Determined to have the Ekans on her team even if it meant taking out the Whismur, Autumn nodded at her Zubat. "Alright, Ace, help him out!" And the bat, thankful at being ordered to attack this time, rather than to simply standby and listen to Autumn console some type of Pokemon or another, swooped forward in response, cackling slightly. He was obviously more than a little sadistic. <"Damn straight you will,> the Zubat hissed at his opponent. If he'd possessed eyes, they would have glinted coldly, but the effect was there regardless.
Not really needing Autumn to school him in his own attacks, the bat winced at the sound of the Uproar, but did not hesitate to attempt latching onto the side of the pig, draining it's energy. Not only would it help him to heal a little from the battle with Vent, but it would help the stupid pig go down a lot quicker. And since the Ekans seemed a hell of a lot cooler a teammate than Caterpie, he was totally determined to take the pig down. Then the purple snake would be fed, Autumn would be happy, he'd get some experience, and they could continue onward. It was perfect.

::ekans:: ::whismur:: Pokemon battle ! Ekans, though he didn't show it outwardly, was pleased with the Zubat's sadistic nature. They'd be chums He was a tough bat for sure, and would grow up to be a good partner... if they managed to subdue this pig, that is.
By the pig's actions it was obvious that they would easily take it down. Not only was the Whismur already quite wounded by her affair with the Shinx, but she was also quite low level. She had no one to protect her in the hostile route. Ekans cared little for the little piglet's circumstances, only wished to satisfy his craving for pokemon flesh. Being by far more powerful than she, Ekans was able to keep his grip on the screeching pig even as Zubat's sharp fangs provoked her to wriggle even more madly. He could feel her strength reducing steadily from lack of air.
Ekans hit by Uproar. Ekans used Wrap on Whismur. Whismur hit by Wrap and Leech Life. Whismur used Uproar.

The pig seemed rather weak, which was undoubtedly a good thing. Was it wrong of Autumn to mentally cheer on her Pokemon and the wild Ekans, hoping the Whismur shut up and died quickly? It was likely very wrong, but she had corrupted morals. She was a good person, and would never lie, cheat, or steal from someone, but... coveted Pokemon sort of warped her niceties. In short, if you had something Autumn wanted, she was a little gullible. You could probably con her into doing something stupid if you promised something good in return.
Ace seemed to have the battle under control with the help of the Ekans, and so she offered no verbal help, merely said, "Good job, Ace!" He didn't acknowledge her, still ticked about the Caterpie, and she frowned slightly. Huh. Shunned.
Eager to help out his future battling partner - he would insist upon it, he wasn't partnering with that damn Caterpie no matter how much Autumn bitched and whined - Ace continued to try draining nutrients from Whismur, hoping that her violent struggling and thrashing wouldn't manage to shake him off. <Just shut up and die,> he told the thing with an internal roll of the eyes he didn't have.

<Wah!!> The Whismur cried out. The Leach Life and Wrap combind was a deathly combo. The Ekans grip became tighter around her little body. She used Uproar once more at a close range. The Ekans hissed then backed off. He slithered back and then used a Leer attack on the Whismur. <You're mine!> He yelled and then went in for a Wrap around. Crying out loud, the Whismur looked at the Zubat and Trainer. Why were they hurting her and not helping her? She just didn't get it!

Autumn could tell that the pig was weakening, and also that a few more hits would likely take it down. She was starting to feel a little bad, thanks to the wailing the thing was doing, but it was all for the best, right? If they took down the pig, the Ekans would have a full stomach, and they'd have a new member to their team, a partner for Ace already. What would she name him, though? She wasn't even his trainer yet and she was already considering this crucial aspect. It needed to be something powerful, something cool! She couldn't have her precious Pokemon carrying about a stupid name. Sure, she'd stick with her theme, but what word...?
Meanwhile, Ace was completely oblivious to what Autumn was considering, paying absolutely no attention to his trainer as he teamed up with the Ekans to take down Whismur. He hadn't had this much fun in his life. His life near the Ranger Station had been sort of boring. You met someone cool, and then the next thing you know, they're off with some total stranger and you're left behind, alone. Not that he'd particularly wanted to be captured himself. But Autumn wasn't so bad, and he'd get a lot stronger this way. His father had been a Golbat, but apparently they became Crobat next. He'd never seen one of his final evolution before. The idea was sort of exciting.
So, eager to both increase his level and increase the strength of his team, he winced from the pain of the Uproar, but did not relinquish his desire to attack. Leech Life was a bit repetitive, but it was the only offensive move he knew, and it kept him from fainting in only a few hits, thank goodness.

The Whismur was done for, the Wrap and the Leach Life was so painful! Why was this happening? Why didn't they help her? They were helping the Ekans instead! What did she ever do to derseve this?
The Ekans wrapped himself tigher around the Whismur's body. <It'ssss almost over, prepare!> The Ekans hissed loudly in the Whismur's ears. He used Leer once more on the thing to weaken it even more.

Judging by how the pig's struggles were weakening, Ace had a feeling that they were nearing the end, and the Ekans confirmed this a moment later. <We're almost at the end,> he lamented, grinning sadistically at his opponent. The piggy was pretty chubby, too. Hell, if he was the type to eat pigs, he might have had some himself. But he wasn't, and so he was only helping out a brother in need.
"You're almost there, Ace!" Autumn encouraged, and if he'd possessed the power to roll his eyes, he would have. Obviously. Had he not just said that himself a moment ago? "Just try it one more time!"
Ace almost, out of spite, let go of his opponent childishly and refused to listen to her. However, he managed to keep his composure and merely ignored her instead; though he did carry out the final attack. Supersonic and Nasty Plot weren't offensive moves, so he didn't really have a choice. Autumn might have thought she was being intelligent, but really, he would have done it whether she'd spoke or not.

The piglet stared with tear filled eyes at the Zubat and Ekans. No mercy.... She had no mercy. It was such an awful way to go. As thje Zubat's fangs sank into her soft fur, puncturing flesh and drawing blood, she was done. Vision fading and terror freezing her fragile form, she tried to scream, to make one last Uproar, but she was too weak. She slipped into unconsciousness with a tiny squeak, surrounded by those who wanted her dead. Ekans hissed in delight. >Excellent work! Now, ssssssshal you kill it or sssssshall I?" ::whismur:: Whismur has fainted. Wild Ekans and Acerbus gain .5 of a level. [/I]

At last, the Whismur fainted. Autumn was somewhat relieved that it was finally over, considering she still did feel bad about it, in a way. She would have congratulated her Pokemon, but Ace seemed to be in a sour mood toward her for some reason, and so she didn't bother. Maybe he'd cheer up in a little bit. She hadn't called him bitter, dark and gloomy for no reason, after all. Anxious to make the new member of her team official, Autumn was already toying with a Pokeball in one hand, but she wanted to wait until the Ekans was ready before she'd throw it. She didn't want him to dislike her or anything, not when they were getting off to such a good start.
Ace chuckled in that bat-like way of his as he pulled his fangs from the unconscious form of the Pokemon, savoring the taste of the blood on his tongue, but neglecting the desire to go in for another one. This was all for his future partner, after all. <Go for it, she's all yours,> he said, slightly sadistic. This was why it was weird having a nice trainer for his partner. Ace wasn't exactly the most friendly Zubat alive.

>Eeeeexcellent,< hissed Ekans, and wrapped his powerful coils around the Whismur's prone form before squeezing tight. The Whismur's eyes opened briefly in a panicked gleam as she struggled weakly, before her eyes closed. After that, only a single, weak squeal escaped the unconscious piglet's mouth before a sharp crack signaled the end of her short life. Hissing softly, Ekans devoured his kill. When he finished shortly afterwards, and only bloodied bones littered the route, Ekans turned to Autumn. >You've kept your ssside of the bargain. I'll go with you now.< Dead. Mood: Content Ekans has agreed to join you.

[OOC: The Ekans is male xD]
Autumn felt a thrill of excitement as the poisonous Pokemon agreed to join their team at last. Heck, even Ace was excited to receive a new member of the team, but he showed it in much less embarrassing ways, merely grinning slightly when Ekans agreed to uphold his own end of the bargain. "Alrighty!" the girl said cheerfully, pulling the Pokeball she'd been holding from her belt. The Whismur's squeals of pain had been rather disturbing, but it had all been for this moment.
She could feel light sparks of electricity touching her skin as she held the Pokeball, and she hoped to herself that they would not shock her new teammate too horribly. Trying not to think about that, however, she gave a smile. "Here goes nothing." Tossing the Pokeball, she crossed her fingers slightly as she watched the Ekans enveloped in a flash of light.

Ekans was sucked in by the sparking Pokeball without a sound. As the sparks singed his scales, he hissed in pain and irritation, but he assumed it was a mere trial of strength and waited it out. He would not let this sphere beat him. Though it gave off a few sparks, the Pokeball ceased its nimiety of movement and settled on the ground. ::ekans:: You caught Ekans. Smiling at the Pokeball when she picked it up, Autumn gently pressed her lips to the top of the sphere, ignoring the light shock she got in response. Pulling out Ace's Pokeball, she returned him - rather without warning, causing him to screech irritably as he was sucked inside - muttering, "You two should rest for a while..." before glancing at Ventus. He could do with some training, and with a little TLC, he'd be an evolved Butterfree in no time!
Quite happy with herself, Autumn picked up the little bug, humming as she did so. "We can train without those two around, 'kay? They'll just pick on you." Ace never liked him to begin with, and he'd nearly been Atrox's - the name she'd decided to use for her new Ekans - lunch more than once. "You'll show them one day, when you're strong!"
He nodded uncertainly. "Y-Yeah... I guess I will..."

>Ah. Such a beautiful day!< The clear, child's voice echoed through the area, even though Budew had been warned to stay quiet by his parents before. He toddled into the area, gazing at the trees with wide eyes before sitting down, unaffected by the rough bark on his back. With such a nimiety of sunshine, and the gelid winter coming soon, it would be a waste if Budew didn't sunbathe. Closing his eyes, he fell into a light sleep as the sun's rays washed over him, filling his tiny body with warmth. ::budew:: Mood; Content. Sleepy.

Noticing a young and dozing Pokemon, Autumn cast a light grin in Vent's direction. Well, this could either given them an opportunity to battle, or an opportunity in friendship. Curious as to which Pokémon it was, since she'd never seen it before, Autumn gave a light frown and pulled out her Pokedex, pointing it at the sleeping bud.
Nothing.
A blank, black screen.
Feeling a wave of panic, she knew that this was not right. She had not yet used it on her other Pokemon, but she had seen her older brother with one. He'd been able to see the Pokemon, and a vast amount of information on it. She could see nothing. Autumn tried hitting it a few times, but that only left her with a sore palm and earned her a nasty spark from the thing after another moment. "Damn it!" she said loudly, shaking her head and pocketing the currently defective device.
<What's wrong with it?> Ventus asked her in that quiet tone of his.
"Stupid thing isn't working... I knew that Ranger was nuts..." Sighing, she shrugged. "Might as well talk to it, hmm? Hey!" she called loudly. "Hey! Wake up!"

- The Budew jolted upright at the sound of the loud human's call, and having no idea what was going on, the Budew screamed with as much effort as he could make. Running around in circles, since he was still suffering from 'mind is not yet awake-itis', his eyes searched both ways for any signs of traffic before charging right into a bush.
- He yelped as the nimiety of branches trapped his body within it, as if they were long arms trying to shove him into its mouth. He whimpered as his legs flailed from the other side, sensing an abominating feeling from this monster. This evil, evil monster!
- <H-help!> He squealed, still confused and disoriented. However, he was more alert now that he thought he was going to die from the killer bush.
