"On the road again, I can't wait to get on the road again..." Really, that was all she remembered of the song. And that annoyed Aspen to no end. She had that one verse stuck in her head, and she couldn't remember the rest.
She sighed as she fiddled with her now two pokeballs. Obviously, someone had never heard of being careful with their property. Really, who left a pokeball on the side of the road? Of course, seniority won, and she decided to open Gligar's ball first.
In the customary flash of lights (really, did it have to be so bright?), the purple pokemon appeared.
And promptly greeted Aspen by diving at her head.
"Hey! Hey! Stop it! Dangit!" she shrieked, arms waving over her head. Luckily, the Gligar stopped. "Who in the world greets anyone by attacking them! A nice 'hello, how are you?' would have done nicely! Even just hovering would have been appreciated! But nooooo, you greet people by dive-bombing them!"
Huffing, she glared at the Gligar. Dang thing didn't even look ashamed of himself. Though she couldn't help but smile when he flew up and kissed her. It sort of reminded her of those sweet and sour commercials for that one candy....
"Well then, off into the great unknown!" she struck a pose, and walked off down the road with an excited Gligar swooping and sweeping in front of her. This was going to be a looong trip...

A cheery-- albeit horribly off-tune-- song came from up ahead. Splashing could be heard in the rests of the song, which meant that whoever was attempting to sing was having a pretty good time depsite its lack of talent.
If Aspen were to walk ahead a little farther, she would spot a small Wooper tromping around in a muddy little puddle. Well, two actually. It kept bouncing back and forth between the two, giggling and singing its song; "Woop-a woop-a woop a-woop woop!"
It was having so much fun that it probably wouldn't even notice Aspen and her Pokemon if she stood in front of him for an hour. Of course, it might just have been a completely oblivious Pokemon.

"Gligar!" Rikrak swooped in front of Aspen, peridoically hovering and sticking his tongue out at her. She was really going to hit the thing at one point. Really. Honestly.
Yeah. Right. Arceus knows, no matter how annoying a pokemon got, she still wouldn't hit them. But that didn't mean she couldn't imagine doing it.
Of course, when Rikrak swooped away, she was interested. He didn't seem like the type of pokemon to attempt to run away. More like the type to stay and annoy her.
"Gli! Gligar!" Rikrak dove at the Wooper, pulling steeply out of the dive to avoid hitting the Wooper. He flew in wide circles around the other pokemon.
Hmm. So he did greet other people that way. She no longer felt special. Of course, if the Wooper attacked, she didn't know if she would laugh or actually try and help him. Probably help him. Even if a part of her whispered 'masochistic'.

The Wooper gave a startled cry as the Gligar swooped out of nowhere and almost crashed into him. He fell over and looked up in fear as the Gligar circled him and he started to think he was under attack.
{Take this!} he cried, getting to his feet and used Water Gun attack to blast a pressurized jet of water at the circling Gligar. {This'll teach you to attack me! I'll show you I'm not to be messed with!}

<Hey! What's the big idea?!> Rikarak cried, narrowly dodging the Water Gun. <Who attacks innocent pokemon?> He continued his sweeping circles around the Wooper, and stuck his tongue out at the blue pokemon.
"Oh my Arceus. What an idiot," Aspen said to herself. Really, on second thought, she wasn't going to help Rikrak. He was the idiot who dive-dombed people, and then expected them not to retaliate. It was his own fault the Wooper attacked him. What sane person (or pokemon) woudn't?
And then she saw what her Gligar was doing next. Yeah, he really could get that stupid.
Deciding to have a little more fun with the Wooper, Rikarak shot a Poison Sting at the pokemon, purposefully off to the left.

Poison sting hit, and then left a bit of poison in the Wooper sadly. He got up, a bit angry at the Gligar and laughed a water gun attack towards it. The day was cold, and chilly with icy winds, and Wooper wanted to hurry up and get out of here after defeating this battle but, fate didn't care this time.
Wooper was poisoned! Wooper's health is sucked by poison! Wooper used Water gun!

Rikarak almost dodged the next Water Gun. Almost; it clipped his right wing, sending him sprawling. And, he laughed. This was the best game ever! And the Wooper was playing now, too. His turn, now. With a big swoop, he sent a Sand Attack towards the Wooper, before shooting another Poison Sting through the dust.
Did he seriously think this was a game? Because that was the vibe Aspen was getting. Rikrak looked like he was having fun, not battling. It was slightly creepy, as it brought up the question of whether he liked fighting or just thought it was a game.
As Rikrak stuck his tongue out at the Wooper, she concluded he just thought it was a game. Which was nice, she thought, since a sadistic pokemon was not on her list of ideal partners. But it wasn't good to not take battling even partially seriously.
"Oh, well..." she sighed. Maybe they could work on that?

Wooper was blinded a bit by the sand attack, only to have another poisonous needle hit him. This wasn't fair, and he wasn't enjoying himself one bit. Suddenly.. as his health was sucked up again by poison Wooper started to... cry.
Another Wooper appeared, angry this time, and then another.
Uh-oh... three Woopers?
The other two both used water gun as the first continued crying.

Wooper 1's health was sucked up by poison. Wooper 2 and 3 used Water gun!

Aspen hoped that the two new Woopers would make Rikarak take this battle a little more seriously. Especially after getting hit with the Water Gun.
It had the opposite effect.
<Yay! More players!> Rikrak giggled. Giggled. That act alone made Aspen doubt his sanity. And his gender.
<Let's play some more!> he said, sending a Sand Attack towards the Woopers, followed by a Poison Sting aimed at Wooper 2.
Aspen briefly considered sending her other pokemon out to help Rikarak, but she hadn't even met it, really. That was number one on her list of things to do after this battle. Along with teaching Rikarak to listen. She didn't even have enough time to say anything before the Gligar attacked.

Wooper number one.. fainted, thanks to the poison taking effect. This didn't seem very good. Wooper two and three were blinded by the sand attack but, allowed the second one to still get out of the way. The both looked at each other, and called out more help, this Gligar was a lot stronger then they had thought and.. more sneaky. Two more appeared to get into the battle. Now making four little Wooper wanting a good fight instead of facing this playful Pokemon. The first two decided to use Water gun, while the other two used Tail whip.
::wooper:: ::wooper:: ::wooper:: ::wooper::
First Wooper fainted. Gligar gains one level. *new*Wooper one and two used water gun! Wooper three and four used Tail whip!

Okay. Rikarak blinked. They didn't seem to be enjoying this. How odd. He thought this was the coolest. Managing to dodge both Water Guns, he run face-first into a Tail Whip. <Ow!> He shot a Poison Sting blindly, hoping to hit. This game was getting even more interesting!
Okay, this was getting weird. Did these Wooper just wait around to hit something? They were popping up out of nowhere! But, this was getting old. Aspen grabbed the pokeball, throwing it in the air. Two to four was better than 1 to four.
In a flash of light, a Murkrow appeared.
'Murkrow, murkrow....' She racked her mind for information. An offensive attack would be nice. Ah!
"Murkrow, Pursuit!" she commanded, seriously hoping the bird would listen. And, to her surprise, he did.
The Murkrow shot off in a Pursuit towards the nearest Wooper.
Really, she liked this one. He hadn't said a thing, not a peep. And he did look like he was taking this seriously, but she had to wonder what kind of pokemon just listened to a trainer they didn't even know. That was something to investigate.

One Wooper on the far left was hit with poison sting, shaking off the needle furiously. The one on the far right was hit with pursuit, only to shake it off.
Wooper one decided on a mud shot, and slung mud at the Gligar to reduce the speed of the flying bat. Wooper two used mud sport, covering the ground with sticky mud to make it resistant to any electrical moves. Wooper three and four decided on a tail whip, shaking their rear ends at the two Pokemon together.
Wooper One used Mud Shot! Wooper Two used Mud sport! Wooper Three and Four used Tail Whip!

Mostly, Rikarak managed to dodge the mud. However, what did land on him would not come off as he shook his wing, looking at it confused. He continued smiling, though, and his large swooping circles around the group. Deciding on a move, he shot another Sand Attack at them.
'Okaaay?' Aspen thought, confused. What in the world would a Mud Sport do? Neither of the pokemon were electric, or had electric attacks. 'Oh well, not my problem.'
She waited a moment, used to Rikarak attacking without her, before realizing that Estayer wasn't one to take the initiative.
"Okay, Peck! And Rikarak, actually attack you idiot!" She was really getting into this now. If only she could say the same for Rikarak, as the idiot still wasn't taking this seriously.
Obediently and silently, Estayer attacked using Peck. He was starting to slightly creep Aspen out. Really, that quiet, that obedient? It was a miracle.
Flying in his wide circles, Rikrak suddenly shot a Poison Sting at the Wooper, giggling all the while. <Come on! Play some more!>

Sand attack seemed to blind the Wooper a bit, so they couldn't dodge the next attacks.
The Wooper on the far left was hit with tackle and the poison sting, thus, becoming poisoned. This angered the Wooper more, and the other three shot water gun at the Gligar.
While the first Wooper, used a growl at the Murkrow, becoming fed up with what the Pokemon kept doing.
Wooper one was Poisoned! Wooper one's health was hurt by poison! Wooper two, three and four used Water gun! Wooper one used Growl!

Rikarak laughed hard as he dodged the Water Guns. With a happy cry he kicked up more sand for another Sand Attack, trying his previous tactic of shooting Poison Sting though the sand. <Come on! Play like you mean it!> he said, sticking his tongue out.
Still as calm and somber as before, Estayer hovered, showing no outward side-effects from the growl, and awaiting orders.
"Astonish, Estayer!" Mimi called, hoping he would interpret her split-second naming. To her happiness, he did, attacking with Astonish. They would need to faint on or preferably two of them soon, as Rikarak couldn't keep dodging the attacks, and neither could Estayer. But they were doing quite well.

Two of the Wooper ran off when the sand attack was used. They were very tired of being blinded but, two remained, trying to battle this to the end.
Only two Wooper!
Wooper one was hurt by poison and then hit with a poison sting. He was very annoyed at this, and went in for a tackle attack towards the Gligar.
The other Wooper dodged the astonish, only to run at the Murkrow with a tackle of her own.
Wooper ::male:: was hurt by poison Wooper ::male:: used Tackle! Wooper ::Female:: used Tackle!

Rikarak laughed, even as he was hit with the Tackle. That didn't mean he didn't use the close distance to his advantage, shooting a Poison Sting at the Wooper, even as he blew it a raspberry.
That was good, now the odds were even, Aspen thought. Two to two, one for each. She would only admit it to a small part of herself, but she could understand why Rikarak enjoyed this as a game. She wasn't even fighting and she was getting a little adrenaline rush. Really, though, she did wish Alex was here, though she tried not to let it dampen her mood. He would've gotten a kick out of this.
"Okay, Estayer, Peck!" she said, hoping that the Murkrow had enough common sense to dodge without prompting. Arceus knows Rikrak needed common sense. He didn't even try to dodge.
To Aspen's happiness, yes, Estayer had the common sense to dodge the Tackle. And, he used it to is advantage, flying over the Wooper and Pecking downward.

Wooper one, the male, suddenly fell to the ground as the poison sting hit him. He hadn't fainted, he was just extremely low on health. He curled into the fetal position, his stomach suddenly flaring up in pain. The poison had spread greatly. That was the terrible thing about being wild, it meant that there was no trainer to take you to a pokemon center. To a tamed pokemon, getting poisoned was no big deal. But to a wild pokemon, if it had spread far enough and was strong enough, it could mean death. "Woooop..." he said softly. He in extreme pain and could only look up at his friend with pleading eyes.
The female whipped around towards him. She had to finish this battle quickly so she could get him back home where they had multiple potions and anditote they had swiped from trainers. As she took the tackle for him, she realized she couldn't finish this battle off alone. "WHOOOOOOOOOPER," she shouted at the top of her lungs. It was a call for help that was quickly answered.
Three large Quaqsires ran over to her. They were obviously family by the way they greeted her. They turned to Estayer and Rikarak and....snarled? It sounded like a snarl, but who knew. The three of them used mud-bomb simultaneously. Not only was it a physical attack, it also lowered the accuracy sharply. If Aspen had any sense in that head of hers, she'd back off quickly.

Aspen's eyes widened. Okay, definitely not good. Three Quagsires against her two, low-leveled pokemon? Yeah, that would work well. Especially since the three looked ticked.
"Okay, both of you pull back! Retreat! Put up the freakin' white flag!"
Luckily, the two flying-types were able to fly fast enough, dodging the mud bombs, though barely. And Rikarak still looked like he wanted to go back and 'play'.
Aspen grabbed his tail, though that wouldn't do much if he really wanted to go back. "Nu-uh, idiot. You may be stupid, but only someone suicidal would fight those things. Hell hath no fury like a mad parent."
She switched her attention to the group of pokemon. "Okay, you know what, we'll just keep on walking, as soon as you leave, of course." she said in her best, calm, 'I'm not going to hurt you' voice.
No way was she walking in their direction, and they were sort of blocking the path. So, all they could really do was stand there (or in Rikrak and Estayer's place, hover) and wait for them to leave. And Aspen really, really hoped they would just leave.

The three Quaqsires looked like they had something else in mind besides running away, they knew they had the advantage and the brawn to pummel the group into the dirt, but seeing the extreme condition of their fallen wooper friend they had no choice but to leave quickly for risk of death.
The largest Quaqsire shot a fierce glare at the trainer before speaking quietly as the others quickly made their way back home with their fallen comrade. <You were lucky this time. Leave. And never come back.> he snarled, before whipping around and leaving.
A Pidgey had been watching the battle with bearly supressed interest, she had been about to dive down and join the group when the Quaqsires appeared. She had quickly called off the attack, knowing first hand how powerful those lumbering creatures could be.
She darted down to join the group and hovered in front of the trainer, about to speak when her eyes trailed down to her neck. Eyes widening with astonishment the flying type quickly snatched the sapphire choker and flew away.
<This is really pretty! I think I'm going to take this!> she yelled in glee before flying away quickly.
