Val clicked the phone shut in his hands, letting out a deep growl that echoed from his throat. The manager of his apartment drove him deeply up a wall, Val didn't have to be in front of the manager but he could smell the rotten breath that would always leak from the man's mouth. And the manager had just thrown a fit over the phone, on how Val had to just leave. Val had to reexplain to the man that he would still pay the bills but it didn't matter.
The bus Val sat on, bounced up and down on the road. He wore a hood over his ears and had it pulled down to cover his tail, but he still felt like people stared at him. His crisp amber eyes flashed back and forth before they finally rested at the window.
Once the bus slowed down, Val stood up and forced his way passed everyone else who wanted off. He wanted to hurry and be on his way. Val's ears itched form the fabric but he speed walked his way quickly to eye a small wooden sign. Directions.
Two things where labeled on this sign, 'Pokemon Lab' and 'Ranger Station' both clearly signs pointing to get your first Pokémon. A girl walked up next to him, smiling at him well she looked at which way to go and headed for the Pokémon Lab. Grunting, Val turned toward the Ranger Station.
He strolled slowly, slouching. He saw some people leave the place he was heading, holding Pokeballs or cooing words to their Pokémon who cooed back. Val's ears twitched under the hood, trying to understand the words the Pokémon spoke. Nothing.
Finally his amber eyes lifted up to look at a large tent. His tail flicked under his sweatshirt, poking out but he didn't feel like hiding it again. He didn't want to.
He poked his head into the tent, "Hello.." His voice cracked slightly as he spoke and he cleared his throat.

Inside the tent were two males and one pokemon at one of the many tables inside. The males sat opposite of each other but didn't seem to be talking to each other. The pokemon, a pink cat pokemon, seemed to be sleeping in the middle of the two on the table top.
At the sound of the person's voice both rangers looked up. A male. The first male grinned at the second before quickly masking it with an obviously fake voice the just cried liar. "Hey Dexter, could you get this one? I'm just soooo tired from the last trainer I had to help and all."
The second male had saw this coming, groaned and stood from the table, heading to the entrance of the tent. Holding out a hand he spoke, "The name is Dexter. I'll be your ranger for today. This park has over 9000 pokemon. I'm sure one of them will become a great partner for you." Over 9000? Well isn't that just his original meme entrance.

Val reached out his gloved hand to greet the Ranger, "My name is Val," He gripped the mans hand and gave it a firm shake, trying to look more excited then he really was. Then he released and wiped it awkwardly on his jeans. It was a habit of his to do so, though it may of looked like it, it had nothing to do with a fear of germs.
"You think," His voice cracked a little, "That you could try to get me, uh, uh, uh, a Poochyena if you can? But anything will do really." He mentally crossed his fingers, if he got one he would be able to understand what it said, but he could always life without it. Crossing his arms across his chest, moved is amber-red eyes moved around the rest of the tent and back at the Ranger in front of him.
He was going to give more options but really, his mind could think of nothing else he would really want to get. Val tapped his foot, sending a few clouds of dust shooting out of his shoes and his short tail swished back and forth behind him.

Dexter took back his hand and with sharp eyes, though they didn't have to be sharp to see it, saw the male before him wipe his hand on his pants. A frown set on his face in both confusion and partial anger. What was that for? Did he looked diseased?
Shrugging it off, he turned and motioned for the male to follow, listening to his hope for a Poochyena. It was only then that the ranger noticed the tail behind the boy, a pokemorph? Those weren't common, oh well, a newbie is a newbie. "I'll see what Charlie and I can do for you." To shed light on the situation, he tossed a pokeball into the air to reveal a Porygon.
A simple nod sent the pokemon into the woods for the young man's new partner. "Well, while we wait want to dance the Caramelldansen with me?" It was a simple question as he pulled an ipod out of his pocket. So far though, none of the trainers he had had knew what the dance was. Sheltered children.

He watched the Ranger's strange Pokemon vanish into the distance to get him, his first Pokemon. Exciting but he wished the man would of gone too.
"The Caramelldansen Dance?" He chuckled, remembering how the dance worked, "No, no. I'm not one to dance in public, man." This was a lie, sort of, Val would dance in a bar, but any place else without a huge crowd of dancing fools, no. He shook his head at the thought.

Dexter had to frown at that. Another no go, how sad. Stuffing the ipod back into his pocket he shuffled his feet for a moment as he waited for Charlie to return. He wasn't very good at small talk, Ranger Jordan had told him that it his "extensive knowledge on popular internet culture" was too much to handle sometimes. That sometimes it was best to just say nothing. They wouldn't have to wait very long before Charlie returned however, dragging a body behind it, though it seemed to be struggling with it's lack of hands and mouth. As the duo got closer the shape of the unknown pokemon could be determined. A Starly. How lovely. Though not a Poochyena. Ranger Dexter smiled, handing a pokeball to Val. "Congrats on your first pokemon. I'll get you your starter pack when we get back to the tent. Maverick there's a bomb in the base and all your base belong to us." The last part he whispered under his breath but it wasn't very subtle.

Val looked rather surprised at the bird that was dragged back with the Ranger's Pokemon, he really thought he would just be given it. His eyes rested on the Pokeball the Ranger handed him. Val looked over the glossy paint on the ball and back to the bird, rather disappointed for a moment. But a Pokemon was a Pokemon.
He clicked the small button on the center of the ball, tossing the ball at the bird. Thats why the Ranger gave it to him right? His amber eyes flicked back and forth, as it drifted closer to to the bird and engulfed it in a ray of light.
Val's ears flattened on his head, making his hood shift strangely as he watched the ball drop to the ground and wiggle.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. It was strange.

Dexter watched as the male before him tossed the pokeball and the Starly was sucked up into it. The flying type didn't fight back much at all. It wiggled once, maybe twice, and then gave a soft, almost inaudible 'pinging' sound. A successful capture.
::starly:: Level: 5 Attacks: Tackle, Growl, Quick Attack
Ranger Dexter picked up the ball and handed it to Val before waving for him to follow him back to the tent, but not before returning Charlie of course.

Val took the Pokeball in his hands, looking it over like it might look any diffrent with the little bird inside it. Nope it looked the same. He stuffed it in his pockets well he started off after the Ranger to head back to the tent.
The hood around his head and ears itched, so he finally pulled the hood down. Flicking the cool grey ears which in turn shook the black tuffed that poured from them.

Dexter smiled as he noticed Val following him. Good, he understood his motion for the lad to follow. Much more intelligent then the last trainer he had helped who thought he was asking for a high five. The moron. Upon entering the tent the first thing he noticed was the lack of Ranger Coby. He let out a irritated sigh. The only reason Coby would leave the tent was if a female was there for a pokemon. He could only guess that was were the man had gone off too. Especially since his Skitty was missing too. Turning to a pile of boxes, Dexter pulled out a small bag and held it out for Val to take once more. "Here is one starter pack for you to venture out with. Enjoy and have a safe and fun journey. Watch out for pirates, I mean TD. I hear they've been making a come back. You shouldn't have to worry though." He grinned though on the inside he was pretty worried for the new trainers. You receive: x 5 x 3 x1

Val grabbed the bag the Ranger offered him, opening it to look at everything in it. Then looked up at the Ranger, "Thanks," He pulled out the Pokedex, moving it around in his hands, then he returned it back to the bag and turned around to leave.
"Bye dude," Val lifted his hand up in a backwards wave as he headed for the front of the tent. He sighed as he stepped into the open letting out a small sigh, pulling the Pokeball out of his pocket he clicked the small button and tossed it into the air.
"Staaarly!" The bird cawed as the red light dissolved into the bird, its head turned up to Val, "Star star?"
"I have no, clue what your saying.. But welcome to my team." He grinned, walking past the bird and listening to its wings flap as it took into the air to follow.
