"Finally, a place to chill." Amebr said, walking into the Lounge. People were here and there, none she knew though. She yawned, a bit bored as she sat down in a chair. She thought about her Pokemon for a few minutes. Fang was doing wonderful with battling, his speed was attacks were looking good. Stings on the other hand... Amber shook her head. Well, with a little training she was sure Stings would prove to be great.

Soren walked around, looking for someone else to battle. Verona lounge was actually a very good place to train. Plenty of trainers and people he will only (hopefully) meet once in his life. Win, lose... did it matter? (Of course it did) He enjoyed winning. Who didn't? Winning meant that he was superior, meaning he was getting further.
He spotted a girl that seemed rather bored. Looking for a battle, he supposed. Everyone around here did. Soren did not feel too comfortable battling in the lounge itself, but it was a bit better than those white, bleached, tiny battlefields. It would do. And it would look good on him if he won, right? He thought about his Pokémon. They would definitely bring him victory. If not, he will just have to work harder.
Taking out two of his pokeballs, he presented them to the girl. "Doubles," he stated. Simple, to the point. He wanted to have a double battle with the girl, and he was already ready with his Pokémon on hand.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400] [th]Amber looked up to find a person had said some simple word: "Double." She got up quickly and pulled out her Pokeballs. "Ready when you are." She needed some excitement today, a battle would be perfect. She rubbed her two Pokeballs. It was a good thing she HAD two Pokemon, she really did need to catch some more. Her dark eyes scanned the guy. A bit weird, that's for sure but a battle was a battle no matter what. | | | |
Amber accepts!

Soren nodded when she accepted and took a few steps back to delimit their battlefield. Once he deemed it far enough, two of his Pokémon were released. Flynn came out first, the starly shaking its to wake himself up before looking at his surroundings in awe. Then came Elsu, calm and composed, holding his precious stick while getting ready to fight. Both were on the floor for now, their claws clicking against the marble floor. Were they going to fight here? Flynn hopped a bit more forward to explore a bit further but a little cry from Farfetch'd stopped him from wandering too far.
The trainer looked at Amber. It was now her turn to reveal her Pokémon. He hoped it wasn't a stupid geodude again. He had had it with those stealth rocks.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400] [th] Amber watched as he let his Pokémon out. Oh great, they were Flying types. She shook her head as she let her own Pokémon out. Stings was going to be bird food....again.
In a flash of light her two Pokémon were out. Fang yawned himself. Being awoken from his nap wasn't what he would have liked but he saw he was called for battle and snarled happily. Stings on the other hand was almost about to freak out. <EPP! F-f-lying t-t-types?!> God, she was going to be feed again. Fang rolled his eyes, she really needed to learn how to stay calm. <Just stay behind me and everything will be OK.> Stings didn't really do anything but stare in fear at the bird Pokémon.

Soren quickly scanned the two Pokémon with his pokedex. He had seen weedles quite a few times in the past, but this was the first time he had seen the dog Pokémon. A dark type and a bug type. The strategy was obvious. Get rid of the weedle and then double-team the poochyena.
Concentrating a bit, the trainer readied himself. His Pokémon felt the shift in the air and took off, spreading their gorgeous feathers out. "Hunt," he ordered. "Swiftly." The second word triggered an attack from Flynn, the starly immediately making his way across the air, toward the weedle with a quick attack. Behind him, the farfetch'd followed, his beak glowing white as it grew larger, readying for a peck attack on the same target.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400] [th] Stings tried to dodge but the two were coming from both ways. Even if she tried she would be attacked by one of them! <Why did I ever met you guys?!> She asked herself. Fang snarled. Oh sure, go after the bug and leave the dog alone. He couldn't beleive it, he was being ignored!
Amber had to think quick, Stings couldn't really dodge but maybe she could counter-attack! "Stings! Spin and use Poison Sting!"Stings curled up and spun herself, she was able to dodge the Peck but was soon hit by the Quick Attack. Spinning around faster she shot the Poison Sting going in all directions. Though Amber really didn't think it through because Fang was also in the line of fire...
Fang jumped the Poison Sting by an inch. Stumbling to his feet when he landed he barked at Stings to watch where she was shooting those things. "Use Ice Fang on the Farfetch'd!" Fang's teeth glowed a faint blue as he charged towards the Farfetch'd. <Next time think before you ignore a dog who knows an ice move!> | lv. 7.5

Soren was actually quite impressed that such a slow bug Pokémon was able to dodge that peck attack, and was ready to order Elsu to go again, to chase after it relentlessly. Unfortunately, the counter attack came. Flynn, still being pushed by the momentum of the quick attack, managed to dodge the majority of the poisonous stings, only getting a few caught in her feathers. Elsu, on the other hand, was in the line of fire. "Cover!" Soren ordered, and somehow, with a logic Soren wasn't going to question, Elsu managed to kick up a wall of sand, preventing the poison sting to deal fatal damage. He was still hit, but came out in a better position than expected.
Unfortunately, that is when the Ice Fang hit. Poochyena knew ice moves? A loud, ugly squawk was let out on Elsu's part as the Farfetch'd was hit hard. He was looking rather weak from that attack, but unwilling to give into the pain.
"Relentless," Soren ordered. "Flynn, Lower and Attack," he continued. The cryptic messages that he sent his Pokémon were understood by them perfectly. That is what training was for, wasn't it?
The Farfetch'd took half a second to steady himself and to regain composure before taking flight again. With his stick in his beak, he was getting serious. Apparently a Farfetch'd's stick gave them an extra boost, an extra little burst of strength. Clasping onto the leek, the Pokémon went for another peck on the weedle.
The Starly, still relatively unscathed, took a bit more time to execute her attack. He first let out a cute growl to distract both the pooch and the bug, hopefully lowering their resolve a bit, before he chose his target. Was Elsu going to hit? The Pokémon had a head start on her already. Instead, he chose to wait it out just a bit, flying a bit further out the ring to line himself up. His main target was the weedle, but if his teammate's attack finished it off, he could easily switch targets to attack the dog. Dear Arceus he hoped he did not have to go against those sharp canines.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400] [th] Fang snarled. He was being completely ignored....again! Though he did make some damage on the Farfetch'd.
Stings couldn't believe it! She was the only target?! What about Fang?! She scrambled out of the way of the Starly but behind her was hit with the Peck and Sand-attack. She couldn't beleive it! Both aimming on her, how rude! <Ouch....> She groaned.
"Stings! Can you do one last attack?" Amber cried out. Stings struggled to her 'legs' but plopped back down again. She was down for the count. Amber sighed and returned her to her Pokeball. "You did great." She said then placed it back. "Looks like it's up to you, Fang." He snarled happily. Since he wasn't even hit once he was ready to let lose. "Use Howl, then follow with Ice Fang on Farfetch'd!"
Fnag howled loudly, raising his spirit and attack. Then charged at the Farfetch'd with faint blue fangs once again.

Finally, the weedle went down. Now Soren was about to face something much scarier. That ice fang attack made the trainer shudder while his Pokémon desperately scrambled to fly out of range. The howl was the only warning he got before Elsu knew it was over for him. In a desperate attempt, Soren quickly ordered one last attack from the Pokémon. "Poison!" he called out. Just as Fang was about to hit, the Farfetch'd's wings glowed purple as his feathers were imbibed with poison. It wouldn't do any direct attack but hopefully it would be enough to poison the poochyena.
The ice fang did good work on the bird pokemon, and Elsu fainted with the knowledge that he did as much as he could. A red glow surrounded him as Soren returned the Pokémon to his pokeball. It was one on one again, and against a Pokémon that knew a powerful ice move, Soren did not think he could win.
"Lower and Attack," was all he could command. The growl was expected, the Pokémon trying to lower the strength of that canine Pokémon as much as he could, but the next attack was different. What should have been a tackle turned into something more as the Starly flew toward the Poochyena with more conviction, his wings glowing slightly as it braced for impact. Wing Attack. Her feathers looked even more glorious and the trainer figured that, win or lose, it did not matter. Flynn was the real winner here, with a new attack at his disposal.

He stumbled backwards and he felt dizzy. Great, he was poisoned! He tried to shake it off to dodge the next attack but was soon face to face with the Starly.
Amber needed to think quickly. The Starly closed in fast, then she got an idea. "Fang, when it gets close use Ice Fang on it's wing and don't let go!"
Fang sturggled up, though he was smacked by the Wing Attack he opened his mouth to chomp down on the wings of the Starly, having at least some will to not let go.

The attack was enough to do quite a bit of damage to the fragile bird pokemon. Elsu was always tougher and could handle more hits. Flynn was more delicate, younger, less experienced, and the chilled fangs made his veins feel like ice. He tried to fly away, futilely flapping his wings. Stray feathers started to scatter from the wound and Soren had seen enough. He had lost this battle and wasn't going to allow his pokemon to suffer for it.
Taking his pokeball out, just as his pokemon was fainting from that attack, he returned Flynn to the safe confines of his pokeball. "Good match," he muttered, as a formality, before walking away. He had to find a healing machine to heal his beloved pokemon up a bit.

It was time for Eleanor to test her strength on other Trainers. Fighting wild Pokémon was all well and good, but not really good enough. The true experience lay in battling a fellow Trainer. Sometimes even in losing to one.
Walking into the Trainer's Lounge, Eleanor gave Amber a cold smile. "You can dictate the rules of our battle," she said softly.

So. A Bug Type, hmm? Her Pokemon were a little low in level, but Goku would do, and histype advantage could even the plying field more than enough for her to win, if she was smart enough and her opponent sloppy enough. However, Aeria was at an even lower level, and could be summoned then quickly returned for a share of the experience. Expanding her Pokeball, she sent out the Pidgey. First to obscure the Pokemon's vision with Sand Attack, then do a little damage. Aeria could probably survive two or three hits before fainting, and she would then send out Goku to finish the Kakuna off. "Sand Attack and Tackle," she ordered, and the Pidgey obeyed, sending a spray of sand from the arena ground at the Kakuna's eyes, before soaring down, claws outstretched and splayed for a Tackle attack. ::pidgey:: Aeria uses Sand Attack and Tackle. Hit by the Poison Stings, although thankfully spared the pain of poison coursing through her veins, Aeria nevertheless shrieked in pain as the purple needles pierced her smooth, plump plumage.
However, she also felt anger and indignation at the mutilation of her beautiful feathers! The indignity! Eleanor found herself amused by the bird's antics. "Sand Attack and Tackle," she ordered.
Repeating her actions, Aeria swooped down and kicked sand up again, before moving up in an attempt to ambush the Kakuna in a Tackle and topple it over.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400] [th]Stings closed her eyes just in time before her eyes were hit by the Sand-Attack. Feeling the force of the Tackle Stings was knocked to the ground, struggling to get back on her...needle(?) she turned wildly to get back up.
Amber watched, if Stings couldn't get back up she couldn't battle! Then Amber looked up at the ceiling, wait a minute... "Stings, String Shot at the ceiling!" She yelled. Stings shot the gooey stuff up in the air, hitting the ceiling. "Quick, pull yourself up!" Stings pulled herself up slowly and got back up right. Though it took her entire turn to do so she was back up again.

Seeing the possibility of an extra turn as the Kakuna fell, Eleanor smiled coolly as Aeria circled the battlefield,r eady for another move. "Reduce its accuracy again. Use Sand Attack, then Tackle."Although Aeria managed to kick some sand up, when the Kakuna improvised and pulled herself up with the String Shot, Aeria undershot her mark, and with a caw of displeasure, missed. Eleanor frowned as this occurred. Seemed the Trainer and her Pokemon were more innovative than she had guessed, and that left Eleanor in a difficult position. However, she held no delusions that Aeria would win. This was merely experience for her. ::pidgey:: Aeria uses Tackle (fails) and Sand Attack.
