Yes, beginning. It was a fitting name of what had become of Chase's Pokémon trainer career. Finally, she had received her very first Pokémon. She named her Naetoru appropriately after the norse tree of life, Yggdrasil. A complicated word for most to handle, but it fit well with the tough little Pokémon she had just adopted.
Tossing Sil's Pokéball into the air, she released the eager turtle from it's keep. It wasn't friendly at first, being stubborn and uncooperative with it's new trainer. Typical. They'd get along well once they ruled out their differences.
"I know you're not happy, but you'll have to deal. If you ever expect us to be the best, Sil, you'll have to cooperate. I don't intend on making you look stupid. Come on. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain" Chase insisted forwardly.
She knelt down to her Pokémon and held out her hand. At first, it refused, but then proceeded to put it's small round foot in her hand.
"That's what I thought. Let's go"
The two walked along at a slow pace. It continued to annoy Yggdrasil, but Chase was just waiting for wild Pokémon.

The waiting paid off. Out of the brush jumped a rather young but healthy and spry Scyther. "Scyther!" it went, it wa slooking for opponets. Do you fight it or run like a cowarduce leaf fan?(you knows what i means xD)

OOC: *cowardice xD THOSE DAMN LEAFS FANS. ROFLs.
'Just what I've been looking for' Chase thought to herself. It was brilliant. This couldn't possibly be any easier for her.
"Yggdrasil! Use tackle!" she ordered, pointing in the direction of the rogue bug coming her way. She had to win this battle. She was going to have the best team; and that meant Scyther was going to be on it.
She had faith in her Pokémon. It was tough. It would be easy for an opponent to underestimate her, which was good in a sense. They'd never see the power a little grass Pokémon could pack, and she wouldn't allow Sil's weakness to be exploited.

The Scyther jumped into the air, dodging the attack. "Scy!" it cried out as it used a quick attack.

The small Pokémon was caught off guard and was sent flying backwards, astonished by the bug's strength. Just as it was about to fall over, however, Sil managed to regain her balance, attempting to hold herself steady as she skid backwards. Pushing off from the second she stopped sliding, Sil gained momentum once again to perform a more powerful attack this time.
"Yggdrasil, go around, use tackle and follow up with an absorb attack!" Chase commanded, a strategist in the making.
She knew Scyther was fast, but if Naetoru could latch on to it's foe, absorb would prove effective to tire it out. Of course, the advantage was clear here; her Pokémon was up against another with immense type power over grass, and one wrong move would be her downfall.

The scyther managed to dodge the tackle but couldn't escape the absorb. It was slowed down by the pokemon on him and tried to shake it off. A leer was used on the Naetoru.

Sil was stubborn, and refused to give in to Scyther's struggles. If she regained health, it would be far easier to faint the bug. She didn't have much of a movepool, but she was smart for a younger Pokémon.
"Hold on, Yggdrasil!" Chase encouraged, feeling a little useless on the sidelines.
She didn't need much longer, but it was all up to her Naetoru's will at this point. Scyther was a determinant as well, but she had great confidence in Sil's ability to hold on.

The Scyther was having his life sucked out of him by the Absorb, but at a rather slow pace, considering that Bug types are resistant to Grass.
Scyther broke free and attacked the offending Pokemon with a quick Fury Cutter.

Falling back, Yggdrasil had but mere seconds to act.
"Quick, use Withdraw!" Chase yelled, saying it as fast as possible to prevent her Pokémon from fainting. If Fury Cutter gained power, Naetoru would be in serious trouble.
The small turtle hid entirely in it's shell. There wasn't much to do now but give a quick tackle after feeling the hit.

The tackle hit dead-on, sending the bug pokemon backwards a bit. Shaking it off, it used another quick attack.

Getting knocked over, Naetoru continued to hide within it's shell. It was getting a little tired at this point, so it was time to put in even stronger force into attacking it's foe.
"Yggdrasil, we have to make this fast. Jump and tackle Scyther to the ground. Give it all you got!" she called, sounding hopeful as she instructed her Pokémon on the offense again.
It was true. Sil may not be able to hold on much longer. If needed, she would use a potion, but to toughen up her Pokémon she tried to refrain from using items. If she expected her starter to grow strong, it would have to do without aid sometimes. All she could do now was hope the attack was succesful, because there was quite the chance that it was a decisive move.

The attack seemed to have done the trick. The scyther was lying on the ground, not exactly fainted, but in no shape to battle either. "Scy...." it cried out weakly.
Do you catch it or simply move on?

"Yes! Good" Chase said confidently.
Without hesitating any further, she hurled one of her Pokéballs at the near-fainted Scyther. It would prove to be a perfect asset to her team. She intended on raising a Scizor one day, and this time she'd lucked out.
Yggdrasil returned calmly to her master's side. She was tired, and sighed deeply as she sat down.
"Well done" Chase said, patting the turtle's head, "See?"

You hear a strange sound in the bushes. Do you investigate?

"You know you can trust me now" Chase said, sounding dignified of her accomplishments, "You and the team we're going to build together"
She seemed very caring as she said this and gave her little partner a stroke on the head. After this, she released her newly caught Scyther.
"I'll name her Nemesis after the greek goddess of divine retribution. It's only appropriate to name a Pokémon with scythes something to do with judgment"
The two Pokémon were reluctant at first, but the new member Nemesis seemed comfortable, yet quiet despite the action and what had just gone on.
Just as they all had calmed down, her new Scyther lept to it's feet. Without saying anything, it pointed to the bushes; something was there. Chase stood up and eyed it carefully. Yggdrasil didn't seem to give a damn: she'd fallen asleep.

"Ooooddish?" A small pokemon walked out of the bushes and looked around. Upon seeing the scyther, it panicked and quickly returned to the bushes. Do you follow it?

Just as Chase approached, her Scyther made a loud, hissing noise. This would no doubt frighten the Pokémon and send it off. It seemed to be timid, and Chase fell back a little. Naetoru seemed to grumble in it's sleep; it didn't want some little weed replacing it as Chase's lead grass Pokémon.
"...Oh well" she muttered, rolling her eyes. Chase sat back down beside Yggdrasil, who inched towards her a little as she did this.

The oddish ran away, only to come back a a few minutes later with its mother, a raher angry-looking gloom. "Od-oddish!" "Gloom!"
Uh-oh! That gloom seems a bit angry and ready to fight. What do you do?

Chase turned her head. She wasn't overly worried, but she had caught some unwanted attention, and that wasn't something that she had planned initially. She had figured that her timid little friend would have wandered off - damn, how she was wrong.
"Sil, you've got to get up" she insisted, "We may have a battle at our hands"
And she wasn't kidding. She was aware of Gloom's dangerous spore attacks that could greatly affect her Pokémon's condition in battle, not to mention the poison type advantage over both of them. Not good, but she wasn't about to stand down; never.
"Nemesis, use quick attack on Gloom!" she ordered, slowly getting to her feet. Yggdrasil was vaguely aroused, and would eventually stand up in a bad mood. How dare they interupt her rest.
