Starting out in the Cheyenne region had been so similar yet so different than Alexa's first attempt at being a trainer. In both cases she had been running from something, and in both cases she met her starter purely on chance and had an instant bond with the creature. But of course, she wasn't innocently wandering around with a Mareep this time. This time she was just as dour and calloused as the gruff Zangoose that walked at her side. This time Alexa would have to be serious, for she knew all too well how easily a Pokemon could die in this world, and she wasn't planning on letting any more of her Pokemon become nothing more than gravestones.
She absentmindedly reached up and tugged her red hood down just a little bit. She was so self conscious of the pair of Ninetales-like ears that stuck from the top of her head, even though her hood successfully hid them so long as she kept them down. Nevertheless, she fidgeted with her hood for quite some time.
While Alexa quietly messed with her hood, Zander, the Zangoose, shifted his gaze from left to right, constantly scanning the area for any signs of a possible attacker. He had recently been jumped by a gang of Pokemon and had nearly lost his life because of that. He wasn't planning on getting that close to death ever again. Especially now that he had met Alexa.

[style=height:239px] POKEMON ENCOUNTER
Well, all was normal in route one, except for a few pokemon out and about while the ruckus was probably just common occurrence for them. Even with the how the wind passed by all the trees and suddenly a caterpie fell to the ground with some strange leaves all over it's body. This was followed by what looked like a make-shift stick sword that had strings tying it together around what looked like a small pin of sorts. Basically the wood was the hilt of the sword, and the little pin was the tip that the caterpie could use to hold it in it's mouth just in case. Still, this wasn't the first time someone had been on their journey and had encountered the many pokemon that littered the routes.
Strange as they were, but suddenly the female caterpie picked up the twig-sword and aimed it at the trainer. Avast! Have ye come seeking my treasure? Or perhaps you are here to try solving my riddles. Either way, en garde! the enthusiastic caterpie said as if she were a pirate in this strange route. What a great first encounter already.

Just as Alexa's fingers fell from her hood a small green insect plummeted from a near by tree and crash itno the ground. Alexa blinked a large brown eyes as she stared curiously at the Pokemon. For a moment, it seemed like the Bug type wasn't moving, but it soon hopped to it's feet and picked up what seemed to be a makeshift sword of some sort. Alexa tilted her head then glanced to Zander. Perhaps he could shed some light on what the little bug was so worked up about.
Zander, who was casually standing on all fours at the moment, listened as the pirate-want-to-be ranted on about treasure and riddles. What was this little going on about? Zander turned his crimson gaze up to Alexa. When he saw her giving him an expectant look the only thing he could do was shrug.
Alexa gave an exasperated sigh. Apparently the Caterpie must be some kind of whacko if even Zander seemed baffled by it. What was she supposed to do? Fight it and gain the experience? Or leave the mentally decaying Pokemon to it's life. Alexa thought it over only briefly before she placed hand on her hip and grinned confidently. "Alright, Caterpie. I have no idea what you're saying, but I challenge you to a fight!" She snapped her head down at Zander. "Just in case she didn't understand me, use a Scratch attack to make my point clear."
Zander slowly raised himself onto his hind legs and strutted into the space between Alexa and the pirate. He took a moment to exhale and losen his muscles before he broke out into a full on sprint. He then lunged at the Pokemon with surprising force. In mid jump his massive black claws snapped out and glimmered into the sunlight.

[style=height:239px] POKEMON ENCOUNTER The caterpie wasn't seeing this as an actual immediate threat, but at some point it was going to get pretty ridiculous as the caterpie' body was marred with the scratch. Now she was definitely getting irritated and couldn't help wondering if she would even be able to take down this strange foe that had appeared. Looking over at the zangoose and the trainer, she wasn't going to give up. Oh no, now that they had started this, her quest to defeat them would being. Yes, finally, I can gain experience for beating you and then I'll be able to turn my quest in to my team mates so that we can finally go on a raid some day! the caterpie said enthusiastically as she suddenly realized how useless the leaf clothespin sword was. Suddenly it just snapped in half upon the scratch somehow hitting the caterpie and she was definitely back up on her feet now. Still, that was a rather powerful blow, but she felt like it barely scratched her at the same time. My armor must have protected me, I knew I had a +5 to it for a reason! she said out loud as she patted it on her back with one of her stubby legs. Even though there really was no way to tell since it was covered in so many leaves, but it had been tattered by the zangoose's swipe. So half the armor was remaining and it was defintely not effective as she suddenly charged head first at the zangoose in return. Aiming a powerful tackle at the zangoose's belly just then. Take my tackle of DOOM! It has a 50% chance of a crit hit! Or so my superiors tell me! was all the little caterpie said as she went in for another tackle in an atttempt to make things difficult for the zangoose and the trainer. Now, from Alexa's point of view, this Caterpie was putting on quite the cute display. The little Pokemon kept squeaking and making rather dramatic looking faces, especially after taking the damage from the Scratch attack. SO, it was no surprise that the female trainer let out a little giggle. "You're really riled up, aren't you, Caterpie?" She said in an amused tone.
Zander, however, was not as amused. Unlike Alexa who couldn't understand a word the Caterpie was saying, Zander heard every word. This Caterpie was a total nerd, and not the normal nerd who tries to hide it. No, she was the type that loved to show off her nerdiness. Zander sighed. "You can drop your little pirate act. We both know your silly leaves aren't really armor..." He said in an even tone. However, the Caterpie didn't seem to want to listen right now and instead came charging at him. With a grunt, Zander took the blow straight to his gut. Of course, the Tackle wasn't all that powerful considering it came from a Caterpie, but it was still enough to do damage.
Upon seeing Zander take some damage, Alexa put on a serious face. "Alright, want to play rough then? Zander, Leer and then use Scratch!"
Zander hardly even nodded before he sent a rather demonic looking glare towards the little Bug. He held her gaze for a good few seconds before he suddenly sprang at her, claws spread and ready to demolish the stupid leaves covering the Caterpie.

<Riled up, you say?> the caterpie said in response to the trainer's words. Normally, she'd be talking like a usual caterpie. However, in the LARPing world, she was a warrior. A noble warrior with a noble cause and holy magic to cast upon those who would dare stand in the way of his noble cause. She was a holy paladin of the order and she was going to continue his quest!
Her beliefs were easier LARPed than done, as she was caught off guard by a sudden leer attack. She felt the fear grip her, as she was unable to avoid the sudden scratch attack. She slid back, taking the injury. When she looked down, she started to panic a little, as that actually hurt. <My god! Easy man, we're LARPing here.> She said, completely out of character. She then realized what she said and quickly tried to correct it.
<I-I mean, that attack was quite powerful! But you can't get through my +5 armor! And my holy magic can take your demonic powers down!> With that, she started to chant a few words to herself. <Now! Bind!> And through that, she sent a string shot after the zangoose before using his tackle attack again. Tackle of doom was quite an odd name for paladins, don't you think?
