Miki stared out into the open route. She couldn't believe what she was actually doing. She finally got the chance to go out on her own and explore, with her own Pokemon. She wasn't sure what wild Pokemon she was going to see on the route, but quickly Miki made a mental list of what she might find, and what she might want to catch.
After quickly finishing, Miki got the courage to take a few steps into the open. She felt free, and she felt alive. After a short moment Miki started walking normally down the first route of the road of her adventures as being a trainer.
She paused every-so-often to check around to see if any wild Pokemon were near by. Then Miki got another idea. Maybe she could spend a few minutes with her Mareep, just to see if they could make friends, and how it would be.
"Alright, lets try this."
Miki un-hooked the Mareep's Pokeball from her belt and let her first Pokemon out. The Mareep appeared in white light and stared confusingly at Miki. "Hello there," she said, "I'm Miki, your trainer, and you are...Bright." The Mareep's face lit up, like Miki had just given her a compliment. What she said could have been taken that way, but really, Miki was just giving her Pokemon the nickname she thought of.

A Wingull cawed as it flew just above the treetops, in a pattern, almost as if it was alerting the Pokémon that there was a trainer in their territory and to stay out of her way if you didn't want a battle. It circled up above for a bit before completely disappearing, cawing some more inaudible signals as its caw faded away. Everything was silent for a while, and then the noise started up again; Pidgey started their own chirping, a few Chingling began singing, and the Caterpie and Weedle returned to their crawling in the trees. Well, there had to be a Pokémon somewhere who wanted to battle, right? Or one that at least showed interest in you.
A small purple figure slithered through the grass on the other side, getting closer to Miki and Bright. +Ssssssso, another trainer hasssssss come to thisssss route?+
it said, slithering out of the grass to take up a position in front of the two. +And I am the firssssst to claim,+ it said, flicking its tongue out and back in, as all snakes do. +Trainer! I challenge you and your fluff ball to a challenge!+ it declared, shaking the end of its tail, making its point quite clear that it meant business. Wild Ekans wants to battle!

A wild Pokémon was playing with a leaf near the path, and he threw it up in the air one time too many. The wind picked up just as the little bunny Pokémon was getting ready to catch her toy, and the leaf landed on the path. He grew a bit depressed, as he didn't like to venture out on the route, but he wanted his play-thing more than he cared about what lurked around the leaf.
Hopping for fun to pick up his leaf, his long ears twitched as he heard a voice. He looked to the right of him and saw a trainer and her sheep Pokémon. Bun? he questioned curiously. A trainer, of course, meant tamed Pokemon, and tamed Pokémon meant battles. The little bunny forgot about his leaf and hopped towards the trainer. Bun, bun, ry! he challenged. He twitched his ears in excitement, then waited for the trainer to respond to his request.
A wild Buneary appears! ::Buneary::

((Okies, Spirit.))
Bright didn't respond to Miki's words, instead, she turned to the Ekans that slittered out of the bushes. The Ekans's words were pissing her off. <Fluff-ball? That's insulting!> Bright jumped in between the Ekans and Miki. No one was gonna get away by calling her something other than the nickname her trainer gave her.
Miki was a bit shocked at Bright's nature to battle, but she didn't object. She stood up and had a tingly sensation growing inside of her. "My first battle, lets make it good and win. Bright, use Tackle!"
Bright made an attack call and charged at the Ekans.

+Ssssssso you don't like 'fluff ball'? Mmmmm. What a pity. I ssssssshhhhhall sssssssstil call you 'fluff ball', though. Your name isssssss of no importanccccccce to me,+
the Ekans said. Ah, and now the battle would begin- what fun! The Ekans didn't really see what was wrong with 'fluff ball', as, to it, that's what the Mareep looked like- a giant ball of fluffy wool. +Good luck, fluff ball,+ the Ekans said. The Ekans watched as the Mareep charged toward it with a Tackle, and at last second coiled and sprang above the Mareep- quite powerful for being so small- and as it came back down prepared to wrap itself around the Mareep in an attempt for a Wrap. <Hump, you have no respect for other's wishes.> Bright snapped. "Bright! Watch out!" Miki cried. Bright wasn't frozen in fear at all, but she wasn't fast. As quickly as she could, Bright spun around and tried to run the other way.
"Oh no." Miki whispered to herself. She made a silent wish that Bright would get away fast enough. But she wasn't fast enough, and the end of her tail was still open for a wrap attack.

+Perhapssssss not. But you wouldn't either if you were me. I'd guarantee it,+
the Ekans said, not affected at all by Bright's words. When you've lived on the same route all your life and strive to get stronger but have no luck in doing so, you wouldn't really care about anything else. All you'd want to do is get stronger no matter the cost- in this case, for the Ekans, it would likely mean becoming a Pokemon of a trainer, if it lost. Seeing the tail still vulnerable just barely, the Ekans wrapped itself around it as tightly as it could with its small, but powerful body. +Let'ssssssss ssssssse how you handle thissssssssss,+ it declared in triumph. It opened its mouth and also fired a peculiar barrage of purple dots at Bright as her tail was now in the grip of the Ekans- a Poison Sting.

"Bright, tackle it with your horns!"
Bright turned herself around and swung the Ekans around while it was attached to her tail. <Maybe then you should care!> Bright aimed a tackle right at her tail since that was where the Ekans was.
Miki pleaded silently that it would work. She didn't want Bright losing now. "Come on Bright! Your can do it!" She cheered.

Oh, that was great. Attacking yourself- perfect strategy! Ekans thought humorously. +Everyone hasssssss their own persssssssonality. Right now, I don't care. With time, perhapssssssss I could,+
the Ekans said thoughfully, loosening its grip on the Mareep's tail. As Bright aimed a Tackle at the Ekans, who had been thinking and was slacking off, it hit it square and sent it flying off. +Ohhh, sssssssssmart move,+ it said, coiling up again. It opened its mouth wide and purple dots shot out toward Bright when it had regained its stance; Poison Sting.

"Bright! Dodge!" Miki cried. But it was too late. The poison sting hit Bright and she lost her balance and fell onto the ground. "Come on Bright, tackle it again." Miki said. Bright slowly got back onto her feet. She didn't feel like agruing with the Ekans anymore, more less talk to it.
Bright shot herself into the air at the Ekans.

The Ekans, sensing that the Mareep didn't wish to talk anymore, was glad- it hated explaining its thoughts out loud to keep from awkward silence. Alright, then- this would be much easier. More concentrating on the fight rather than what to say. It wondered what having a trainer was like... taking orders and having to follow them. It would be quite odd, but... the Mareep- no, Bright, didn't seem to mind a whole lot.
As Bright rocketed into the air toward the Ekans, it coiled itself, ready to spring and attack as well. This time, however, it knew it had to be quick if it wanted to be successful. The Ekans allowed the Tackle to hit- boy, did that hurt like a mother!- and took the opportunity. Wrapping its tail around one of Bright's horns, it swung back and coiled itself around her neck, squeezing down tight. It liked this new way- it was thinking better since it wasn't speaking. It was all in its head...

Instantly, something came into Miki's mind. Bright had the static ability didn't she? If she could use it now, it would paralyze the Ekans. The only problem was, it couldn't be controlled. "I guess that plan is out of the question." Miki muttered to herself. She had to think of something, because Bright was choking.
Bright let out a small whimper of distress. She couldn't breath, and went into straight panic. Bright started to run around and buck like crazy. Anything, that would get the Ekans off of her neck.

As Bright was bucking, the Ekans only tightened his grip on her. It thought about saying something, but decided against it. 'Must... keep... holding... on...!'
it thought, using all of its energy to even stay on Bright. He closed his eyes, hoping that the Mareep would fall before it did. Visible beads of sweat could be seen on the Ekans head as it struggled to keep on. It would only be a matter of time before it gave up, or possible even Bright. It didn't help that Bright couldn't breathe- that was a major downfall. Can Bright win this fight?

Miki started to sweating. Bright looked like she was really hurt, but what could she do? She didn't want Bright to get too injured. Then Miki thought back, she did have another Pokemon! Quickly she grabbed Bright's Pokeball and pressed the button in the center. "Sorry Bright, but return!" Bright willingly returned back into her Pokeball. Before the Ekans could even react, Miki threw out another Pokeball.
"Nidoran, go!" The Pokeball opened and out came a Female Nidoran. It look one look at the Ekans and giggled a bit. <Snakey! Cute little snakey!>

The Ekans was quite surprised when it felt itself squeeze around air and fall to the ground. So, the trainer had recalled Bright and sent out another Pokemon? Joy. Well, this battle would be quite pointless- it had used most of its energy for fighting Bright, but... it still had a bit left for this Nidoran.
+Cute?+
the Ekans asked in astonishment. +You think I'm cute? HA. HA. HA...+ the Ekans said, a booming laugh that sounded much more mature than what an Ekans would be coming from deep within its throat. There was obviously something amusing about that. +That'ssssss the funniessssssssst thing I've heard in a while,+ the Ekans said.

"Go on Nidoran, double kick!" Miki said encouragingly to the Nidoran. She looked at the Ekans with a bit of despair in her eyes. It was tougher than she thought. Nidoran gave out a squeal and scurried over to the Ekans and quickly turned herself around to try to land a kick or two on the Ekans.
Miki hoped that it would work. She didn't feel like having any of her Pokemon fainting already on her journey. It didn't seem like good luck.

The Ekans may have enough energy to fight this pokemon, but his reflexes were lagging slightly from always being on edge, ready leap aside at every attack. Which, he may mention is hard to do when you have no defined limbs. The deep royal purple of the Ekan's scales shivered and started a domino movement through out the body, the end result being with the pokemon shivering from head to tail. It was summer, but a cold gust of wind had just drifted past. The brief clenching of his eyes added to the Nindorans advantage.
The Ekans tried to leap out of the way, but sadly the attempt failed and he was kicked repeatedly. It packed quite a punch and the serpant pokemon had to catch his breath briefly before glancing up with his slitted golden eyes. The sun made his fangs gleam with a faint twinkle as he lunged towards the pokemon with a Poison Sting attack.
