Caught slightly off guard, the quick attack hit the pokemon. Angrily, it got back up and unleashed sleep powder.

Caught off guard, the Scyther stepped back quickly, hardly avoiding the attack. With the fine powder floating in the air, Nemesis began to feel drowsy, leaving herself totally vulnerable to another attack. Stepping up to the plate, Yggdrasil nudged her new teammate in attemps to avoid the bug Pokémon from falling asleep.
"Yggdrasil, draw Nemesis from the sleep powder!" Chase ordered, seeing no other option. She had doubts that her Scyther would receive her commands, despite the good idea she had in mind.

Taking advantage over the fact that its foe was still drowsy, Gloom used absorb, stealing the scyther's energy.

"Yggdrasil, use tackle on Gloom!" Chase cried, trying to ensure the well being of her newly-caught Scyther. It would be fine soon, but not as long as the weed Pokémon continued to use absorb.
At this point, she was frustrated. She half expected a 2 on 2 battle but had run in to some more difficult trouble. She had potions handy, so she was still confident, however annoyed nonetheless.

"Core! Fire blllasssrt!" Said a groggy voice, a voice which sounded as if it had been spored. Yep, that was Shane Immortalis, that angry gloom had spored him while runing toward chase. You just don't spore a trainer like Shane especially if he can own you!"
Both the gloom and oddish feinted.
'Got you!" Shane shouted when the spore fully wore off. Heavy footsteps came toward you and a rawr. it was Core, Shane's Hiidoran. It looked at you curiosly as Shane joined it's side. "Hey arn't you Chase?" Shane had recognized the girl.

"Who are you?" Chase asked, feeling totally interrupted by the boy, "I didn't need help"
She stood there, arms crossed. Scyther snapped out of it's daze and found itself being dragged back by Naetoru to their trainer. Overall, Scyther was disappointed in it's lack of preparedness and was rather aggitated. It scowled and pushed off it's new friend, hissing. Yggdrasil stood before Chase protectively.

"I didn't even know you were fighting that gloom. I wasn't trying to help you. I got spored while it was running." Shane sighed then stretched. "You honestly don't rmember me? Shane Immortalios, We've met a few times. Trhough our fathers." Shane didn't like saying he kenw someone because of his dad, but hey he did this time.

"What are you talking about? I've never seen you before" she replied stubbornly, still baffled with this strange guy infront of her.
She couldn't honestly say that she had ever seen him. It wasn't a lie; she knew what was real and what wasn't. Scyther approached her a little as it grew less drowsy. It kept a watchful eye on the new character and the bizarre fire Pokémon who had assisted him.
Taking out her Pokédex, Chase looked up the foreign creature. She'd seen many Pokémon through her father, but not this one. "Hiidoran, the Crater Pokémon -" it would say, continuing on with the information as it spoke in it's digital voice.
'Hiidoran?' Chase thought, now eyeing the creature herself. She'd heard something about it before...wasn't it Legendary? No, it couldn't be. It was too small. With that, she closed her Pokédex and returned her attention to the subject in question. Whatever.

"Eh? Must of just forgotton. Don't really matter, only recognized you because of the fact I've met your dad. " Shane noticed she'd pokedex Hiidoran. "Yeah, he's a legendary, recently born though. Born rigth after I became one of Pokemon Masters of Cheyenne." Shane sighed, he and Arisa were waiting for when they could get itnot he next regionf or the Co-ordination matches-.

"Hah, it's barely been two minutes and you're already rambling on about how great you are. And no, I don't know you" she continued, still standing her ground.
Chase crossed her arms disapprovingly. '- After I became one of the Pokémon Masters of Cheyenne'....Pfft. She'd hardly started this whole journey and she'd already found someone who was probably going to challenge her to a battle just to see her fall. Totally disinterested, she leaned on one side. Yggdrasil stayed near her, attempting to make itself look large and strong. Indeed, all three of them were stubborn. Scyther also held it's ground.
'I hate guys like this' she told herself, 'Like beating a newb is gonna make him feel big. Hahaha....him and his god damn Hiidoran...' Jealous thoughts sweeped her mind, but the expression that played on her face was quite the contrary; she had to just play it cool and act like she was better. He'd go away, wouldn't he?

"I'm not trying to ramble about 'how great I am'. Why would I do that? I just was stateing a fact, he hatched after the league." Shane stretched and smiled kindly. He then recalled Core and released Flare, one of the most beautiful Flareons in existance. The pokemon stayed close to Shane's legs, moving it's tail around.
"Anyway since you don't remember me. Name's Shane, Shane Immortalis. Nice to meet you. Oh, a little advice, the first gym leader. He's a sucker for girls, flirt with him or womething and it may be easier. But if you choose not to he can be tuff and destracting. It's a two pokemon at once battle." Shane liked to be helpfull, he had no intention of battleing a trainer who just started their journey. What was the point? he didn't have any pokemon her level really. Neither of them would get stronger.

"I'd rather fight my battles without an advantage" she replied dangerously, "but thanks" She didn't really mean that, but there was a speck of politeness in her that came out at this very moment, so at least she was being...well, mildly considerate.
In this case, however, she would have to train Yggdrasil and Nemesis to become a team. If not, she would have to pair up new Pokémon she planned on catching. She had heard the first gym leader was also an electric trainer, though, which would put her flying bug at a disadvantage. Naetoru would have no problem, but she wasn't about to do something foolish either.
Yggdrasil grit her teeth at the Flareon. If it were human, it would have surely said 'Showoff.... judging by the jealous look on the turtle's face. Oh, the happiness around them all. Scyther watched from the background, shifty eyed.

Shane sighed at the reaction Chase was giving him. "Okay look, I'm going to give you some really good advice, somethign i was told when I first started out. You can't do it all by yourself, no matter how powerful you are. At first I didn't understand what it ment. But after awhile I figured it out. I hope you do too." Shane looked at Flare then at the grass turtle. Tension...He decided he'd best continue on.
"Well, since you obviouslly don't understand it yet. I'll be seeing you later then. Contact me, I'm not that hard to find. Good luck, Chase." He and flare began walking along. if she called back he'd stop and talk or help her, what ever she needed. He just liked being nice.

OOC: Sorry I disappeared, my dad was screwing around with a printer network so he had to unplug my internet. Wasn't planned, sorry I poofed ; "Ummm...whatever...okay?" Chase's shoulders dropped. Boys....she would never understand them. Yggdrasil seemed pretty proud of herself that she'd 'won' and the Flareon had gone. "We might as well continue" she said, shrugging. Both Pokémon nodded their heads and turned the other way as they sought out new challenges before the first gym. 'Well that wasn't weird at all' Chase thought, glancing back for a moment. Tugging on the tongue of her shoe, Yggdrasil urged her to keep going. Sighing like her other Pokémon had done, she followed her turtle along. 'That's probably not the last I'll see of that guy...I'll be stronger next time'.

"Digdigdigdig." A mound of dirt was springing towards you. Strange. Is it a pokemon? You could hear it mumbling as it shifted the soft earth around. "Diglett!"

"Huh?" Chase exclaimed. Naetoru turned around for the 360. A Diglett!
Checking her Pokédex momentarily, Chase glanced up at the small mole Pokémon. 'A ground type will be perfect for my first gym' she thought to herself, 'Electric types are useless against ground..brilliant. I better try and catch this one.
Despite her Scyther's clear advantage over Diglett, Naetoru had one as well. Being the slightly less experienced of the two, Chase decided to choose her starter Pokémon and put it on the offensive.
"Naetoru, attack Diglett with absorb!" she commanded. Surely it would be effective despite the attack's weak nature.

The Diglett popped up and squealed in pain and surprise. It glared at the turtle before burying underground for a Dig Attack.

"Yggdrasil, careful..." Chase warned, "...Withdraw!" It was the safest way to go. If Sil hid in her shell, she'd be less likely to be harmed by Diglett's dig attack. The type itself would do little damage against a grass Pokémon, but Chase was mildly aware of the chance that Diglett could be at a higher level. Not taking any chances this time, she played it defensive.
Peering around, both trainer and Pokémon awaited the incoming attack. Scyther kept close to Chase, observing the unfolding scene. It was impressed with it's former opponent; surely they would make a great team someday.

The Diglett popped up beside Sil and used Mud Slap as it laughed in it's Diglett-y way. "Digdigdig."

Yggdrasil felt the impact of the mud. It had slid under her a little, but the near-entirety of it had come down on top. Feeling a little rattled, the turtle left the safe cover of her shell. She'd have to attack now if she expected to catch Diglett again.
"Yggdrasil, quick, tackle!" Chase called, remarking the little mole's second appearance.
The shaky Naetoru was as stubborn as ever and charged fiercely at Diglett. She had great confidence that this move would hit, but there was no guarantee things would go her way. Nemesis used her scythes to point out Diglett's movements and appeared to be calling to Yggdrasil as well.
