Tyro's Rattata heard what this other Rattata said and sighed slightly. He wasn't sure how a wild Rattata could make something as complicated as a stew...in fact, he had no idea how it was done, so there was no way he could do anything about it. <W-well, I'm sorry but I...don't have the right kind of materials anymore. Y-yeah.... This is the best I've got right now. I know it's disappointing, but...it's still pretty good.> He was kind of hoping that the younger Rattata would understand...or that they'd find his real mother soon. It was harder for him to play the role of a mother...when he was both NOT related to this little guy and when he was actually MALE. Tyro sighed.... The two seemed to be having trouble, and he needed to get moving. If he was to get back to training, he had to get going to move on to the next city. But if this little Pokemon was holding him up he wasn't going to get anywhere. He was getting a bit impatient and crossed his arms. Meanwhile, all of his other Pokemon were already eating...a nice break from what they'd done so far today. ::Rattata:: Tries to convince the young Rattata to eat it

::rattata:: lv 3, female Guts, Run Away Tackle, Tail Whip It's a baby who thinks Tyro's Rattata is her mama...though his is a male. New Born who was abandoned by her mom, HOW SAD!
The Rattata looked at the food. She couldn't chew hard food like that, her teeth were still coming in. Her small teeth in front couldn't eat food like that, it needed to be mushed for her. <Can't you crush it up, mama?> She asked with big eyes. The young Rattata couldn't figure out that Tyro's Rattata wasn't her mother, though she was alone in the wild and did need someone to help her survive it wasn't his Rattata's job.
The baby then looked up to Tyo with big eyes. Begging him to stay or take her along. She wanted and needed a place to stay. The young one couldn't stay on route 1 alone, she would be carried off by a Spearow no doubt. <P-please take me along?> She pleaded. Almost knowing what Tyro was thinking about. By the look in his eyes she could tell he did not want her. Who else would take care of her though? No friends, no family she knew of, she was all alone in this world.

The Rattata nearly jumped at the baby Rattata's words. <O-oh...right, of course....> he thought. He sighed slightly, looking over at Lan for a bit of help...but it didn't seem as though the Charmander noticed. Or, rather, that he was completely ignoring what was going on over there. But Tyro's Rattata didn't catch that part. He sighed and started to chew up the food before putting it back on the plate, nice and mushed for the young Rattata. Once he was done, he sighed. That was kind of disgusting to him...but he knew that all young Rattata were like this, so he didn't say anything. Tyro sighed at the Rattata's words. "Okay, look." he said simply. "I'll take you with us, but on two conditions. You do your best not to slow us down, and once we reach the next town, you're going back in the PC...and this is ONLY if we can't find-" He then suddenly remembered that he had no idea that this wasn't his mother. "...somewhere else for you to stay. Is that understood?" He had no intention of dragging TWO Rattatas with him everywhere he went.... That would be nothing but trouble. ::Rattata:: Mushes up the food for the young Rattata

The rattata looked at her 'mom' and smiled nodding to all the conditions. She started eating the food, even though she didn't like it. <I won't slow you down and please keep me, I'll be strong!> she said through a mouthful of food. Suddenly the baby felt claws form themselves around her and drag her off the ground. <Hey wait!> The baby Rattata yelled tears falling from her face as the pidgey flew over to his trainer. <Mommmy!> The rattata cried.
Garett threw a pokeball up and caught it, doing this continually as he looked at the trainer and his Rattata. The poacher was surrounded by three birds, a Pidgey who was holding the baby Rattata, A hoothoot and a Taillow flying above his head. "Thanks for distracting her for me, it took forever to track her. After I killed her mother, I didn't want to leave the baby to get revenge on me." he snickered.

Metro, as the name Tyro had come up for his Rattata at long last, just stood there, flabbergasted, as a Pidgey just made off with that baby Rattata and brought it to her Trainer to capture. He had absolutely no idea what had just happened. Tyro, on the other hand, was of a different story. He knew exactly what happened and reacted almost instantaneously. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to intervene in time and stop the stranger from capturing the Rat Pokemon. Sad as it was, it appeared as though the Rattata's fate was sealed at this point. Regardless, in a flash, three of Tyro's Pokemon were in front of him: Lan, Jason (his Pikachu) and Tithonus, his new Metapod. Tithonus seemed a bit nervous to be out in front of him like this, especially against Bird Pokemon...but Tyro ignored it. He would fight just as hard as the others. He needed to be trained somehow, after all. "Look here." Tyro said sternly, obviously angry at what had just transpired. "I don't mind you taking that Rattata off of my hands. Less work on me and less to hold me back. But you shouldn't speak of Pokemon so lightly. Pokemon are living things that deserve that very right...the right to live. You had no business killing an innocent creature. Now that I know you've killed that Rattata's real mother...I'll just have to make sure you pay for it. Hard." Tyro was definitely not happy with this new Poacher. "I'll teach you what happens when you take a Pokemon's life." He looked down at Lan and Jason. He knew they would fight well enough. But Tithonus seemed like he was still shaking. But he ignored that...this was a necessary battle for him. With that, Tyro and his Pokemon were ready for the confrontation. Moxie, Haru and Metro were still hanging back, ready for whenever they might be needed, and his three main fighters were ready to go...save for Tithonus, who wanted nothing more than to run back behind Tyro's leg. But from his experiences with his previous Trainer...he remembered that that never ended well. So he stood his ground with the other two Pokemon, hoping that they'd be able to cover for him and keep him from getting too badly hurt.... ::Metapod:: ::Pikachu:: ::Charmander:: All ready for attack

"Sigh..." The Poacher said when she saw that the trainer did not agree with her train of thought, or her actions for that matter. It seemed she had to take on this challenger now as he quickly summoned three Pokémon and got ready for a battle against her. The Poacher wasn't a huge fan of a triple battle so she quickly just called one of her Pokémon out while the others stayed. Although captured, she decided to keep the Rattata outside of it's pokeball so that her Pidgey could keep an eye on it. She felt like showing the Rattata a few things about her strength, so it'd never try to rebel against her for killing it's mother. She wanted it to know how strong she was and that there was no way she'd ever be beaten... The Pidgey was too preoccupied with the Rattata to battle so it had to be one of the other two. She sort of favored the Taillow though over the other Pokémon so that was the choice for now. "Alright, lets battle. I'll use my Taillow first." She said as Jude quickly made it onto the field and got ready for a battle against Tyro. "Your turn." Tyro watched as one of the three Bird Pokemon were brought forth. This was even better for him. Because now, he could arrange for Tithonus to battle against an opponent he had a better chance against, rather than risk the Taillow abusing Peck over him. "Fine. If that's the way you want it, it's easier on me that way. Go on, Jason. Let's show them what we've got, and how strong you are. This is your first battle with me...try not to disappoint me." He smirked slightly. He didn't like how they were still messing with the Rattata...but he was going to stop that and fast. <Don't worry about it.> Jason said with a slight smirk. <Beating a Bird Pokemon like that should be a snap.> He stood ready, just about to engage this Taillow. He had no plans on letting this Taillow win.... Then again, he had no intention of letting this Taillow even get a hit in. He hoped to finish this up with a single shot. He clenched his cheeks, which started to spark...and a moment later, a torrent of electricity was launched at the Taillow with Thundershock. ::Pikachu:: Lv. 10 Moves: Growl, Thundershock, Tail Whip, Thunder Wave Stepped forward and used Thundershock on Taillow!

"Your first battle? Are you sure that rat is even trained?" Garrett sighed dramatically with a roll of his eyes, knowing that even with a type advantage, if it wasn't trained it simply wasn't tamed. That Thundershock sure was ready to hit his poor Jude though, and he felt a bit bad after seeing the flying type get the shock of her life. She fluttered with annoying noises, mixed with squeals and honks, clearly annoyed with these fools.
<You idiot why you do this? I don't like this! Stupid rat, why is there a stupid rat around these parts!? Ugh!> She huffed, not seeing any electric types around here recently. It was not a nice surprise for her. At all. She knew in times of dire situations, it was best to focus all of her energy into her wings. The focus energy begun, and Garrett noticed this with a small smile.
"Clever. Now use Quick Attack." The poacher seemed amused as Jude flew after that Pikachu with good agility and grace, despite her inability to keep that beak of hers shut. He wondered if this would be a three on three battle, since that did seem a bit tedious. Maybe he'd cut it short.

Jason just rolled his eyes at the Taillow's reaction to getting electrocuted. Nothing was more annoying than somebody who refused to shut up. Unless they refused to just give up when it was clear they were out-matched. And this Taillow matched that description almost perfectly. <Ah, shut up, will ya?> he growled in irritation. This bird was already getting on his nerves. But before he could continue anything, he suddenly felt the Bird Pokemon's body slam hard into his face. The unforeseen attack caused the Pikachu to reel for a moment before falling backwards and onto his back. <OW!> he yelled out before getting back to his feet. <Why you...! I dare you to try that again!>Jason let out a very irritated Growl...one that would hopefully slow the Taillow down, or at least lessen the impact of the next move...and then he followed it up with yet another attack. Clenching his cheeks yet again, he unleashed a second volley of electricity...this time not really any different than last time in terms of power...but there was definitely more anger in this shot than the last one. Tyro had said nothing to the poacher, and just continued to watch. He would let his Pokémon do the talking...not himself. Lv. 10 Hit by Quick Attack! Used Growl and Thundershock on Taillow!

Garett wasn't surprised on how much he was being underestimated, no all the time did his pokemon get hit two times in a row. <Let me go you meany, I don't like you hurting my mommy's pokemon friends> The baby Rattata complained. Garett walked over to the pokemon, grabbing it's head. "I don't plan on killing you, so if you shut up and come with me, you'll not me killed." He snarled at the pokemon that was in his Pidgey's claws.
The Taillow narrowly managed to miss the thundershock attack and laughed. She burst out laughing at the rat. <You call that an attack Rat. That just goes to show we're better then you!> She cawed. Zooming towards the Pikachu with a Peck attack. Folding her wings to increase speed with her beak forward.

The Pikachu was annoyed that the Taillow had managed to somehow spin out of the way of his Electric-type attack...but that wasn't all that he had to worry about. The Taillow was on its way over here again, and he had to protect himself or else he'd take more damage...but that didn't happen in time. The Taillow proved her speed and he felt the beak slam down hard into his head, causing him to cry out with another loud and aggravated, <OW!!> Now, normally this move wouldn't have done much...but this blow seemed to do some additional damage than what it normally should have done. Growling in irritation once more, Jason didn't hesitate in launching yet another Thundershock at the Bird Pokemon, whether she was hanging around at close range or flying away from him. Meanwhile, Tyro just watched...kind of annoyed at how poorly Jason seemed to be faring against a Pokemon he should have defeated by now. "Come on, Jason, pick things up a bit. We need to get moving again." Jason rolled his eyes at his Trainer's words, but didn't respond. He wanted to take this Taillow down even harder now. ::Pikachu:: Lv. 10 Hit by Peck! {It's not very effective.... Critical Hit!} Used Growl and Thundershock (again) on Jude! The Taillow didn't have time to get away from the attack from her last attack being so close. It hit her straight on and the electricity flew through her body she screeched in pain and blacked out, falling to the ground with a thud. Fainting from the blow of the thunder attack.
< No I wanna stay with mommy> The Rattata sank it's teeth into the trainers arm. It wasn't an attack, she was just using self defense for herself. Garett recoiled with a sound of pain. Sucking his finger where the baby had bite him he looked over at Jude who was fainted on the ground. Fear struck into him, he may have been a poacher but his pokemon meant the world to him. "Take the rattata, I don't care, just don't hurt my pokemon anymore" He said. As his pidgey threw the Rattata at the Pikachu. The baby landed right on the Pikachu with a 'oof'. Garett rushed over to Jude holding her in his arms.

Tyro watched as the next events unfolded. First, Jason's attack was able to finish off that Taillow. Then afterward, this poacher suddenly had a change of heart...one that he found very unlikely. It sounded as though he was using this as an excuse to get away without being properly dealt with. Well, he wouldn't have any of that. "I'm not falling for it." Tyro said simply. "There's no way a man who'd be willing to kill a Pokemon for no reason would feel so drastically for his own Pokemon. Tithonus, stop them. Use String Shot on him...just like you did against Lan!"As the Rattata was thrown by the Pidgey, it hit Jason square in his chest, knocking him onto his back again, with the Rattata laying across his stomach. The Pikachu growled in irritation at the Rattata...but knew it wasn't his fault. <...Get offa me, will ya?> he groaned, not wanting to just throw the young Pokemon off like he would anybody else. Tithonus, in response to Tyro's words, was hesitant...but he ultimately obeyed. He had been through too much to know that disobedience would not be fun. He leaned back slightly and thrust his body forward, spitting out a sticky, silky thread aimed right at Garret's legs, hoping to tie them up so that he couldn't get away nearly as easily. "You're not going anywhere." Tyro said. "At least have the guts to finish what you started. If you win...I'll let you go. If not...well we'll see." He crossed his arms...he was NOT one to be underestimated. He wasn't going to let this guy walk away after a single defeat. Besides...Tithonus still needed to battle. And so did Lan. They needed the training. Sure, he hadn't actually started running away yet...but he knew exactly what he planned to do...or at least, what he thought he'd try to do. "Besides...there's nothing I can do about the Rattata. You caught it, and so now he's yours. I can't take him back now." ::Metapod:: Lv. 8.5 Used String Shot on Garret's legs, trying to tie them together

Trainer grinned darkly at the Metapod. Strong as the strings were, they were no match for the experienced bird-watcher's powerful legs. "I may have caught it, but that doesn't mean it belongs to me. If you manage to beat me, who knows, I just might drop the ball..." He recalled Rattata to it's pokeball, effective even across the battlefield, and showed it to Tyro. "Little brat is turning out to be a pain in the ass, anyway."
Pocketing the orb for now, his next pokemon was sent out. A glossy Pidgey fluffed his feathers, preening before casting a glare in Metapod's direction. <What do you think you're doing? String Shot...tch. How pathetic...>
He knew he could beat Metapod. Pikachu was another story. He tried not to appear visibly shaken, but the thought of being zapped by just one jolt of Pikachu's electricity sent chills through his body. Quickly he kicked up a cloud of sand, hoping to avoid being hit.

Tyro couldn't help but smirk slightly as Tithonus' String Shot was successful. It didn't look particularly strong, but he didn't care. It stopped him, and he was very obviously ready to continue the battle where he'd left off. Good. That was all he wanted or cared about. As the cloud of sand was kicked up to start a battle between the Pidgey and Jason...Tyro couldn't help but let out an audible chuckle. "Heheh.... You seem to be under the impression that I need to keep my Pikachu out in the battle to be victorious.... I don't think so. I'm in this for my Pokemon. Not for myself. Jason, you've done your work. Come back here and give somebody else a shot." He looked at his remaining two Pokemon that he had chosen earlier. Which one would he use next? Tithonus needed the training the most. However, that Pidgey could use Sand Attack. Sending out a Pokemon like Metapod against a Pokemon with Sand Attack could lead to a rough battle. So, he turned his attention to the Hunter's second Pokemon. A Hoothoot.... He knew a Hoothoot did not learn Sand-Attack, and therefore would be the easiest opponent. The perfect opponent for his Metapod. "...Alright Lan. You're up next. Tithonus, you hold on for a bit longer." Lan nodded and stepped out onto the battlefield, ready to fight to his Trainer's content. He wouldn't let this Pidgey show him up! The Charmander pounded a fist into his palm and smirked slightly, in a way that matched Tyro's. <Ready for a beating?> he asked. ::Charmander:: Lan, Lv. 11 Gender: Male Moves: Scratch, Growl, Ember, Smokescreen, Crunch Ability: Blaze Ready to destroy this Pidgey!

NPC Garrett [atrb=border,0,true] ::pidgey:: { Juno } Level 8|Male Keen Eye|Tangled Feet Attacks: Tackle, Sand Attack Personality: A coward, an idiot, and a fool with a superiority complex. Sand Attack and Tackle on Charmander

"Charmander, huh? It would be a lot more valuable than that Rattata." The poacher mused as he rubbed his chin, trying not to worry about the state of the battle they were in. That Pikachu was going to give his entire team problems, which frustrated him. It was a shame, he really did make an effort to train the birds he had on him. Juno was a reliable one though, so he thought the bird could beat that lizard into the ground.
Juno seemed relieved when he was greeted with a Charmander, and started to get pumped up about this. He was better than some lizard, birds ate lizards! At least he heard that they did, so why did he have to be afraid?
"Sand Attack and Tackle." Garrett demanded, looking the trainer in the eye with a serious expression. They were going down, and that Rattata was going with them. The Pidgey let out a loud cry as he kicked up some sand for the Charmander to enjoy, then attempted to tackle his belly.

Tyro met the gaze of this other Trainer...Hunter person. To Tyro, that was all he was. Nothing more than a faceless person who needed to be crushed and taught a lesson. Like he had emphasized before, he couldn't care less about the young Rattata involved. It would only hinder his movements in the future. If the Pokeball was placed in his care, very well then. He would just leave it at the Pokemon Center and return back to his original team and goal. If the Rattata was stuck in the possession of this other Hunter...he wouldn't care less. That would simply mean he would have one less thing to worry about. He just wanted this Hunter to be aware that he was treating Pokemon the wrong way and that he had messed with the wrong Trainer. Lan, used to fighting on his own without his Trainer's orders at this point, was ready to battle this Pidgey without his Trainer's help. Regardless, the sudden kick of sand met his face, and he stumbled, letting out a lout cry of surprise. As he was busy trying to wipe the sand from his eyes, he felt a heavy blow to his stomach. He slid backward on his feet, and when the Tackle was done, he fell to one of his knees, one of his claws, clutching at his belly where the Tackle had hit him. His other arm was still wiping sand from his eyes. Finally, he was ready for his own counterattack. He got back up, growling in irritation, and coughed a bit. A bit of his wind had been knocked out of him. <Grr.... You'll pay for that!> he growled angrily. Taking this chance to start the fight for himself, he opened his mouth and a thick black smoke poured out of his mouth using Smokescreen. Of course, due to his inexperience, he had yet to learn that it was impossible for a Pidgey to lose its accuracy due to its Ability of Keen Eye. All that was on his mind was to try to cloud this Pidgey's vision to the best of his ability. After he was satisfied with the amount of thick smoke in the air, he changed attacks. He blasted a barrage of small fireballs from his mouth next, aiming as best as he could with his Ember attack. ::Charmander:: Lan, Lv. 11 Hit by Sand Attack and Tackle! Garett couldn't hold back a little bit of a smirk as he watched the Charmander start to fill the air with smoke--a useless waste of his turn, he knew that much. The trainer was confident in the abilities of his bird, and so he practically crowed with delight as he said, "Nice move choice." It didn't look this other trainer was giving his Pokemon any sort of guidance at all, really. Garett wondered at this for a moment but then decided that he didn't really care after all.
This guy had threatening him, but was his bite as bad as his bark? The Pikachu was going to be a probably (already had been for poor Jude) but they weren't facing off with the little electric mouse at the moment. So it was with confidence that Garett ordered, "Juno, Tackle it! Hard as you can!"
The bird Pokemon let out a shriek as he was singed by the embers, but thankfully they didn't appear to leave a lasting burn. Frustrated by his opponent, Juno flapped into the air for a few wingbeats and gave an angry shriek before folding his wings and aiming to tackle the lizard into the ground.

Tyro was disappointed, he had to admit. His Pokemon had decided to open up with a useless move. He let out a small sigh, but he figured he shouldn't scold Lan. After all, he had no way of knowing this error. Besides, he's sure that Tackle attack to the gut was punishment enough. Right now, he had to keep his mind focused, and keep his eyes on the other Trainer...this poacher that he wasn't going to let get away from him. He crossed his arms and studied both things at once...his opponent's actions and his own Pokemon's decisions. He still wasn't going to tell Lan what to do just yet...only in the case of an emergency.... Lan growled in annoyance as the Pidgey seemed unaffected by his Smokescreen. <Wh-what the...!?> he called out in surprise. Why hadn't that worked? He didn't get it! Well...he supposed that for that reason, he shouldn't try to use it again. But due to his surprise, he was unable to avoid the incoming Tackle attack that the Pidgey was coming at him with. He felt the Pidgey's body ram him square in the face, Tackling him hard. The force of the attack, as well as the fact that he was still off guard, caused him to get slammed down hard onto his back. <Y-you punk....> he growled. He was starting to hate this stupid little bird more and more every passing second. And he was going to get him back for this...and he was going to start with this reaction move! <Stupid bird...nobody gets the best of ME and gets away with it! Eat this!> he "roared" up at the Tiny Bird Pokemon above him. He opened his mouth and let out a barrage of small fireballs at his opponent's chest. He was, of course, using yet another Ember attack. ::Charmander:: Lan, Lv. 11 Hit by Tackle! Used Ember on Juno! On his back at Juno's feet, even more furious {ACC: -1}

Bird trainer Garret
Well at least the little fool wasn't trying to use smokescreen again, It seemed that idiots could be taught. The bird was snickering at this thought when the next ember hit him, and sent him tumbling out of the air and landing at his trainer's feet. The little brown bird squawked out a cuss before hopping onto his feet and shaking himself out, glaring at the stupid fire type for a while, before he started cackling slightly. <Pfft, so pathetic> The bird scoffed out, spreading out a wing and admiring it at a distance. <Yknow maybe if I was like...newly hatched, that might have hurt.> He said, before launching a confident grin toward the Charmander, his little beak curled up in a sneer. "Juno, don't be so full of yourself...at least not so loudly." Said the trainer, his arms crossed over his chest and his eyes locked on his opponent, this guy didn't stand a chance against his epic bird! "Go show him how to lower accuracy, then give another tackle!" The bird trainer called, pointing toward the little fire lizard as though it would lock his bird on target. The pidgey hopped a bit before diving down into the sand, covering his wings in the small soil crystals before flapping them at the Charmander, sending out a cloud of dust to block his vision and get into his eyes. Some might call it a cheap shot, he called it strategy. He then ran forward, his head low and his body ready to launch a full on physical tackle.
