In the spirit of Halloween, Karen had decided to take a break from Trick-or-Treating and left in her Fortune Teller Costume to look for any disturbances in the area. She had always heard that crazy stuff happened on this peticular day.
With her was her Zubat, Crash, who was flying about in the air protectivly. He felt the need to, plus he had a bad feeling about this if his trainer went out alone at this time of night.
Brushing her hand against one of the Tombstones, Karen silently read the grave. Though she could only frown at the sight of it, the name was scratched off, and the stone wasn't kept clean at all. 'I'd hate to be buried here.' She thought as she turned to walk on through the Graveyard. Reading various ones until something interesting would happen.

<BOO!, I would hate to be buried here too!> A small voice added, emerging out of the tombstone. <Did I scare you guys?> The small ghost pokemon asked, with a small friendly smile.
::Shuppet::

"YIPE!" The tall teenager felt her body jump as she saw large eyes emerging from the very rock she was studying. Her mind didn't even proccess the fact that it could've been a pokemon, until she heard laughter comming from above.
"Hey! How was I to know it was friendly?" Karen shouted at her Zubat, she face was flushed into a deep red as she turned away from both pokemon. Letting out a pout, like that solved anything.
<Nice one, you got her good.> The Zubat cackled, but in his mind he would never admit that he was worried for Karen when he heard her startled yelp.
<Say...Did you just read her mind?> The Zubat questioned, as he cocked his head. That or the Shuppet was babbling nonesense, but he doubted that. While he was conversing with the ghost type, Karen took out her pokedex to scan the creature. Anxious to see what it was, and was plesantly surprised at its information. She could have fun with a ghost type like that.

The shuppet danced around, dodging the pokedex for a few seconds before stopping to rest above a small tombstone. <Of course....why couldn't I read her mind... asked the shuppet thinking it was something everyone did.

<Err...I thought it was something only Psychics could do.> The Zubat replied honestly, a small sweatdrop forming at the back of his head. God, the possibilities of a mind reader. That could make anyone go crazy!
Blinking for a moment, Karen slid her pokedex into her jean pocket while studying the Shuppet closely. 'I wonder if its a good battler...Heh, I'm not even sure we could hit the darn thing. ' Oblivious to the fact that her thoughts could be given away at any moment, she sighed. Having a very humorous image of Crash slamming into random tombstones trying to attack the shuppet.
'Eww, thats worse than Whack-A-Mole. ' She shuddered at this, while continuing to watch the two converse.

The shuppet read her mind, and laughed a weird little laugh. < Do you really want to battle a mind reader? it ask losing interest in the other pokemon for a moment.

"Eh? Uhh...Translation? Anyone?" Karen asked, upon the sudden realization that she was brought up into something she had no clue about. Looking at her Zubat, he shrugged for a second before getting off his perch and flying to the opposite of the Shuppet. Almost as if it was a battle position.
<Let me guess, she was thinking of battling you?> 'Ahh, crap. I don't want to fight against a ghost, I don't think neither of us has tried before. ' Crash thought, before remembering that thinking was the same as speaking.
<Dang! I forgot...> He muttered, while Karen just grinned at the Shuppet.
"So its a battle? Sure, lets see what you got!" She called, taking a few steps back so she could give Crash room to fly around the battle grounds. That and so she wouldn't get caught in the cross fire, which was a wise choice.

The shuppet nodded, and started off using Shadow sneak to which it promptly vanished, only to come back into sight streaking towards the Zubat.

"Hey, where'd it go?" Karen asked, her eyes not able to see the invisible ghost around her. She had to admit, that was a little spooky for an attack. Now the problem is, how could they predict where it would attack?
<Have to do better than that ...I don't see with eyes, remember?> The Zubat grinned as he flew above the now visible Shuppet. His mouth hanging open for his use of sound vibrations in the air. The Shuppet was still a type of solid force, and that bounced back to him.
"Oh, right! Good thing I chose you, Crash!" The happy girl grinned at her pokemon partner, while she added in thier first attack for the battle.
"Since you can see it, bite!" Using bite would be smart, especially with its flinching effect. However, this shuppet seemed to be used to being the scary ghost, and would probally not be affected by anything intiminating.
Eager to please, the Zubat zoomed forward with his wings held together to make a much swifter dive at the ghost type. His fangs exposed, and had the great urge to bite onto his target.

The shuppet, dodged the zubat easily from reading its mind, and launched a powerful nightshade attack.

'Eww, this is annoying!' Crash thought the moment he was struck with the mystical ghost type attack. He had no idea what hit him, but the damage was already done. With great effort he flapped his wings harder so he could stay up in the air.
"Crash, you can take it! Lets stop it with Supersonic!" She didn't know why this Shuppet was so strong, but she wanted to find out and catch it.
Mouth wide, he let out a powerful screech in no-paticular direction what-so-ever. He was too busy focusing on the attack so his own ears weren't struck by the confuse-inducing attack. Oddly humans were never affected, so Karen just stood and watched to see if it would work or not.

<I don't think so!> The Shuppet shouted, releasing it's own powerful screech to cancel out the foe's screech. <Sorry!> The small ghost pokemon replied, while giggling a little.

' Seesh, this is one smart shuppet...' Reeling through her mind the possible attacks against a Ghost type, all of them seemed to work: But for some reason this Pokemon could counter everything they tried. Either this thing was more rexperienced than they were, or it was a Mind Reader. That was silly though, right? Yeah, it wasn't even a Psychic type. So that couldn't be.
Crash grimanced as he saw his own Supersonic cancelled by the equally loud Screech. He wasn't affected by it, fortunetly. They were as loud as they could be, and both just cancelled out. Feeling goosebumps crawling up his neck, the bat let out a visible shudder. He was feeling frustrated, like his trainer, and was willing to do any attack by now.
A small idea came in Karen's mind, and she reacted as fast as possible so that Shuppet wouldn't attack first.
"Grab onto it with a Bite attack, and don't let go!" Brushing back a stray peice of hair, only to have it fall back in place, Karen watched on with anxiety in her eyes. Letting a small grunting sound, as if wishing she could get in the fight herself and hold the evasive ghost-type steady.
Like before, a dark power crept into Crash's sharp fangs, his wings flapping rapidly to keep him in mid-air while focusing his power in his bite. The only difference between a dark type, and a normal type move was that power. Once he felt the right amount of energy, he flew forward in a swift motion, fangs beared once again to latch onto his opponent.

<Petttt!> The tiny ghost pokemon cried, getting attack by the super affective attack. <That hurts!> The Shuppet replied, while sounding a little weakly.
Within seconds the Shuppet disappeared from the grip of the Zubat's fangs once again. <Take this!> The ghost pokemon shouted, using a Knock-Off Attack.

The dark type move had knocked down Crash's health to near half, his wings beat per second was slowing down. Noticing her Pokemon's change in pace, Karen looked for oppertunity in any other way. While the Shuppet was still in front of them, may as well get as much health as possible.
<Not bad kid, but you should know better than to use that little attack.> The Zubat commented, while waiting for the moment of command.
' Changed my mind!' She could've laughed at that if she knew the Pokemon was a mind-reader, but she decided to take advantage of the fact Shuppet was so close up to them.
"Supersonic!"
<Got it!>
In less than five seconds the attack was released; much in the same fashion of before. This time, they would be able to see how fast thier ghost opponent could dodge this.

The small ghost Pokemon, smiled and dodged the incoming sonic attack swiftly. The Shuppet made itself invisible and began to blend with the darkning shade of the enviroment.
"Sha..Sha..Shuppet." It chanted in a omnious tone. Though still invisible, its voice could be easily tracked, especially by a Zubat. Then a snake moving line of blue flames were seen snaking the Zubat's way.
The origin of the flames seemed to be nothing but the air amongst the Spooky Graveyards. Then 2 large, yellow eyes could be seen and what seemed to be a purple cloth, apparently the Shuppet was revealing itself. The attack it was using...Will-o-wisp. "Sha..Sha...Shuppet." It continued to chant as it continued the attack.

Trainer and Pokémon grunted in response to their next attack being dodged. How annoying this one move was, the sooner Crash could learn Confuse Ray the better. Thinking it over, Karen assumed that the Supersonic waves didn't always confuse opponents, even though they could be heard. The move was now not a favorite choice, but this next move was sure to dazzle both of their minds.
<Wha...? Whats this? > Crash mumbled, as his face slowly scanned the area. Following the Shuppets movements with unease in his mind. Whatever noise it was making was messing him up, giving him a good reason to never go easy on a Ghost Type again.
Luckily, Karen recognized this attack as soon as the Blue Flames came out. Funny how some attacks seemed familiar to her, while other 'common' ones went by in a breeze. She knew that this meant danger, and had to be averted at all costs.
"Crash, you gotta get out of there! Hurry!" Having a burn condition could be very harmful in a long lasting battle such as this, and if it went longer she had no way of stopping this. Eww....This Halloween would be one to remember.
Wings coming up at fast rates, breath heavy, the flying bat soared straight up. Making swift dodges left to right in order to dodge in incoming flames that threatened to touch him.
Karen felt her eyes narrow. This plan just wasn't working, and all their opponent was doing was floating there, enjoying itself. Growling at this sudden turn of chance, she knew there had to be a way to defeat it. They had the right attacks, and there was no way she would switch Pokémon now. No ideas were coming to her head, so she could only say whatever attack move she could and hope for a miracle.
Fortunately, Crash had led the flames to form a smaller circle below him. As they kept crawling up a small smile could've been seem on his mouth; hadn't the light of the moon been blocking the way.
"I- I believe in you...Crash..." Karen spoke, noticing what he was doing. She hadn't felt the need to say the command, as he knew what he was doing. Staring straight up at the sky, a smile joined Crash's at the moment he released two shadow balls, one straight for the Flames. In a few seconds he recharged another one, aimed at the Shuppet.
((Meh, to make it fair the attacks are slightly weaker because he used it so quickly. Soo...Yeah...I hope that solves any conflicts. ))

ooc|| *headdesk* xD
The brilliantly flickering azure fire dissipated, stricken by the pulsating sphere of violet-laced black. Their lord hovered back -- for the first time, the Shuppet was stricken, feeling its authority over its assailant fade with the flame. Round yellow-blue eyes became, distinctly, rounder, and the thrasonical specter was swallowed by a tide of desperation. It began to obturate Crash, but to no avail... the apparitition failed to bear witness to the other Shadow Ball being formed.
The orb of dark energy sailed through the air, fatally swift, crackling with faint vigor. The Shuppet paled considerably, gorgonized by uncharacteristic fear, and was struck by the drastically effective attack. It lay upon the ground, body fading in and out of intangibility, form adopting transparency to solidify again... one more assault on its welfare and it would all be over.

(( lol, tis' alright young lass. All is well in the World of Pokemon, with peace restored. x3 ))
The fluttering bat let out a squeak of excitment. The adreneline was pouring through his blood, his heart beating faster than ever as both Pokemon and Trainer realized that this would be the final attack. The attack that would end this seemingly impossible battle, without waiting for a command his wings pierced through the bitter air. Using his all-time favorite attack: Bite.
'You show 'em Crash. ' Karen thought, holding her hands together, not realising how cold they were compared tot he rest of her body.

ooc|| bic|| A final cry of unsuppressed anguish escaped the ghost's jaw, and, mouth parted in another silent screech, its body -- akin to a length of navy tissue -- crumpled into a solid faint upon the savage fangs sinking within. The night was again quiet, and the specter lay still and unprotestful, slipping into the silky, placid oblivion of unconsciousness. Each participating Pokemon was recipient of one level. The Shuppet is out cold and vulnerable to capture.
