She was here because she felt she could be here. Crystal was only here because she was ready. "Hmmm... which Pokemon?" She hadn't given really that much thought to the whole thing. Turning around, she decided to stay in the city for the time being. She wasn't ready for a battle with the gym leader yet.
"Okay, Flare." Crystal let out her first Pokemon, Vulpix. It was very jumpy and excited to finally be out of her Pokeball again, and began talking about future adventures. There could be Pokemon all over the place, and Flare wouldn't notice. Crystal sighed as her Pokemon went on and on about everything they would do together as a team.

Further down the road was a group of people, obscuring whatever it was they were gathered around. There seemed to be screaming coming from the crowd, and the people jumped back every now and then, before surging forward, gasping. Investigate?

[[Sorry, last time was a crap post... because my mom was watching. >>]] Crystal had been playing with her Pokemon, and when she finally noticed the huge crowd, she looked rather excited. After all, playing with Pokemon was no match for investigating. She loved looking at all the new things in the world, and what had happened. After all, she was a rather interesting girl, and loved to examine what happened in the spaces she hadn't seen before. All in all, she wasn't going to let such a good opportunity to pass.
"C'mon Flare," she said, beckoning her Pokemon over. She tried to squeeze her way through the crowd, but didn't succeed. "Can someone help?" She shouted over the noise. Maybe she could help. She wasn't the best Pokemon Trainer, of course not, but she still had several Pokemon. If this wasn't a problem, well, she still wanted to see! Not just stand around, doing nothing but stand.
Flare wasn't feeling happy. She didn't like the people pushing around this place. The route was a much better place, as it wasn't nearly as crowded. She hoped that they would get to the gym soon; not go in more humongous crowds that nearly suffocated her.

The crowd was thick with panicing people, many were screaming, some just to scream and up the panic meter and cause an uproar. Other people were screaming for help, at least that was something benficial compaired to other people. Some were attempting to help the situation, but unarmed with pokemon or any armor of any sort were defenless and were very timid. Overall, the mass of people was a chaotic mess. They needed someone to take charge.
If Crystal was able to get through the mad mob, she would be able to notice a rather large Grimer seemingly overpowering a small, Oddish that seemed to belong to a sobbing little girl in the crowd. The Grimer was crushing the weak grass type under it's sludge, and the Oddish s movements were growing still. The Grimer meanwhile would lash out at anyone that would appraoch. The little girl was being restrainer by her mother, and she watched on with horror as the Oddish was suffocating.
They need help! Will you and your pokemon offer assistance?
::Grimer:: is suffocating 's ::oddish::

When Crystal finally managed to get through the incredibly noisy mob of people, she tried to quiet them down. She didn't exactly succeed in quieting them, but then walked over to the Grimer and Oddish.
"Flare, use Ember!" Crystal commanded, pointing a finger at the Grimer. She was hoping that nothing would harm the Oddish underneath the Grimer, but she never knew. Oh well. She was just going to have to hope for the best!
Flare jumped towards the Grimer, not caring whether the Grimer was sticky or icky or not. She wasn't the kind of female Pokémon who hated dirt and yuck. She was just a tomboy, or whatever you wanted to call her! When she leapt for the Grimer, she formed several beads of her Ember attack in her mouth. Then, she shot them at the Grimer. She hoped that this battle would be over soon. It wasn't easy battling with so many people around her. She wasn't used to this kind of condition; after all, in the route there weren't huge crowds, much less huge panicked crowds.

As soon as someone stepped up to take charge of the situation, the crowd began to settle down straight away. You could tell a sigh of relief had washed over the crowd, and now instead of pancking people, yelling; the crowd consisted of childern and adults alike watching the battle intently and quietly.
The little girl's tears began to cease, but she screamed out a loud and frantic 'NO!' as the the fire attack flew towards the Grimer and her Oddish. She nearly tore free of her mother's momentarily loose grasp and into the flames. With luck and motherly instict she was tugged away and the battle continued without any interruptions.
The Grimer let out an angered roar as the unspected attack pummeled him in the side, the burning flames sinking into his body, only to be extinguished. Growling, the poison type, slowly slithered off the Oddish, no longer crushing the pokemon. The Grimer had a better opponent now. Another pokemon to demolish.
Without hesitation, the experience Grimer quickly sent out a cloud of noxious gas. Human's weren't affected by the poison, but it could be dangerous if a pokemon breathed it in. The Grimer rested, safely in admist the cloud of poison. Knowing the fire-type wouldn't come near her unless it wanted to be poisoned.
The Oddish was lying on the ground, dazed and stunned. The Poison Gas was inching it's way towards the pokemon, it was barely hanging on, you might want to save it before it completely faints.

[[Poison Gas?]]
The Poison Gas hit the Vulpix, but she wasn't poisoned - yet. She struggled forward desperately, eying the Grimer suspiciously. So he was the maker of all this problem, all this noise and panic around the area. Not a good thing, and she was going to stop it. She sighed, but then discovered it was not a good idea to sigh inside of a cloud of poisonous gas. Then she coughed, and bit back the panic that was engulfing her as a full cloud. She felt as if she could faint from what she realized she was in.
Crystal hurried forward, eying the Grimer as she slowly and cautiously inched towards the Oddish. When she reached the Pokemon, her hands shot out and she tried to grab the Oddish. Hopefully, it would work as she wanted it to work. Because the Poison Gas had no effect on her, she was glad for that aspect. Reaching for hte Pokemon, she tugged it towards the crowd and towards its owner, obviously the girl.
Vulpix closed her eyes determinedly and then opened them. Her eyes were burning bright fire, and she hurled several sharp beads towards the Grimer. Her eyes were hard as she watched her Ember attack dance towards the Grimer. She could only hope that the attack would hit and she and Crystal would be done here.

The little girl continued sniffling as the other trainer attempted to get her precious Oddish out of danger, shivering in excitement when Crystal had the Oddish wrapped in her arms. She didn’t want to cry out or draw attention to the trainer carrying her Oddish to safety, but she was just so little. And so excited. She ran right out of her mother’s grasp, through the poisonous cloud, but as soon as she did that, she started to feel a little dizzy. An older human might not be fazed by the Poison Gas, but she was young and sensitive to these types of things. The girl couldn’t move from her spot, and her mother had to lunge into the danger zone just to scoop the little girl up in her arms, giving a fearful look to Crystal and the Oddish before retreating to safety.
From the Grimer’s point of view, everything was going rather smoothly. Its poisonous gases soon disappeared into the air, but the stench from its poisonous sludge was enough to make it chuckle. It couldn’t notice its own scent, but it knew that everyone else could, because all of the spectators were spread out, trying to resist its putrid scent.
<That’s all you got? How annoying you turned out to be!> The Grimer cackled at the attacking Embers, striking against its body without much effect. It raised its arms high into the air, gathering the most toxic sludge it owned, before launching it at the Vulpix. It was a Disable attack, hopefully the scent of the toxins could reach her, and wipe out that annoying Ember attack for a couple of turns.
