Quil approached the entrance of the underground cavern, a smirk played on the edges of his scowl. He had a small flashlight, but he doubted he would use it much, he was a pokemorph after all, and due to the fact that his morph spent time burrowed in the sand. He could see in the dark, an handy trait for sure. Releasing Rolo, his Phanpy from his pokeball, the two continued down onto the trail without a word.
They understood words were unnecessary and hindering pests, so they hardly spoke unless in a battle. So there was silence all around except for the dripping of water somewhere in the cavern and occasional sounds of invisible Pokemon shifting. Quil wanted a powerful ground type team, and he was hoping he would get some new recruits today.
Darkness enveloped the cave, it was so quiet, so restful and so undisturbed. Quil sighed happily, perhaps he should set up camp here. It wasn't too far away from Team Death either, mulling this thought over, the pair continued down the cave all light gone, the entrance far behind them. Rolo frowned slightly, he was surprised no Pokemon had popped up yet. He wanted to battle! His eyes scanned the cavern, but that didn't do much good, his eyesight was weak and being in the dark didn't help. He realized on his sense of smell to scout out enemies.

A ringing bell echoed throughout the Underground Cave, its soft and rhythmical chimes became even louder and louder. But in such a huge cave, those echoes could be carried for miles and miles. Who knew where the sound could even come from? Was it even a Pokemon?
Whatever the case, the noises seemed to be coming from behind Quil and Rolo. A disgustingly happy and blissful Chingling was making her way through the Cave. Every hole, every rock, every pathway was familiar to her. Even some of the Wild Pokemon here she became rather friendly with.
It was rare to see a Pokemon Trainer here, so her eyes were forced to adjust as she stopped before the trainer. Giving a tiny little curtsy before beginning to speak.
<Hello there. I'm afraid that we haven't met. My name is Chi, and its a pleasure to meet you.> She started while smiling towards the Phanpy. A Pokemon species that she was more than familiar with, but she couldn't help but be surprised at this one's sullen expression. Very different from the cute ones that went exploring with her.

Quil could hear a faint revobraing in his ears, he more felt the vibration and he looked around, slightly confused. The cavern echoed, so it sounded like there was an army of bell ringers coming at them. It started out soft, but as it grew closer and closer, the chiming became so loud, he had to grimace. How could any... thing think that horrible sound was music? Rolo grunted in annoyance and his light blue head swung around wildly as he attemped to find the pokemon. Quil, ignoring the headache he was now getting, he closed his eyes and focused all his senses in pinpointing the sound. Behind him... Quil spun slowly, relizing that the sound was softer, perhaps because it wasn't moving as much.
A delicate Chingling, stood in front of Quil, blinking with its wide, innocent eyes. Her eyes must be adjusting to the dark, Quil figured. Quil scowled in distaste, this pokemon would be no help to him. It would simply attract uneeded attention on his search for a /real/ pokemon. An idea blossomed, and Quil spoke quietly. "Hey. Chi." he spoke gruffly, directing the Chingling's attention away from Rolo and on him. "Do you know your way around this cave? Do you know where there are some strong pokemon?" he questioned, voice rough and gravely. "It would be... nice if you could help us." he added, glaring at the small pokemon, his tone communicating something different than what he spoke.
Rolo was slightly suprised that the small, but very noisy pokemon was talking to him. <H-hi. I'm Rolo.> was his greeting, the Phanpy acaully seemed flustered that Chi was talking to him. Like Trainer, like pokemon. Except that Rolo was still in training and was not used to talking to someone out of nowhere. He didn't know when to keep his tounge or when to speak. Rolo nodded at Quil's words, figuring that keeping quiet would be the easiest thing to do.

The Chingling was about to keep chatting with the Phanpy when Quil got her attention. To be able to help out was what she lived for, and was more than eager to listen to the Pokemorph's request. Even if she didn't know the humans name, she could at least talk with the Phanpy in case she got bored.
<Strong Pokemon? A lot of us are pretty tough...But my two friends in this Cave are awesome. Machop is the best! He can lift up any Geodude with only one arm! But my other friend Diglett is super fast. He always wins in our games of tag. I can only take you to one at a time...Knowing them...> She replied, tilting her head in a cute manner as she looked up at Quil. It was his choice on who he wanted to meet, though one had to agree that she had an unusual group of friends.
The Chingling gave a nod of her head to Rolo, thinking that his shyness around her was adorable. He obviously wasn't used to being social around other Pokemon, but already in her scheming mind, she was planning on befriending this little Phanpy. It was her goal to be friends with as many Pokemon and people as possible, to get to know them, to understand them, to learn new things about herself, it was all wonderful. Something she wanted to share with just about everyone she met.

The small Phanpy was looking extremely nervous, when Chi turned to him to start talking to him once again. Rolo let out a sigh of relief when she answered Quil first, more time to think before he spoke. He had no idea why, but he was very awkward and nervous around this pokemon. It probably had something to do with how he didn't talk much, and so pokemon didn't talk to him much. He cursed his poor upbringing, who said he couldn't be social and have the same beliefs as Quil. He attempted to think of something that could be considered good conversation.
Quil nodded as the eager Chinling started chattering about her two friends, the small pokemon was apprentently happy to help out. Quil thought as she rambled on, a small pang in his chest caused him to wince when Chi mentioned a Diglett. Quil suddendly had the crazy urge to go, go and get that Diglett. He knew though, the effects of having that pokemon would not be good. Quil could fight down that small surge of hope that emerged in his heart. His brother, could he possibly be here? Quil sighed, he was cruising for a bruising if he picked the Diglett. The Machop sounded pretty impressive, Geodudes were pretty darn heavy. Diglett's were slightly more uncommon though, with a sigh after fighting an internal battle, he turned to the pokemon again a small scowl on his face and his eyes guarded. "Let's go see the Diglett." he spoke, looking around the cavern.
<What do you mean knowing them?> Rolo asked, possible reasons milling through his mind. <Do they fight?> he asked, feeling proud at the answer he came up with. <Thanks for helping by the way.> he added, glancing at his trainer nervously, pluckily he was too procuppied in his thoughts to listen to Rolo.

The Chingling gave a thoughtful look into the air as she began to lead Quil and Rolo down a fork in the road, something important to note if they wanted to ever leave the Cave. Being a psychic type made her sensitive to another emotions, and she was often forced to keep herself from accidentally scanning a Pokemon's feelings. It was wrong to read into such personal stuff, but her powers were so new to her, that she couldn't help it sometimes.
<They fight with each other. They don't get along at all with the other, even if they're friends with me. So I'm always caught in the middle.> She explained, finding it rather awkward to put into words the situation she was put in. But she couldn't help but smile sweetly at Rolo, his compliment making her feel that much better. Even if he was kinda shy, he could find the right words when he wanted them.
"Diglett! Diglett! Dig dig!" A male Diglett's voice chimed out as he emerged from the other side of a rock. From what appeared to be a dead end to the group was actually the entrance to the Diglett's home, and he was more than glad to see a familiar face.
<Chi! You brought me challengers, did you? Or are they just friends of yours?> His voice faltered a bit at the other option. No training was good as well, though he wasn't as good around new faces. These two did look pretty tough, and stubborn. His opinions on the trainer still needed to be thought out, these were only the first impressions after all.
<Yes, well, no...Well...They wanted to meet a strong Pokemon, so I brought them to you.> The Chingling explained, feeling a pang of guilt for the Diglett. She could only imagine what this would do to the ground Pokemon's ego, since he believed that he was better than the Machop.

Quil watched his surroundings, the cave was very twisting and turning, but for the most part stayed on one path. Quil made a note to himself, left at the fork. It made an 'x' giving you four possible directons to go in. Quil winced slightly, he would've gotten lost in here with out the bell pokemon. Chi was ringing as she walked, but the sound didn't bother Quil as much anymore. As much as he hated to admit it, Chi was a big help. The moody trainer listened silently as Chi chattered to Rolo, the Phanpy had /asked/ a question? Hn.
Rolo nodded occasionaly as the Chingling spoke, listening quietly. <That has to be awkward...> Rolo commented, a grimace on his face. <Well. We'll be grabbing one of them, so you won't have to worry.> he added. Rolo ignored the sweet smile, he may talk, but he was not going to smile, that showed weakness.
As they stopped on the path, Quil looked around solid cave wall all around, the oly opening was behind them. Dead end. He was just about to ask Chi where the so-called Diglett was, when a voice boomed throughout the cavern. Well, I suppose, they live underground. Quil thought, ignoring the heartache he felt at seeing the small ground pokemon. "We're challengers. Chi told us you were strong, but I doubt you're strong enough to beat us." Quil said a scowl adorning his expression, his glare became rock hard. He was taunting the pokemon into battling. "What do you say?"
Rolo smirked standing a few feet away from Chi. <Let's rumble buddy.> he trumpted.

There was something about Quil that made the Diglett a little nervous, something about his grumpy attitude that gave him the feeling that they wouldn't get along much. But if it was only a battle they were asking for, then there really wasn't any harm in it. Plus! His opponent was some dumb little Phanpy, to make it all easier on him.
<I guess that your asking for it, so I'll bring it!> He cried, not liking the pressure put on him from both trainer and Pokemon. What happened to his own cheering section? Apparently Chi didn't know who to root for, so she sat as far as she could from the group. Grinning at him and Rolo. 'But most likely at me. Definitely at me. ' The Diglett thought with a triumphant grin, kicking up a Sand Attack at Rolo simply to make the first move.
At the moment, he was simply testing the Phanpy and Quil. If this hit, then it would say a lot about the duo's experience in fighting. 'Just testing the water.' He thought smoothly, not able to see past the storm of sand, seeing that it was vast and light.

Quil smirked, if the Diglett wanted a battle, he would get one! <You better.> he growled, before turning to Rolo with a whiplash reaction. <Ready Rolo?> Quil scowled, they were inexperienced, this was their first battle, but Rolo was a smart Phanpy. He'd be able to crush them all, he knew not to let anything get in the way of victory. They had the same one track mind, if they were on the same page they would understand each other.
Rolo tensed with apprehension, this was his first battle with Quil, but he knew he'd do great as long as he had orders to follow. <Ready to pound him into the ground!> he replied, a fierce look on his face. Rolo eyed the small ground pokemon warily; the only problem he would have would be the Diglett burrowing underground. He'd figure that out when the time came though.
Quil scowled as a rush of sand gusted past him, clenching his eyes shut to avoid sand grits lodging themselves into his eyes. The Diglett had blown up a sandstorm, angry he turned to Rolo who was enduring the sand attack without a problem. He was a ground-type after all, although he did feel a little off, somehow. He glanced up at Quil for orders as the sand finally began to settle down.
"Denfense Curl, then go for a tackle and use the Sand-attack as the shield. Aim low." Quil said softly, before giving Rolo a nod to go ahead.
Rolo matched his trainer's smirk at the plan, and used a brief Defense Curl to bring up his defense and conceal his weaker spots. Taking a moment to see the faint outline of the pokemon be sprinted towards the Diglett, bursting through the sand with a Tackle attack, he was right on target

The only problem with that was that they decided to attack a little too late, the Sand Attack shield was already settling to the ground as Rolo charged forward with his Tackle attack. Being so short, the sight of the defense charged Phanpy should have been terrifying to him. The Diglett was prepared however, and with a quick dive into the ground, the mole Pokemon was able to successfully dodge the tackle attack.
And what was worse, was that the two had no idea about where the Diglett would pop up. Perhaps he wouldn't even pop back up at all. But that wasn't possible, it would only turn into a waiting game. Unless Quil had some sort of plan for when the Diglett went underground for safety.
As the mole Pokemon dug through the earth, and maneuvered around stone that was too hard for him to break through, he listened intently for the Phanpy's movements. It would be hard to pull of this one attack unless the elephant was close by. Suddenly rising back to the surface, the Diglett let out a sharp pitched cry as he attempted to attack the Phanpy with his Astonish.

Quil sighed exasperatedly, great, his worst fear had come true. The ground pokemon had burrowed himself into the ground, he could pop up anywhere. He had a plan, but this game they were playing would soon grow long and tiresome. They had to take out the ground pokemon fast, before he caught onto their plan.
Rolo let out a grunt of annoyment and he quickly scampered back from the hole the Diglett had disappeared through. He scanned the ground intently, listening to the sound of movement underneath his feet, while waiting for an order from Quil. He would not be taken by suprize, his heavy footsteps suddendly became light and careful as he tiptoed across the ground hoping the Diglett would believe he was still there.
Quil waited for a little until he felt the Diglett would attack soon, "Rolo! Ontop of that rock ledge!" he called. There were multiple rock clefts all around the cavern, and Quil knew the Diglett couldn't burrow through rock. It would be trapped below as Rolo towared above ready to pounce as soon as the mole pokemon showed its head."Then use Growl then Tackle"he added.
Rolo obayed quickly and leapt across the span of dirt, making an racket, the Diglett would attack soon and when it did he would be ready. He jumped up onto the rock just as the Diglett popped up with a squeal. The Astonish attack missed and the Phanpy was safely perched on the rock cliff. The Phanpy performed yet another Defense Curl before performing a Tackle diving onto the ground pokemon.

The Diglett was left shouting into thin air, and at first was confused because he hadn't felt anything attack him back. Usually when he made an attack like this, the other Pokemon might make some kind of weak attack out of fear. Something that usually wasn't planned for them.
'Where could they be? Not below...Could they?' The Diglett thought in a panic, looking from left to right in a quick scan of the area. This could've been bad for him, seeing that the whole area was shrouded in darkness. Plus the benefit of hiding places around rocks and...more rocks.
The Phanpy performed yet another Defense Curl before performing a Tackle diving onto the ground Pokémon.
He was still scanning across the area when all 74 lbs of Rolo came slamming down on him. Quickly he was shoved back into the ground, earning him a chance to recover from his daze. Staring up at the entrance of the hole, he saw a blur of blue, and that could only be one Pokemon at the moment.
<Nice move!> The Diglett said, using his normal tone of voice as he emerged from underground in a completely different entrance. Charging through the earth in order to Scratch at the Phanpy by using the chips of rock and dirt around him.
((I'm assuming that's how a Diglett attacks. o-o' ))

(( Ah-ha. I have no idea. o.o;; ))
The Phanpy glowed with success as he lept onto the Diglett, forcing the small pokemom back into the ground. He had gotten rather dirty in the process though, dust and dirt had settled all over the blue pokemon. Rolo scanned the clearing, back tracking towards another cleft in the rock. His black eyes were attentive as he watched for any sign of movement.
<Nice move!>
Rolo spun around, the Diglett was behind him. The Phanpy groaned, sure, sure, just great. He wouldn't be able to make it to the rock cleft now. <Thanks...> he muttered though, unable to beam with strangled pride that he was trying to hide with his sullen expression.
Quil watched as Rolo was cut off from the rock, it seemed like it was pure cociousdence though, Rolo would just have to move faster next time. <Tackle! Rolo go through the attack!> he yelled, wanting the pokemon to tackle the Diglett while it was attacking, it would be the only time he would be able to attack easily without stressing about the pokemon digging underground.
Suddendly the Diglett began charging at Rolo, unerving the elephant like pokemon. Debris was flying everywhere, as it charged, but now would be a good time for an attack. He took a few unsteady steps back, glancing at Quil for orders.
<Tackle! Rolo go through the attack!>
Rolo nodded in understanding and after bracing himself with a Defence Curl he charged towards the other pokemon with an Tackle attack. The debris was painful as it slashed at his skin, but the Defense Curls he had been doing helped reduce the damage. He charged through the attack, eyes focused on only one pokemon.

The Diglett wasn't paying attention to the massive amount of Defense Curls that Rolo was using, he wasn't the most educated Pokemon around, but he noticed that something was wrong when the Scratch attack wasn't doing as much as it should.
'Is he...A higher level than me? ' The Diglett thought with a questioning gaze, pausing in his attack to let the Phanpy Tackle him backwards. His body was stuck in the ground, refusing to budge outside into the open even after the brutal attack. For some reason, with that hardened body the power of the Tackle had risen dramatically. It was then that the Diglett realized that he had to play it much safer than before. Going back underground, the small ground type merely moved a couple of inches to the side. Able to look up from the hole to see where the Phanpy went.
'He'll probably take shelter on top of that rock...That's when I'll strike.' The Diglett thought with an unsure glance back up. The distance from the ground and the cliff was pretty tall for him, but even so, he had to do something to pass the time. So instead of wasting a a turn, he let out a bellowing Growl, the echos around the cave making it seem louder than usual. Not that it wouldn't affect the Phanpy's stats, it just made it harder to avoid.

Quil surveyed the cavern with narrowed eyes, the Diglett was nowhere to be seen. He was silent for a while, thinking of a plan of attack. Suddenly an idea occured to him, Rolo was a long nosed pokemon! How deep could those tunnels really go? It was risky, but worth a try. "Rolo! Go back to the hole and use your trunk to try and yank the Diglett out of the ground!"Quil yelled, hoping the pokemon got the gist of what he wanted.
Rolo looked confused, but after a moments hesitation he darted for the hole the Diglett had jusst disappeared through. This could turn out badly if the pokemon wasn't in that hole, it would leave his wide open for an attack behind him. He thrust his trunk into the hole, and contacting something solid in the tunnel. A rock or a Diglett? Within a few seconds he yanked it out roughly and proceeded to tackle it.
The Phanpy performed yet another Defense Curl as he waited to find out if the rock was really pokemon or not.

The Diglett let out a shrill cry of surprise at the sudden yanking; his head was forced out of the ground to receive a rough blow to the head. Getting knocked back a couple of feet, the ground type struggled to lift his head off of the ground. For such a tiny little Pokémon, it was hard to stay in the game for more than a couple of Tackles like that last one.
'So that's why...' The Diglett thought to himself as he weakly stared at the Defense Curled Phanpy, his plan had backfired and he knew it. But he was much too weak to make so much as a scratch attack on the ground elephant, he was close to fainted. But it would be much easier to capture him while he still had some health left. Not even the darkness of the Underground cave could protect him against another Tackle attack, or a well-aimed Pokeball for that matter.
Chi was fidgeting nervously on the sidelines. Her constant ringing had died out as soon as her body went still. One of her best friends was in bad shape, and he had already lost the battle in her mind. She felt bad about the whole thing, never liking violence like this to begin with.
<Poor Diglett…> she managed to whisper out, having a lack for words in such a tense moment. She didn’t know what to say without offending the other, but she felt like she needed to say more and was left uncomfortable with that small sentence.
Rolo gains a level, Capture or Move on?

Quil's scowl lightened up a bit, and with a slight smirk on his face he rumaged around within his bag for a pokeball. "Not bad." Quil said, the closest to a compliment you would ever get from him. He withdrew a metallic sphere and tossed it carefully at the uprooted pokemon.
Rolo grimaced at the bad shape the Diglett was in, nearly fainted, but not quite. He was stuck in a suspended state, hovering between consionus and fainting. <Good battle bud.> he said grudgingly, before walking away towards Chi and Quil.
<Poor Diglett...>
Rolo heard Chi whisper and he turned towards the bell pokemon who was quiet for once, he had almost forgotten she was there. <Don't worry about him. He'll be with us. He's healing as we speak.> he reasurred akwardly, not sure of what to say. Chi had just lost one of her friends after all.

The small Chingling gave a weak smile over at Rolo, at least he was trying to be nice to her. She appreciated that much, and gave him a tiny hug before hopping off into the distance. She really didn't know how to control her emotions, but for now these guys were on their own. Without any help or direction on how to get out, or which areas to avoid. Except for the Diglett, but only if he wanted to help them out.
She didn't even stay long enough to see if he got captured or not, and as the Pokeball came to a halt it let out a soft 'ding'. Now the Pokeball was safe to be opened up, or carried away at will.

Quil plucked up the pokeball, ignored the retreating Chi and strolled back up the way they had come. He then strolled down the other fork they had taken to get to the Diglet's cavern. He enjoyed the silent of the cave, no more of the Chingling's incessant ringing. It was nice, the only sounds were his and Rolo's footsteps and the dripping of water off the stalemates.
Rolo sighed, he had felt bad about putting Chi in a tough spot. But, it didn't matter anymore. The Diglett was on their team. That was what mattered. They had a strong team. And he had been fed some rare candies that had boosted up his levels. He felt powerful now.

Down the fork in the path led Quil and Rolo down into a room with even more possible paths to follow. Inside of this one room wasn’t anything particularly of interest except for a bunch of moving rocks.
Wait…
No! It appeared that it was a family of Geodude doing what they did best, challenge each other in contests of hardness. A male and a female were in the center of the room, dueling it out with as much power as they could muster while everyone else watched in interest. The males cheering for the male, and the females cheering for the female as the two slammed into the other. The sounds of rock scraping against the other were nearly ear piercing until the hopped to opposite ends. Sending the other a death glare and a nasty comment to boot.
<You best give it up, girly. I’m telling you that these contests are only for the boys! We wouldn’t want you to get hurt.> The male panted, slamming a fist onto the ground while the other males cheered in agreement.
<I’m already hurt, dangit! And I lasted this far, and if I could last this long, then I’m sure the other girls could too. Maybe do even better than me!> The female Geodude hissed, slamming both of her fists into the ground while the other female Geodude’s nodded in agreement.
