Theo leaned back, still grinning like a fool, and cocked his head childishly upon hearing Chris's words. "Hah?" He didn't really get it, nor did he care. He was free. Free! Ahahaha~! The blond half-danced away from the brunette, doing a few teeny twirls with his arms outstretched, then losing his balance and falling over into the snow. He just kept laughing, ignoring the cold and everything else. Free, free, free...
Like a Butterfree! Hahahah~! Freeeeee, free, Butterfree. Butterfree. Like Beautifly. Huh... Huh! Hey, what'd happened to them? What'd happened to those two gorgeous creatures? Theo hoped they'd flown away to be happy and live a really long life, filled with more fantastic dream-like performances and lots of flowers. Yes, yes!
As strange as Theo's new behavior was, his Pokemon were starting to calm down. It didn't seem like anything was really, you know, wrong. Sure, he was acting like a mental ward patient, but that was normal enough, and he was happy. They never saw him looking so happy. Dumpling bleated a quiet "maa", approaching the boy and seating himself in Theo's lap. Imogene leaned against her trainer, trying to keep him warm with her own body heat. Opera was twirling with less intensity now, more lazy, to the unsteady rhythm by which the Soothe Bell around Theo's neck jingled.
"Thank you," rasped the boy, not looking up or glancing at anyone in particular, but one would have to assume he was speaking to Chris. "Thank you..." he repeated, grinning sweetly at Dumpling before hugging the fluffy sheep-Pokemon to his chest. Free!

"You're perfectly welcome" Chris said with a smile. During this whole exchange, the Beautifly had actually flown behind a nearby tree, but the both of them now came out and floated around Theo, seemingly rather happy. The female perched on his shoulder and began to talk in Pokespeak. Chris quickly said "It sounds like that Beautifly wants to go with you. But you'll have to battle the male one first."

"...Really?" Theo, in his slightly frightening glee, was still grinning. He seemed quite excited now. Battle! Yes! Whoo! Just what everyone needed, eh? That was what they'd come there for initially anyhow, but... that'd been because Reese had said so. So who cared why they'd initially come? Just a battle for fun, to make them stronger and earn them another Pokemon for the collection. Yes, yes. "Okay! Okay, sure!"
Imogene was wriggling around like an over-excited puppy, now, panting and yapping and hopping up and down. +Battle! Battle! Battle!+ She growled almost playfully at the male Beautifly, wagging her fluffy tail. It seemed that she had not forgotten the two creatures' dance, and was unable to be genuinely aggressive towards them as a result. Still, a battle was definitely her style. She was all for it.
Dumpling bleated cheerfully at the return of the Beautifly, waving his legs at the female. "Maa!" he greeted. Opera, meanwhile, seemed content to watch the battle that would take place, twirling lazily through the air.

The female Beautifly flew over to Theo's shoulder, perching there and rubbing itself against his cheek. "Umm, I think the female Beautifly wants to battle the male one" Chris commented. "This will give you a decent opportunity to practice helping a wild Pokemon in a battle, so go right ahead."
"Aren't you afraid he's going to lose though?" an innocent, yet rather frightened voice whispered in his head.
"It doesn't matter how I feel" Chris answered in a low mutter. "It's his fight, so why should I be worried?"

Imogene seemed to wilt, her tail's wagging immediately stopping and her ears drooping. Aww... She quietly sat back down and growled quietly to herself, as if she were mumbling. Dumpling smiled in sheepish amusement at the Growlithe. Opera twirled, presumably amused as well.
Theo smiled a little at Imogene, patting her head affectionately to apologize, and then turning his head to watch the female Beautifly. "...Huh... I don't really know what attacks you have..." He frowned, then, seemingly thinking. "Oh well, I'll make stuff up. You can improvise, right~? OKAY!" He clapped his hands together in excitement, then rubbed the palms against each other. "Uhhh... fly at him with some sort of physical attack! Do you know Tackle? Do that!"

Giving a small nod, the Beautifly flew at the male with the highest speed it could manage. But the male countered this by whipping up a Gust attack directly in the female's path, hitting it for super effective damage. Chris just watched on, smiling as the Beautifly battled. It had been a while since he saw a decent battle after all, rather than being in one.

Theo gritted his teeth, getting into "battle mode", which meant aggressive and pressuring as hell. It was character-building. Hmph. "Keep going, you're fine! Use that glittery windy attack thing from earlier to fling him back! Then fly over him and hit him with a Tackle from behind! Get him good!" It would bounce the male Beautifly around like a ball, and Theo thought it sounded amusing, plus it would do some damage. Why not, eh? Theo's tone of voice was very loud and growly, but since Theo wasn't a terribly intimidating person (asides from the crazy thing, which was, you know, a bit scary), it really just sounded like him trying to be tough. Almost funny. And he was in too good of a mood for it not to sound like he was just being really energetic and competitive.

The Beautifly followed commands and successfully pulled off the combination that Theo wanted. The male one ended up bouncing around the trees really fast, causing Chris to smile. "You're doing great so far, just keep up the pace" he laughed, allowing Dark Frost to come out and watch (amidst the large golden aura that constantly surrounded him when not in battle).

Theo laughed a harsh, raspy, patronizing laugh, amused to see the male Beautifly zooming around and crashing into everything. He was doing pretty good, wasn't he? Whoo-hoo! "Sweet, now nail him one more time with a Tackle to shoot him down! Get him grounded!" He looked as if he wanted to hop up and down in his enthusiasm; he was getting really into the battle, obviously.

The Beautifly gave a nod and was about to attack with Tackle. However, the Pokemon was mesmerised by the Weavile's aure, and ended up suffering an Absorb attack from the male. It may not have done much, but it helped slightly. "Yeah...sorry about that" Chris said slightly as he stepped in front of Weavile to hide him. The female then launched an attack, narrowly missing.

Theo looked aggravated. Clearly he didn't like mistakes. It wasn't exactly the Beautifly's fault, so he bit back a few nasty comments he could have screamed at her; however, the temptation to growl and spit and scold for her slip-up was very annoyingly present. "You're fine! Hit him up high and then slam him down with Tackles, be fast!" Hell if he was gonna lose, and if the Beautifly couldn't keep up, then that was her problem. She needed to learn!
Yeesh, the kid was crazy-competitive, or maybe just really violent. Or both.

Smiling, the Beautifly sped towards the male one, sending him skywards. Chris was smiling as he watched the fight, saying "Well what do you know. Isn't that a favourite strategy of yours, Dark Frost?" The Weavile watched as the female flew up above the male and sent him crashing into the ground with another Tackle attack. Struggling to get up, the male one just shook his head, no longer willing to battle. Chris noticed this and said to Theo "The battle's over now. You won."
The wild Beautifly has gained one level. Do you wish to capture both, or just the female?

Theo watched as his strategy worked beautifully; and hey, the female Beautifly had executed it just right! Fantastic. She clearly wasn't just all twirls and sparkles. She had some fighting spirit in her. Theo liked that.
And the attack seemed to do its job, because after getting slammed into the ground, the male Beautifly was shaking his head, unwilling to continue the battle. The blond boy knew he was victorious even before Chris said it, and was grinning triumphantly, trembling in excitement. This would be his first wild Pokemon catch ever, as all of the rest of his team had come along with him willingly or had been given to him or found.
So what to do? The female Beautifly was definitely coming with him, he had no doubt or question of that. He liked her. But the male... Well, he'd seen the way they'd danced, and had admired it, and wondered for a moment how he might feel once he was all alone? Pity. When was the last time he'd felt pity? Jack would've bitten his head off under normal circumstances, and he almost expected it still, but he would never have to worry about that again.
Maybe it was just to spite the cruel voices, but Theodore stepped forward, remembering that his feet were cold and slightly numb what with all the snow he'd been shuffling around in, approaching the Beautifly that was still struggling to get back up. "Do you w-wanna come too?" He glanced up at the female, looking to see how she might feel about this.
Theo's Pokemon seemed a bit surprised, though Dumpling looked tremendously excited. Opera twirled with what might have been approval, but who could ever really tell? And then there were Imogene and Braelyn, who weren't pleased in the least. Stupid bugs were gonna be coming with them? Two of them, now? Oh, c'mon! Their respect for Theo was all that kept them quiet.

The female Beautifly brightened up after hearing Theo's offer to her male companion. At once she got up in an attempt to hug her weakened friend. The other Beautifly turned a bright pink at the sudden display of affection, and merely smiled over at Theo. The two bug type's wings had become entangled in their little moment, but the two hadn't really cared. They were going to be together, even if they were captured by a trainer.
<We would love to be together, thank you.> The male replied, seeing that the female was a bit choked up on her emotions at the moment. Both of them couldn't help but feel excited about the prospect. Most of Theo's Pokemon had approved them already, and he really didn't give a damn about Imogene and Braelyn. So all was well in his mind.
The female had finally stopped her clinging to the male, and rested her head on his shoulders. Watching Theo with the calmest expression on her face. If he decided the catch them, it was alright with her. The two eagerly awaited the Pokeball, with a hint of curiosity to boot.

Theo felt a weird, fuzzy feeling in his chest, like he'd done the right thing. It was a feeling he didn't get often, and it was... nice. Weird, but nice. A crooked, wobbly smile came awkwardly to his face at the sight of the two Pokemon hugging and cuddling and being generally cute and affectionate. The male Beautifly made a few quiet cooing noises that the human assumed meant they would both go with him. He nodded slowly, and rummaged through his bag for empty Pokeballs. As he moved, the Soothe Bell around his neck jingled melodically, and he felt even nicer.
The voices were gone and he'd done something right and was getting two new Pokemon as a result. Life was good, so long as he didn't catch frostbite.
+Yay! Yay! Yay!+ bleated Dumpling, who was incredibly eager to make friends of the bugs. Opera twirled, Imogene mumbled, and Braelyn "hmph"ed. Theo finally managed to find two Pokeballs in his unorganized mess of a backpack and withdrew them, facing the Beautifly for a second and meeting the female's eyes before tossing the items.

The Beautyflies were gazing into each other's eyes, overjoyed that they could travel together, just like they had always dreamed. Traveling the land with their trainer and other friends. It was a dream, although the male had doubts about their travling compainions. He rather liked Dumpling though and made a happy sound at the Pokémon. The female met Theo's eyes and squinted them up in a bug like smile. Theo looked nice when he smiled, he should it more often. The female Beautyfly was absorbed into the sphere first and the ball didn't move since she had come willingly, the small ding echoed throughout the small space. The Beautyfly wa pleased she was able to be with her compainion. Meanwhile the male was suprised by the tighness of the inside of the sphere and shifted slightly, making the pokeball jiggle. After relaxing though, the shaking eased and the Beautyfly was captured. Congrats! You've caught a Beautifly! It'll be felled soon. A annoying chattering can also be heard, "Pachi! Pach. Pach!" a Pachirisu complains, throwing berries at the dark skinned Pokémon. They bounce off the Sneasel with ease and the Pokémon ignores it, causing the Pachirisu becomes more agigated.

"Whuh?" rasped Theo, turning upon hearing an obnoxious thunk sound. There was a Sneasel, chopping at a tree with its hands, and there was a Pachirisu, chattering and throwing berries at the dark-type. Seemed like maybe the Sneasel was trying to cut down the Pachirisu's home?
+What's it doin'?+ asked Dumpling curiously, while Theo bent to pick up the two Pokeballs. Imogene and Braelyn snarled at the wild Pokemon and Opera merely twirled. (What else was new?)
The consistent thump thump thump of the Sneasel's claws against bark became annoying very quickly, and the chatter of the Pachirisu wasn't much better. Probably would have been far worse, actually, if not for the fact that the creature had a reason to complain. "Hey, Sneasel," called Theo, frowning. This was obnoxious and he would put an end to it. "Quit it, will you?" His tone was harsh, and he certainly wouldn't mind setting his Pokemon on it to make sure that yes, the Sneasel would stop.

The Sneasel was growling as he worked, but the endless chatter of that annoying Pachirisu and his loud chops against the tree drowned it out. It paused for a moment and wiped its furry brow before beginning again. He /would/ fell this tree. He /would/ yell "TIMER" and watch as the Pachirisu's home fell to the earth, sweet revenge, the best taste in the world.
"Hey, Sneasel, quit it, will you?"
The Sneasel slowed down its hectic pace on the tree, before pausing and turning around. <For starters, its Isaac. Not 'sneasel'. Secondly, why am I supposed to stop? I would like to get this tree cut down before dark.> the Sneasel spoke his voice calm, but with an icy edge to it. <Got a problem with that... human?>
The Pachirisu was stunned, stopping its noisy chatter, making the clearing eerily silent as he regained bodily control, she grinned happily. This nice human was helping her! It cheered silently, before throwing a well aimed berry at the back of the Sneasel's head. It blowed a raspberry as Isaac turned, and it smiled at Theo happily waving shyly at the trainer.
The Sneasel was furious, an anger mark appearing on his forehead as a berry collided with his head. It twitched but sighed slightly. <So, if you have nothing else to say. I'm going to chop this dumb Pokémon down!> it snarled, before turning to the tree and hacking at it.

Theo didn't like the Sneasel's tone. Dumb thing wasn't listening to him, was it? Yeah, okay, he couldn't understand Pokespeech and couldn't be sure that "Isaac" would keep on doing what he'd been doing, but it seemed that way.
+Don't talk to him like that!+ snapped Imogene, snarling. Braelyn barked out an agreement, seeming annoyed.
All seemed to be temporarily focused on the Sneasel as opposed to the Pachirisu, but when another berry went whizzing towards the makeshift-lumberjack's head, Theo glanced up and blinked at the cute, squirrel-like electric-type. She was waving at him, smiling. Awkwardly, he wiggled his fingers at her as well, his own sort of half-wave. Dumpling bleated up at her in greeting, smiling cheerfully.
The Sneasel didn't seem happy with the electric-type, though, and snarled at Theo before turning back to his tree and taking another whack.
+Hey! Prince said that he wanted you to stop. So... stop,+ growled Braelyn angrily, taking a step towards him in warning. Imogene did the same, nodding. Theo turned his head to stare at his Pokemon, and the Soothe Bell around his neck jingled and jangled, still doing nothing to calm the two hounds.
"Hey, Imma. Could you scare that loser away? If not, you can... eat him or something. Ember. Yeah?" Theo waved his hand casually, and the Growlithe looked more than eager to obey. Opening her mouth, she shot flames at the ice-and-dark-type, her mind visualizing him burning to a crisp. Lovely.

Being a Sneasel meant many things to the little imp. As the Pokedex entry says, most tend to own an extremely vicious nature. This was only magnified because he wasn't living in his natural habitat. One which needed snow, and ice. Not this blasted summer sun, causing him to pant as he took another claw and threw it at the tree. Possibly the last time he would manage to hurt the Pachirisu's home since Imma had launched an attack of her own.
The short but repetitive blasts of Ember made the Sneasel wince, he was almost about to ignore it until making a dive to the right. Rolling on the dry dust and dirt in a swift somersault before getting back up. Surely the hot sun had something to do with the Growlithe's power, yes, that had to be it. The only reason that it was hurting him so much was because of the weather.
<You are really asking for it, pest.> The Sneasel hissed, using a sharp claw to pull down his eyelid and stuck his tongue out at the Growlithe. A dark energy glowing around his body as he did this, the faint outline of dark power to enhance the Taunts effects. For now, he would let this mutt come to him, perhaps with a less focused mind as well.
The Pachirisu was left dumbstruck at this sudden attack, but after thinking it over she smirked. Issac truly deserved that attack, but she wasn't sure if all of this violence was necessary. But there was no way that she was going to get involved in this now, rather than stay by her home, she ran to the protection of Theo and Dumpling. Grinning all the way as she stood up to greet the fellow electric type.
Though she had to admit that she was a little surprised that no one was questioning the Sneasel's sudden rage. Perhaps there was no need to, she simply assumed that they were simply nice guys. Maybe even the heroic type, her smile persisted on showing, but widened slightly at the thought. They were her heroes, for helping her save her home.
