Sooo, I have an idea, which is... somewhat likely to be shot down on sight from my vision but I still think warrants some merit. What is it, you ask? A Pokewalker, or as it is so hard in comparison to the normal pokewalker to use this, more a pokemarcher. While Pokewalkers give people random items and the chance to catch pokemon, threads already do that and if you were trying to do that why not walk around with an item finder [you can buy them].
No, to me the thing that sticks out the most about a Pokewalker is the experience gained. While there's no way to describe 'steps' within a thread, I had 2 ideas on how to stimulate a 'Pokewalker' like device. Both ideas are similar and feature these things:
- Being a held item [like a collar or something] which takes up a Pokemon's 'held item' slot.
- Costing a sizable amount.
- Giving levels after a certain amount of posting. Where the posting is- that depends on the thread you're in.
Idea 1: Pokewalker gives a level for something like every 200-300 posts the player makes OOCly, with a witness recognizing when the Pokemon is given the collar or whatever OOCly, and the post count which the player was at when that happened.
In this example, I'd move for the Pokewalker to be extremely expensive, I mean like up there with the lucky egg or exp share, and perhaps for it not to be able to be used when any of those items are- and for a person having to have someone notate [witness] their post count before they hit Operation PD on Saturday, and only allow those posts to count for a half, a fourth, or not at all.
Idea 2: Pokewalker makes the pokemon holding the item go up a level every to every other page of the journey thread the player goes through- or interaction/battle thread in Verona. But it can only be used in one thread at a time.
Woosh, tell me your thoughts/shoot it down, whateva. 8) *Goes to pet his new puppy pokemon*
