Silently stepping. Givanke's foosteps amidst the bustling streets was a stark contrast, and soon he had arrived. His mind was clear as day and there was no need for hesitation - He knew what he had come for. Francois was at it feet, bustling along stubbornly as he glared at the people rushing by, baring his fangs a little. Givanke lightly nudged the creature, and he let out a soft grumble before he padded softly along beside his trainer. They had entered an alleyway area, and the noise of the crowd became significantly softer. Much better. He grabbed a Pokeball from his belt and released it, knowing the Pokemon would like to get out of those terrible confines.
A loud cry was heard and the Skarmory appeared, fanning out his wings majestically. He had long been kept in that Pokeball and his bones ached, and finally he was being relieved. The Pokemon stowed his metallic wings away and clicked his beak noisily at Givanke, who was pursing his lips and looking at the Pokemon. Not exactly the strongest, but something he could definitely work with. The male ran a calloused finger along the Pokemon's head, and the Skarmory crooned in delight, closing his eyes as he fondled into the boy's touch. Delightful. A small mutter, and it was clear a name had been decided, "Esodo."
He stopped caressing the creature and turned away, beckoning for him to follow as they searched the next street, which was significantly quieter, for a potential battle.
The street was indeed quiet - only because it was infested with insect Pokémon and mutts who loved to live in alleyways, living off of human scraps. Streaks of fur and dried up puddles of what used to be Pokémon blood were testaments to the harsh battles street Pokémon had over territory, and rarely any of them left such encounters unscathed.
As a result, it was hard for mother Pokémon to raise families, since other Pokémon constantly raised disputes over the territory which they had once claimed for themselves. This was precisely what was happening when Givanke and Esodo began to walk down the lonely street.
In a corner with some boxes, a mother zigzagoon and her pups were growling at an intruder who had dared to challenge them for their territory - a fierce-looking snubbull that seemed stronger than all of them combined. His features turned into a smirk as he voiced his opinion. <Listen, lady, I've got a family too... it includes me, myself, and I. And I haven't got time for you, so beat it.>
<Or else what?> Challenged the mother 'goon, baring her teeth in a threat. The snubbull laughed and aimed a bloodthirsty glare at her pups. <Or else, I'll rip you all to shreds!> Growling, he charged at her pups with his teeth bared and glowing hot - a Fire Fang attack. The mother zigzagoon yowled and came at the snubbull from the side, her head bent in a headbutt attack.
Snubbull used Fire Fang.
Zigzagoon used headbutt.
[Interfere with the battle?]

The squabbling between the two Pokemon resonated through the dirty alleyways, and naturally, Givanke heard them, as did Esodo. The bird cawed noisily and then glared, trying to pinpoint where the sound was coming from. It became clear that the sound was coming from the alleyway, and Givanke followed it, the steel bird's talons scraping the ground with a terrible grating sound. The battle was evidently set before the trainer's eyes, and to this he only grumbled. What an awful distraction. He looked at Esodo, who looked pretty irritable himself, and Givanke deemed it only right to bring an end to their squabbling.
He stepped in most indignantly, Esodo creating a terrible grating sound as he scratched his talons across the concrete ground, causing Givanke himself to cringe upon hearing the sound. The Skarmory appeared annoyed, and so did the boy, "Geez, what unnecessary squabbling. So, cut it out or do you want to me to settle this?" To emphasise his point, Esodo cawed loudly and spread his wings, metallic blade like appendages glinting in the several lights coming from the main street.
Upon hearing the terrible sound generated by the bird's metallic talons, the fighting came to a pause. The mother zigzagoon, having not done much damage to the Snubbull, shrank backwards and nursed the burn caused by the Fire Fang. She and her pups knew this was a chance for rescue and stared almost pleadingly at the fierce-looking Skarmory and his trainer.
Seeing a challenge, the bad-tempered pink pup smirked at the Skarmory's wingspread threat. <So, you want to mess with me? I didn't want to injure more than 3 things today, but seeing as you're so kindly offering...> His bared fangs burned red as he began to dart straight at the metallic Esodo.

Givanke laughed a little at the Pokemon rashness, "Think before you leap much?" The Skarmory disappeared in a bright flash of light, and in his place was Lia, the small Ralts. She daintily looked at the Snubbull, as if she might break, wandering closer and closer to the Snubbull as if she was a little possessed voodoo doll. Givanke looked at her and how little a threat she looked, it was sort of worrisome. Still, he had barely spent time with the little Psychic type, and he was not one to make a decision just yet. The moment the Fire Fang was unleashed he had known that Esodo would not stand a chance, no matter how much stronger he was. Lia, however, stood some kind of chance against the pink-snout pitbull before them.
The small fragile looking Pokemon paused to gaze at the Snubbull, when her breathing began ragged and almost jerky. She did appear to be possessed, or something of the like, before she let loose a large Confusion attack at her foe, having no intention to let herself fall prey to the weaker foe.
Snubbull jerked to a halt upon seeing the huge bird flash out of sight. As he watched, a small red, green and white pokemon appeared and - in what seemed like something out of a horror movie - jerked slowly towards him. It was almost as if this creature was other-worldly. The prideful pink mutt been ready to laugh about such a petite opponent challenging him, but now he had second thoughts.
Suddenly, the strange creature stopped, and immediately the Snubbull felt his heart lurch with anxiety. He knew that he should be focused on battling this thing, but he was too stunned to move. As the Ralts began to breathe unevenly, the pitbull tried to focus his mind onto happy things. Suddenly, however, he felt a presence envelope his thoughts and transform them into his worst nightmares. His very sanity began to become distorted, leading him to become confused, and he howled in pain as the effects of his mind's contamination damaged his body.
Frothing at the mouth, he attempteed to overpower his confused state enough to attack the enemy that had done this to him - and succeeded. His thoughts still spun out of control, but he forced his body forward at the psychic pokemon, his foamy jaws parted and coursing with electricity.
::snubbull:: Snubbull is now confused; Snubbull used Thunder Fang!

As the Snubbull's confused state only made it look more like a pooch with rabies, Givanke stepped back, obviously a tad disgusted by the behaviour of the crazy mutt. As it used its Thunder Fang, one of the copies were torn down just like, and the rest flickered at the Snubbull, the real one hidden amongst the rest of the copies. The Ralts was pretty much in the same state as the Snubbull, as if she were possessed. She tottered from side to side, raising a hand and quietly murmuring to herself as she cast her Confusion attack. Though they were invisible, Givanke felt the pulsing sensation of psychic waves traveling in the air straight at the pink coloured mutt, who Lia and the rest of the copies began to circle, serving to confuse her more.
Snubbull was filled with shock as he crashed straight through what he thought was his real opponent. As he turned, he saw several more of the Ralts, circling around. This only served to heighten his confusion, and he rolled on the ground in pain as his mind continued to malfunction. He tried to get his mind under control again, but this time he was unable. Ferociously, he clawed at his head, trying to get this thing out of his mind.
The confusion attack came straight at him, bringing with it burning agony. The dog couldn't help but yowl as his consciousness continued to be tortured. In the corner where they hid, the mother zigzagoon and her pups stared with horror as the dog that had been so cruel to them was being reduced to a psychotic, rabid mutt.
::snubbull:: Snubbull is confused; Snubbull hurt himself. No attack used.

Lia was most certainly bemused by the Pokemon, a soft and faint giggle escaping her mouth. Through the green cap she donned, her crimson eyes were barely visible, but if one had to describe them, it often did not bode well. Crimson orbs, devoid of emotion, yet sickly childlike seemed like a nightmare - Lia was one. She murmured quietly to herself, not at all phased by the Snubbull's senseless tottering. Weakling, she told herself, unable to control himself like a proper Pokemon could. Tutting in a cold and heartless manner, the Ralts advanced forwards, laughing, as if coldly mocking the Pokemon's current predicament.
She took great delight in watching people suffer like that. In her amused state, Givanke cleared his throat and snapped his fingers repetitively, as if to get her attention. She paid attention, of course, and swiftly, like a little child who would listen to her mama or papa, she returned to proper business, raising her arms dully and then casting what appeared to be yet another Confusion attack, this one no less weaker than the previous one. The Snubbull would barely stand after this - Perhaps grovelling at her feet.

Due to his constant tumbling about the field, the Snubbull was becoming an increasingly unpredictable target to hit. Wobbling right out of the way of the last Confusion attack, the pink pug remained oblivious to the danger it had just averted. In his confused state, he tripped over a crumpled up soda can, falling face first into the ground.
Ouch, that had...really hurt. His eyes seemed to return to their normal state, as if the pain from the confusion was starting to settle down. Well, that was a relief, but he was completely vulnerable during these few moments. Using some of his strength to get himself off of the ground, he nearly tripped back onto the ground. Cursing outloud, the Snubbull realized just how injured he really was. Underestimating this Ralts was a very, very bad mistake.

As the pink bulldog like creature stumbled out of the way of the attack, Lia felt herself tense up in disappointment, as if disheartened over the fact that her attack had missed. Though her expression was unreadable, for some reason Givanke could tell she was not in the best of moods after her miss. It intensified, however, as the Ralts' meagre disappointment gradually evolved into that of a scowl, and then a snarl. To say that Lia had not been pleased with this development was an understatement. While her rather dilated crimson orbs were devoid of any sign of annoyance, by the Pokemon's trembling body, it was not anything hard to tell.
Givanke watched the series of events unfold seamlessly and while half bemused, he shrugged the feeling off as he narrowed his eyes upon the Ralts. While it wasn't a wise idea to leave her to do her own thing, he worried of the end result if he were to order her around. Taking the risk, he cleared his throat and then uttered, "Lia, Double Team and Confusion." His priority right now was just to eliminate the Snubbull. He had honestly wanted to catch it as first, but on second thought he had shook his head and decided against it, and rather used it as a tool of training. Lia raised her arms in a half dazed trance, several copies flickering around the Snubbull, serving to confuse it even more.
With a high pitched shriek, Lia let loose a Confusion attack, this time seething, her entire body shaking as she cast forth the psychic attack without much hesitation.

Sensing the sudden change in the air around him, the Snubbull slowly got up on his feet with a hint of hesitation. His ears perked up, completely alert to show his wary state of mind, and he quickly looked around at each of the Ralts clones. There was a creepy atmosphere about them, as if he had done something specifically to anger her. He bit the corner of his lip to try and hold his tongue, but it was becoming increasingly difficult to just not scream out his frustrations.
<You...you...> He hissed as he watched them all, trying to put him back into that rabid state of confusion. He held his paws up defensively, not sure where the next attack would come from. They all started to move at once, simultaneously as they unleashed their confusion assault.
The Snubbull cried out as he tried to figure out which was the real attack, and hid his head behind his paws in a feeble attempt to reduce the damage. It had only succeeded in pushing him backwards into a close by wall, forcing him to cough the air out of him as he slowly slid down to the ground. Weakened and injured, he wearily gazed up at his psychic opponent before fainting on the spot.
::snubbull:: Has Been Defeated. Lia gains a level.
Lia was trembling even as she gained a level, and Givanke hastily returned her, although he had a gut feeling that the Pokemon's mood swings would not be contained by a mere red and white capsule. His fingers curled tightly around the sphere as he struggled to keep it closed, to keep it sealed. Lia was becoming powerful - He had long realised, but he could not help it - The Pokémon was just growing and all. Calmly, Givanke tousled his slightly unkempt hair - The wind had done a nice job of messing it up for him. He frowned, and then put his hands into his pockets, shedding his jacket in the midday heat. He muttered to himself, too lazy to pull his sleeves up to his elbows, so at his wrists they stayed, pristinely white.
Givanke's gaze fell on the Snubbull, but yet there was no compassion. The way it had harmed Pokémon - Normal types, for that very matter - Made it unforgivable in Givanke's books. He folded his arms, jacket tightly in them before he nudged the Pokémon with a dead twig on the ground. Seeing that it was still, fainted, he then nodded to himself. His eyes swivelled to the small family of Zigzagoon. He nodded shortly to them, sharing a short smile before he had gone along on his way. This time, Givanke had chosen to let Francois out, the reserved and nonchalant Electrike trotting along beside him. He knew he was way overdue for a Gym Battle, but...
Givanke never refused the chance to have a little bit more time to explore. This he did, poking his head around the numerous winding alleys in hope of finding something of interest.
The mother Zigzagoon had been awestruck by the display she'd just seen, yet grateful that the strangers had protected her and her children from the wrathful Snubbull. Bowing her thanks to Givanke, she led her pups elsewhere to avoid an attack in case the pink bulldog woke.
These were the gems discovered by none other than a Gulpin, a green, plump thing that was rooting around in a dumpster in the next alley. His mouth stretched wider than his body, engulfing several food items at a time. Scraps of food, plastic, iron, and sauces were all consumed without care by the monster, who expelled foul gases as he digested his meal. Every time he unleashed gas, there was more room in his stomach for more. And so he continued to eat, body becoming fatter by the minute.
He cared not if the stench or sight of him eating trash would offend anyone. No one would see him eating anyway, the alleyways usually empty this time of day...

As they turned about the corner, Givanke could not help but to examine the small businesses around the corner. While he preferred not to admit it, Givanke was never one for the hustle and bustle. Just like how Petalburg had been a quaint and quiet town, Givanke did appreciate the technology, but not the jazzy lights and screeching car tires. The alleyways were significantly much less noisy than the main streets, and Givanke was thankful to get away from it. As the pounding sounds of nightclubs were blaring, Givanke massaged his temples lightly, the onset of a migraine taunting him.
He had not gotten very far when the foul stench invaded his nostrils. Upon catching whiff of it, Givanke shielded his eyes, letting out Lia once again. Not the wisest of decisions, but definitely, it was much more logical. Judging by what he could smell, the pungent scent was probably coming from trash of some sort. Possibly a Grimer or Koffing running amok. Eyes narrowed in annoyance, Givanke trudged through the city's alleys, determined to find where the source came from. Lia waddled along behind, her eyes hidden from view, but it was clear she was trying to focus on finding it, as keen as Givanke was to get rid of it this instant.
It was made clear to Givanke that the Pokemon at fault was a Gulpin. Staring at the repulsive creature in awkward silence, he nudged Lia gently, who appeared to understand his intentions. She silently gazed at the Gulpin, as if devoid of emotion, before Lia suddenly snapped and released a devastating Confusion to the face. That would hurt.
Not even noticing the sound of approaching footsteps, the Gulpin licked some of the drool that was hanging off of his lips. The moldy cupcake that was right below him was looking so beautiful with the frosting half on the ground, half covering the cupcake with rainbow sprinkles decorating his meal.
The drool reappeared on his lips once more as he started to gulp up the rest of his meal, but a sharp Confusion attack sent him tumbling backwards. Rolling right over his cupcake, effectively smashing it and covering himself in a creamy white delight, he growled at whoever had done that to him.
A weird green midget? He glared at Lia, ready to give her a stern beating in order to give her the proper discipline. There was no way that he was going to not fight back! That cupcake had to be avenged! Opening his giant mouth up super wide, he let out an enormous Yawn at his opponent. Just by watching the move could make any Pokemon drowsy upon seeing it, then effectively putting them to sleep.
