A girl with flaming red hair was walking down the path. She was skipping, her alone on the path. She frowned, where were all the pokemon? Skye knelt down by a pond that was near by and put her hands in it, getting a drink. She cupped her hands and dipped them in the water. "Hello?" She asked, after getting a drink.

A orange fish poked its head out of the waters, its scales contrasting with the clear blue water that the pond provided. A bit of moss here and there, but otherwise it was safe to drink. Deeper into the pond, a school of Magikarp swam next to each other. Competing for nearby lunch, but this one wasn't hungry. More curious, about the human that lived above these waters. Its lips opened up and closed as it gave her a blank smile. It looked stupid, but looks could be deceiving.

Skye watched the Fish pokemon. "Oh, hello." She smiled at it; Skye gave a small wave. She really didn't know what to do now, did she just walk away from teh creature, or stay? "Um, do you talk?" She asked it, maybe it could tell her about this place.

<I talk as good as the next Pokemon.> It replied in a sweet voice, kind and feminnie. Perhaps there was more personality to this fish that what shown in her eyes. Thinking that Slye must've been a little shy and wanted to ask her something, she let out a playful giggle. Turning around to splash a little water in the human girls face, before turning to face her with a fishy grin.
<I promise I don't bite. Hahaha.> She tried to hide most of her laughter away, so she wouldn't seem too rude.

Skye smiled as the fish talked. "Oh good, I'm Skye." She jumped back as the fish splashed her. "Oh, hey!!" Skye laughed. She rubbed her hands across her face, trying to get the water off. "You don't bite? But I do." Skye tried to playfully grab for the pokemon. "Hey, can you tell me anything about this place?" She asked the fish pokemon.

A little surprised that the human could understand her, she refused to show it. Her slippery scales sliding through the girls fingers as Skye tried to grab her. Laughing and giggling the entire time until she relaxed enough to think over the question.
<Oh, so your new here then.> More of a comment than a question, she turned around to view the small pond she was in. Compared to that, there was an even bigger lake, that was actually connected to this one through an underground tunnel.
<Lots of fish live around here, and I'm sure you saw that big bridge, that should take you to the place where humans live. Sometimes land Pokemon cross the bridge, and other trainers too. You can hear the batrles from down here, kinda loud.> She tilted her head as she recalled the last one, but didn't say anything more about it.
<Anything else you need to know?> She questioned, not really knowing what Skye wanted in the first place. That seemed to be all that came into her mind when she explained the route.

Skye smiled at the fish. “Ok,” It didn’t really help her, but that was alright. “Um, are there many pokemon around here?” She asked it kindly. Skye wanted to know what types she would have to face. “And if so, what types?” She looked up from the water and then around. She saw the bridge, but that’s not where she wanted to go right then.

Somehow the fish was able to sense that Skye didn't get the information that she wanted. Though the humans face said otherwise, this proved to be an ugly problem for the fish to comprehend.
<Ah! Y-yes, there are.> At least this she was able to help the girl out with. Names were never the easiest thing for her to remember, but she knew faces.
<There's lots of Magikarp like me, lots and lots. I also see a lot of orange and gold fish, with horns on their head. Don't be fooled by the lilly pads, because those are Pokémon too. > It added, knowing full well how the native Pokémon used camouflage to catch food.
<Uhhh, on the bridge? I see a lot of Bidoof. > That one she knew, they were just so common on the routes that it was hard not to know their names.
<Its a little rare, but I might even see a flock of birds flying over the bridge. So, I guess mostly Grass, Water, and flying?> She sounded puzzled as she thought this over. Before concluding with an unsure nod.
<I hope that helped you.> She said sincerely, wishing that this time she was of more aid.

Skye listened to the pokemon as she was told of the different pokemon. "Oh! Thank you so muhc, that really is a big help." She looked into the sky and frowned. No pokemon in sight. "Well, is there any thing else that you can tell me? Any pokemon that I might should stay away from?" She asked the fish pokemon. If not, then I best be off." She looked up the path, then back at the Magikarp, and smiled.

<Uhhh, not that I know of. > The fish thought hard about that, there were plenty of things that a Magikarp like herself was afraid of. What could a human be afraid of? Only something like a dragon, which then made her gasp out in surprise. <Giant Sea snakes. They stay at the bottom of the pond though, but I don't think you'll ever meet one.> She shuddered at the thought of her evolved form. Those giant fangs that could eat its own kind if it wanted to. Plus the size of it, and a raging temper to boot. Seeing that that was all the help she could offer, she gave Skye a smile before swimming off into the pond. ---------------- A red crested Corphish scuttled out of the edge of the tiny pond. Looking brave and determined, it made its way onto the soft grass. The blades of the plant life felt strange to the Water type, who had lived in that tiny pond of all its life. Recently it had decided that it was getting much too crowded for its tastes, and was in search of a bigger and better habitat. However, with all of the excitement that was going on inside its head, it slowly became paranoid. Sensing Skye's presence made it visibly jump up, and growl at the girl. <I-I wasn't scared. > It defended itself, though she did nothing in the first place.

Skye nodded and waved good-bye to the fish pokemon. "Thank you, you've been great help!" She stood up and started to walk, onylto notice the little lobster like pokemon. "Oh, hello." She smiled at it. "Who are you?" She knelt down on the ground, staying away from teh pokemon, but wanting to see what it would do. She slowly held out her hand, palm down. If the pokemon wanted to attack her, then it could, if it wanted to investigate, then let it.

Looking a little bewildered at Skye's actions, the Corphish slowly scuttled through the grass. Stopping every couple of inches to make sure that the girl wasn't going to do anything funny, no tricks. Reaching the soft palms of her hands, the Water type eyed her with more curiosity than fear.
<The bridge creature.> It stated with calmness, though a bit happy to have identified the girl's species from a previous experience. Nodding its head a bit, after thinking through a small flash back, it nodded with certainty.
<Your one of those things that use big sticks to catch Pokemon. I've seen things like you from underwater, but I've never thought that I could meet one up close.> It grinned with excitment, before lightly grasping the girls hand with its claws. Making sure not to hurt her, but it didn't know how easily a human could get injured, so its grip was a bit tight.
<Nice to meet you, though I don't know what you're called.>

Skye smiled at the pokemon as it came closer to her. "Yes, I'm a human, my name's Skye." She sat on the ground and folded her legs. "Nice to meet you." She tried nto to wince at the grip of the pokemon. "Big sticks?" She asked. Skye puzzled about it for a second. "Oh I know what you mean." She chuckled. "You have a tight grip." She laughed, trying not to sound in pain.

The Corphish quickly blushed as it let go of Skye's hand, looking at the hurt limb to make sure it wasn't bleeding. Anything too serious, and it would've gone into a panic for hurting one of the nice people.
<Skye? Its so great to meet you. One of the land humans. I haven't been outside very much, so everything around here is new to me. I think its because I was born around the time that the lakes froze over. > Indeed, it was hard to believe that everything was as it appeared. It used to be so cold a little while ago.
<Anyway, I have to move to the bigger pond. There isn't as much food as I thought there would be in this small pond. My legs weren't built for this kind of work.> The Water type whined, looking over several hills to see the Gigantic Pond and bridge. Of course, the distance was much larger to this tiny Pokemon than it would be to Skye.

Skye rubbed her hand and smiled at the Corphish. "It's wonderful to meet you." She nodded. "Yeah, it's much nicer now, very warm, not cold." She looked over the hills and the bridge. "Oh, it's not that far, maybe a two, at the most, three day walk." She frowned, not realising that the water type was smaller than her. "I'll be going there very soon." She stated to the pokemon.

<A-A...> It stuttered, before catching itself in the act and taking in a deep breath. Hopfully getting rid of all of the surprise it experienced seconds before until regaining some of its composure. Of course, now that it had a calm head it could understand why Skye had said that. She had longer legs, and the distance would be easier for her to cover.
<That's easy for you to say. For me, it wouldn't be easy.> It muttered in a deep and monotone voice. Hinting that it wasn't very pleased with Skye's lack of observation, but decided against holding anything against the girl over something so small.
<If your going there soon, I guess I'll be seeing a lot of ya. How about I go with you for the trip? Safety in numbers, mum told me. > It patted its hard chest, and a deep thump could be heard. A sign that it was fairly tough, and able to deflect most attackers.

Skye smiled down at the pokemon. "If you really want to, I'd be gald to have you along." She watched the pokemon. "If you think you can handle the trip. I do a lot of battling along the way, it might slow it down a little." She knelt down by the water type and shrugged. "But if yo don't mind, sure, come along." Skye would be safe without the Corhpish, but she didn't think the corhpish would be safe without her.

The Corphish didn't seem to mind the battling part of Slye's explanation, being very indifferent about it. It was alright, especially since it was curious about Battling all together. Though the sooner they reached the bridge, the better. <Alright, mission: To the bridge!> It chirped, raising a claw in the air in a mini cheer before looking ahead. Remembering even more just how long this journey might be. Since Skye walked faster than it did, it decided to get ahead start by walking first. For a while that was how it would be, the Corphish doing a little cheer to itself as it walked further and further ahead. Meanwhile, a nearby Doduo was taking a snooze nearby the travelers. One head looked red eyed, and very agitated. The other was as peaceful as a Pokemon could be, sound asleep and wrapped around its fuzzy body for warmth. Upon hearing the Coprhish, it grew even more upset from the constant noise until it just couldn't take it. Its black neck stretched up to send a warning glare at the oblivious water type, it stood up. <Will you...Just shut up?!> The asleep head was simply dangling off of its body as it began to chase after the water type. Making a horrendous war cry as it ran to peck at the Water type multiple times. Small scatches began to appear on the Corphish's shell as it cried out for Skye to help it out.

Skye smiled and let the pokemon walk ahead. She followed shortly after it. Not one minute after walking she heard the Corhpish cry for help. “Oh!!” Skye ran over to the pokmeon and quickly picked up and backed away from the Duduo. “I’m so sorry,” Skye apologized. She smiled at the bird pokemon and continued to back away from the Duduo. “We didn’t’ mean to disrupt you!” She shook her head and looked down at the Corphish. “Right,” She nodded. Skye set down the water type and looked back up at the Duduo. “We really are very sorry.”

Huddling against Skye's leg for protection, it sent a teary glance over to the giant Doduo. He seemed pretty annoyed that more people suddenly became involved in this little dilemma, but merely looked over to the side. The asleep head was silently communicating to him through its sleeping state, telling him to calm down and relax.
Taking a deep breath, he sighed in defeat. Moving away from Skye and the Corphish so they could pass. <Sorry...> He muttered, before curling down to the ground to watch over hiss brother's head while he slept soundly.
The danger seems to have passed.
The Corphish looked up at Skye with an apologetic look, not meaning to cause her any harm. In fact, it was just as surprised as she was when the Doduo came over unprovoked. It never meant to halt her journey so soon, and looked down in disappointment as it trailed behind the girls footsteps.
