Kurai pulled her jacket a bit closer to her. It was a bit cold that morning but all and all not to bad. She had spent some time in the previous city, even had won her first badge. But now she was finally moving on to the next city, her vulpix, Shiru at her side.
In the distance, she saw the large bridge up ahead making her way there. So far she hadn't seen too much of anything yet but assumed something sooner or later would present itself to her. For now she was just enjoying the quiet morning. Shiru seemed to enjoy it as well.

((btw, badges have been updated. Now, they should fit in a trainer's card perfectly ^__^))
On the bank, right next to the bridge, something green was sticking out of the mud. It was moving, although the movements were getting slower and slower. It seemed to be trying to... escape?

((Yeah I realized. -_- I just haven't fixed it yet))
Something caught the corner of Kurai's eyes. Walking over to where she thought she saw something move. A slightly odd sight, it appeared to be something that was perhaps caught in the mud. Shiru, too, was curious about it. Assuming it was some type of pokemon, Kurai carefully bent down and softly touched the green of whatever it was that was hidden under the mud. Shiru stayed back and intently watched away from the mud. She did not want to get her fur unnecessarily dirty.

The texture was bumpy, like a leaf. The touch made the thing move even more and earnest, and frm under the green top, a blue bottom was seen and a weak "Loooo..." was heard. More writhing, trying to break free...

Wrapping her fingers around, Kurai decided to try and pull this pokemon out. Judging by what she saw, it seemed to be a trapped Lotad. She gave two very light tugs, then on the third try gave a real pull, trying to release the pokemon from its muddy entombment.

The pokemon squealed as it was pulled. On the third tug, it was released in its muddy imprisonment. The moment it was free, it clambered on the trainer, hugging her with its tiny paws, grateful. "Looo... lotad! Lotaaaddd....." Mud still stuck on its body but it couldn't care less. It was freeeeeeee~!!!!

Kurai was a bit surprised and relieved when the pokemon was released from the mud. When it clung to her, the Lotad still had some mud on it, but Kurai didn't mind too much. The pokemon was pretty cute. "Um, you're welcome. It was no problem, really," she said as she made her way to a clean patch of grass to sit on. She gave a small giggle as she sat down, imagining how the little pokemon had gotten itself stuck in the first place. Shiru stepped forward to inspect the pokemon for herself. "Vuuul, vulpix" +You should be more careful. I assume you are alright now?+

The pokemon nodded. <I'm okay now. Um... wait here for a moment!> It jumped off the trainer before scurrying in a nearby bush. A few seconds later, it came back with a bundle of cloth it dragged behind him. <Here! This is my token of appreciation!> The pokemon then scurries away, making sure to stay far from the banks.
Do you open the bag?

Kurai blinked for a moment as she watched the little pokemon scurry off. She watched it go off making sure it didn't get into anymore trouble as it ran off. Then, turning towards the bag, she reached for it and opened it up, curious as to what it could possibly be.

Many items were stored in the bag. You recieved: x2 x1 x1 An egg also rolled out of the makeshift bag. Wow... looks like this lotad scavenged quite a lot of stuff! ((I'll PM about the egg))

((Sorry for being a bit inactive, a few things came up but everything is fine now and I'll be back on regularly)) Kurai gave a whistle after seeing all the stuff in the bag. Then after packaging all of that she carefully picked up and examined the egg. It didn't seem like a very rare pokemon was inside but she didn't care. She slowly got up, and she and Shiru continued moving, wondering what else they might encounter.

((lol your absense made it so that the egg would like hatch... now, ish xD))
In the water, something jumped out before flopping back in again. There was definately a pokemon in there! Once again, the pokemon, red and blue in color, jumped onto the air before diving back in.

((I know ^-^'))
Just then, something in the water had caught the young trainers eye. She had not gotten a good enough look as to what it was, and being curious about it, Kurai released Rika, her new mareep. The sheep pokemon looked around to make sure nothing to scary was near by. "Rika, aim a thundershock at the ripple in the water, ok?" She was hoping to draw out the pokemon from its hiding place beneath the water. After taking a few moments to gather up some courage, Rika did as she was instructed.

The Magikarp was electro-shocked, the fish flying into the air, angry and agitated. It tried to attack the Mareep with a Flail attack, furious.

Rika gave out a small cry as she was knocked back. Kurai was actually glad that the pokemon had been a Magikarp, a pokemon that her shy little sheep could take. Even so, it must be stronger than the average Magikarp due to the fact that it knew strong attacks like flail, and not just splash. "Give it a thundershock, Rika, and hold your ground," the young trainer instructed. Luckily Rika had an advantage over the fish pokemon, in the respects of being an electric type. This was all good, considering Kurai wanted to boost the shy pokemon's confidence more than anything else if she was going to use her in the next gym battle.

"Magikarp!!" It bellowed, jumping out of the water to avoid the thundershock, and then making a 'Plop!' as it splashed back into the liquid with a triumphant grin. Then it jumped back up, and used a Tackle on the sheep pokemon.

The attack hit, but this time Rika was a bit more prepared for it. Kurai would have to introduce her to the idea of dodging, but later. The Magikarp had closed the distance by using tackle and so now there was an opening. "Now, use tackle while it's still up close." The Mareep lunged towards the Magikarp full force, there was no hesitation this time.

"Magi magikarp!" It bellowed, obviously hit hard with the tackle. It moaned sluggishly as it fell back into the water with another Splash. "Magikarp!" It roared, splashing water at the sheep pokemon. However, it didn't really do anything..

The Mareep tensed for a moment before realizing that the splash was not really all that threatening. "Now, use a thundershock," a fairly strong thundershock shot towards the Magikarp. The previous hit had Rika feeling more confident. Kurai herself, was anxious to actually catch this pokemon. As weak as Magikarp are, this one was fairly strong, and if she did catch it, the trainer would have high hopes of it one day becoming a Gyardos.

The jolt of electricity only served to anger Magikarp more. It dealt heavy damage to the somewhat pathetic creature, and with that it used an unexpected Flail attack to get some revenge.
