<Please listen> Kalina begged over the sandstorm. <I only wish to find a Clefairy. Once that is done, I'll happily leave. So please...let me pass.> She didn't want any confrontation at the moment.

It considered her plea for a moment, rubbing it's chin thoughtfully. After several tense moments, it narrowed it's eyes and charged at her. <Not good enough! Prepare for combat!> Spinning around like a top, it picked up speed, aiming for the trainer's legs. Rapid Spin might not have been the most powerful attack, but Baltoy was sure it would make her flee.

Using what she had learned from Spoink, Kalina managed to leap over the Baltoy's attack. <Sorry, but I really don't have the time for this. Scarlet, go!> she yelled, releasing Vulpix. <Use Ember!>

Still spinning, faster and faster, Baltoy had no time to dodge the oncoming flames. It winced, body rapidly heating to an almost unbearable point. Gritting it's teeth, it opted for a crash-landing against a jagged rock.
Dizzy and burned, it whirled around to face it's new opponent. <Ohohoho, finally a worthy adversary! Bring it on!> It staggered forward, double vision affecting it's balance.

<We really don't have the time to mess around> Scarlet growled, attacking with Ember once more. <Just let us pass!>

<You'll have to beat me first> Baltoy grinned smugly, dodging to the left. Unfortunately, it dodged directly into the flames, and was left with a charred outside. It growled to itself. Damn, this Vulpix was tougher than it looked.
Using it's arms to dig into the ground, it sent a layer of mud flying through the air at Scarlet.

Blinded by the mud, Scarlet flailed around wildly. Not wanting any pain to come to her, Kalina recalled Scarlet and sent out her Jade Munchlax. "Alright, use Metronome!" she commanded. Wiggling his fingers around, the Munchlax ended up using Splash and flopping around on the floor.

Baltoy's wild mud-flinging screeched to a halt when it witnessed the pathetic excuse for an attack. Incredulous, it staggered backwards. <W-what the hell are you doing?>

<It's Metronome> Kalina sighed, looking away. <Try Metronome one more time.> The Munchlax, looking at her for food, sighed and began Metronome again (which turned out to be Vine Whip).

Appearing from out of seemingly nowhere, the vines struck Baltoy hard, leaving a slightly green criss-cross pattern along it's chest. It fumed, pounding it's fists against the ground. <Damn that hurts! But I won't be defeated so easily...>
It's body stiffened, toughening up it's thick rocky hide and raising it's defense.

<Okay Munchlax, try another Metronome> Kalina suggested. Bored of using the same move, the Munchlax still obeyed, wiggling it's finger as the ground began to shake. It was Magnitude, and judging by the strength of the shaking, level 5.

Baltoy tightened it's muscles, the effects of harden buffering some of the damage it would have received. Quickly, the previous attack was repeated, raising it's defense even higher. <Come on, just give up and go home! You're never going to get by me...>

<Munchlax, another Metronome!> Kalina commanded. Munchlax rolled his eyes, thinking about how ridiculous this was. Regardless, he did it one more, this time letting off an Ice Beam attack. ((I'm just coming up with random attacks here))

ooc - I know. I trust you.
Completely encased in a tomb of ice, Baltoy was rendered completely immobile. It struggled to free itself, unable to move even the slightest bit.
Baltoy has been defeated! Each participating pokemon has gained 1 level! To attempt a capture, you know the drill.

Returning Munchlax, Kalina decided to release Solaris for protection. "Come on, we're continuing up the mountain" she said. "If we do find a Clefairy, you should be able to converse with it better, seeing as you both have a connection to space."

ooc - brace for epic. The sounds of soft crying shattered the otherwise silent mountain. It grew louder and louder, until finally a disturbing pokemon staggered out from behind a boulder. It clutched it's wrists, blood seeping onto the ground and pooling below it. It let out a choked sob as it laid eyes on the trainer.

"Oh my goodness, what happened to you!?" Kalina asked in shock, kneeling down. "Solaris, we need some bandages and quick." As Solaris was getting the bandages out of the storage dimension, Kalina asked <What happened to you? Who did this to you?>

<I did it to myself> it sniffed, refusing to make eye contact with Kalina. <My life is just a black abyss. So dark.> Staring at the ground, a tiny smile formed on it's face as it saw the blood. Perfect.

<Oh my, why would you do such a thing to yourself?> Kalina asked, giving the Clefairy a gentle pat on the head. <Why is your life so dark? Would you like to talk about it while I bandage your cuts?> Holding the bandages, she began to wrap them around the poor Pokemon's arms.

It relaxed in her grip, allowing it's wrists to be bandaged. <No, I don't wanna talk about it. Just trust me... The only point of living is one day dying...> A hot tear slid down it's cheek as it spoke, eyes still fixed on the pools of blood.
