Well, this was certainly a change from the last route. Hot. Boiling hot. Of course, Chase wasn't too upset with this fact. It tended to be humid in Fuschia City. The Safari Zone was there after all, and for a jungle to exist it demanded a tropical climate. This was a little on the extreme. There was lava, which was quite different, but it didn't matter to Chase all that much. The last gym battle had come pretty easy, and she was feeling confident despite the fact that she could literally melt in this place.
Strolling through this volcanic place, she admired the intriguing scenery. She'd probably find a lot of interesting fire types here and perhaps some rock and ground types as well. She was hoping to find two Pokémon in specific, but as per usual she'd catch whatever she could.

Suddenly, a fire dog pokemon jumped out from the side of Chase and wagged it's tail. It seemed to want to play with her.

Chase smiled, catching sight of the Growlithe. She placed her hands on her knees. "Come here!" she said gently. Unfortunately there weren't any sticks around. She didn't want to make the poor thing fetch igneous rocks or anything.

The growlithe barked playfully, wagging it's tail.
"Groowwl! Growlithe!" It leaped on Chase, seeming to really like her. The he unclipped one of her pokeballs, playfully running off.

"HEY!" Chase cried frantically, "Wait!"
She instantly began running after it. Unfortunately, she didn't get too far before she tripped over a large rock and fell on her hands. Groaning from the pain, she slumped down and played dead, seeing if the Pokémon would return.

The growlithe continued to run ahead, panting as its large paws incessantly hit the hard ground. After a while, it stopped, turning around to see if the girl followed, tongue hanging out beneath the pokeball clutched in its jaws. "Grwl?" He emitted through the pokeball, waiting only a second before turning on his heels and scampering back to the girl. He reached her, bending his face over her's; a large glob of drool dropped from his maw as he watched her.

Reaching her hand amazingly fast, Chase grabbed at the Pokéball, hoping to pull it back. She smiled, laughing a little as slobber flew from the Pokémon's mouth. It was probably going to get in her hair...especially while she was on the ground...but oh well.

The Growlithe gave in, and returned the pokeball to her, racing off to grab a stick from off to the side. It brought this back to Chase and got ready to chase it.

Picking herself up, she ran after the Pokémon, enjoying its company. 'This little guy would be perfect on my time...but how am I supposed to approach him?' she thought to herself, thinking that perhaps a battle wouldn't be so effective for this kind of situation.
"Umm..want to come with me?" she asked awkwardly.

The Growlithe nodded as he nudged the stick to Chase, apprently he wanted to play fetch one last time before he would go into his ball, he didn't look like a Sens fan though, maybe this would clash with their relationship ;]

OOC: ROFL!
Chase chucked the object again. Unfortunately, it landed itself in a pool of lava and disolved. "Ouch...that was a bad throw. Sorry Growlithe" she apologized. Wow. That brought a whole new meaning to throwing like a girl. It didn't even come close.

The Growlithe whined slightly, but then stared at Chase with a stupid grin on it's face. It appeared to want to be caught now.

Chase pulled out a Pokéball. "In?" she questioned, giggling like a little girl. Oooh boy.

The growlithe simply let out a loud bark, as if to tell her "YES." Then it obediantly sat down, looking straight at the ball she held while licking its paws.

She opened the Pokéball, allowing a white flash of light to claim the Pokémon. She laughed, smiling happy. Wow, she hadn't even needed to fight. That was brilliant.

The growlithe was easily caught. Strange, cause most growlithes out there would put up a decent fight before a successful capture...

"Great!" Chase exclaimed. She rather liked this little pup. He would certainly come in handy and she was definitely going to get along well with him. Glancing at her scraped up knees momentarily, she brushed herself off and continued through. Sheesh, it was hot here...

A small Slugma could be seen inching it's way along some rocks alone. It looked rather lonely. Maybe it needed some friends.

Chase sighed. It was hot. Real hot. Looking around, she spotted the Slugma. It appeared kind of...depressed. She tilted her head inquisitively before approaching it slowly and cautiously.
"Hello..." she said a little nervously, fully aware that that Pokémon's body could burn her to a crisp with one touch.

The Slugma sqeaked in surprise. It hadn't noticed the trainer. Moving quite fast all of a sudden, it hid behind a rock.
