Ghostfreak was taken aback by this sudden appearance and therefore was hit by the attack, However, he had somehow managed to survive. <Too many of them. I'll have to retreat> he thought angrily, seeing as he hated losing. He quickly returned himself to his Pokeball, which was lying next to Chris' scarred hand. With a huge amount of effort and energy, Chris managed to stand. "Thank you" he said to the robed figure. However, he fell to the ground again, still very weak.

"Whaaaa~" Ebony-haired girl was puzzled. Who in the world was this, and why did he interrupt? Sighing, she re-called Daniel. "Hey, MISTER!" Jay huffed, grabbing him by the arm. "Who do you think you are?"

" Vincent Valentine, at your service." He bowed slightly and then chuckled lightly. " I felt like I had to end it, so I ended it." He then wrenched his hand from her grasp rather suddenly, rubbing where she had grabbed him for dramaisting it, haveing done drama type acts many times before.

Puzzled, dark-haired woman tilted her head to the side. "You're weird." She blurted, reaching for Nero for support. Former Typhlosion only sighed, taking a step backwards away from her.
"What?" Scowling, Jaymie crossed her arms in front of her chest. "Well SOMEBODY is going to battle me! Daniel needs to gain a level and evolve!"
"You're pathetic." Nero told her glumly, shifting his gaze to Vincent. "Tell her she's pathetic. She likes it."

Although Chris was weak from the Poison Sting, he released Abel once more. "I've got enough energy to battle" Chris said, shaking slightly.

"Really?" Trainer beamed, sending out her Nidoran once more. Poison-type shot Charmander a lopsided grin, lunging forward and aiming to tackle Abel.
Meanwhile, subdued Nero tapped Vincent on the shoulder. "End what? His suffering? Her pathetic battle?" Voice was hushed; if Jay caught him talking this way, she'd put him in a headlock for sure.

Abel was still weakened from earlier, yet he managed to leap over the Nidoran and use Scratch. "Good job Abel" Chris said, still breathing heavily in an attempt to lessen the remaining pain in his body.

Undamaged until now, Daniel was still brimming with energy. With a growl, he charged at speedy Charmander, using his sharp horn as a makeshift-weapon.
"That's the way!" Jaymie loved it when she didn't have to order her pokemon around; most of them were smart enough do know what to do without her interference.
Except for one, it seemed. Emerald eyes glanced at Nero quickly, who was still standing next to Vincent.

Abel stood his ground strangely enough. At the very last second, he leapt to the side, firing an Ember attack as he jumped. <Chris, you need to rest. I'll take this battle myself> he told his trainer, who was struggling to stay conscious. It seemed the pain was starting to become too much for Chris to bear.

Nero's keen eyes noticed Chris' discomfort, and he bit his lip. Battling in this condition simply wasn't right. However, he knew Jay'd never listen to reason. The only thing he could do was pray it was over quickly.
Meanwhile, chubby Nidoran squinted through the embers. Most of them bounced off harmlessly; tough hide served as protection from minor flames. Some of the hotter embers singed his face, though. Daniel cringed, firing off more poison-needles in retaliation. Hundreds of sharp points raced towards Abel, far too many to dodge easily.

Abel knew he wasn't going to be able to dodge them all, so he did the next best thing. He fired more Embers, this time aimed at the Poison Sting attack. Most of them were knocked away, but a few that had evaded the Embers hit him hard. Abel scowled as he pulled these barbs out of himself, knowing that the poison had sunk in.

"Niiiido!" Daniel cried, too slow to dodge the fierce barage of embers. Feeling they would never end, male Nidoran dashed forward, eyes closed tightly, looking to tackle the source of the flames - Abel.
Trainer couldn't see through the thick smoke the embers caused. Emerald eyes squinted, trying to make out Danny's chubby pink form. Taking a few cautious steps toward Nero, she looped her arm around his for support. He sighed, not having the heart to cease their sudden physical contact, despite the blush that threatened to stain his cheeks.

Abel charged forward as well. <Looks like it's time for a little contest of bravery> he thought, preparing his claws. The objective was to get underneath the Nidoran, flip him into the air and fire Embers into his underbelly.

Daniel's sharp horn nailed Abel, penetrating the lizard's tough skin before he was flipped into the air by Char's razor-claws. Sensitive stomach was set alight, Nidoran squealed in pain. When he finally landed back on the ground, tired poison-type collapsed into the dirt. Experience had won out over level. Daniel's first battle had been a disaster.
"Oh!" Jay cried, hastily recalling her precious pokemon. Female paused, before shakily adding, "well kid, it looks like you have a pretty strong Charmander. You just wait until next time."

Chris smiled. "Thanks" he said, allowing Abel to run up to him and support him. "Krystal, I need your help too" he said, releasing his Crystal Espeon. The Pokemon immediately ran up to his leg and brushed against it affectionately.

"Krystal, not now" Chris said, shaking from his weakness. Krystal realised the problem and stopped acting all lovey, helping Chris to stand.

[No, vincent, because your pokemon is an extremely high level and didn't actually do any fighting - just attacked Gastly once]
Jaymie blinked. "I think you need to find a pokecenter and rest, kid," She said shakily, grabbing him by the arm. "Maybe your pokemon can teleport you out... I would help, but I don't have any psychic pokemon..." Female trainer trailed off, not knowing exactly what else to say. What could she say?
Her partner offered a weak smile. "You need to rest, kid."

Chris shook his head. "No, I can't rest" he gasped. "I need to find her. I can't rest until I find her." Krystal looked up at him. Suddenly, everyone could hear Krystal as she began to telepathically talk. "Chris, I know you want to find your sister, but you won't be able to if you risk your life constantly" she told him softly, but sternly. "It's just a shame I don't know how to Teleport, otherwise I'd have you out of here." Chris continued to refuse however, saying how he had to find his sister. At least, that was before his eyes closed from lack of energy. Krystal sighed. "Too late. He's out cold" she muttered.
((Her words are in speech marks because it's telepathic.))

With a grunt, Nero hoisted the boy onto his shoulders. "We're going to the pokecenter anyways," Orange-haired man glanced at concerned Espeon, offering a reassuring smile.
Jaymie didn't move. She didn't react. Brushing a stray ebony lock away from her face, she fought back the tears. She couldn't help but feel terribly guilty about Chris' condition. After all, it was her pokemon that had caused this whole mess.
Her friend, noticing her grim disposition, sent her the same reassuring smile he'd offered Krystal. "It's okay, Jay." He whispered. She shrugged but followed, and the pair swiftly navigated the narrow paths and found the exit.
