Oh yes, it was about time for young Marissa to get off her lazy butt and fight at the gym. Oh yes, It was time.
Weeks had passed and Marissa did little to nothing in her life just sat on a bed in a rented out room, or laying on the bed, gazing at the TV or celing like she was in a coma. She wished, at the time, she was. Trains would echo in her ears as they passed down the tracks by her rented room, her own Pokemon sleeping in bordem or destroying every inche of the room. Floors covered in stains, from who knows what, the bill booming. Yet, Marissa paid, she had money. She got money. Even Pokemon locked in there Pokeballs felt like they died, and when by luck there ball slammed to the floor and opened it was like they didnt know how to walk, talk, or see. Slamming into walls, falling, groaning from pain. Oh, the pain.
"Piiiiiichuu..." <Missa... Please...> Volt shook and tugged on Marissa's hair as she lay on the bed. Thunder, Thor, Tecko, and Relu came to her side in attempt to get her up. "Trrreeecko!" <You a lazy turd!> "Shiiin?" <I thought I was a brat. Get up you lazy turd. Get up?>
Nothing seemed to work, then the doorbell rang. Relu was the one to answer the door, Marissa had faded into a coma by now. "Ehh... Your trainer here?" The man spoke softly, and Relu pointed to the lump on the bed, "I see, she has to pay her bill. A Million PD." Marissa shot up suddenly and glared at the man, her hair a mess and outfit covered in stains, yellow stains, "What!? A Million PD? A late pank, right?" Marissa stood and walked to the bathroom and turned on the shower. "Well, ha, yes. But next week if you keep messing this room up... It will be that high." He handed Relu the bill and left. Marissa was finally out of the coma.
"I hate men who play late pranks. Let them die." Marissa stormed out the door and checked out of the room, paying as she left. Her Pokemon secretly cheered.
She slammed the door, hard, as she entered the Gym."Where are you? To be frank I am ticked off." She tapped her foot and blacked Thor, and Thunder's way. "No. Tecko, Relu and Okora will fight today."
Marissa had changed into black and neon yellow striped skinny jeans, and a paint-splatered black top. Hair was brushed. She was ready. And tonight she would get a nice room in a nice hotel and then. BAM! Marissa would end her coma times, even if she liked to zone into space.

Haru appeared right behind Marissa, his warm breath blowing against her unprotected neck. With his cold steel look, he smirked at the girl’s impatience. These were the types of trainers that were the most fun to mess with. As he slided around to face her, he gave a playful smile that could’ve suggested something sexual, if you had a perverted mind.
”Welcome to the Electric City Gym, I am the Gym Leader. Call me Haru-san.” He cocked his head to the side, absolutely gushing with confidence against this type of girl. He was more than ready to take her and her pitiful Pokemon on.
The lights around the Gymnasium began to light up on cue, starting from their position, and going on all the way to its farthest corners. With the arena illuminated, several students began to file into the stands, taking out their notepads and cameras, eager to take down notes. Now that was odd.

Welcome to the Electric City Gym, I am the Gym Leader. Call me Haru-san.
Marissa tried to ignore anything that pestered her, blinded by the lights as they turned on. The people. The cameras and noteboks. "Uh, yeah. Got youself a fan-club or something? What with the cameras and junk?" She sucked in a deep breath of air and sighed suddenly, letting out Okora. The Legendary Shaymin, herself. Marissa knew of other Shaymin, but never had she seen another, so she thought that Okora had to ge a Legendary as the only Shaymin around now. But Legendary from the power a Shaymin should hold, was also something Marissa knew.
"Alright, Mr. Haru..." She stopped as if to mock him, "Haru-son." She knew most just called him Haru, and Marissa didnt play stupid, not when she was in a dull mood. "To be frank with you, Im not fond of your name at the moment. Or the others here, just I dont hogwash. I will beat you." She let her Shaymin step forward first.

Haru glanced about the Gym, pretending as if he just noticed the people there. He was not in the mood to talk about it. Those people with their damn cameras, studying him, and criticizing everything he did...It ruined a man's self esteem. He felt like one of those celebrities, always having some reporter ready to diss him.
"Ignore them. Let's battle." Haru-san snorted at her disrespect. Chances were, he wasn't going to give her any prize money if she kept this attitude up. He wasn't impressed at the Shymin, it looked weak. How do these loser trainers get such rare Pokémon?
"Storm, front and center." He sensed a single battle, so only a spunky Pichu was released. His eyes cheerful, and ready for action.

Storm, front and center.
Marissa glanced at the Pichu, she also had one but he was the type to always live outside of his Pokeball. At the moment he was asleep in her Backpack.
Marissa grinned and let out a long breath of air, "Alright Haru," Marissa placed her hands on her hip and blocking the rest of the team from going anywhere into the battle, "Ill end this quick, so you can get back to your stupid fanclub."
Ora stepped father away from her trainer, and the Shaymin glanced at the Pichu waiting for an order that came rather quickly, "Defense Curl and Magical Leaf." Simple enough. The Shaymin let her defense rise slightly and shook her tiny head, at least in Marissa's eyes her Shaymin was a she, but it didnt bother Ora what gender she really was.
A tiny leaf, one that changed many colors appeared out of thin air, and spung around Ora for a second until it was thrown at the Pichu. Ora eyes her enemy, and then glanced at Tecko who was cheering her on, and she blushed.
[ I used Magical Leaf.. Right, right? ]

Storm appeared bored with the Shaymin as she went into a defensive position. He hadn’t even done anything yet, and she was already cringing into a tiny ball. He had quickly lost next to all of his respect towards her as she uncurled herself. With a proud gleam in her eyes, as if she actually did something that was worthwhile. He smirked at that. Puffin out his chest with his ears perked up, alert to the body language of his opponent.
”It’s a Magical Leaf. Don’t dodge it. Instead, blow it to smithereens, and attack that puny Shaymin with your Volt Tackle!” This had to be the pair’s favorite way to start out any type of Gym Battle. It was a strong, threatening, if not reckless attack. It was sure to keep their opponent on their toes.
Storm let out a powerful burst of electrical energy, surrounding him as if he leapt right out of a Dragon Ball Z episode. With his fur crackling with his unleashed power, he charged right under the Magical Leaf attack, the extra glow around him singed the leaves before they could even touch him. You could almost say that he was using the electricity as armor. He kept with a speedy pace; he had to be quick in order to actually hit the Shaymin. Before impact, he stretched his arms out, extending the electrical armor around him, making the Volt Tackle even harder to dodge with a ‘simple step’ or a ‘leap’ above him.

The Shaymin took the attack, not much she could of done at this point. And Marissa rolled her eyes, then pulled her Shaymin out of the battle and let Relu step forward. A simple enough move, but her Shaymin didnt like that idea at all, and she started to complain. Marissa ignored her or him, whatever the Shaymins gender might of been.
The Riolu placed her hands on her hips and glanced at the small Pichu almost laughing, and Marissa's own Pichu poked his head out of Marissa's Backpack. "Pichu...?" It yawned glancing at the battle. "Relu, use Force Palm" Marissa crossed her arms, and glanced at Haru, then the people on the stands, some still chattering and other leaning forward to wacth and taking notes.
The Riolu narrowed her eyes, placed one step forward and another behind her too keep her balance. She took a deep breath, and closed her eyes.
Then she used Force Palm.
[ I dont know what that attack would look like, so I cant describe it. ]

The Force Palm attack had been a fine mix of Physical strength, and psychic abilities. By attacking at the Pichu’s most sensitive pressure points, it was possible to create the paralysis condition. Storm was ready for it. At least that was what Haru had judged based on the determined, firm eyes held on the attacking Riolu. What neither had expected, was that Storm couldn’t even attempt to dodge the attack. His previous Volt Tackle had taken a lot out of him, making him weaker than before. The Force Palm had sent shivers through the electric mouse’s body, activating his Static ability, sending weak electrical charges on contact with the Riolu’s paw. It wasn’t a guaranteed thing. It wouldn’t even hurt the Riolu. It was all chance. Just like Force Palm’s added effect. It had paralyzed Storm!
<Ugh…That…that hurt…> He whined in response to the attack, feeling his muscles tighten up in response. He had slowed down a little, but he was still able to attack before it fully kicked in.
”Alright. Attack with Charm and Sweet Kiss.” Haru smiled in relief. Storm could attack this turn. The Pichu threw little hearts into the air, hoping to seduce the Riolu with his cute looks. Treating the Sweet Kiss as a physical attack, he ran through the hearts, still looking as cute as ever, and attempted to plant a big smooch on the Riolu’s left cheek.

<Ugh…That…that hurt…>
Relu smiled, <Yeah, you earned that.> Again she placed her paws on her hips and glanced at the Pichu who was now attempting his best to charm her. At first it didnt work, not a bit, she just looked at him like he was stupid. Then a strange feeling came over her, as she glanced down at the tiny Pichu. A shiver down her spine, and next thing she knew... Relu was charmed, by the cute little brat. Yet when he came to kiss, as he was told to do, Relu moved away, to avoid it.
"Relu, again use Force Palm" Marissa glanced at Haru, her eyes narrowed and her arms crossed. The Shaymin still complaining in the background.
Relu looked at the Pichu, she was Charmed at the moment and swallowed hard. Then let out a long breath, she could still attack. Again she stood her ground, and her red eyes turned to the Pichu, and again she used Force Palm.

<You aren’t nice.> Storm muttered at the Riolu’s comment, the feeling to total helplessness washed over him like the painful feeling of having hot coal dumped on him. His tiny, fragile mouse body didn’t have the best defense in the world. His speed was everything! Why, if he didn’t have that, then he was as useless as peanut butter without jelly. He didn’t like this attack that the Riolu was using.
”Charm worked. Good going, Storm.” Haru commented, mostly to help keep the Pichu’s dampening spirit up. Since he was so young, it helped to give a few encouraging words to make the little guy try harder. He could tell that Storm was having some motion issues right now. There was no avoiding it. They would just have to wait until the paralysis wore off.
The Force Palm struck against the Pichu’s backside this time, his Spark ability activated. Another short jolt of electricity lunged at the Riolu’s fist. It was as if it was furious at the Fighting type for attacking it’s master.

Marissa glanced at Haru and then the little Pichu, it was weak, and she would get her badge. Quickly.
"Good job, Relu, Quick Attack" Marissa ordered.
Relu stood there for a second, she was charmed and hoped it would fade, yet it was still there. She posed herself ready, to attack at her quickest pace. Yet nothing, and she was to charmed by the little Pichu to do any harm. Marissa groaned. A few hearts above Relu's head vanished slightly yet a group of them still lingered.
Tecko wanted to battle, if he could level up by one, he would evolve. <When I get on that feild, Im going to kill you!> He yelled at the Pichu, and the Shaymin shoot its head, <Dont be so mean.>

Haru was pleased with Storm at this time in the fight; the Pichu had been handling himself very well. Of course, he was the strongest Pokemon he had. Storm had always been a bit of a light weight, but his speed and power was so strong, they had managed to go around that for the time being. He glanced at their opponent and laughed, mostly in spite of Marissa.
”Look at you and your silly Riolu. Heh. Can’t even take on a Pichu on her own. She needed help from the Shaymin first.” He was poking fun at her, and he was enjoying himself as he did it. So what if she got mad? He’d never see her again. That is, unless she wanted to rechallange him after she lost. That was unlikely however, because chances were, this was going to be his last fight as a Gym Leader.
”Attack it, Storm, with your Thundershock! Then use Tail Whip to get yourself extra staticy.” He smiled, having something up his sleeve as he planned this out. It was pretty suspicious. One had to wonder what he meant by “staticy”. The Pichu let out a burst of his Thundershock at the Riolu, and started wiggling his tail around at the Riolu in a teasing manner. The remaining sparks from his attack began to wrap itself around his body, adding an extra boost to his Static ability. Attacking him physically would be extra risky this turn.

All of Marissa's team that was out, other then Ora, crossed there arms. Marissa did the same. All the hearts from when Relu was charmed seemed to vanish at once, replaced with a pure hate of the tiny yellow brat. Even if she still approved of Marissa's own Pichu. Ora ruffled her green fur, and let out a loud pouting sound, she really wanted out there, or at least bite Haru enough to make him bleed.
She was ready by the time the Pichu hit her with Thundershock, and Relu held strong, even feeling her denfense lower. A shiver ran down her spine, she hated that little brat. <After I beat you, I want you to go die,> Relu looked around, noticing a drain on the floor, <In that hole.>
"Counter."
Relu nodded, and did as she was told.
[ D: I hate when I dont know about an attack. ]

[[Tail Whip didn’t lower the Riolu’s defense?]]
Smirking at the reactions among the crowd, Haru pointed at the Riolu as if she was the cause of all of this hate in the room. Though Storm was much too focused to even glance back to see what the heck his trainer was doing, he could ever so faintly hear his commands under the Riolu’s trash talking. His eyes had watered up at the insults, sniffling and choking up over his own tears. He hadn’t expected his opponent to be so mean…
<Y-y-you…> He sighed, before trying to speak again. <Daddy says that people like you aren’t good sports…> He sniffled, trying not to cry in front of Haru, though it was hard when he had never been talked to in such a manner. He wanted Haru to beat them up, and make them feel sorry for making him feel this way.
The Counter attack hadn’t worked, due to Marissa’s lack of battling knowledge. Haru laughed even more as he watched the remaining effect of the Thundershock wear off on the Riolu. That was funny. He certainly had some kind of advantage right now. Pichu hadn’t been that worn out from the Shaymin, in fact, he was just getting warmed up. And sure, he might’ve been a tad paralyzed from the previous two Force Palms, but the Riolu had been charmed. And now, to make things easier on them, they would completely immobilize the beast. Static had been unreliable thus far, so they had to take matters into their own hands in order to cripple this fighting type.
”Use your Thunder Wave to stop it in its tracks. Believe me; fighting types are useless once they can’t move.” He snorted at his own comment, trying to push the challenger even further with his own comments and slander. Storm weakly nodded, using a weak jolt of electricity to shock the Riolu “in her tracks”. He believed in his Daddy’s judgment.

[ It did lower its defense, I said it did... o.o ]
Marissa grumbled she didnt have the mind to think right when she was still ticked about what happened in the morning, not that long ago. Then the Pichu attacked, again, and Relu could feel the electricity pulse threw her body in short and weak waves, yet it was enough to paralyze her to the bones. She grew stiff. Eyes locked, and narrowed, the the Pichu showing that she wanted to tear it to bits.
Marissa's eyes burst into flames, and she looked at Haru, "Are we about to make this a Team battle? Because I really wanna bring another player out to kill your fuzzy little brat." Marissa's own Pichu giggled, still to young to real understand that she was talking about the Pichu. She glanced at Relu, "Force Palm, if you can."
Relu moved slightly, stepping into place, yet she was unable to make the attack. Eyes still bitter cold.

Haru could only grin. "This will be an easy win for me." He thought. He looked at Storm, before looking at the Riolu. Storm was quick and clever, that Riolu was nothing more than trash. <Your a weak Riolu! I bet you got beaten by the weakest Pokémon ever, Magikarp! Your so pathetic and worthless, Your owner should abandon you and get a Riolu that knows some actual moves!>The Pichu teased. The Pichu's eyes were glittering with happiness, at the thought of an easy win. <Heck, I bet your mother was a Magikarp!>The Pichu continued her teasing. Haru looked at Storm before giving off a command "Storm! Use Sweet Kiss! Then Volt Tackle!" The Pichu kissed the Riolu with some hearts before running to the Riolu, electricity running alongside her.
