Susumu and his newly received Vulpix had been spending some bonding time together while out in Route one, finding a nice clearing with a pond where they could sit still and get to know each other. The Pokemorph figured that it was for the best that he got to know his new Vulpix, and he had a childish excitement about the whole thing. A new Pokemon! His! He sighed in contentment as he watched his Vulpix frolic around the area with the full intent on exploring every nook and cranny he could find.
”I was thinking of giving you a nice, Japanese name, but I don’t think you’re worthy of the title.” The Pokemon Trainer scoffed as he watched the Vulpix chase after a small butterfly, his amber colored fur gleaming under the warmth of the morning sun. Since it was so early out, he felt a lot safer to stay out and travel with his new companion. They had already set up camp near the pond, having a fire, tent, and fire pit out. It was the life he had always wanted!
<Yay! Pwitty!> The Vulpix shouted as he pounced on the Butterfly with his two front legs extended towards the bug, but he had missed and clumsily crashed into the tent. The whole structure had collapsed around the Vulpix, struggling to get out as darkness overcame him. Susumu laughed, walking up to the fallen tent and picking the cloth up, allowing the Vulpix to escape. The Vulpix poked his head out of the tent curiously, giggling as he looked up at his new trainer. He liked the Pokemorph, feeling a connection to Susumu as if he was his older brother.
”I might as well call you ‘Maasaki’.” He said sarcastically, but the name had stuck with him. The Vulpix tilted his head in confusion, not understanding a word that came out of his trainer’s mouth, but sensing that there was some hidden joke inside of it. Was he being teased? The Vulpix whimpered at the name, but Susumu had already decided on it, patting the Vulpix on the head as he tossed the fallen tent to the side. He would put it up later.

{I just watched Gladiator. I'll love you forever if you get the reference.}
Queer Giraffes
"You idiot," a human voice sounded nearby. He was a tan, large male. His hair was gray with age, but he was still very muscular. A fearsome old man if there ever was one. "Those Girafarig you sold me. They won't mate. They stand around....and not mate." He cleared his throat and grabbed the scrawny little male infront of him by the collar. "You sold me....queer Girafarig." He dropped the scrawny male in the dirt and stood up straight so that he was a menacing figure. "I'll be taking your prized Ninetails as a refund."
Take it, he did. The horrible old man walked away leaving the scrawny young man with nothing but two gay girafarigs. What was it lately with big men beating up innocent, little males?
"What I am going to do with two Girafarigs? I don't even like Girafarig..." Oh if only someone would come and take one off of his hands...-cough-

[[LOL this scene is vaguely familiar. ]]
"You idiot,"
Susumu’s expression changed from a contented one to a curious one, turning towards the direction of the voice. Maasaki chirped in an attempt to grasp his trainers attention, but it hadn’t worked. Apparently the strange voices were more important to him than he was. Pouting, the Vulpix crawled out of the tent and started to paw at his trainer’s feet, making cute baby sounds that made the fox irresistible. Susumu resisted, trying to shush the Vulpix cub by picking him up, which was a first for both trainer and Pokemon. He stroked the top of the fire type’s head to quiet the thing down, working very well. Maasaki cooed as he enjoyed the attention, nuzzling into Susumu’s chest as he started to approach the voices with a growing curiosity.
"Those Girafarig you sold me. They won't mate. They stand around....and not mate." "You sold me....queer Girafarig."
Susumu started to cover the young Vulpix’s ears, not wanting the Vulpix to be exposed to such an adult topic just yet. Maasaki glanced up at Susumu with a weirded out expression, trying to pry his ears free from the man as a battle of will and force took over. The Vulpix was starting to think of this funny act as a game, and started laughing as he successfully freed his ears from his trainer’s grasp, leaping out of his arms, smacking Susumu in the face with his tail in the process. It had been pretty humorous, especially when Susumu sneezed, suddenly wondering if he was allergic to his own Pokemon.
"What I am going to do with two Girafarigs? I don't even like Girafarig..."
Susumu sighed, not wanting to get involved in the matter at all, but Maasaki had seen the man’s distraught face and immediately ran to see what the problem was. Trotting right up to the man and his Girafarig, he barked a ‘hello’ at the group, tilting his head to the side with concerned, amber eyes. He wanted to know what was wrong, but he wasn’t sure how to communicate it to the man. ”Damn Vulpix. Come’ere you.” Susumu growled as he scooped the Vulpix back into his arms protectively, sending the man a suspicious look. ”Don’t you dare try to scam me into buying one of those Girafarig.” He warned, trying to get away before he was conned into buying something stupid.

The male let out an groan of frustration, his precious Ninetails was gone. The only pokemon he had ever really cared for, and he was unable to say anything, to prevent the big brute from taking her. He stomped his foot against ground, causing a huge dust cloud to engulf him. Coughing he stumbled out of the murky mist and came face to face with a Vulpix.
The scrawny man smiled down at the obviously still young pokemon. "Hey there bud." he said kneeling down towards the pokemon reaching out a hand for the pokemon to sniff when the pokemon was suddendly snatched off the ground.
The man shifted back into standing and dusted his dirtied knees off and glanced up at the male before frowning. "Don't use such language around that little kit." he said, before scoffing at Sasumu's words. "No need to be so rude. I don't even want the Girafarig." he muttered. "I'd be willing to give one of them away for just about anything. Actually for nothing would work for me too." he glanced at the trainer.
"You don't seem like such a good influnce, but this guy can hold his own." he motioning to the Girafarig who was staring at Sasumu with a questioning look on his face. Almost daring him to take him. "Don't suppose you want him?" The pokemon rolled his eyes, before returning to grazing.

Susumu scowled as he felt the man make an instant judgement on him, feeling his words stab through his body like hundreds of tiny spikes. They hurt, yes, but he would have to deal. It was either what little savings he kept on him, or having a good first impression on every person he meant. Personally, he liked having enough money to earn himself three meals a day.
"Hey, it's not like he can understand me. So don't go judging people you don't know." He winced at the man, although he realized that his actions had been a tad harsh. He was only looking out for his Vulpix though, which was his responsibility as a trainer.
"And at least I'm being responsible for my own Pokemon, instead of giving them away to any random person they see on the street." He accused, trying to take the pressure off of him as he stormed off into the distance with his Vulpix in his arms. Maybe now that man would own up tot he responsibility of having a Pokemon. Sure, those Girafarig didn't deserve an owner like him, but he wasn't about to take one!

The scrawny guy gave the trainer a snort, "Pokemon are smarter than you think! And these Giragarig would be better off with another trainer! I doubt they want to spend their entire life cooped up in a pokeball!" he yelled after Susumu's retreating figure.
Whatever. He would find some other trainers. He knew they would love a pokemon as uncommon as these.

::poliwag::
A quite nuseous looking water pokemon stumbled across Susumu's path, his gait was unsteady and halting. The pokemon looked like he was about to tip over any moment. The poliwag took a few more steps, halted, swayed back and forth and hiccuped loudly.
The pokemon chances a look around him and happened to spot the trainer and with a woozy smile turned towards him and promptly tripped over his own tail. Falling to the ground with a audiable thud, he let out a faint groan and uprighted himself. His gaze was now filled with anger as he glared at the trainer. <How dare you trip me fool!> he yelled, before interrupting his next words with a hiccup.
<Perhaps I shouldn't have drunk from that trainer's canteen.> he mumbled to himself, before tottering towards the trainer. <I-I-I challenge you to a... battle!> he stammered, his tounge was growning numb. Was that normal? He wondered. The Poliwag attempted a weak Water-Gun towards the trainer.
A Wild Poliwag is attacking!
