Full Name: Seitecca Maebell Black, AKA Sei
Gender: Female
Age: 19, August 23
Appearance:
Sei isn't much to look at, really. Her skin it not too pale, but not tanned, either. Her hair is short and messy, it sticks up uncontrollably, and is a drab black. Her eyes are a light amber-brown, and argueably her most appealing feature. Other than this, there's nothing really special about her, she has no peircings or jewlry, and she doesn't wear makeup. The part of her that stands out the most are the three scars across her neck, the scars that ruined her voice.
Her outfit is simple, a deep, almos black, purple t-shirt with the image of a ghastly on it. Over this, she often wears a black jacket, if not, it's often tied around Sei's waist or slung over her arm. She never wears shorts or skirt, always darkly-colored jeans. If the occaision calls for it, the tomboy will grudgingly wear a dress. Her footwear usually is some sort of flipflop or sandal.
Background: Sei has a complex background. To anyone other than she, she had a perfect life. A simple family, a mom, a dad, and a brother. A traditional family, and happy on the outside. In her younger years, even Sei kept up the act, behaving as if she had a perfect life. She saw no harm in pretending, back then. For that time, her life was mainly uneventful. Then she began to tire of the injustices thrown at her. It became clear to her that her brother was the favored child, all because he was a boy. She was the one her family was ashamed of. After all, she acted roughly, and ran off to play with pokemon, a capital offense in her family. After all, they where hunters. They did not play with pokemon, they sold them at the highest price.
In those days, her life began to change. Fall apart and shown as it truely was, as strange a combination as that is. She and her parents fought, and Sei began to look for ways to vent her anger issues. So, she began to free some of the Pokémon her parents caught. At first, she let loose a hoothoot here and a rattata there. Then she began to let loose rarer and better Pokémon. She did it not only to rebel now. She felt that it was only right. Needless to say, she was caught. She was trying to undo a particularly complex not to free a Houndoom when her parents found her red-handed. Her punishment was horrid, that's all that can be said. It's how her voice got broken.
After that, she stopped freeing Pokémon. It killed her to see them treated the way people treated them, so she began to cut off ties to humans. Not that it was hard to do, as at this point any ties she had were in tatters. She contented herself to watch nature and draw, biding her time until she could leave and make a life for herself. that is, until the day her parents brought in a spirited little Sneasel. He fought them, even though it was a loosing battle. When Sei saw him, she knew she had to help him. Not only release him, but get him far away, so he'd never be caught again.
That night, she gathered up her things and the little money she owned, and stole out into the area her parents held their captured Pokémon. She picked the lock on the Sneasel's cage, and she took it far, far away. She boarded a boat in Castelia City to goto Cheyennewith her newfound partner. Not long into their sea journey, though, a bad storm hit their ship. The ship wrecked, and Sei and her stolen Sneasel where tossed overboard into the tossing waves.
Miraculously, they survived the storm, but they still had the problem about how they where stranded on a platform of wood in the middle of the ocean. It wasn't easy, all they could really do was fight off Sharpedo and other ocean preadators in the hope that they'd find land. They didn't have any luck. That is, until the fourth day. They where found and picked up by a ship passing by. Unfortunately, though, that ship had two unfortunate passangers; Sei's parents, off to find their daughter and the Sneasel she had stolen.
It wasn't Sei who stood up to them, though. The Sneasel and herself had developed a bond over the time they had spent together, and she wasn't about to let her trainer be attacked, even by her parents. Though she wasn't very strong, Sei's parents hadn't brought strong Pokemon, not expecting their daughter to have a pokemon with her. So, once the boat docked in Cheyennne, Seitecca was happy to enter the new reigion with her new friend and partner, Mizuki.
Personality:
Sei is just as complex as her past. She likes to pretend she's a mute, just so she won't have to talk. She hates the sound of her voice, it sounds like a growl, and she stutters. She never used to stutter, and she hates that her voice was changed so drastically. Not that she used her voice much anyways, seeing as the people she grew up around left her with the impression that humans where the bad guys. Deep down she knows not all people are like that, but her stubbon pride makes her refuse to admit it.
Once you get past her rough, anti-social outside, though, she's really rather nice. She always pushes past her limits, which can sometimes make her seem cruel while training her pokemon, but she really just wants them to be the best they can be. Still, she can be over-protective of her 'family'. If they where in danger, she'd protect them with her life, no exceptions.
