Skye was so tired, she could have slept through a bomb going off. Not even noticing the Lotad that had come to their camp. So tired from todays battles and running from all the pokemon, also she was traveling, Skye just wouldn't wake up right now. Who knew about the Corphish, maybe it was just as tired as Skye, maybe not; it was possible that the Corphish would wake up as the Lotad walked around their small camp.

((Thankies Coral~ -mini bow- ))
Letting out an occasional light breathing through its open mouth, not loud enough to be a snore, thank goodness. The Corphish felt the morning sun arrive, and letting a quick yawn escape its mouth the water type sat upright. Sleepiness hiding around in its eyes, the morning scenery of Route 2 was a comforting thing to wake up to.
Having a nosy and overly-curious Lotad hopping right on your lap with the intentions of asking random questions? Not cool. The grass type was jumping happily on the Corphish's dazed body, having no idea what was going on until it was bombarded with questions.
<Who're you? Why're you here? Do you belong to the hobo? Aren't you cold? I can't believe that you're not sick or anything, because I remember this one time where...> He rambled on, and on, and on, and on. The Corphish had no chance to even butt in or answer any of the questions asked, and with a quick push, it knocked the Lotad right off of it. Looking annoyed, but proud of its power to at least get rid of something so annoying.
<Owowowowowow. Who taught you manners? The hobo?> The Lotad whined, clinging to a scraped leg, which had accidentally brushed against a small rock as it fell. The Corphish pouted to itself, not really liking this Pokemon very much. It looked annoying, and it acted annoying. Like a clingy five year old.

Skye's eyes fluttered open and she groaned. "Please, Corphish it's alright if you have a friend or something like that right now, but please keep it quiet." She rolled over to face the Corphish and saw the Lotad. "Hey!" She quickly sat up. "it's not nice to bounce on people." She brushed the hair away from her eyes and frowned.
"Please, would you stop," But the Corphish had pushed the Lotad over. Skye gave a gasp of alarm, but she understood why the Corphish did it. "Hobo!" Skye didn't like this at all. "I'm not a hobo, and Corphish isn't mine, just my friend." She shook her head. "What makes you think I'm a Hobo?" She was a little annoyed by this Lotad. "And don't you have something to do? Like take pokemon across the lake." Two green emerald glared down stone hard at the Lotad.

The Lotad got onto all fours, in a basic standing up position as it stared curiously at the human girl. She seemed pretty surprised at the title, so it was easy to assume that she wasn't anything close to what it had suspected from earlier.
'Well, I didn't exactly see the two as lovers.' The Lotad snorted to itself and its little inside joke. Just inwardly making fun of Skye's choice of words as it half listened to her explanation.
<I only said it because you look like one. Seesh. No need to take offense-> It started, but halted as soon as it saw Skye's angry eyes glaring down at it. It was almost as it she threw a couple of bricks at it, and it was pinned down.
<Dude...Take me advice...And please shut up...> The Corphish muttered to itself, trying to slink away so it wouldn't suffer from Skye's wrath as well. A bad situation that would be.

Calming herself, Skye sighed. "I see, but you didn't have to jump on Corphish." She frowned. "Look, I'm sorry to get upset with you, I'm just tired and haven't slept in a long time." She looked around and saw the sun starting to rise. "And won't for a while longer." She rolled onto her knees and took her backpack. "Come on, we better get going." She closed her eyes and rubbed her head for a second. "Lotad, I'm very sorry for getting mad at you, I'm just in a grumpy mood right now." She opened her eyes, they were now soft. "Was there a reason you came here? Or were you just curious."

The Lotad snorted to itself, not really caring if its antics were a little out of control at times. All of its friends in the Route were used to it, at least it assumed that they were. Still half listening to the girl, it gave an occasional nod to whatever she was saying until something shiny caught its eyes.
'What is that? It looks like a...a...Ball?' Squinting its eyes as it stared off into the distance, it was slowly becoming more certain that something was out there. Without a word, the grass type drove itself into a harsh sprint to satisfy its dangerous curiosity. There it was, in clear view, at the base of a large willow tree. Its dangling branches nearly touching the roof of its head as it poked the item with a chuckle. Whatdaya know? It was only an Oran Berry...
<AHHHH!> The Lotad screamed when a trap was suddenly pulled from the spot it stood on, a thin rope quickly got a good grip around its legs, and it was sent dangling like the branches around it. Upside down, it scrambled to escape from its prison with an occasional cry.
<Oy! Look what our friend got into this time.> The Corphish giggled to itself, finding it hilarious how little of an attention span the Lotad had. It couldn't even detect such an obvious trap. It was hard to believe it was still surviving out here as a wild Pokemon.

Skye watched the Lotad. "Doesn't stay focused very long, does it?" She smiled down at Corphish and walked after the Lotad. She could see the berry and thought it odd that it was just there. "Watch out it might be a," She sighed as the Lotad got caught. "trap." Shaking her head and muttering something about 'how could it have survived this long,' she walked up to the hanging pokemon. "You know, curiosity killed the cat." Skye told it.
"And though they say satisfaction brought it back." She shook her head. "Not true." Giving a small giggle towards the Corphish, Skye nodded. "My sentiments exactly." the rope was thin and Skye couldn't figure out how to get it off the Lotad's legs. "Hey, Corphish. What to help this poor creature?" Skye was thinking maybe the Corphish could snap the rope with it's claws.

The Corphish laughed at that old saying, but it seemed like the Lotad was really going nuts over the tiny berry that was still resting on the ground. It wasn't even able to grab the thing it wanted before springing up into the air. Poor thing. Not that I really care, but I'll do the honors~ The water type thought as it raised its claw into the air, figuring out what angle it should jump in before doing anything else. "Hey! Stop that! Thief!" A young girls voice chimed out of nowhere. Ruining the Corphish's concentration as it whirled around to yell a couple of complaints at the girl. Not that it had an idea of where to yell, but the thought of being called a thief was pretty mean. Emerging from the bushed was a pretty ticked off girl with her Politoad, both staring threateningly at Skye and the Corphish. She had set traps all over Route Two in the hopes of catching a Lotad like this, and she wasn't about to let some teenager release it. Those mean big kids, did she even think about what she endured to get one of these things? Finding the right bait, the right place to wait, the other wild Pokemon falling into her traps, it was awful! "Don't even think of letting it go. I caught it fair and square." She argued, taking a step closer to her prize, a confused and dazed Lotad. The Corphish was left staring at her, honestly not knowing what to do in a situation like this. As she walked, the Politoad protectively hopped around her, not trusting anyone that his trainer called a 'thief'.

Skye stared at the girl. "I'm not a theif," She put her hands on her hips and glared at her, not caring that there was an angry Politoad. "And you didn't catch it, you trapped it. If you really want the Lotad, you need to battle it, then catch it if you win." Her eyes narrowed. She stepped closer to the Lotad, blocking it from the girl.
"It's cheating when you trap them , they don't even have a chance to fight back." Skye wouldn't back down from this, she would fight untill the Lotad was free. Her lips were set in a hard line and her eyes were narrowed. She glared threateningly back at the girl and her pokemon.

It didn't even matter if Skye was older than her, she was ready to bust some teenage butt when the time called for it. Placing her hands on her hips while narrowing her eyebrows, she put on her best angry face while glaring right back at the girl.
"Its not cheating, its finders keepers!" She spat back as she tried to step around Skye, but was finding it hard to do when there wasn't much room to walk around with. The Wild Corphish was blocking her as well, holding up his claws in the air in an attempt to blockade the area.
Todd, her Politoad was still trying to keep the whole body guard thing going on, but he wasn't feeling as confident as he used to be. Maybe the girl had a point, but he'd stand by his trainer no matter what.
"Poli!" He cried, getting annoyed at the two's glares and fighting. Crossing his arms, he casted a glance at the Corphish, not realizing that it was a wild one.
<Why don't we settle this fair and square then. You and me, now.> Todd offered while hopping a couple of inches back. The Corphish stood stunned, and quickly inched behind Skye.
<I'm a lover not a fighter...> It nervously choked out, goosebumps appearing all over its body as it felt the confused glare of the Politoad. Normally it would accept, but it felt really weak compared to the other water type. Like it would be uneven, plus it didn't have much experience in battling. Except for the ones it saw with Skye, but that was about it.

Skye wasn't going to let this girl get to the Lotad. "It wasn't lost or anything like that. It was walking around when you stole it." She stormed. Lucky for Skye, she was taller and older than the girl, so she glared down at her, her green eyes full of fire as red as her hair. "What if your Politoad was walking along, and you weren't there, or you were behind him. And I caught him in a net. Then he's mine." She was trying to use reason with this girl. But usually Skye's reason involved her fists.
When the Politoad said to settle it just the two of them, Skye smiled. "How about this." She looked down at the Politad, then to the girl. "A battle," She reached into one of her many pockets and pulled out a pokeball. "If you win, you can take the Lotad, if I win, you leave the Lotad and stop catching them like this, battle instead. it'll leavel up you pokemon and make them stronger so you win more battles." She looked at the girl with hard eyes. "Or we can continue this and I will win. But you have a better shot this way.

The girl thought it over with a stubborn face, she really didn't want to get into an actual fist fight with Skye. That would really be bad, because she didn't want to go send people to jail from child abuse. Or anything of the sort.
"Well that would be stupid, because I already caught my Politoad in a Pokeball, which I was planning on doing with that Lotad. Besides, I found Todd first, so he'd still be mine." She explained with a triumphant smile. For a little girl, she was pretty darn good at reasoning things out. Even if they seemed wrong to other people.
"A battle is fine with me! Me and Carey can use the levels!" The girl bubbled out as she threw a Pokeball into the air, catching it as it fell to release a Corsola. Jumping up and down repeatedly in a happy manner as she went up for yet another trainer battle.
"I guess we could really use the levels, so let's give it our all Carey." She cheered, raising an arm in the air as the Corsola twirled around in a circle. Clearly oblivious to any of the bad tempers that were fueling around the two girls.

Skye rolled her eyes. "I found the Lotad first." She snapped, but shook her head and dropped the pokeball. "Fine battle," A Shiny Dratini poped out and wound itself around Skye's legs. "Ok, ready?" She asked the girl. Misty, the Dratini, jumped in the air with a smile on her face. She loved to battle and when she saw the Corsola, she thought one of two things, either she was making a new friend, or she was battling. And from the look on Skye's face, Battle.
"Misty attack with Leer, then Thunder Wave." Skye called out, not taking a step away from the Lotad. "Keep an eye on our stuck friend." She told the Corphish. Misty moved to the side and let out her Leer attack before letting out Thunder Wave. She was so happy right now, Misty loved battles and she was in one. Oh Boy! She thumped her tail on the ground a couple times showing her joy.

At the Dratini's (somehow) joyful glare, Carey's defense stat was lowered. But being such a tough cookie, she wasn't feeling much weakness from the Leer. Giving a couple of happy hops to keep herself warmed up, the pair anxiously awaited the blast from the Thunder Wave.
She might not be strong enough to learn Refresh, but she can handle any electric blast! Anne thought to herself as she watched the Corsola struggle against the flash of blue lightning. Being weak to electricity made her more vulnerable to their attacks, but since this was supposed to be a non-damaging move she was only left motionless.
"Fight it Carey! You can do it!" Anne cheered from the sidelines, along with her Politoad who was occasionally clapping to show his support. The Corsola was fighting for at least a little bit of movement, but felt herself trapped against the paralyzing blast. There simply wasn't anything for her to do during this turn of the battle. But that didn't mean that they wouldn't keep fighting it!

Misty thought she was doing very well, but was a little confused as to why the pink pokemon didn't attack back. Skye understood. "Great job Misty, now Twister." She commanded, looking down on her friend. Dispite the fact that Misty was confused, she still went on ot attack. It took her a second to attack, she tried to figure the right way to angle the attack and how much she should put inot it. As she paused, Skye looked back at the Lotad and Corphish. She really hoped they were all right. The Dratini narrowed her eyes and let out a Twister, it wasn't very good, not as powerful as she could do, but Twister none the less.

As the Dratini began working up a Twister, Anne and Carey looked at each other nervously. It did look like it would be painful if it hit, so the best thing to do was put up their strongest defense while they could. She gave a silent nod over to the Corphish, and watched as the Corsola began to harden her body. It didn't look like much to anyone else, except that her body was a little stiffer than usual.
When the Twister finally embraced her body, she was thrown around quite a bit before landing on her side. Todd began to clap even louder, in hopes that the constant cheers would somehow help the little one out. Within seconds she was right back up on her feet, still paralyzed, but fine.
"Okay Carey! Use your Bubble!" She called, pointing an accusing finger at the shiny Dratini. But all she had was silence. Looking back down at the water/rock type, she frowned when she saw the electricity from earlier still clinging to her. Looked dangerous to the touch, even.
"I guess you can't yet? Well, good try. I still have faith in you!" Anee said, trying to keep the mood light for her favorite Corsola. One that often got depressed and upset when things were looking bleak. Even now she was beginning to lose confidence in her own abilities, heck, she couldn't even attack offensively!

Skye could see this was going her way, and she liked it. "Great job Misty," She smiled down at her Dratini, who smiled back then faced the Corsola again. She watched the pokemon, then glanced at the trainer and the other pokemon. "Ok Misty, ready?" Misty jumped into the air and wiggled with excitment. "Dragon Rage," Skye said. Misty had never used this attack, it would be her first time ever trying it. She looked nervous for a second then blinked and nodded. Dragon Rage Misty nodded again. +Right,+ She sighed a ragged breath and let out her attack. She messed up a little at the beginning but came back and launched her attack, not so sure about it still. Skye knew that Misty had never used Dragon Rage, but now was a good tiem to start, right?

With Misty's growing experience with the attack gave Anne and Carey enough time to think about the proper solution to their dilemma. The effects of the Thunder Wave were slowly wearing off, but it would take some time for it to go away completely. It was simply a side effect of being a water type, weakness to anything electric.
"Use Recover before it can hit you!" She whispered, silently praying to herself as the dragon type attack was launched. Its dangerous blue flames sent cackling in the Corsola's direction, and from what the trainer knew about this certain attack, it didn't matter how many times they used Harden. The attack would cut right through it. So instead, she decided to heal her in order to keep up her strength for the next turn.
Using up most of her energy to even pull off the rainbow colored attack, Carey glew as if she was evolving as the attack covered her body completely. The Dragon Rage fighting to harm her as she persisted on the recovery moves effects. There, in all of her rock defensive glory she stood. Looking unharmed, if not better than ever.
"Corsola!" She cheered, hopping up and down in surprise and joy. Something had worked, and now they had a chance to stay in the battle even longer. Anne could only sigh in happiness, simply thankful that the attack worked despite the status condition.

Skye wasn't happy when the Corsola Recovered, Misty on the other hand was thrilled. +Oh! Wonderful, now we can battle longer!+ She smiled at Anne and the Corsola, then at Skye, who had to smile back. "Ok Misty Leer, then Wrap." Skye commanded.
This just made Misty even more happy. She sent out a Leer, though ment to be scary, seemed a little nice. She then slithered around for a moment and faced the other pokemon. Her face became set as she prepared, this was one of her more known attacks, and she had practiced it many times, but she still treated like it was her most difficult attack.

Though the Leer wasn't the scariest thing around, the Corsola's defense was still lowered. Though with an expression like that, it didn't mean that she would be caught off guard by something as obvious as a Wrap attack.
"Counter it with Tackle!" The trainer commanded, becoming almost as thrilled as Misty was when it came to battling. Even Todd was curious to see what was going to happen, stopping his clapping and cheering to simply watch the fight.
Carey gave a small smile over to the Dratini, not wishing to hurt the thing too hard, but she wanted to win. It was what she was trained for! Hopping ahead to face the wrap attack head on, she attempted to ram the dragon type away with brute force. Hopefully it would discourage them from continuing with that particular move.
