Name: Susumu Yuuto Akiyama
Definition: Progressing, Superior, Autumn Mountain
Nickname: His English speaking friends call him ‘Shamu’ because of a simple misinterpretation.
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Birthdate: October 23rd, 1993
Appearance:
Susumu has always looked pretty average, even by Pokemorph standards; his features are well hidden and nearly unrecognizable. He isn’t the typical Pikachu Pokemorph with cute ears, some fur, and a tail. In fact, he only has his eyes and hair changed naturally to an odd bright yellow. His eyes are a more somber yellow, gold-orange even. The hair on his head as a funky black streak diving right down the middle if evenly parted, but he likes to keep his hair messy and tussled about. Another fun fact about the hair on his body, even his arm hair, armpit hair, and pubic hair are a bright yellow. It’s a little embarrassing for him, and he’s always shaving his arms so no one can see the yellow hair. It’s not able to be considered fur, since the colors of every normal hair on his body are just yellow, and that’s that.
He’s got a pretty average height as well, around 5’3 right now, and still growing. When you look at Susumu, he appears like he could either be older or younger than he really is; trust him, he’s gotten both reactions before. He doesn’t look like his actual age, no matter what.
On nice cool days, he might be out wearing short sleeves in any punkish T-Shirt he can find. He does care about his looks, always wanting to look like the tough guys seen on TV. He has a ton of different outfits that he cleverly stores in his PC, changing his outfit whenever he’s in any Pokémon Center. Lately, he’s had a thing for skulls and bones with metal chains used as a belt. He basically looks like a punk. Oh, and he’s Japanese, if you couldn’t tell by the name.
Personality:
Susumu is a Scorpio, which shows a lot about his personality. According to his horoscope, it says that Scorpio’s tend to have a complex, analytical, patient, focused and determined personality. He’s a pretty self-contained character, not liking to reveal most of his true personality to the world while showing subtle signs of the things he truly likes and desires. If he sees a wrestling move used in public, his eyes will spark with a great fury to them as his pulse races, visibly showing signs of excitement. He hates to admit that he likes anything though, fearing what other people will say once they know about it. He tends to think things over a bit too much, and can become paranoid and compulsive over the small details. He can get incredibly defensive when people come his way, and if they even suggest a single flaw about him, he will protect his flaw at all costs.
Susumu is friendly though, and even though most of the people in Cheyenne look different from him, he will strike up a conversation with them, appearing to be the average-joe. He doesn’t look like he could be a warm person, but his smile towards people can be disarming at times. His fake smile, that is. He’s faked smiles for so long; he can’t even help it any more. He’s very secretive about himself, as previously said. And when he looks at other people and see’s how great they are, he can’t help but get jealous. There will even be the rare moment when he gets so full of rage; he’ll do something he knows he will regret to a person. It happened before, and is completely aware that it could happen again.
Susumu also has a huge secret that he hides inside of himself. Basically, he’s a closet gay. He looks at men at interest while turning away shyly, not fully understanding his own feelings. He acts like he’s interested in women, but can’t be called bi-sexual, since he holds no true interest in them. He’ll have closed debates within himself whether he’s truly interested in a love interest at all, completely ignorant to the fact that he’s gay. He’s actually in denial of it, worried about what other people would think if they knew the truth.
History:
Susumu has had a short history that doesn’t seem like a long one at all, because to him, his life is just starting. He’s had a happy childhood for the most part, dealing with kids in school, dealing with troublesome girls and their crushes, playing soccer with the boys. He wasn’t the best of students, in fact, he had the worst grades in the class, yet somehow he managed to keep on passing class after class. His parents were extremely conservative and highly religious, keeping a careful eye on him and regulating everything he did. Whenever he failed a test, they were pissed as hell at the boy, screaming at him that he would never be a doctor or a lawyer, like they wanted. It was always their wants, not his. He sensed that there was a hint of tough love hidden in their words, but it stung him deeply as he sulked in his room.
Seamus watched as he progressed into middle school, and then into high school as many of his classmates dropped out to become Pokémon Trainers. One of his closest friends had done the same thing, but had talked with him the night before, mysteriously disappearing towards the Cheyenne Region after having their fateful conversation. His friend excitedly told him of the great adventures one could have as a Pokémon Trainer, and if you kept at it, you would get rewarded with lots of money.
To a 16 year old boy, that seemed like a dream come true. Before he even graduated from Restview High School in Fall City, all of the way back in the Fiore Region. Motivated for a new life the night after his friend disappeared, he left a note for his parents, his belongings packed tightly in a suitcase. He was headed to the Cheyenne Region, just like his friend to pursue his dream of being the greatest Pokémon Trainer. He departed, taking the train and arriving at the Pokémon Center, treating it like a hotel as he left his things inside of a private room. He would be back for most of them, but first he needed his first Pokémon!
However, on his way to Cheyenne something happened. He wasn't sure how it happened, but he was knocked out cold. Next thing he knew, he woke up in the middle of an ally all of the way in Electric City, now a Pokemorph. He doesn't understand how, or why, but it happened, and now he looked as odd as a golden spork.
