Soren watched with trepidation as another tackle attack was issued. Would it hit? Would Leeta be able to absorb more energy? Or would it simply be too much for her? He steeled himself, waiting for the geodude to react, his sharp nails digging into his palm. The pressure eased considerably when the rock pokemon simply hit it self right in the face. Confusion was good. He would have to make sure to use it against all of his foes.
"Release," he called, ordering Leeta to let out the built-up energy in her body. The pokemon flew toward the rock pokemon, her whole body glowing from the energy of the stored tackle, using it to propel her much quicker across the battlefield. Would this work? The geodude didn't seem like the kind of pokemon that would be phased from a simple body tackle, but Leeta hoped it would be enough. He had hit himself a couple of times, so maybe, just maybe this would do the trick. If not, she feared the retaliation.

”S-shit. Ken, Defense Curl.” Susumu watched on in worry as the ever so patient Ledyba released her bided energy, sending it as a mass of glowing energy towards Ken. He was still fighting off the confusion, being so stupid as to last more than 4 turns with it was quite astounding, but technically he only attacked himself in two of the said turns. Made sense, seeing that confusion had a 50% chance of making the victim attack itself. The Geodude turned toward the source of the blast and felt an eerie sense of danger; reacting purely out of instinct he curled up into a Defense Curl, boosting up his defenses as the blow forced him to roll on the ground like a ball. When the impact had finally subsided, the Geodude slowly uncurled himself with uncertainty, feeling bruised and battered, but otherwise able to battle. <…ow. You’re strong, aren’t ya?> He grumbled, clearly not happy that the bug managed to do that much to him. He was only lucky that he hadn’t used his strongest moves on her, otherwise he would’ve been gone for sure. ”I think we should take the offense, Ken. Mega Punch!” Susumu cried, ready to see his Geodude spring into action. That confusion status had been awfully annoying, and he wasn’t ready to see it hit his Pokemon again. Hopefully the Ledyba would be knocked out before it could confuse any other members of his team. The Geodude grinned wildly at his opponent, glad to finally make use of his special ability. Charging ahead at the bug with a glowing fist, he shot it at the bug with intent to crush and win. ::geodude:: |Level 7| Uses Defense Curl. Hit by Bide. Uses Mega Punch. ooc: That would count as a turn of bide. I couldn't imagine her being able to use another attack in the same post after using it, considering its potential.

Soren frowned at the use of Defense Curl, making the bide attack not as effective as he would have hoped. What did he want his next move to be? Maybe a comet punch? He knew that Leeta wasn't going to last any longer. Mega Punch. What? Geodude can learn mega punch? "Evade!" he said quickly, but it was too late. The bug pokemon was hit by the strong attack and fainted on the spot. Soren did not show too much emotions about the lost as he returned Leeta. Now it was time to face the dreaded stealth rock.
The trainer switched pokeballs and allowed his second pokemon out. Appearing in the middle of the floating field of rocks was a Farfetch'd, holding his stick between his beak. It did not take long before the rocks already damaged the flying pokemon as Elsu tried to make his way out. Soren could do nothing but grit his teeth before ordering his attack. "Lower and Steel up," he said. He had to get rid of this rock type quickly, before it did any more damage to his team.
The Farfetch'd tried to compose himself again, having finally freed himself from the stealth rock. He then swooped toward Ken as Soren's command registered in his bird brain. As he approached the geodude, Elsu leered at it, trying to catch it off guard a bit as his wings took on a metallic sheen to it, the artificial light of the trainer lounge reflecting on his feathers, as he followed the leer with a steel wing, hoping to finish off the geodude.

As the Ledyba was finished off, Ken and Susumu exchanged surprised looks, never winning against a trainer before. Well technically the battle was far from over, but they never even got to knock out their opponent’s Pokémon before. So this…? It was a nice change of pace for them. They exchanged hearty grins, giving the other a cheesy thumbs-up while Soren recalled the Ledyba into the depths of her Pokeball. Susumu reassessed his Pokemon, almost visibly noticing that he was acting more excited than usual. Had he gotten stronger that fast from the battle? <I’ve got guns, baby. Bada bing!> The Geodude laughed in a cocky tone of voice, mock kissing his arms as his newest opponent was released. That was when the Stealth Rocks activated, nearly crushing the Farfetch’d with all of its strength. Susumu scanned the Pokémon with interest, though he knew what they were. It was a family tradition to eat them during the Winter Holidays, but this was the first time seeing a live one up close. It looked so…inedible. Right as the Farfetch’d was planning to attack, Ken felt a sudden need to try out a new move. Something that he just realized he could do in the heat of the moment. Spinning around on the barren ground, the edges off of his body began to wear away, giving him a much more glossy appearance as his speed doubled. The Leer merely bounced right off of him as Elsu charged in with its Steel covered wings. To preoccupied with his spinning, the Geodude was an easy target for the move and was bounced to the side. <Oof!> He gasped, holding an arm to his wounded chest. That…that had really hurt. ’…guess he has a weakness to physical attacks after all. Won’t last long with moves like that, even with the Defense Curl.’ Susumu fretted from his side of the field, even though he appeared to be doing well in the battle. He hated to see his Geodude go down, ever, so it was best to make use of all of the time he had left in this fight. ”Mega Punch. Go!” He growled, wondering what other Pokémon he possessed that would be weakened by such a move. Would it hurt Daichi, who was also a ground type? The Geodude huffed, weakened but plenty fast enough to keep up with the speedy bird. Sliding quickly through the field until it was directly below the bird, he slammed his fists into the ground to propel himself into the air. With a pained stretch of his arm, he aimed a punch at whatever part of the bird he could reach. |Level 9| Dodges Leer with Rock Polish, Hit by Steel Wing. Uses Mega Punch. ooc: Get better moves then, you silly. If Geodude wasn't such a wall, it would knock out anything else. Also Ken will be knocked out in like, one more turn I swear. The level boost and the extra defense...I'm considering it all. D:

If Soren believed in Arceus, he would have prayed to him for the mega punch not to hit. He knew that the attack was a devastating one and he would rather Elsu avoid it. "EVADE" he called out, hoping that his voice would give the Pokémon enough strength to fly away.
He wasn't sure if it was his imagination or now, but Soren swore he heard something break as the mega punch hit its target. Bird bones were not the strongest and didn't take much to fracture, and when Elsu was send hurling backwards in the air, the trainer was terrified that the attack had killed it. He was about to call the Pokémon back and end the battle, but the Farfetch'd would have none of that. Though in excruciating pain, but not as beaten up as Soren had imagined, the Pokémon managed to stabilize himself in the air once again. Without really waiting for another command, the flying Pokémon wasted no time to fly back toward the pesky geodude, using a leer, once again followed by a steeling up his wings.
The rock Pokémon was going down. Elsu was determined to see it. He would not let it use another one of those scary mega-punches. If only his body would stop screaming out in pain.

After his heavy fist connected with bones and feathers, the Geodude sank like an anchor back onto the ground, making a low rumble in the ground from his landing. He looked wearily up at the agile Farfetch’d, who remained mobile despite the blow he had dealt it. Keeping his guard up as the bird flew back over to him, he prepared another Mega Punch without Susumu’s command, since it was going much too fast for him to get a voice in, he stopped mid-attack as the Steel Wing collided into him first. Like feathers of steel, they chipped away at his body, making him feel smaller and weaker. Ken hadn’t noticed the Leer attack, but it hadn’t mattered. Rolling back helplessly from the super effective assault, a faint moan escaped his rocky lips as he fell limp from the attack. Susumu stared in shock at his defeated Pokemon, who had had great faith in. Seeing him go down like that, so easily…it made him wish he had a moment to himself. Biting his lip, he quietly returned Ken into his Pokeball, only giving it a fond glance before switching it in for the next member on his team. He didn’t exactly trust letting out Daichi when Ken went down so easily, though he really didn’t know much about steel types. If he had, then for sure he would’ve let the yellow bugger out. Instead, he went with the wild side. The next Pokeball in his possession had an eerie crack in it, as if the very life of the Pokeball had been taken away. With a nervous sigh, he released the Pokémon within it with a simple toss in the air. The latches snapped open mid-air, letting out a small Magikarp in an un-celestial, comic ‘pop’ sound as the fish flopped about on the ground. Catching the Pokeball in a smooth motion, he gave a nervous look at the Magikarp, for it wasn’t anything ordinary. Kouki happened to have dark gray scales decorating her body, and she had a very unpleasant odor, despite his attempts to clean her. Every time resulted in the same, crazed expression in her eyes. A blank stare, as if she had no soul. She only wanted one thing, and that was: <Braaaaaaiiiinnnnns.> She flopped, smelling at least three juicy brains nearby. The closest belonged to something feathery that was nearby, and with the thrill of bloodlust fueling her forward, she flopped forward with a bunch of dark energy surrounding her body. At this time, the rest of the Pokeballs in his possession, with the exception of Kens, started to glow. It was a Beat Up, times the power of 4. Susumu tried to act like he was completely innocent, even though he sent out a potentially dangerous Pokémon. Level: 15 Wants Elsu's Effin' Brain! ooc: oh god I can't believe I'm using this.

There was a sense of victory that burst in Soren's chest. The rock pokemon had finally gone down! Unfortunately, the feeling was soon crushed to microscopic dust when his eyes fell on Susumu's next pokemon.
What the hell was that?
Whatever it was, Soren did not like it and felt dread and trepidation creep up behind him. His whole body seemed to shudder, simply looking at that pokemon. It was a magikarp, according to his pokedex, but magikarps did not look like that. And they did not know the move Beat Up, which caught him by surprise and managed to hit Elsu.
The farfetch'd went down, never suspecting anything more than a splash, or maybe a weak tackle from the fish-like pokemon. Soren returned him to his pokeball and reached for another. Flynn, Nayj, or Oosu. His two weaker ones would never stand a chance against this monstrosity. Instead, he'll have to rely on his beautiful swellow.
The flying pokemon was released and Soren was painfully reminded of the stealth rock, still in play. When would it ever go down? Did it ever go down, or did those rocks stay there until the battle ended? Soren knew that that was the case, but watching the swellow, trapped in a maze of sharp rocks, broke his heart. The graceful pokemon managed to make it out but was definitely scathed.
At least now he was angry enough to battle. His plumage had been ruined by that attack and Oosu wasn't happy about it. "Multiply, Attack," commanded Soren, before the swellow could land and start to preen himself. The pokemon in question thought about his commands for a second before executing it. Oosu started to fly around the zombie karp, going faster and faster until it seemed he had multiplied in number, ghosts of himself being left behind. Then, one of the projections flew out of formation to attack the water pokemon with a strong aerial ace.

Kouki didn't seem to care as the Swellow emerged from his Pokeball, already pre-injured from the Stealth Rocks. All she could do was flop around like a predator hungrily awaiting its prey to simply drop out of the sky. What surprised her was when the Swellow's body started to multiply into various ones, but only the smell of one brain remained. What tomfoolery was this? She hopped towards the only mirage that had a scent, not seeming to be fooled by the evasive Double Team. This led her unwittingly straight into the Aerial Ace, earning her a painful looking gash in her side. She merely splashed, unfazed by this wound. Her jumps looked a little shorter than before, but she was in good spirits. For a Magikarp that was dead, at least. "K-Kouki." He said the Pokemon's name with a stammer, not certain of her degree of loyalty. Would she even listen to him...? Not as if she had a brain of her own, so maybe she'd let him do the thinking for her. That was a nice thought. "Tackle the one over there." He exclaimed, pointing at the one he believed to be the Swellow. His eyes could have deceived him, with so many identical birds roaming about. Kouki, however, wasn't as convinced. Only a lot of speed and actual movement would make her attacks dodge-able. Not hiding behind some false imagery. Purely relying on her brain-lust, she hopped towards one of the three closest to the Swellow, possibly close but also possibly no cigar. Still, it was apparent that she had a good idea of Oosu's true location. At one of the random images, she used a weak Tackle by flopping as high as she could at the figure. |Now Level 16| ooc: Bothered, Ari? I think this makes me the first person to ever use that thing on here. Insert an awesome and exaggerating "FIRRRRRRSSSSTTTT" and a middle finger to everyone on here.

Soren's eyes followed the movement of the zombie magikarp, still a bit uneasy with it simply in the same room as him. It was a good thing Oosu was fast, and still listening to him. Maybe the swellow understood the importance of this battle. At least enough for it to listen to him now.
There was relief when the magikarp did not use beat up again, a move that was actually rather terrifying. Instead, a tackle was commanded, and Soren could only hope that it hit the wrong one. But no such luck. Oosu was hit in the chest by the water pokemon, but he quickly scrambled away, letting out an indignant cry, leaving stray feathers behind. Soren took this oportunity to give his next command. "Again," he said. The move combination was a strong one, and hopefully if Oosu kept using Double Team, it would just make it harder and harder for any pokemon to hit him.
The flying pokemon let out a huff, not too pleased with this. He was going to need SUCH a grooming job after this. He still followed the attacks, though, starting with a double team that made the other apparitions of himself clearer and more realistic. One of them then shot out toward the freaky pokemon with another aerial ace.

Susumu and Kouki both had dazed expressions as the Swellow began to form more copies of itself, making it harder to differentiate which was the true one. Even now, Kouki's nose was starting to act fishy when the newest clones were covered with more of Oosu's scent. She still figured a basic idea of where he was as he approached her, but by then the speedy move had already struck her. "A-ah." Susumu stammered, wincing as he saw the blow done to the Zombie Karp. It was almost as if he was going through the battle himself, but that was silly, right? His breathing had subconsciously quickened from the excitement, and his eyes worked to trace Oosu among his many fakes. "Beat Up on...well, just go with your gut." He couldn't even make a guess, having lost track of the agile bird already. Camouflaged in his own kind, he supposed. The Magikarp flopped helplessly for several moments, unable to decide on which one to strike. So many brains, wonderful, warm brains. How she wanted that warmness for herself. It was going to be hers! She made her way to the nearest one, brimming with dark energy as she made her way to strike at the fearsome bird before it could fly too high. ooc: pfffffffft. double team. ok, go ahead. Magikarp really do have some good defense though. Special Defense is what sucks. ;c

Soren was caught off guard by the sudden earthquake-like tremors, and then the lights just all going down. The battle room was completely engulfed in darkness and it took quite a bit of effort for Soren not to completely panic and break down. "Oosu! Return!" he said, taking the pokeball back out. However, the capsule seemed to be malfunctioning and did not release a red light that would have made him feel a lot better. Were the stealth rocks still there? Hopefully not. The battle was over. He did not care anymore. The safety of his Pokémon came first. "Oosu!"
Swellows were not nocturnal pokemon, and thus did not do too well in the dark, landed onto the ground. Flying in these pitch black conditions would not accomplish anything. The Pokémon let out a soft trill to reassure his trainer. Soren might be still inexperienced, but he treated his Pokémon well. Besides, they were kin. Oosu could feel it, in his trainer. Swellow blood ran in his veins.
Blindly, Soren slowly walked toward the field, taking cautious steps. Oh Arceus. It was so dark, darker than anything he had ever experienced. In this man-made room, there were no windows. Nothing but walls everywhere, and without artificial light, nothing illuminated his way. But he had to find his Pokémon.

Susumu exploded with electrical power and instantly saved the day. no plot. haha suckers. When the tremors in increased, several of the lights above their heads fell right to the ground, the light bulbs smashed upon the impact, scattering dangerous glass across the floor. Susumu gasped as each of the bulbs fell, covering his eyes as some of the glass cut against his arms. "Kouki, return." He called, unable to see a damn thing in the room. How could he even recall his Pokemon if he couldn't point the Pokeball at her? <...brains.> The Zombie Magikarp appeared allured by the darkness, creeping through it as the glass cut against her body. She seemed oblivious to the threat of dying permanently as she inched closer to the Swellow, attempting to get her mouth on his feathery head. "Shit, Kouki. Don't do anything stupid." He swore, instantly aware of the danger Soren's Pokemon was in. Unless he wanted a zombie Swellow, they both better do something soon. "Hey, tell me you found your Swellow. If Kouki gets to it..." His voice trailed, trying to inch forward in the darkness, having no idea what he should do. It was all a bad, bad situation. "Let's just say you can't control the dead" He frowned, hoping that he got his meaning across. He heard footsteps in the distance, and the shifting of glass on the ground. Who was what? ooc: plot plot plot plot plot. THE KID CAN'T USE ELECTRICITY. SRRY. YOU MADE THE POKEMORPH RULES. Has better idea.

The glass bulbs exploding had definitely not been what Soren would have considered an 'ideal situation'. He hadn't quite expected it and a shower of glass fell onto him, most of them bouncing off his thick outer wear, but some of them managing to cut the hands that went to cover his head.
Calm. He had to stay calm. How the fuck was he supposed to stay calm when there was a monster of a Pokémon in this room? The pitch black room, with nothing but a pokemorph. That morph had probably been the one that caused this, hadn't he? He did not know what exactly Susumu was, but he disliked it. A no-good pokemorph that thought himself better than the rest, no doubt.
And then Susumu seemed to want to... help? No. That wouldn't be right. He was just trying not to get into any trouble. Didn't want to be liable for destroying the lights in this room and letting loose a monster magikarp.
In the darkness, Soren tried to make his way over to Oosu, who was doing the same. The bird Pokémon was taking a little longer, nails clicking on the floor every step. He stopped once in a while to preen his feathers, completely messed from the battle, the stealth rock, and the damned glass that had came down. He hadn't been too hurt by it, but his feathers just felt untidy. Unfortunately, he did not really expect the magikarp to keep coming for his brain until the water Pokémon was mere inches away. Startled, Oosu quickly tried to peck it away, letting out an angry squawk as he was doing so. <Battle's over!> he told the zombie as Soren hurried a bit, toward the source of the sound.
-ahem- FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU C;
Other that that, what you got planned? Soren is going to be all hate hate hate betrayal when he sees susumu in power plant, so let's not end this horribly ;)

Kouki hissed as she was pecked by the bird, more glass digging into her sides in the process. She was tired, but hungry. Would she give up because her body would eventually refuse to function? Not when there was a juicy bird right before her. Brains, blood, heart and all. The feeling of a warm heart pumping that delicious blood all over the Swellow's body was enough to drive the zombie crazy with desire. <You are mine!> She grumbled, refusing to back down to the much stronger bird. All she wanted to do was put her lips on the bird's head. That was all! A few licks would've been nice too! She made a hop right to the bird's head, attempting to bite it with her toothless mouth with all of her might. "Sounds like a scuffle. Dammit. Michi, get out here." He swore, struggling to find the correct Pokeball. Which one was it!? It was all so dark, and his team was completely out of order. Normally the Chinchou was the third in line, but after some battling, things were changed. '...I'm called?' The Chinchou sensed Susumu's worried tone, and decided to give his trainer a hand. He shook rapidly in the ball, making it tremble as sparks filled the rim of the sphere. That at least caught Susumu's attention, and in a swift motion he released the Chinchou from his Pokeball. Instantly, the electric type's Illuminate ability kicked in. Two faint glows lit up a small portion of the room. It was no flash, but it was something. Everyone's figures were slightly revealed, and he noticed how close to Soren the Swellow and Kouki were. Crap. He better be careful. The sudden light blinded Soren just a bit, his eyes having just started to adjust to the darkness. What was that thing? The glow of the chinchou's light wasn't that strong, but it let out a creepy glow. Soren wasn't too comfortable with it. At least he could see a bit more, so it was a good thing, he believed. The light came just in time for him to see his precious Swellow being attacked by that terrifying creature.
The magikarp's deadly mouth actually managed to latch onto Oosu's head, but the bird would have none of that. He thrashed around before managing to get away, flying off just a little bit, until the swellow found Soren's shoulder where he would be higher and safe from that zombikarp. <Try and eat me now!> he taunted the pokemon, before using the little light to guide his beak to his own feathers, preening himself. This battle had completely ruined his feathers and Oosu was mortified with how he looked.
Soren hadn't expected the sudden weight on his shoulder and he almost buckled when Oosu landed. He managed to stay up, glad that his swellow still looked normal. Whatever was wrong with the zombie had not affected his pokemon, thank god.
"Return it!" Soren hissed nonetheless, to Susumu. His pokemon safe, he could now go back on the defensive. (But really, what kind of trainer let out this horrible pokemon?) His natural instincts were probably right. This trainer was nothing but trouble and he should avoid too much contact. Especially as he got closer, Soren's insides started to churn more and more. The glass on the floor made it less than ideal to walk around, though, especially with a lack of proper shoes. Instead, he shuffled back a bit, balancing the large bird on his shoulder.

Return it!Susumu made a blank stare towards the scene when Oosu managed to shake off Kouki, especially since he was clearly the stronger of the two, while the fish flopped back onto the dangerous glass. He winced as he saw her flesh get slightly torn, feeling bad for the zombie. He still cared for her, even if she was dead. Fumbling with her Pokeball due to nerves, he quietly recalled her back inside, while Michi worriedly huddled beside his legs. The way the glass shimmered on the ground from his light looked pretty enough, but he didn't like the way they looked. It reminded him of the claws on cats. Not fun at all. "...ok, that was weird. I'm...not staying here." He scooped Michi up in his arms, protecting the fish from the dangerous glass on the ground. Each step he made, Michi's light trailed after him like a candle light encased in glass. There was a wary look in his eyes when he walked next to Soren, not having much of a choice, and his body literally jumped from the coldness of his face. ooc: XD If he's going to do the cliche. do it here. on the glass. so at least its amusing and painful. Soren felt a lot safer with the zombiekarp tucked in his pokeball. He allowed himself to relax just a bit, unwinding his muscles a tad. They had been completely tense, when the dead pokemon had been out of the field.
With Susumu so close as he walked past, Soren felt the different energy coming from the boy ever more strongly. And even more peculiarly, Oosu started to stare at him as if he were some kind of prey. To the swellow, what he sensed and what he saw were different. This trainer smelled a lot like food. A lot stronger than the bird smell seeping from Soren's pores. The pokemon took off without a warning, though the force of the flight made Soren lose his balance and fall back, straight onto the sharp glass. He tried to buffer his fall and grabbed onto the nearest thing he could latch onto, which happened to be Susumu.
Regardless, Soren still fell, feeling the shards of glass bite into his skin across his clothing. The bird pokemon let out a bit of an apologetic noise, but his scaled claws was a good barrier against the sharp glass so the swellow couldn't really feel much as he landed as well. Soren almost could not believe that Oosu went straight back to preening himself, having hopped off because the trainer's shoulder wasn't quite big enough for him to properly align all of his wing feathers.
sorry for the epic!fail post. but i made him fall on glass shards. Happy now?

'W-what is this strange feeling?' Susumu glanced at the Swellow, whose eyes happened to be looking right at him. Or perhaps right through him was more like it. He shuddered, not liking such attention being given to his form, as if they were trying to piece apart every secret about him. <Adios.> The Chinchou literally jumped out of Susumu's arms in fear, leaving him to take whatever the Swellow was going to deal to him. Of course, he would've attacked if it got worse, but for now, the Chinchou wanted no part of this. He whimpered as some of the glass cut against his body, but was even more frightened at the loud sound the two humans made when Soren practically 'tackled' his trainer to the ground. "What the-" Susumu's arms waved like crazy as he was brought down, head smacking right into the hard ground while several shards of glass shifted uncomfortably on his jacket. Wincing from the pain, he was stuck on the ground for several uncomfortable moments until he felt fine enough to sit upright. But damn, his head was screaming curses at that bastard. It wasn't Soren's fault, sure, but it felt good blaming him.

Even though Soren was the one that had grabbed onto Susumu and made him fall, the close proximity with the other morph made the avian trainer very uneasy. Being so close to another pokemorph had never given him anything good. Being so close to anyone wasn't good. He felt constricted, caged, and without anywhere to go.
He pushed Susumu away, almost violently. Logic had no more place in this situation anymore as he yelled 'don't touch me!' So what if it was his fault in the first place that Susumu was so close to him? But the proximity of the two trainers was hard for Soren to handle. Besides, the other trainer gave off vibes that felt incredibly weird.
Soren scrambled to get up, but his heavy clothing tangled up a bit, slowing his pace quite a bit. But he needed to get out of here. What had started out as just a battle turned out to be a disaster. He was starting to panic more and more, as the dim light from the chinchou wasn't any reassurance. For all he knew, the door was also locked and they were stuck in here.
"You have power, fix it!" he suddenly demanded, not too sure what had brought that outburst out. It might have been the jealous thought that this other trainer probably had some cool powers and was just holding back because he didn't want this poor halfbreed to be jealous. Or maybe the power would have been too overwhelming, or the other just liked to watch Soren squirm. But the other trainer couldn't be a regular human. His instincts told him otherwise. Susumu wasn't someone from the clan of the birds, but other than that, anything was possible.
