Please don't stop the music
Baby are you ready cause its getting close Don't you feel the passion ready to explode What goes on between us no one has to know This is a private show
One of the newest addition to the Pokemon Trainer's in the Cheyenne region stood at the entrance to Route One. The sign next to her was a clear indicator of where she was, and displayed a complete layout of the Route. Where the water sources were, where the exit was, and a couple of trainer tips as well.
"Lets see here...Pecha Berries can cure poisoning, a status condition that gradually steals health from ones Pokemon until it wears off. This can also be healed at Pokemon Centers and..." The 28 year old stopped as she simply rest the rest in her head. What was she? Four? God, she felt dumb and embarrassed already. Not how a TDS Admin should act. Though her organization was small now, it would have to grow, and she would have to become a tougher person if she wanted to lead it.
Why did she want to do it in the first place? Well, silly little Koden happened to be in Chey. She heard rumors about it, but didn't realize it until she actually joined Team Death. A couple of recruiters got her in the know, and gave enough ideas so she could be the leader of a subset. But without a Pokemon...that was sure to be a problem. That was before, and this is now. The tiny Pokeball was resting on the inside pocket of her jacket, just eager to meet his new trainer.
"Well, come on out shorty." She enlarged the Pokeball as one would on TV, releasing her very first Pokemon into the open. Blank eyes stared at her as she went down on one knee to meet his stare.
"Hmmm...."
<......>
"Hmmm...."
<............Huh?> The Pokemon responded with a tilt of his Lily pad, just realizing that his new trainer was right in front of him.
"You sleep with your eyes open or something?" Mary Jane asked with a look of disbelief, poking the grass type on his cheeks (HISFACEONES)to see if she would get some type of reaction. He simply stood there, not knowing what to do. He didn't even have a name, talk about newbies.
"Well, from what this pamphlet says...You're a Grass and a Water type. Which makes it even more confusing for me, so...stay the way you are. So be simple and retarded for my sake. " She added, turning off her I-pod in case the little guy mumbled something under his breath. She had no idea what he would say, seeing that the only language she bothered learning was English.
<So who are you?> The Lotad questioned, finally getting his senses back. Ignoring her last comments, as he walked beside her. For such a small Pokemon, he kept up with her pace fairly well. The scenery of the forest repeating itself as they walked on the path, looking up at her expectantly until she looked right back at him. Just noticing his expression.
"...You want something from me? I hope you're not hungry...I didn't bring any food. I kinda figured that you'd get it yourself." MJ shrugged at this, but knew that when he did get hungry, she would have to do something before he starved. Of course, she was alright. She had a huge lunch right before she went onto the Route, and with all of this summer weather whirling around, food should've been bountiful. That is, if she knew a thing about scavenging. Which she didn't.

A Ledyba scampered across the path, her six legs scurrying quietly across the pebble on the dirt path. Occasionaly, she would dart up into the air and fly for a bit before resting back down onto her legs. The pokemon, while small moved quickly. She was focused on her task, not even noticing that a trainer was coming her way.
The red polka dotted pokemon went over the same route many times, dissappearing into the bushes briefly each time before travling to the other side. A path was being worn into the ground where the Ledyba was tredding. If you weren't looking closely you would think the pokemon was simply pacing, but the truth was if you were attentive. You would notice that the pokemon had a sprig of berries in its mouth when it traveled to one side and when it came back it didn't have any.
The pokemon was storing up on berries for the winter. The poor thing was deliusional, thinking that it was late fall even though the heat was great.

Normally, the two would've passed the Pokémon right on by. Thinking of it as simply something in the background, like the trees and the rocks, if something hadn't brought the grass type's attention. The scent of berry juice, sweet and fruity, was leaked into the air. Standing still so he could pinpoint exactly where the scent was coming from, he turned into the direction of the Ledyba. Staring at her for a couple of seconds, a pretty little thing. Especially when she had food that could be mooched off, something that he was rather good at.
MJ had taken a couple of steps ahead before realizing that she was suddenly alone. Her eyes nearly popped out of their sockets at the blank space where Lotad used to be, and in a frantic hurry she turned around in hopes of seeing him. Thankfully he was still in her eye sight, but it would take a light jog to catch up with the little guy.
<Fooooddd.....fooooddd....> The grass type was now drooling by the time she reached him, panting and on her knees as she let out an annoyed sigh. She wasn't all that sure of why he had left her all alone, but suddenly she realized that she would need to keep a closer eye on him if he had the attention span of a 6 year old.
Looking up to see what had suddenly caught his interest, she perked up at the sight of something alive and moving. Having no idea what it was, she took out her Pokedex to get a good idea on what this thing was.
"So its a Ledyba...Huh. Its kinda cute. Think we should try and catch it?" She questioned, still not knowing if it was rare or not. Would it be worth catching? If not, she could just donate it to Team Death Heart for the SpliceDex.
<Hey! Hey! Can we have some? Pleaseeeee?> The Lotad leapt into the bushes after the Ledyba, attempting to follow her through the dense foliage with his whiny high pitched voice. MJ took this as a good sign, they would actually be able to battle without a problem. If they could catch up to the dumb thing. Getting back up, she was quick in her attempt to follow Lotad and the Ledyba.

THe Ledyba so focused on her task, didn't even notice when the trainer approached her. She didn't even notice the drooling Lotad who was moaning at the fruity scent of her berries. The focused Pokémon simply continued to scuttle around, muttering random nonsense sayings to herself. <Pecha, yes, yes, but what about Bluk? Oh dearie me. I need more of those.> Slightly paniced about the soon approach of winter, the Pokémon hurried up her once lesuirly pace. <Winter! It's coming! I must hurry!> The Ledyba was acting simlairly to a crazy old lady. <Hey! Hey! Can we have some? Pleaseeeee?> The Ledybug had just been scampering out of bush loaded with all kinds of berries, a Bluk berry in hand. All had been going well until the Lotad leapt in front of her, and the poor deliousional Pokémon nearly had an heart attack. After recovering from her shock though, she let out a piercing scream and threw the Blukberry at the poor Lotad. <WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE!> she screamed even more, picking up the Lotad and throwing the grass and water type out of her secret cave. <Berry stealers! GO FIND YOUR OWN!> the Ledyba screeched, before shooting out an Supersonic attack. The Ledyba scuttled back and forth nervously, as if having trouble deciding whether to go protect her berries or to take care of this intruder right here and now. You have obtained a Bluk Berry!

<WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE!> she screamed even more, picking up the Lotad and throwing the grass and water type out of her secret cave.
The Lotad was quickly blushing with embarrassment, he had no idea that what he was doing might've been wrong. But it felt like he might've been in the wrong place at the wrong time, and with that, was left falling on the only spot with air cushions. It was a painful landing all the same, left with much whining and complaining that needed to be said.
"Ah! Lotad!" The trainer exclaimed at the sight of her Pokémon being thrown out of the Ledyba's nest, and if that wasn't bad enough, she was forced to watch Lotad take the first move. One that was pretty painful to her as well, covering her ears with her hands and screaming in order to block out the horrible screeching.
At least she didn't get confused, like the poor Lotad that was dancing around on the ground. For some reason he found walking on two legs amusing, and was trying it out. Fumbling over the tremendous weight on his back as he took a few drunken steps forward.
<I'm a little tea POT short and STOUT.> He began singing in his drunken rhythm while trying to mimic the dance poses of the children's tune. Except when he tried to do the 'handle and spout' move, he tumbled right over, hurting himself.
The Supersonic's noise had worn off by now, so Mary Jane was safe by resisting the urge to scream out in annoyance. She was in a craze in trying to press the right buttons on her Pokedex to figure out what that attack was. But she wasn't getting the data she needed until an accidental press of a blue button. Everything she needed about that one attack, right here. Apparently the Pokedex had been scanning the battle the entire time, loading and registering data.
'Supersonic, It spoke in its monotone and genderless voice. Not even stopping if she missed a couple of words, unless she wanted to repeat the entire thing.
'An attack that may daze or confuse the opponent. Confusion can be cured by switching out, a Persim Berry, or a Yellow Flute.' It shouted out at her, she only bobbed her head in understanding before sneaking the red device back into her pocket. Now she was feeling more confident now, less afraid of the opponent now that she knew more about it.
"Lotad, can you try to use Growl?" She questioned, flipping through the same pamphlet from earlier. A quick description of the attacks made this one seemed easy to preform, even for a confused Pokémon. But he didn't seem to be listening, stumbling around in a daze around the Ledyba. Trying to get closer to her to try and be friends, but it was pretty hard when one saw copies of the Pokémon they wanted to talk with.

<Why don't you understand that NO MEANS NO!?> the Ledyba screamed even louder, flying forward and attacking with a Comet Punch, planning to pound the living daylights out of the Lotad. But she suddenly stopped in her tracks, staring in half fear, half awe at something behind the new trainer.
Suddenly, the sound of a Pokemon being returned echoed from behind Mary Jane, and a voice asked "Need any help? Looks like your Lotad was just about to be on the receiving end of a Comet Punch." There was a relatively young male behind her, 10 years younger than her at the least. "Then again, if you don't want help, I can just sit and watch how you do. Either way works fine."
((Yeah, Chris has a habit of meeting people on Route 1))

((xD
Oh no. I'm not sure how this'll work out. Evil Team Death member meets Professor? Yikes! ))
Mary Jane was left standing there with half closed eyes, almost afraid to see her Pokemon about to get beaten by all of those limbs. The thing was as bad as a spider, just minus two legs. Her Lotad was still dancing around the Ledyba when suddenly she stopped her attack, almost calming down instantly. That was something that was unreal. Blinking, the Lotad turned around to stare his unfocused gaze at the Pokemon Professor. Still feeling a little on the confused side, and ended up hurting himself by falling on the ground. Spirals in his eyes as his confusion continued.
“Ohhh….” She hissed under her breath, her Pokemon was making her look bad. In front of some bratty little twerp that interrupted her own battle. What kind of trick was he trying to pull? Stopping this little bug from using her attack? They were ready! They were prepared!
“There is no way that we need any help, boy. I’m managing just fine out here. And so is Lotad!” She pouted, turning around to glance at her starter. He appeared dizzy, but with all of the time they were stalling his confusion was finally cured.
<My head hurts….Is that a berry?> His attention as diverted to the Bluk berry on the ground and lunged at it. Sniffing it a couple of times before gobbling the meal down, a black stain covering his happy face as he turned his head in appreciation at the Ledyba. He had a nice appeal to him, for something so dimwitted.
“I don’t think it’s the time to eat…I think its time we showed that kid how a real battle is fought.” She pointed right at the stunned Ledyba, perhaps catching it off guard.
“Don’t think that this battle is over, we’re still planning on winning this.” She called with a proud smile on her face. She felt so good right now, even if she was such a newbie at this Pokemon stuff. Her Lotad’s face appeared to have dropped at this, but if he was supposed to battle, then he would battle. With his berry covered face, he faced the Ledyba with a cute chirp. Which was actually his version of a Growl attack, acting completely adorable to lower the opponents attack.

"Okay, fine" the boy laughed, sitting down nearby and releasing a few of his trusted Pokemon (namely a Pikachu, Lucario and Weavile). "We'll just watch then, right guys?" They all seemed to give a satisfied nod and paid close attention to the battle.
The Ledyba, still not completely focused, was subjected to the Growl (or Chirp) and felt the attack strength weakening effect. In a fit of rage, it flew forward, getting ready for another Comet Punch attack.

The boy's ignorance was beginning to annoy Mary Jane, though she really wasn't the type to get angry, she never liked hanging around the younger crowd. Namely teenagers, because of their tendency to think that they were better than everyone else. They could just be so damn cocky, and she couldn't stand that this boy was sending out his Pokemon to evaluate her first Pokemon battle.
She felt like she should bring them some type of show, put on a performance that they wouldn't forget. But the duo hadn't done any actual training, she didn't even know what the other attacks looked like. Or how effective they would be, for that matter.
"God, you really need to leave." She muttered under her breath, turning to watch in surprise to see her Lotad getting knocked around by the Comet Punch. It wasn't doing very much against him, because he was using his protective leaf covering to block the main force of the attack. His whole body was like a shield against physical strikes, a positive thing that was able to point out. But she had to order some kind of attack, or else it would go on like this until Lotad died. Or fainted, whatever term you wanted to use.
"Okay, how about Astonish?" She slowly read off of the paper, not really thinking much about the name at the time. Just that it sounded funny, and what was a 'flinch' condition anyway? Shrugging it off for now, she watched with amusement as her Lotad's head suddenly peaked out from his leaf. Growing much bigger in a cartoon-like way as he shouted out like he was about to die.
She almost got a heat attack seeing that happen, since it was so unexpected. Holding a hand to her chest, she let out a chuckle. Suddenly she felt so at ease, knowing that her Lotad could actually deliver an attack like that. Though it might not seem like much to anyone else, it was a big deal to her.

Being at such close range, the Ledyba was getting ready to unleash another Comet Punch barrage. However, it just seemed completely unable to move at this point, twitching uncontrollably from Lotad's attack. So that was what a flinch was...interesting for her to remember.
The boy behind her just smiled, especially at her attitude. "Why? I like watching others battle. It gives me a whole new outlook on battles and also allows me a break from my own. It's a free world, and I'm staying."

By now, MJ had deducted that the boy was a Pokemon trainer, but hadn’t realized how great of a trainer he really was. She just assumed that he had a couple of badges and came here to show off on Route One, making fun of all of the newbie’s. She didn’t like the idea of being watched, but it appeared that there was no getting rid of the boy.
Battle-wise, she was pleased at the Astonish’s effect. It looked like the Ledyba was really freaked out at this point, even more than she was. She doubted that it would happen again, and she was feeling like experimenting with the other attack.
“Let’s see what Absorb will do, go on Lotad. “ She called, sliding the pamphlet into her pocket. Of course she was interested in the battle, but she was feeling a little curious about the Pokemon that the boy had. From what the Pokedex entry said, it was a Pikachu, a Lucario, and a Weavile. But the Weavile looked a lot different than the one in the picture, but there wasn’t any time to ask about it. Lotad was already charging at the Ledyba with his Absorb, just getting close enough so the green lights could make contact on her.

The ledyba sqealed frantically as the sporadic energy made contact with her skin, seemingly draining her health. And from the look of the Lotad, he was benifiting from it! Chirping with rage, the five star pokémon launched a rage-fueled comet punch at the lotad, her four arms that weren't touching the ground randomly lashing out at the enemy.

The Comet Punch remained as weak as ever, as long as Lotad kept his head down low those punches wouldn't be able to hurt him. But the constant pounding was beginning to give him a headache. It was because despite her rage, she kept aiming at the same spot as before. Or at least it was close to it, and it was really beginning to make that area sore from any attacks.
"Use another Absorb." Mary Jane was just offering ideas now. She didn't know which attacks would best suit the situation, all she knew is that the Ledyba didn't look like she was in the mood to listen to another Growl attack. It would probably go unnoticed anyways, she reasoned with a weak smile.
The Lotad made a weak grunt as he dug his stubby legs into the ground, with the bug type's entire body weight thrown into each punch; it was getting harder and harder for him to deal with it. He wanted pleasure, dangit! And he was going to do it with his Absorb attack, the only warning was the familiar dark green orbs before giving a loud cry. He didn’t really know why he cried out as loud as he did, he just knew that he felt upset, and frustrated with all of these attacks on him.

The ledyba noticed that once more it's health was waning, and the lotad was again gaining power. Luckily, she was so insenced that she barely payed this any heed and continued to lash out randomly. But she was growing tired, the punched were falling short, and the ones that did hit lacked power. In a last valiant struggle, she braced her hindlegs on the ground before shooting forward with a tackle attack. She just wanted peace, how far did she have to go to get it?

The Tackle attack was strong enough to hit the Lotad right on his head, just at a different angle from before. It was enough to bring tears to his eyes as he endured the powerful attack. He needed a moment to himself, but in a battle like this the chance wasn't likely. How he wished he had longer arms, so he could at least hold his poor head like a Psyduck. Instead, he had to suffer through his insane throbbing and it was killing him.
"I think its almost over, so why don't we finish it off with Astonish." She kept the same curious tone to her voice, but she was getting kinda bored seeing Absorb used over and over. Plus, she thought that this attack did more damage than that other one.
The Lotad nodded his agreement, wanting to end this as soon as possible so he could rest up inside of his Pokeball. Lifting his head right up, he shouted another startling cry. Something to try and break the bug type's spirit and stop her from attacking him as well.

Ledyba turned for another attack, but when she did, she was astonished to see the lotad jump at her and cry out. It was so scary that she practically fainted from screaming so much. This chick sure was crazy. But she was finished now, her stock of berries unprotected.
Catch or continue?

The Lotad's eyes lit up at the stash of berries in the distance, and in complete bliss dashed away from the fainted Ledyba to claim his prize. So many berries, and they were all his! Err, theirs! He was grinning like a maniac while gulping down a ripe Razz berry, picking through a couple and throwing them on his giant leaf like a waiter would. He was going to try and grab as many as possible before they would leave, hey, he was sure that the Ledyba would be happy to see her precious berries anyway when MJ captured her. “Wow…I was right? Err, of course I was right.” Mary Jane chuckled to herself, trying to laugh away her dumb statement from earlier. Turning around to give a glance at Chris and his team, she sighed before grinning once more. Now she was more excited than ever. This was the time to capture her very first Pokemon, and she was pretty excited about it. A tiny Pokeball was drawn out from her pocket, enlarging it as the trainers on TV did before tossing it like a baseball player would. ’Eh…Maybe that was a little rough. But maybe She’ll be easier to catch. Stupid TV…’ She began to have her doubts about the whole thing already, but her eyes didn’t leave the shaking Pokeball on the ground. Not even the sounds of her Lotad made her curious to his business; she was too zoned in on the red and white sphere on the ground. OOC: Could you list a couple of the berries that Lotad snagged?

The berry pile, humongus as it was, was only made up of the more common berries, but they were berries all the same:
BERRIES FOUND: 2 Rawst 1 Oran 1 Leppa 1 (Slightly Suashed) Sitrus 3 Razz 2 Aspear 2 Cheri 1 Chesto
As lotad came back from stealing the berries from the hoard, the metallic sphere was rolling towards the unconcious Ledyba. With a dull clunk, it hit her hard wing case and enveloped her in crimson light, sucking her into the red and white abode. The ball lay still on the ground, without even enough energy to wobble, and dinged satisfyingly, glowing a pale red colour to show that it was caught.

She could take a happy sigh of relief at the sight of the motionless Pokeball, there wasn't even a fight going around inside of that thing. Satisfied with her capture she picked the Pokeball up into the air, trying to look inside to see the exhausted figure of a Ledyba inside of it. Tired or not, she belonged to her now. And what a feeling it was!
"I guess I'll have to give you a name. Since I'm in the creative mood, I'll call you Frenchi." She was smiling at the Pokeball, the sight of a sleeping Ledyba regaining her energy was enough to let her put the Pokeball away for now. Finally, the little Mesprit that she picked up from earlier had some company on her Pokebelt. The floating Psychic type danced about in circles from inside the capsule, but suddenly stopped at the sight of the exhausted Pokemon.
'Awww....Poor thing....I wanna hug it...' She thought with sympathy towards the bug type, and looked up at the confident Mary Jane. She was already on her knees picking up berries to store inside a small plastic container that she hid in her pocket. Gotta keep the food as fresh as possible, hopefully it wouldn't spoil.
<Too full....Too happy...> The Lotad gave a cheesy grin over at his new trainer, knowing that those berries wouldn't go to waste as long as they had them around. The grass type suddenly plopped down on the ground, preparing to go in for a snooze of his own while MJ returned him. He really did put up a good fight, and it felt a little cruel to make him continue without a decent rest.
"Man...What's a good person like me doing in TD in the first place?" She whispered under her breath, shaking her head a couple of times before releasing the only Pokemon she had at full health left.
"Come on out Esprit." She held the Pokeball in front of her, looking at the Psychic Pokemon with kind and friendly eyes. The Psychic Pokemon was more than happy to wrap her tails lovingly around the woman's neck, hugging her and startling her.
"Esprit....Kinda...choking here..." She gasped, trying to forcefully take the tails off of her as the Mesprit held her even tighter. Apparently from switching trainers so much, she became a little clingy to people.
<Its Mesprit by the way.> She added with a wink, letting go just enough for the poor girl to get in a couple of breaths before hugging her gently with her arms. Something that the two could live with, except that she wanted to train the little thing a bit.
"You don't mind seeing what you can do, do you? I don't want to find out too late in a battle or something." Mary Jane gave a fond smile to the Mesprit as she nodded her agreement, the duo walking off into a nearby clearing with Esprit happily flying around in the air. It was a place where no tree's could possibly get in their way, not even the tall sunflowers that existed in the distance couldn't mess them up.
<Okay! I'm using my favorite attack of all time! Super-awesome-amazing Hidden Power! GO!> Esprit cheered, twirling around a couple of times as a funny pattern began to glow all around her. Bright lights of an indistinguishable color quickly spun around her, going faster and bright the longer she charged up the attack.
"We need a target..." Mary Jane thought out loud, somehow sensing that the Mesprit was waiting for her on when to release the growing power. Picking up a nearby rock, she hurled into the air. Shouting "GO!" with a burst of energy. The Mesprit was quick to react to the target, and launched the energy just a little bit too soon to make it a direct hit. But the two weren't exactly experts at telling, all they knew was that when the rock fell to the ground, it was charred a dark black.
"...Think you can do it again?" She looked up into the Mesprit's joyous eyes, more than pleased at the moves power and beauty. Of course to MJ, any move looked impressive to her. She was still just a newbie, but it didn't take a genius to realize that the legendary Pokemon packed a powerful punch. Esprit giggled to herself before getting back up into the air for action, the two repeating the same thing as many times as they felt they needed too.

The rock was now almost smashed into multiple different pieces that were sure to turn into dust if anyone was to touch them. Apparently Mesprit was a very powerful Pokémon because areas around the shattered rock had black marks over them to, such as trees, the ground, and bushes. A Pokémon near bye heard all the noise your Mesprit was making, "what could all that sound be?" he thought to himself." He cautiously walked toward the noise and peeked out of a berry bush near by. Oh no It was a precious rock being destroyed! It jumped out of the bush and leaped in front of the nearest "piece" of the rock" "you will no longer harm this creature!" it said throwing out its Rock arms, with its sharp eyes focused on the Mesprit. it was a Nosepass, and being a rock Pokémon he was easily offended by what you were doing to this poor rock. What will you do?
