NAME: Rollen Alexander
GENDER:Male
AGE:12
APPEARANCE:To his disappointment, Rollen only reaches about five feet. Of course this doesn't hinder anything he chooses to do, he simply thinks that being taller would be... nice. On days when he actually wants to achieve his goal, he'll sculpt his short, light-chestnut hair into small spikes to give him another inch, if even that much. Though, these days are few and far between; he'd much rather get out of bed and leave it as the mess it is.
Although he's quite disappointed with his height, his slim build seems to satisfy him nicely. He's not overly muscular, not gonna gain much from just running all the time. His love for running is what carrys him to most of his destinations. His skin tone compliments him well; he's not pale in the least bit, but he isn't too dark. At times he wonders why he's the only one in his family to be born with dark green eyes(which happen to be flecked with a lighter green), but he normally disregards this fact and just calls it a 'nice, interesting gift'.
As far as clothing goes, Rollen likes to keep it simple and comfortable. A forest-green shirt with a basic outline of a red phoenix stitched onto the front adorns his torso. His pants are a nice mahogany color with very thin, white, vertical pinstripes, held up by a narrow, white belt. Slip-on shoes are, in his opinion, the most comfortable type of running shoes ever made, so that is what he wears to begin his quest. Though, perhaps he should have purchased a new pair; these are quite ragged from years of dirt.
PERSONALITY:If you absolutely had to describe him in two words, the first thing that would come to one's mind would most likely be 'easy going'. Others may just call it lazy. Despite his love to run he only moves when necessary. While many of his family members(mainly his mother and father) tend to try and push him forward, to actually try hard at something, Rollen would much rather take his time to make sure whatever it is he's going for is done thoroughly. He enjoys it more that way, especially when he's always seeing others fly through things and only getting the job half-complete.
Although he seems to be quite the lazy person, Rollen loves jogging. He finds it pretty strange, but he figures it's just a random bump in his otherwise laid back personality. Other than that minor detail, everything else is smoothed out. He doesn't really speak unless spoken to, and when he does happen to talk, he's usually polite and manages to use his manners. Though manners come second-nature to Rollen, when someone needs help, he never feels the urge to... well, help. Tending to go about his business has gotten him in trouble in the past, but Rollen doesn't find this as a bad thing. Perhaps he'll change in the future? He doubts it, but since he's starting something new, why not try to change himself for the better? It's worth a shot.
HISTORY:
Raised in a small village on the coast of the a Johto Region, Rollen never had it rough. He grew up in a quaint little house with both of his parents and his older brother, Darren. He loved the scenery, and he admired just how green the place was.
At age nine, Rollen watched as Darren turned sixteen and received his first Pokémon. Those two were inseparable, it seemed, so naturally, Rollen wanted to have a Pokémon too; he wanted to be just like them. But of course, his parents scolded him, telling him that he was much too young, so he would just have to wait. That meant he only had to suffer through a few more years of nothing.
As time slowly passed, however, Rollen began losing interest in becoming a trainer. He didn't mind in the least bit that others loved pokemon, started their own journeys, entered competitions and other similar things, but he just couldn't find a reason to love them enough to go out on his own. It wasn't as if he hated the creatures. He'd simply never experienced the compassion or bonds first hand, so, thanks to his lazy attitude, why even bother?
By the age of eleven, his brother had been long gone, so Rollen had nothing better to do than take up contest watching. He didn't want anything to do with entering the contests, simply watching them was good enough. The way trainers and Pokémon worked so closely, the way they worked together to form beautiful moves, was just... thrilling. Battles seemed to catch his interest as well, but his parents still couldn't convince him to get a Pokémon of his own and try it out.
Rollen was taken by complete surprise on his twelfth birthday when his brother came back to join the celebration. Rollen hadn't seen him since the day he left, but he noticed that he hadn't changed all that much. Well, with the exception of his Pokémon team. They were strong, seemed to all get along, and strangely, this is what seemed to suddenly rekindle his interest. He wanted something along the lines of that; to have a bond similar to the one his brother had. Sure, it probably wouldn't turn out exactly the same, but for the first time in his life, he felt a drive to experience something new.
As suddenly as he arrived, his brother once again vanished into the wild of Johto. But before leaving, Rollen was told marvelous tales of adventure, danger, ups and downs, and left and rights during his brothers journey through the Johto and Kanto regions. However, what seemed most stunning were his stories of a land talked about by many experienced trainers. Stories of this land, still mysterious to his brother intrigued Rollen. This land was known as the Cheyenne Region Having his fire back for training, he knew that before long he would embark on a quest much like his brothers. So as his brother walked into back into the wild, he made the commitment that he would too have these tales his brother once told him about, but they would be his own. He wanted a different life, a different journey, yet the same passion and bond his brother and Pokémon had. This commitment carried his feet to the Cheyenne Region, a place unknown to him and was shrouded in mystery. This new area would be the start of his quest for a deep bond between the Pokémon of the region and ultimately experiencing a connection between brothers, despite being miles a part, because they are both Pokémon Trainers.
RP SAMPLE:
Rollen gave the Kirlia a small smile as she brought him his starter pack and then as the Assistant gave him his pokeball with his Chimchar in it his heart skyrocketed. "Thank you so much" Rollen said to the man. "I will take great care of him." and a joyous smile flashed across his face. Rollen turned to the Jigglypuff and kneeled down to give the cute yet anoying Pokémon a pat on the head. He stood back and and shook the assistants hand. Rollen picked up the starter pack items and put them in his pack while still holding the pokeball tightly in his right hand. Right away he turned and headed out the great labs doors.
Once outside he stopped and took a long hard look at the Red and White ball he held in his right hand. Yet another smile engulfed him. This was it the start of his journy. He opened the pokeball and his smiling Chimchar came out. Again he kneeled down and said in to the Chimchar "Hello, my name is Rollen and im your new Trainer." with a great grin on his face. "Are you ready for the journy ahead?" The Chimchar let out a squel of what seemed like excitement. "Alright then lets go!" He called back the Chimchar back into its pokeball and again took a look at the ball. Then looked around and seen the sign for route one. Okay, lets go, but this time instead of jogging lets walk and enjoy this. he quickly said to himself. Soon enough he was heading to Route 1 and ready to begin his long adventure.

LOL is he really 5"7 and age 12? That seems tall for that kind of age, especially in boys. But anyways, I wasn't sure if it was a typo. carry on
