Akira looked around nervously as she slowly walked up the path, keeping an eye out for any trouble. She knew about the region wide power problems, but she had been determined to not let it stop her starting her new journey, for she knew that if she put it off now, she would always come up with some excuse not to break away from the relative safety of her home into the unknown dangers of the region.
The young pokémorphs mind was filled with questions and thoughts about the pokémon she would be getting. Personally the idea of being able to choose her pokémon appealed more to her, but unless she delayed her journey, this was currently the only place to get a pokémon, and she’d already decided she wasn’t going to do that.
Approaching the tents she stopped, looking around again. Her tail had managed to work its way out of her jeans, and was flicking behind her, unnoticed by the young pokémorph, as she waited, unsure what next move to make.

::rangerm:: ::Exploud:: Oh, it came quick! A regular lightning strike! Fast; like an explosion of rain drumming against a tin building met with the thundering booms of lightning and its brother lightning! A heavy metal hurricane, that was over just as quick as it began, a Pokemon Ranger with disturbingly bright cotton candy color dreadlocks rocketing out in a roll from the tent, and stumbling up to his feet. “THAT ALL YOU GOT YOU OVER GLORIFIED AMP! HUH Morrison?!?” The ranger pushed himself up from the ground, brushing off his clothes with all the dignity of a king, and giving a nod to the little lady whom was now at his left. “C'mon out here you worthless Exploud!” And the Purple Pokemon did charge out, moving to tackle his partner, and deftly dodged by a 90 degree forward lunge-jump, which sent the ranger directly into the roof of the tent, and skidding down. He called to whoever might be in there, “Sorry, sorry sorry!” and then he rolled to the ground in front of Akira, giving a nod. “I'm Johnny, and this is Morrison.” He grinned stupidly, and gave the girl a full bow, complete with flourish. “How can me and my not so humble buddy here help ya, missie?”

((Sorry. Bad internet + Snow have been causing problems))
Akira took a startled step back as someone suddenly appeared out of the tent, her tail still flicking anxiously behind her. The was another step back as the ranger, at least she guessed he was a ranger, yelled out something she didn't quite understand. She was beginning to doubt this was the right place as a pokemon also hurtled out of the tent, prompting some unusual moves from the human, which ended with him standing and bowing in front of the young pokemorph.
"Ah..." She started nervously, still shocked at the suddeness of the pairs arrival. "...my..my names Akira. I was told I could get a pokemon here" She tried to regain the little confidence she had had before the pairs arrival, trying not to see too nervous. She was afterall excited about the journey she was going to start, it was more the idea of talking to someone that had her stuttering.

He grinned again, taking her by the hand and leading her outside the tent. "Mmm, darling your skin is so soft~" he sang, winking at her. Behind him, his exploud made a huffing sound and rolled his eyes, chasing after the pair.
"You do know how this works, don't you? I give you a hand full of ball and you do with that what you please," his attempt at a pickup line failed miserably, and accompanied by his stupid grin he was the portrait of a creeper. He handed her a pokeball. "Throw it when you see a wild Pokémon. Whoa, what's that?"
The grass swayed and parted like the red sea, a giant bushy tail peeking out from atop the blades. "Throw it now!"

As the ranger took her hand the houndoom morph flinched, but then allowed herself to be led towards some of the grass. As he spoke she looked around nervously, wondering if it really was her he was talking to with those creepy words.
As he handed her a pokeball she took the opportunity to break her hand free, taking a couple of steps away from him, at the same time giving him a weird and somewhat scared look. She had never been used to dealing with people, eve with those she could understand and didn't speak...creepy.
Her attention was diverted from the ranger as he pointed to something in the grass. Her eyes were drawn to the movement, and her heart began to race as the tail of a pokemon appeared. She glanced down at the pokeball. All she had to do was throw it right? That's what the ranger had said. Of course she pretended to catch pokemon at home, but this was the real thing. If it worked she would have a pokemon of her own.
Nodding to herself she gripped the ball, before throwing at the pokemon, her eyes following it as it arced towards the pokemon, hoping it worked,

Pachirisu looked around as she heard the Trainers talking and scampered out curiously, only to be clonked on the head by this ball. Before she could retaliate with a quick Iron Tail to the Trainer's face, her vision became red and she was sucked inside. The ball shook for a few moments, but it was futile. Pachirisu had been captured, and now had to adapt to life as a tame Pokemon.
Johnny was a little creeped out by the Trainer's dislike of getting close, but he handed her the Pokeball nonetheless. "Congrats," he smiled.

Akira flinched slightly as the pokemon, revealed now to be a white squirrel with a blue stripe running down its back, was hit on the head with the ball. The Pokémon appeared to be about to retaliate, when the ball opened and drew in the angry squirrel.
Akira held her breath as she watched the ball, at the same time reminding herself about the Pokémon she was attempting to capture. Pachirisu, she was sure it's name was. An electric type. As the ball finally stopped shaking she smiled to herself. She'd done it. She'd got her first Pokémon.
As the ball was returned to her by the trainers her smile became nervouse again, but he made no other strange comments, just congratualated her. "Ah, thanks" She smiled back at him as she took the ball, and just looked at it for a few seconds, thinking about the Pokémon now held inside. "Thank you" She repeated again, a smile spreading on her face as she turned to go, at the same time bringing the ball up to her lips.
"Hekili" It meant thunder, along with rage and thunder, and from what she'd seen it fitted the little squirrel Pokémon. Smiling to herself, her tail still flicking behind her unoticed, she began to walk off to route one, and a new beginning.
