I personally am not one to use much BB Coding. Nor do I use HTML coding ever since I stopped being interested in my IT classes. However, I would LOVE to be able to do a lot more with my posts and signature than what I do now. Sure, I could just go to Google and see if I couldn't find a tutorial, but let's face it...that's too much work~ xP
Basically what I was thinking was maybe just making a tutorial describing a lot of the biggest BB Codes, how to use them properly, what they really do, etc, for those who aren't really 'code-savvy'. It would be very handy to have one in a convenient location on the site, like in the Rules somewhere. I for one would love to be able to use that Scrolling code to put my Party in each of my character posts or shrink my Sig...but I also don't really want to have to bother bothering somebody with it.
Or perhaps just set up an "Ask the Expert" board where people can post specific coding questions. I don't know if a place like that exists already or not, but I haven't seen one. (I wouldn't consider them FAQ-worthy questions, either.)

I like this idea. I wouldn't mind setting up a board in general or in the art section for people to ask questions about coding. I think it'd be pretty useful.

That's a good idea ressie :3 Then if questions are asked you can add them to the first post. Ya know?

It doesn't have everything but it has some of the basics. However I agree with what Ari said awhile back when I started this. You learn best by doing not reading. Play around with it, see how things work first hand. Here you are.Anyone with knowledge in coding can add to it really if you find you want something added.

Actually, that is NOT true. I personally do NO do better by doing. I learn by reading and watching. Not everybody learns in the same way. I get easily frustrated when something doesn't work out and I can't quite tell how to fix it, and I absolutely hate having to ask for help, because I'm always afraid of looking stupid when it's right there in front of my face. (Sorry if that jumped out a bit, but I just get annoyed when people claim they know how a person's mind works because it's how other minds work. I've had teachers give me that problem so much that I've had to drop their class because I wasn't learning anything.)
Also, thanks for the thread, but I already know most of the very basics of Tables stored away in my memory banks from my IT classes a few years ago. xD;

I think what they meant digi was that you can read all you want but until you actually try it for yourself you can't actually know for sure all the quirks~ plus the instant you want to customize something they've taught you you're learning by doing. :'D
Sounds like a cool idea! Though~ Since F always makes such cool tables even if she always uses scrollbars of sin.

A thread or something that shows people how to do something like THAT would be awesome.
