HUZAAA~H! The girl ran onto the route, absolutely overjoyed to finally begin her journey. She spun around in the sunlight filtering through the clouds overhead, a wide smiled plastered on her face. Alice could have continued spinning for hours, if she hadn't ... fallen. Into a tree. The teenage girl, who had the mindset of a child, did not notice that she was about to collide with a rather large rock, and spun into it, sending her staggering backwards into a tree. W'ouch.
Alice stopped spinning, rubbing her head. "Oww ..." she muttered, swaying back and forth like a drunken person. The girl finally noticed something -- that she had not yet named her starter. She pulled the pokeball out of her bag, and enlarged it, tossing it into the air. A red beam of light shot out of the the sphere, and a Skitty emerged. Alice's face brightened, then she knelt down to name her first Pokémon. "Jasmine!"
The Skitty blinked when she was released, but she soon began grinning as well. +Hi!+ she exclaimed, then they both began squealing and jumping around and hugging each other. The Skitty was happy with her new name, and Alice was happy with her new Pokémon.
Thus was their entrance onto Route One ...

[[PC in your signature, please. And optional Profile in there too.]] That rock was not a rock at all. Actually, it was a Pokémon. And as it had been hit, she became angry. An anger mark appeared on her forehead, and she slowly turned around to the pair, looking incredibly mad and had balled up fists. Her anger mark was rather... red. She glared at the Skitty, and then at Alice. They were a loud pair, they were. She had been sleeping until this human had bumped into her. The loud girl and the loud Pokémon. The perfect pair.
The Geodude had had no need to battle anyone, but she did now. A few more anger marks appeared as, because of the noise the pair was making, they did not hear her war cries. She risked another one as yet another anger mark appeared. <War!!!> she declared. This time, she charged forward with a Tackle attack.
Her Tackle was aimed right in between Alice and the Skitty. She grinned. This was going to be fun, knocking them apart at the moment. It was because they had ignored her that she was so mad. Soon the anger marks disappeared as she was having fun. Her Tackle still headed towards the Skitty though.

(( Sorry. ))
The two were giggling and spinning and singing and, well, generally having a merry time when ...
+War!!!+
Alice's head turned quickly to look at the thing that just yelled at her, extremely surprised. Where did it come from? She glanced around her, then frowned in confusion. There was nothing .. no, wait! Upon closer inspection, she realized that the thing she had hit was not a rock at all! "It's a ..." she began, then stopped. The girl blinked at the red marks on it. What were those ...? And then it charged at them! "Oh, no!" Alice cried, frozen to her spot.
It was Jasmine that reacted first. She wriggled out of Alice's arms, then gracefully leapt to the ground. She then ran at her trainer, trying to get Alice out of the way of the attack. The Skitty hissed, rather angry. What was that thing's PROBLEM?! However, she continued trying to push Alice out of the way.
The trainer was surprised when Jasmine went out of her arms, and even more so when the Skitty began pushing her. What in the world? Alice took a step back, though, just to please her pokemon. After all, the rock wasn't really going to hit her, right? Pokemon are nice! Ri -- her face was shocked as the body of the Geodude rammed through where she just was. "What?" she said, bewildered.
+What in the world are you DOING!+ Jasmine hissed, glaring at the rock-pokemon. +Why'd you attack?!+

The Geodude looked rather angry and turned around from her attack, glaring at the Skitty with annoyance and impatience. How dare that cat-Pokemon even ask such a dumb blond question after waking her up from the long day she had been through. After all, even a female Geodude needed her beauty rest and she wasn't going to put up with anyone at this point. [You woke me up!!] She screamed at the Skitty and then ran at it with a tackle attack, hoping to knock some since into her head.
Geodude used Tackle!

+You woke me up!!+
Jasmine stared at the Geodude in disbelief. +SO WHAT?!+ she screeched, pissed. +That's a lousy reason to attack someone!+ The Skitty hissed, the pink fur on her neck standing on end. Right. So we woke that thing up, and it attacks us? What the heck? She tumbled back as the Tackle hit her side, then got back up, her fall cushioned by a patch of springy grass. The cat pokemon hissed and spat the the rock pokemon, wanting to attack. She looked pointedly at Alice, as if asking permission to attack.
Alice, on the other hand, was in shock. "Jasmine ... you ..." she breathed. The trainer couldn't believe that her cute, adorable pokemon could act like this! Wait ... this wasn't the problem. The problem was that this ... rock thing ... was attacking them! Her eyes widened as the cat was knocked back by the attack, then turned to glare at the Geodude. "Jamine, are you all right?" she asked, not taking her eyes off of the other pokemon.
The Skitty replied, +Yeah. Of course!+
"Are you up for a battle?"
+... yes.+
Alice nodded, then pointed to the Geodude. "Use a Tackle!" she commanded, her voice firm. That thing hurt Jasmine! She scowled dangerously at the Geodude -- and, if looks could kill, that thing would be dead ten times over from the daggers coming out of her icy blue eyes..
Nodding, Jasmine ran forward in an exposive dash, sprinting towards the Geodude. She prepared to ram into it with her entire body.

[LOUSY REASON?!] Geodude screamed at the Skitty, angry that even a Pokemon like a Skitty would think that that even that reason would be anything but lousy. Skitty had unleashed a tackle attack on Geodude, which hit but, being a normal type, didn't do very much damage. Geodude glared at the trainer and back at the Skitty, wondering what on Earth were they thinking to begin with? Waking a lady up at this time of day, even a wild Pokemon had the right to nap whenever and this had not been any exception in the case. Shaking her head, she ran back at the Skitty with a tackle of her own.
Geodude used Tackle!

Jasmine snarled when the Geodude yelled at them. +WELL, DO YOU ALWAYS ATTACK EVERYONE THAT WAKES YOU UP?!+ she screamed back, then quickly leapt out of the way as the rock pokemon came barreling towards her. The Skitty glared daggers at the rock type, shaking with anger.
Alice frowned, staring at the Geodude. What an annoying pokemon! I don't attack people when they wake me up, she thought. After all, that's a nice way to make people hate you ... screaming at them for doing nothing but that. Honestly. "Jas, use another Tackle!" she commanded firmly.
The Skitty, rather excited in the midst of the battle, eagerly rushed up to slam her body into the Geodude, leaping off of the ground in a flying TACKLE!

[OOC: Woo! First mod post on this site!]
The female Geodude huffed and balled her hands into fists. {No one else has ever woken me up before! They had enough sense not to trod on a Geodude!} she declared, glaring daggers right back at the Skitty.
She narrowed her eyes when the Skitty came flying at her. She wrapped her arms around her and became a little ball, using Defense Curl to up her Defense a little bit before the pink cat Pokemon could hit. The Normal attack wouldn't do that much to her, but for some reason this ticked off Pokemon wanted to thrash this annoying, rude pair.
The Skitty did in fact collide with Geodude, but the attack did almost nothing and she huffed again. That was all this little Pokemon had? She almost smirked, but was too furious to feel smug of any sorts.
{I will win this war!} she cried, using her strong arms to push off the ground and fling herself at the Skitty for a Tackle of her own. Oh, this was going to be long, hard battle for the little pink Pokemon.

(( Huzzah! =D ))
The Skitty continued running to the other side after she crashed into the Geodude. Ugh! She turned back to look at the rock-like pokemon, exposing her teeth in a feral grin. She was facing her trainer, sho was now on the opposite side of the Geodude.
+No one else has ever woken me up before! They had enough sense not to trod on a Geodude!+
Jasmine rolled her eyes. There's a first time for everything, right? God. +I'm sorry, O Great One, but it was an accident! Besides, who sleeps in the middle of the road?!+ she replied scathingly. Seriously. Go sleep in a bush or something if you want quiet -- but don't just go around stopping in the road! That dim-witted Geodude! Jasmine probably would have yelled this all, plus more, at the other pokemon, if it wasn't for her trainer beside her. Alice was too innocent to swear in front of.
The trainer nodded vigorously at her pokemon's words. Too true! However, when she saw the Geodude throwing itself at her pokemon in a Tackle, she yelled, "Jasmine! Watch out!"
The Skitty turned her head an instant too late, and was thrown back. She snarled, shaking with anger, then, once again, tried to attack the Geodude with a TACKLE.

The Geodude got hit yet again, but she merely laughed. <I look like a rock, you petty Pokemon!> All of the Geodudes picked whichever space they liked. Not a Pokemon or a trainer had disturbed them. Why her? She lifted up into a tree, sticking out her tongue. Then she curled up into a ball. Her Defense Curl attack! Next, she leaped downwards, rolling in a ball.
She was hoping that if the gravity helped, this attack would do even more danger to the Skitty. And that was good, because if this attack hit... it might take out the Skitty. Now there was a good thing that might happen to her. These two things might as well get away and move out of her home! They would pay for waking her up from her beautiful sleep! [/center]

(( My posts are probably going to become much, much shorter, because my muse has run off somewhere. Sorry. D= ))
... Petty? Did that ROCK just call her petty? No way. Nuh-uh. Jasmine spat at the Geodude. +Yeah, you look like a rock. But rocks don't normally get into the middle of a road -- they're usually on the sidelines, where nobody gives a shi --+ the pokemon glanced at her trainer, then back at the Geodude. +Where nobody really cares.+ The pokemon rolled her eyes. It was still amazingly unnatural to have a rock in the path. It's common sense, for Arceus's sake!
The cat pokemon took a sharp breath when she saw the rock pokemon begin rolling towards her. She sprinted out of the way, narrowly avoiding the attack -- her tail was barely brushed by it. She shivered as the rough skin of the Geodude scraped against her tail, then GROWLed cutely, looking inocently at the pokemon. Then she dashed forward for another TACKLE!

[[Eh. Well, we're not all having muses here.]] The Geodude was finally getting a bit tired after all the Tackle attacks the Pokemon had done to her. Her HP was at half, and she wasn't feeling so good. Actually, she was a bit dizzy. Feeling quite angry, she began using a Defense Curl. Then she leapt up and almost used a Tackle attack. But then she decided against it.
<I'm not going because I'm scared,> she spat, clearly angry at not being able to stay. <I just have to eat,> she said. It was obvious that wasn't true, but it was all she could say and the most she could do. The Skitty's attitude was really getting to her. This wasn't going to be fun if the Pokemon kept spitting at her. [/center]

Jasmine's face fell when the Geodude announced that it was going to leave. Even though it was amazingly annoying ... It was fun to battle! She was about to call out to the other pokemon not to leave, and that it could leave when the battle was over, but checked herself. She wouldn't beg to a rock!
Alice, however, was a bit more outspoken when the Geodude was going to leave. A bit more naive, too. "You have to eat?" Alice asked, rather confused. It didn't look like that rock wanted to eat! "But ... but ..." she said, pouting. This was her first battle! She didn't want for it to end like this! She looked at her pokemon, than back at the Geodude. "PLEAASE COULD WE FINISH THIS BATTLE?" she called loudly after the other pokemon.
Jasmine looked at her trainer in horror. Oh, dear Arceus! How embarrassing! But she mumbled, +You could eat afterwards ...+ Jas really did want to battle the other pokemon ... she was just rather irritated because it yelled at them. Bue she would probably do the same.

The Geodude glanced over her shoulder. {Psh. This battle isn't going anywhere anyway! Why do you want to battle when I'm going to win against your puny little cat anyway?} she asked acidly, starting to float off again. Bah. . . Chances were pretty even that the Skitty would win or lose. If it kept getting in those Tackle attacks and the Geodude couldn't get in any attacks, she wouldn't last long anyway. But, Geodude wasn't feeling all that well. Those Tackle attacks, as ineffective as they were, had done some cumulative damage. She didn't want to take the chance of losing and feeling like a silly little rock after declaring that she would win the war. {So I'm leaving now!} she declared abruptly, floating away. [Geodude is Fleeing!] [Allow or Stop Her?]

The Skitty was pissed. AGAIN. So she had the decency to ask for a battle, and that ROCK wants to run?! That's just rude. +OH NO YOU DON'T!+ she yelled, throwing herself at the Geodude with a speed she never thought possible for someone like her. She lunged with her entire body and used a TACKLE!
Alice's mouth dropped open in surprise. Since when did Jasmine get so fast? And ... "Oi! Don't run away!" she yelled at the rock, just realizing that the Geodude was attempting to flee. She silently cheered her pokemon on as she watched her Skitty use a TACKLE attack. "Go, Jasmine!" she whispered under her breath.
(( OHMYGOD. So short. ;; ))

A boy walked down the path of the fabled Route One, his body hunched over beneath his cumbersome backpack. Dark, desperate circles had formed beneath the boy's eyes, which heavy eyelids kept, for the most part, hidden. Not only could his backpack be contributing to his struggle to walk, but his clothes had been weighted down with a rain shower he had to pass through on his way to the laboratory. His blue hoodie was almost black and still quite wet, while his white pants dragged the ground. No doubt that his high, tight white collar was uncomfortable around his neck--reddening marks on his skin were evidence enough for that. His arms swung limp from his shoulders, and he seemed hardly aware of where he was headed. A pokeball was clutched within one of his hands, confirming his status as a trainer. His capability, however, was another question entirely. The sun had seemed to comb most of the wet out of his brown hair, leaving it unimaginably curly, and not without unsightly frizz.
Suddenly, his head arched back and his mouth opened wide, and from the bottom of his throat came an awful sound that somehow passed as a yawn. He blinked and licked his rosy lips before running his stumbling knees into a geodude.
"AAHHHHFFFF--!!!" Harvey bit his tongue instinctively, dropping his previously clutched pokeball to nurse his traumatized knees. An unwanted awakening indeed; he was hardly aware of any other presence, if not at all. His temporarily forgotten pokeball jumped along the dirt towards the other trainer.
((I hope you don't mind me intruding on your thread!))

The female rock, looked behind her catiously, not really believing the Skitty and trainer would put forth an effort to acually follow her. At the sight of the pink and cream blur racing towards her, the rock let out a scream and speed up her hovering spped quite a bit. The Geodude let out a small whimper as she heard the small pitter-pattering off the Skitty's feet right behind her.
For a brief moment there was silence, and hope lifted in the Geodude, perhaps the pokemon had given up the chace! Alas, that was not the case. The Skitty had mearly leapt up in order to crush the rock type into the ground. The Geodude let out a cry of dispair as she was quickly knocked down by a vicious Tackle attack. She didn't move, she had fled because she had feared losing and now that fear had become a reality.
The pokemon didn't even stir when Harvey collided with her still body.
Geodude has been defeated! Skitty gains a level! Capture or move on?

Alice sprinted towards her Skitty, blinking. "Jasmine!" she exclaimed. "You're pretty fast!" The trainer, for now, only had eyes for her pokemon, of whom she was extremely proud of. She scooped up the sweating, panting cat pokemon into her arms, not caring that Jasmine has sweat running down her body. "Good job!" she cheered. The trainer glanced at the Geodude, wondering if she should capture it, when she noticed the other trainer, his cut-off yell heard but not recognized as belonging to a human.
Jasmine, whose fatigue came rushing in on her after she found out the Geodude was fainted ( and, as a result, her energy she had in battle was pretty much gone ), didn't show any signs of acknowledgment to Alice as her trainer congratulated her the first time. However, after the Skitty took in a few deep breaths to calm her jumping muscles, Jas replied, +I did pretty good, didn't I?+ She grinned feebly at her trainer, then tilted her head in confusion as Alice abruptly turned. Jasmine blinked, then it finally registered with her that there was another person approaching them. +Whozzat?+ she asked out loud.
The female trainer slowly walked towards the guy, then noriced his pokeball on the ground, rolling towards her. She rushed forward to pick it up, dusting the little specks of dirt off if it, then stood and walked forward again. "Is this yours?" she asked, smiling. ( which really didn't help her appearance, as she had a naturally cold face ) Alice held out the pokeball. "You're a trainer, right?"
No, duh.
The Skitty looked over Alice's shoulder at the new guy. Huh. Doesn't look like anything special. The cat shrugged, then began ignoring everything, resting her head against her trainer's shoulder and closing her eyes.

The pain that had shot through his knees quickly subsided. Harvey shook it off, along with the doze that had caused the collision in the first place. Still hunched over, the boy frowned at the unconscious geodude before a sound brought his attention to a Skitty; another voice lifted his eyes to a girl who was presumably the Skitty's trainer. Her appearance immediately led Harvey to raise a fastidious eyebrow. He straightened, almost flinching as the wet fabric of his blue hoodie touched his body, (although there was a layer of clothing in between, it could still tingle his skin.) He came to the incredible height of over six feet, eyelids heavy as he looked down at the girl. His characteristic frown still weighted the corners of his thin, cherub lips. He reached out and retrieved his pokeball, reticently, captious gaze still.
"And you're a trainer." He simply stated in a low voice, not bothering to answer the girl's obvious question; his words were fastened together, barely leaving room for spaces. "You should watch where you discard your garbage." As Harvey referred to the knocked-out pokemon, he didn't glance away from her, his black eyes overwhelmingly piercing. Although he did not acknowledge the Skitty, he wondered where she had gotten it--she appeared to be early in her journey, and he did not recall Skitty being one of the starter Pokémon available at the lab.
He stood there in wait--one could say he was patient for a response, but that was really not the case. Rather, Harvey enjoyed the way simple-minded people struggled to respond to him. It was often their words were found arduously.
((..I changed Harvey's name to Tag. c: ))

A pair of Sentret happened to be running through the woods, one laughing in delight as he was catching up to the sprinting Sentret in front of him. The other had an intense look on her face that could be decribed as tension and strain. Their paws pounded the grassy ground, and their bodies fought the bitterly cold wind as they shot through the forest.
<This is too easy!> the male cat-called, causing the female Sentret to grunt and speed up her pace. They were both blasting through the dense foiliage with ease, but soon they came to a clearing and blasted into the leg of Harvey. The female rolled back clutching her nose a pained expression on her face. Her friend quickly followed, blanching at the sight of the two trainers.
<Uh. Um. Hi.> he squeaked.
Sentret has appeared! ::Sentret::
