I decided to have this suggestion because I was thinking of all the stat boost moves and how they would have an affect on your pokemon.
Attack = Your attack is that much stronger
Defense = Your resistance to attack is that much stronger
Sp Atk = Same as attack
Sp Defense = Same as defense
And then I thought of speed. What exactly does a speed boost do for you? Or lowering your opponent's speed do for you?
You apparently can be more evasive, but with the 3 dodge rule that isn't too helpful... So then I took a second and thought of maybe having a "second" affect?
So far we have Quick Claw which says: Once every 3 turns you can attack twice.
I was thinking speed boost can have a similar affect.
Every time the difference in boost is an increasing multiple of 3, you can attack twice...
What does this mean? When the difference is 3 you can attack twice. When the difference is 6 you can attack twice. When the difference is 9, you can attack twice. And when the difference is 12 you can attack twice.
Once you get the difference of three, you can not decide to repeat it though... and that goes for the others.
So what does that mean.
1. If you have +3 speed or your opponent has -3 speed. Or you can have +2 and your opponent has -1. You can attack twice.
a. This makes sense, the difference in 3 means you are three times as fast, so you should be able to attack twice.
b. But we don't want people to godmod or rig it, so once you do attack twice, you can not do this again... UNTIL.
2. You get +3 speed and your opponent has -3 speed. Or any that adds up to a difference of 6.
c. At this point, you are so much faster than your opponent that you should be able to attack twice in a turn again.
d. But not repeating it, until...
3. You reach +6 speed and your opponent is -3 speed. Or any that adds up to a difference of 9.
e. Now you are 9 times faster than your opponent. So yes you should be able to attack twice.
And last one is if you are +6 and your opponent is -6. It will give more purpose to the speed boost as it gives you an opportunity to attack twice. And with these guidelines, it'd be hard to rig as it will be hard to get a difference of 6, 9, or 12. But if you do get it, you should be given an opportunity to attack twice again.
This is not as special as Quick Claw, but it is similar to Quick Claw. And it makes speed boost kind of important. AND LASTLY, this allows us as a board to show why Yanma and Ninjask are important pokemon. They have the ability speed boost, so they can obtain these easily. And they should be able to attack twice at times, because they are normally SO MUCH FASTER than their opponents. And they aren't that physically strong so it helps even out the playing field a little. Make speed more important.
