Yaaaaaaawnnnnnnnn. It was going to be a long day; that was as sure a thing as water being more refreshing when chilled; or peanut butter was a good and healthy snack. Warren had napped on the ship into Verona, and he and Scuttlebutt had napped a bit more in between soda and peanut butter and cheese crackers. The Weedle had devoured the treats like they were some kind of rare candies, and had tried to use one of those larva pup eye tricks to get his trainer to share his soda with him, but the blue eyed Texan simply shook his head at the hairy bug Pokémon.
“You're a weirdo, but stupid too! Why would I share this soda with you?” the bug Pokémon simply looked at him with its best attempt at a distraught expression, without any idea what to say- and then decided it'd just curl up in his lap and try to purr. “Wee-eeee-eee-eee-eee-ddllllleee, Weee-eeee-eeee-eeee-dddleee.”
The young man simply shoved another peanut-butter and cheese cracker in front of his pokemon's mouth. “Shhsssh.” Taking another sip of his soda; and then stood up; grabbing his simple red and white pokeball, [decorated with an orange weedle sticker, how cool!] and then beckoned his small companion back into it's pokeball. The pokeball was quickly pocketed, and then the young man began to gather up his backpack and goodies from the bench, and head towards the water-taxi which guaranteed to bring him to the local lab; where he could register as a trainer in the region, and begin his adventure.
It was a long, boring ride, and he almost regretted putting scuttlebutt back in his pokeball, but hearing and seeing the hairy bug larva Pokémon squirm at the sight of water all around- it wasn't worth the trouble. It was midday by the time they finally landed, and there was a weird mixture of slightly heavy winds, and bright sun caused warmness. It made him shiver in his jacket a bit, as he walked up the hill that the signs advertised would lead to the laboratory. Maybe this place wasn't such a good idea after all? What kind of self-respecting region can't get its electricty to work? At the sign that pointed to the Pokémon rangers and to the lab, he simply blinked, a bit confused.
Long, sleepy day; not even sure what to do.
