Yaibel walked along a street, thinking hard. He was thinking about whether to enter contests or not. On one hand, all he really needed was battling skills. Then again, his Pokemon would grow stronger if they won contests. Plus, contest skills were sometimes useful in battle, such as creativity which would allow you to use attacks in a surprising way.
Yaibel continued to think about as he walked from street to street, not paying attention to where he was going.

::drowzee::
She sat in the middle of the road; her tan rump covered with the numbing snow, turning it a faint shade of red. Cars were lined back for several blocks, honking as loud as they could to try and get the creature to budge. Her long trunk swayed from side to side like a pendulum, rocking along with her body in some odd meditation pose. Her eyes were closed, as if oblivious to the things around her, and seemed much more intent on the things her imagination was shouting at her.
Something was Forewarning her about a horrible future, one that she wouldn’t be very happy in. She had the dream last night, and had been trying to contact the legendary Celebi ever since. There was a great evil around the land of Cheyenne, and she couldn’t quite understand what was going on. Only thing was…Her psychic power was a dud. They weren’t nearly trained enough to contact a being that she never met. But she could always try.
”How stupid is that thing? It’s just sitting there. Someone should call animal control.” A man commented to himself, walking past Yeibel with a proud smirk. It was the one time he was grateful for not having a car in this modern day and age.

Yaibel heard the man and looked up at the Drowzee. He grinned cruelly. When they were properly trained, psychic Pokémon could be incredibly powerful. A Hypno would be a useful Pokémon and Yaibel was sure that he could make this thing evolve.
Yaibel grabbed one of his Poké Balls and threw it. With any luck he might even get a reward for clearing the roads. Drowzee was the real prize though.
The Poké Ball popped open, revealing the form of Serpento, his Ekans. The conniving snake glanced around in surprise for a moment before spotting Drowzee. He grinned and his tongue flicked out of his mouth. He made a long hissing sound.
"Serpento, use Poison Sting. If we can poison it then we'll have an advantage," Yaibel commanded. Serpento had thought of the same thing and was already firing a number of glowing darts from his mouth.

The plump Drowzee had no problem with being totally oblivious to the racket around him and the relentless honking and screamed cursed coming from the long line of backed up traffic. Apparently it was a well commuted, one lane street and many people we now stuck, unable to back up or move forwards. The Drowzee was quite a large pokemon, not something you could move easily.
It was lucky the Pokémon had not been driven over yet, Pokémon control had indeed been called, but they were having a hard time getting to the Drowzee due to the large traffic jam. They had to stunble through people, heavy equipment in tow. It would be a while before they got here although you might want to wrap the battle up quickly.
The ugly female shivered as the snow melted down her backside, but paid it no mind, far too intent on contacting the legendary savior of the forest. Cheyenne was in danger and she needed to warn her! Her attempts were cut short though as sudden split pain blossomed throughout her body.
With a pained squeal, she lept up and clutched her rear painfully, yanking out the barbs inbedded in her raw skin. A snarl ecasped through the Drowzee's lips although it was drowned out by the cheering that came from the drivers inside the cars.
Angered that a pesky trainer and Pokémon would meddle with her plans to save Cheyenne, she attacked, forgetting about the danger for a moment. The large, bulky Pokémon lunged at the serpent with a Pound attack.
The wild Drowzee had attacked! ::drowzee::

The Pound attack slammed Serpento's head to one side but Yaibel showed no emotion.
"Serpento, use Wrap. Then follow it up with Leer," he commanded coldly. He had foreseen the problem from the start and was still thinking of how to combat it before it was too late. None of Serpento's attacks did much damage. Serpento was a leader, not a soldier. He was good at knowing how to beat others but he couldn't actually do it. Yaibel decided he'd have to cross that bridge when he came to it.

The Drowzee had a small smirk of victory as her pound connected into the snake-like pokemon's head. The sickening crack made her stomach churn though, she may be in a battle right now, but she was not big on violence, if blood was shed sometime during the course of this battle... she would probably faint.
She might have strong hopes and determination to be rivaled, but she had a weak stomach. That was often her downfall. As it was in this case. The Drowzee cadverted her gaze and attempted t soothe her stomach. he has not been expecting such a quick recovery and was quickly caught up in a constricting Wrap attack. Breath knocked out of her she valiently fought against the attack. Paniked, the Drowzee quickly used Disable, affectifly ending the attack and preventing Wrap from being used again.

As Serpento's body unwound from the opposing Pokémon, Yaibel stared at the Drowzee's expression. It seemed to be in pain still, even though Serpento had released it. Yaibel shrugged it off and recalled Serpento. Serpento's attacks weren't strong enough to win this battle alone.
"Go King," he said quietly as he threw the Poké Ball. It popped open to reveal a Caterpie. The small worm looked around in confusion for a moment but jumped as Yaibel impatiently took out his whip and cracked it behind him. Yaibel was perfectly aware that many people wouldn't like that, but he really couldn't care less.
"King, use String Shot and then Tackle to knock it down while it's vulnerable," he commanded. He wasn't sure if Drowzee was still poisoned but he was sure he could win easily.

The Drowzee did not look so sick anymore. That Wrap attack had knocked her to her senses, though if something else happened that sounded remotely like a bone breaking, she wouldn't be so happy. At least she had stopped that silly little snake from using that blasted Wrap attack again!
She was surprised to see that her opponent was now a tiny little Caterpie. Really? What did this trainer take her for! Calling out such a tiny little Pokemon to battle her was like a slap in the face! Did this trainer really think she was going to be taken down so easily by such a puny little bug Pokemon?
Insulted and angry, the Drowzee watched the incoming String Shot attack and attempted to dance out of the way, but she was unhappily tied up by the attack, making her a lot slower. She glared furiously at the little worm and her eyes glowed slightly as she used her Disable to attack to keep the impudent bug from using the attack again. . .
Then the Tackle attack came. Drowzee pulled at her feet, trying to get out of the way. She was much slower than she had been, but the worm had to crawl along the ground with no legs. She managed to narrowly avoid being clobbered by a few inches, and now it was time to retaliate. She lunged at her opponent, fist drawn, for another Pound attack.

King automatically started to dodge but Yaibel grinned cruelly. There was a reason he was using King. He had figured out the source of Drowzee's pain.
"Take the hit King, or you'll suffer much worse hits from me," Yaibel chuckled. King stared at Yaibel in shock. He had known that Yaibel was cruel but this was too much. Before he could react the Pound hit him and he was sent flying. Pound may have been a weak attack, but Drowzee's fist was bigger than King. He was sent flying and he felt excruciating pain throughout his body.

<The end! The end is nearing us all! > She cried with a spooked facial expression, after injuring the Caterpie the way she did, she had no intention of continuing her attacks. As far as she was concerned, she had won the battle. Besides, you couldn’t exactly attack an opponent that was already down and out.
’The end…The end…The Beast of the Sea…’ She paled, ignoring the frightened stares of passer-bys and marched right back into the middle of the road. The Pokemon Control was still stuck behind all of that traffic, and she wasn’t about to be moved from her snow covered spot anytime soon. Her perseverance wasn’t all that remarkable, since she had been sitting unprotected in the snow for so long anyway, she never even noticed it. With such strong psychic signals, she didn’t even care about her own health.

OOC: This will be kind of ironic. Beast of the Sea
Yaibel frowned. King hadn't shed a single drop of blood but he had fainted. With disgust, Yaibel recalled it and decided it was time to fight psychic with psychic. He was sure his Pokémon would be more powerful, and if he destroyed a few buildings, no real harm done.
"Go, Demonwind," Yaibel yelled and released the mighty bird. The Beast of the Sea. The Creature Beneath the Waves. Lugia.
Demonwind flexed her wings and released a gut wrenching shriek of evil. The shriek ripped into every living thing, shaking them to their souls. Even Yaibel shuddered briefly before starting the next part of the battle.
"Use Gust now," Yaibel commanded, shaking off the momentary weakness that the shriek had revealed. He was certain that with the Beast of the Sea on his side, he couldn't lose.

The Drowzee had been so intently concentrating, on trying to contact Celebi, every nerve ending of her body waiting for the mystical, healing prensence of the legendary pokemon. She chanted quietly, oblivious to what would soon be happening behind her.
The irriatated mumbling from the crowd only increased as she marched into the middle of the road, it raised into a loud clamoring. The crowd was getting tired of this play, within a second though, as the Lugia emeraged, everything was silent. A cion clinging onto the pavement could be heard.
Then. Evil. Evil was attacking her. With a loud scream, the Drowzee stumbled back as she whipped around. <THE BEAST! THE BEAST OF THE SEA!> she cried, her body shaking so violently, she couldn't stand without the threat of falling.
The fright overcame her and she blacked-out, knocked around ruthlessly by the powerful Gust attack. He had no chance against a legendary. And with a final whisper of warning, the pokemon fainted.
Drowzee has fainted! Serpent and King gain a level. Capture before Pokemon Control gets here?

Knowing that Demonwind would continue to destroy unless he got control, Yaibel recalled her. He picked another Poké Ball from his belt and threw it at the Drowzee, thinking it would be valuable. Of course, it wouldn't be much use until he made it get over its fear of violence, but he was sure it would grow strong soon.

The matallic orb spiraled through the air at a speedy pace and landed upon the Drozee with quite a bit of force. Try an underhand throw next time. The Drowzee grimaced, still able to feel pain even though she was unable to do anything. Even while fainted, she was still trembling from her encounter with the dreaded Sea Beast.
Drowzee absorbed into the ball, and a horrible thought struck her, just as the ball let out a quiet ping. She was going to live with the Beast of the Sea. She ws going to die. Oh how wonderful her future looked.
Drowzee has been captured!

Yaibel grinned as he heard the ping. A psychic Pokémon would be useful in the future. For now though, he had to get out of there before Pokémon control showed up. He scanned his surroundings and darted into a dark alley. He smirked as he thought of how strange it was for a dark place to be in a city of electricity.
During his battle with Psi, Yaibel had decided that the pros of competing in contests would outweigh the cons, but he had to decide which to do first. He decided to start with the gym. Grinning at the thought of defeating the gym leader as a test of his strength, he walked through the alleys toward the gym.

A small Pichu had been lounging in one of the many cardboard boxes littered around the alleyway carelessly. The dirt caked pokemon was clearly a hardened and street smart pokemon, if you judged a book by it's cover you would be down and out for the count within moments. This was one strong Pichu, one you would not want to mess with.
The pokemon leaped with ease out of the box, and after kicking his home aside, stepped towards the trainer. Seeing that the boy hadn't noticed him, he stormed up to the trainer and kicked him fiercely. He glanced up at the trainer, arms crossed with a steely glare in his eye.
<What are you doing here? This is my alley. Get out. Now.> he said, threat lacing each word. You might want to do what he says and leave, if you don't, there will be a battle ahead for sure.
A wild Pichu appears! ::pichu::

Yaibel stared at the small electric rat incredulously. It was brave to stand up to him, but stupid. To reach its full potential, it needed someone to command it. Someone like Yaibel. Instinctively, his hand went to Serpenta's Poké Ball before he realized how foolish that would be. Serpenta wouldn't be able to move in such an enclosed space. Pichu would easily out maneuver her.
"Go, Snogger," he said quietly and released the cute little Smoochum. Most people would be surprised that Yaibel used such a cute Pokémon, but Yaibel knew that Smoochum was actually a real powerhouse, and a smart one at that. He didn't issue any orders, knowing how Snogger would start the battle.
"Oh, you look like a very strong Pichu," Snogger said, voice high and innocent. "I bet I wouldn't stand a chance against you. The local gym leader would love to get his hands on you wouldn't he," Smoochum lied. She was a deceptive Pokémon, and could tell just how to flatter any Pokémon.

The Pichu simply returned the incredulous stare with a cold, hard one. This was not a mouse that got intimidated easily. In fact, he did the most intimdating. It was clear to see why, although small, this pokemon had a vicous streak. The scars he donned on his body proudly, made that fact clear.
The Pichu stared at the trainer for a few more moments. <Well?> he asked, before provoking Yaibel. <Do. you. Not. Understand? You. Go. Now. Got it, dumbass?> he snapped, speaking slowly and clearly as if the trainer was mental incapable.
As the small pink pokemon appeared, the Pichu wasn't fazed. After that igglybuff nearby beat him up, he was expecting something from everything. He wasn't falling for her cuteness or sweet talking. But, he sure could pretend.
He pretended to preen himself anf strutted up to the Smoochum with a cocky stagger. <You bet he would babe.> he stated, before electricity crackled around him as he performed an Volt Tackle. At this range, it would be impossible for Snogger to miss.

Snogger winced as she was hit but she was a tough old girl, minus the old. As Pichu was still in contact with her and electricity was sparking through her, her lips glowed in preparation for a Sweet Kiss. Whether or not it worked depended on if she was fast enough to land it before she was knocked away.
Yaibel grinned most people would think that this was bad, but he could read Snogger's expression. It had turned from cute to cruel. She wasn't used to having her own talent turned against her. ow she was mad. If it took until the end of time, this Pichu would pay!

Yaibel wasn't lucky on this part of the battle. The Sweet Kiss had indeed managed contact with the Pichu, but there wasn't enough time to register the confusion in the electric mouse's head. It was cancelled out before the attack could really damage the Pichu. Which had to be the downside of its 75% accuracy. You couldn't rely on it all of the time.
But there was something, with an even lower chance of success, that the Pichu could rely on. After his Volt Tackle, he let the electricity remain on his body, as a light static coating to serve as a physical defense. There was a 30% chance that his opponent would be paralyzed, just by touching him.
It was a small risk, but why risk that so early in the battle? This time, he shot out a weak Thundershock at Snogger, not using much of his power at all, just to see what she was made off.
