The Meditite soothingly exhaled from its almost human-like maw as Shinji questioned it about the effects of meditating. Its piercing, pure-black gaze slowly shifted to the male before it spoke once again,
<"Well, why don't I show you?">
Obviously the psychic/fighting-type was challenging Shinji to a battle, or a test of strength as the wise might call it. Its circular, light-grey ears bobbed a bit as it awaited a response--

Shinji gave a little nod and placed Yami onto the ground. It was obvious that he was going to use that pokemon to battle. "Let's see what this meditation can do to you, then. Yami, get ready with a Charge!" Sparks flew around as the Shinx drew static electricity towards him.

The so called wise Pokemon seemed to close it's eyes for a moment once more, it seemed to almost be as if it were zoning out for a moment, though really all it was doing was starting to meditate. While his mind might have been out, focusing it's power on a move that it could use next. Or what it may need to do next, whether it be offensive or if it was going to be offensive. The rest of it's senses seemed to be rather alert at the time, not letting it's guard down just yet.

Shinji barely spent any second thinking about a strategy before he ordered Yami to attack with a spark. The only thing going through his head were statistics. Meditite, Psychic and Fighting, so none of Yami's attacks were stronger against the little medititing pokemon.

Eyes flying open, the meditating pokemon quickly floated out of the way, landing on it's four paws with grace. Then it curled up once more in a relaxing position, sharp eyes frozen on it's target. It used confusion on the electric type, a sly grin formed on it's face.

Yami gave a little cry as the attack hit him. The pokemon felt a huge headache forming in his head, as if someone was squeezing the sides of it.
"Use Spark, Yami," said Shinji. "Fight the confusion and tackle it!" Now that his pokemon had charged up, the attack would be a lot more successful.
The little lion cub grit his teeth as he collected electrical energy around him, before bounding over, ready to slam himself onto the Meditite.

The Meditite hovered there a moment, idle and with distinct placidity -- two silken dark eyes with well discernable wisdom blinked slowly, for what appeared to be a dazed, drunken lion was tumbling towards it in an erratic Tackle. Whisker-thin filaments of gold electricity danced 'round a body of azure and jet, and the Psychic-type was so imminently startled it unintentionally permitted itself to be stricken by the assault.
"Tite..." [ Oof... ]
Ah, that did it. It would get that little Shinx now. It would -- if it could. The green warrior found that despite all efforts, it was incapable of mobility... static crackled and leapt upon its form, and the Pokemon find itself afflicted with paralysis.

Shinji had a little smile on his face as he noticed the Meditite's paralysis.
Perfect.
"Yami, go in for a bite! Take advantage of its immobility!" he commanded. The little cub let out a low growl before leaping in, ready to sink his fangs in one of the meditite's limbs.

Paralyzed the little Meditating Pokemon was immobile and all efforts were useless. The Shinx Bite was successful, and the teeth of the small Pokemon sunk into the little Meditite.
"Medi!!" It shrieked in pain. The Meditite tried to break the paralysis, but the status stuck. Small sparks encircling the creature. It still had a bit of HP left, maybe it would be ready to rise and fight, if you weren't quick enough...

"Good job! Finish it off with another bite!" said Shinji. The little pokemon seemed just as excited to win this as Yami let go for a split second before sinking his teeth back in, deeper than it had been before. The little lion cub was digging into his primal instincts to hunt and kill. "We're almost done, Yami. Just a little more and we'll win this!"

Indeed, for now the Fighting-type was sprawled upon the loam, a set of teethmarks adorning its pale, mint-hued exterior. Its limbs were splayed above it, trembling with effort to shatter the disparaging ailment. "Tite... Med... Tite... Med..." [ Can't... lose... can't... lose... ]
And gradually did the young Meditite attempt to rise, eyelids delicately flickering, legs and arms aquiver as it attempted to situate them properly within their sockets. 'Twas a difficult maneuver, but eyes flashing with a guile defiance, it prevailed; and the Pokemon now gazed with sheer, undisrupted hatred at the minute cub that had dared threaten its undisputed winning streak around this neck of the woods. Fists clenched and shaking, it lunged for'ard with no particular attack in mind... something, anything that would cause this belittling Shinx harm was quite adequate.

The lion cub didn't expect and attack like that and was hit rather hard. "Yami! Don't let your guard down, and fight back with a tackle!" he said, a bit angry that he had been caught off guard by the little meditating pokemon. Yami had this horrible look on his face as he was hit and quickly attacked back immediately, launching himself on the Meditite.

The Meditite took an abrupt moment to fairly wallow within the depths of its short-lived victory. Its dark eyes glimmered in a mannerism sickeningly complacent, and it revealed small implications that it was about to dive in for another assault that it knew would inevitably hit...
... before, atypically, being struck itself. Vanity is a lose-lose affair, as the Meditite whom had once been percieved as wise had recently found. A large, brown-purple bruise now occupied its lower stomach where the azure-furred head of the Shinx had forged contact. It winced, quivering with effort -- perspiration further soiled the dirtied, scuffed snow encircling its broken frame. The Fighting-type rose, tears beading the corners of its pupils, before again collapsing. A flurry of white briefly formed a halo 'round its midsection before falling again, and the Meditite was no more.
[ Each participating Pokemon is recipient of one level. The Meditite is open for capture if you so desire. ]

Shinji had a little smile across his face. "Good job," he said. He wasn't going to catch the Meditite though, since even though it had proven to be a strong pokemon, Shinji felt wrong to just... capture it. Something inside him told him to just let it be, so that it may learn more from its meditation and grow even stronger. Picking up the pokemon, he placed it in the bushes, out of plain sight so that no one would take advantage of the fainted pokemon. "Come on, let's go," he told Yami, picking the Shinx up.

Soon out of no where a young, cute girl appeared in front of Shinji, the girl has semi-long, brown-chocolate hair, and she was dressed in somewhat of a school uniform. "Hello there, I'm Clonie, and I was wondering if you would like to battle against my Pokémon and me," the young girl greeted and reveal two Pokémon who seemed to be hiding behind her. Hiding Pokemon:
