Shay managed to avoid both attacks, but Chime wasn't quite fast enough to avoid Water Pulse. She shook it off, and looked to her trainer for the next instruction. "Both of you, use the same attacks, and on Si again," Ari instructed.

"Si, let's see what you've got! Take out Latios! Ice Ball, now!" cried Aqua with zeal. She watched from the sidelines with a bit of hope in her for her Sealeo. He was struggling, but that didn't mean he was down and out. She had a powerful Milotic to back him up, after all.
Rearing up, Si mustered all his strength and fired a very strong Ice Ball attack at Latios. Covering for her partner, Mi stepped up. She managed to block Psywave with a bursting Water Gun attack. She took the Astonish, but avoided flinching. She looked towards Si, praying that his attack was succesful in removing the legendary from battle.

Realising that Shay was getting pretty weak, Chime took the Ice Ball attack for her friend. "Both of you, use the same attacks again! On Si!" She was determined to get the Sealeo out of the battle.

Sadly, for Si, the match was over. Thrown back by the crude combination of two powerful attacks, he was out for the count. Fainting promptly, Aqua returned him. "You did well, Si" she whispered, smiling.
Her attention soon returned to the battle, however. Mi was on her own now, so Aqua had to be more careful. Mi was the more powerful of the two despite that, but it didn't mean that she could handle two equally powerful foes by herself. "Mi, Water Pulse! Use it twice and hit both Pokémon!"
Rearing up, Mi blasted two Water Pulses at Latios at Chimecho. Both were quick and perhaps less powerful than a concentrated one, but she still aimed to confuse them. If she accomplished that much, she had a chance of winning.

Shay was hit by the Water Pulse, and looked a bit confused, and really weak. Since the only other pokemon that would stand a chance was her Horsea, she handed Shay a Healing Potion. Shay was still slightly confused, but looked a lot stronger. "Shay, use Restore Imprison!" Ari knew that it would have worn off by now, and she didn't want Mi healing itself. "Chime, try astonish again!"

Mi growled, hit badly by the Astonish. It knew that it couldn't stay in the battle much longer, but it could still beat these two before the match was over. It shrieked, using a well-aimed water gun at Chime without an order.

The freshly healed Shay, took the attack for Chime, before using another Psywave on Mi. Chime also attacked, with Astonish!

Mi couldn't survive such attacks, and fainted as soon as Astonish hit. Aqua sighed and called the water snake back, and smiling at the ball. Then she pocketed it and looked back up at the trainer.
"You are very wise in battle," She commented, smiling. "That was a good match. Here, take this." She put the gleaming badge in Ari's hands. "Now, take care. The next gym won't be so easy!" She warned, and walked back to her position to await other battles.
