Okay, been awhile since I did forum role play, but I'm rather pleased with what I came up with. Took a week of thinking and lurking the site before I came up with this.
Full Name:Emen Levin Clemens
Alias: He calls himself, "The most brilliant man in the world." (Whether you believe that is another thing)
Gender: Male, unless there was some weird third gender that's appeared from nowhere. (Wonder how the biology would work, or the role in breeding. Mmmm...)
Age: Sixteen, born on the twenty-ninth of June. I had better see a party then. (Bring presents)
IQ: Good enough... fine 138. (It's actually 128.)
Hometown: Mahogany Town, Johto, land of f**k you, I'm awesome! (Yeah, he has a bit of an ego...)
Alignment: Lawful Amazing (According to him.)
Occupation: Future Pokémon Professor! Better yet, already a Pokémon Professor! (Pretending to BE a Pokémon Professor!)
Theme: Teknopathic - Jet Set Radio Future (Because I wanted a theme that spelled out; god awful/still do want/ downright funky.)
VS Theme: King DeDeDe's Theme - Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Because I wanted a theme that could be related to a more well known asshole.)
Allegiance: Me, myself, and I. (Part of him's a sellout, but he does have some morals that he will simply refuse to budge on.)
Zodiac Sign: Pffff, horoscopes are for nerds, oh wait... (No seriously, I never looked it up.)
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual. Dunno what it is? Look it up. (Is it self-aware? Can it be romanced? Does it have sizeable holes? You bet he might.)
Appearance: Edit: Okay, for those of you who need a visual aid and/or don't like reading a lot. Let's just say he looks like Cheren. I made him look that way before I even looked up his features. So yeah, picture him, but in a lab coat one size too large...
Emen's already finished with his growth spurt, and is content with the results. Standing at five feet and seven inches, weighing one-hundred and twenty-nine pounds, Emen comes off as a little tall and a little thin. While not out of shape due to the random hike or run, he still couldn't probably lift that sofa chair by himself. He let his hair grow out a bit, only having it cut when it blocks his eyes or reaches his shoulders. It's mostly black with a tinge of red splashed here and there. No, he's not emo, well, not anymore. No, he doesn't have a special eye color. They're simply brown. Due to watching too much TV, reading in the dark, staring into the sun on a bet, and just to reinforce his geekiness, his eyesight is poor, and he wears glasses to compensate, because what better way to point out he's a nerd than to have glasses? His clothing of choice is actually a lab coat, yes, that's right. His favorite thing to wear is a suit. Emen wears it specifically to make himself look more professional, and try to masquerade as an actual Pokémon professor, complete with a PHD inkicking your ass Pokemanz. It's actually worked a few times. (I'll patch together a picture later. Right now, I want this thing posted.)
Background: Nothing too perfect, nothing too tragic, Emen was brought into this world in Mahogany Town, to a fantastic family of four, well, it was four when he entered the picture. Boris, a careful father who spent his days at construction or fishing, Eva, a busy mother who worked as an agent for the International Police, and Natasha, an older sister, who simply craved the love and attention that she received. While his elder sibling didn't like having to share the spotlight with her baby brother, they got along fine enough. Emen always got more attention; he was better at crying. As he grew up and developed a real personality, childish clashes with his sister happened often. While she did care for the boy, she loved inventing ways to not show it. Standard sibling rivalry fare, prank traps carefully set up at paths most likely for their enemy to take, engaging eachother in a bloodless brawl of brutality, a debate over who could make up the most slanderous word for the other... Their parents quite enjoyed watching it every now and then. The constant conflict kept him on edge, but it helped him develope a bit of character. His father was home often, his job and pasttime not taking him too far from the house. Emen's mother, on the other hand, went on trips every now and again, investigating and breaking up criminal syndicates, then Eva coming back with a weary face, a large paycheck, and a sincere smile for her family.
Emen would often ask his mom about what regions she had visited, the sights Eva had seen, the Pokémon she encountered, and the evil-doers she put down. She spoke to him of the modern wonder of Kanto, the native monuments of Johto, the natural beauty of Hoenn, and the technological achievements of Sinnoh. Eva never went into detail about confronting her foes head on, but everything else fascinated Emen. He took up an interest in history and Pokémon myths, wanting to look up any she'd be unable to tell him, and always borrowed books from a library for an undetermined amount of time to learn more facts that few bothered to memorize. Emen's connection with his father wasn't as strong, but, that would have to change. See, one day, when Emen was finally a pre-teen, she was out doing her job, and she was taking too long to come back. She didn't call home, and home tried to call her, but nothing. The family she left only had to worry for awhile before the International Police came up to their door, explaining everything. She was dead, simple as that. That was all the boy needed to know. Emen didn't want to hear anything after that, and simply ran straight to his room while the cops and the father were still talking.
The house was quieter after that day, Boris began working more hours, the rebellious sister was thinking about leaving to go... somewhere (who cares, she's not important in the story now), and Emen was currently in an teenage emo phase. The loss of his mother pretty much cut his sunny mood in half. He continued to spend a good deal of his time in studies, but began taking up offers from his father to go on camping and fishing trips at the Lake of Rage. It gave him some much needed sunlight and more interaction with Pokémon and nature. Over time, activities with Boris began to quiet down Emen's angst, and he focused his efforts on more productive activities instead of brooding, such as graduating from the local school as soon as possible. He wasn't really all that of a rebellious teen after bonding with his father a little. When they had to move to a smaller house due to less income for the household, Emen didn't mind. When his sister finally left to embark on her Pokémon journey, Emen didn't care. When his father took the 'till death do we part' vows literally, and began dating again, Emen wasn't upset. When Emen graduated from school several years in advance, he stayed in the house, and did a lot of nothing. His father felt Emen was wasting food, time, and his potential, and confronted him several weeks later to pick a career path, now. The boy developed a dream of being a Pokémon researcher and expert, throughout his lifetime, and when pushed by his parent to choose what to do in life, Emen had his goal set.
For getting an 'official' education, Emen did not know what to do. There was nearly no money to spare, and while he knew a lot already, new discoveries were being made all the time. So he had a thought, why not disocver them himself? Field work was often the best work, and many renowned professors started out as simple trainers. He was going to leave, but Emen didn't know where he would move to. Where he would start his own life. He wanted to be independant,he only needed to pick from the diffirent regions that he could journey to. Cost was of no concern. His dad already pledged his help by buying him a ticket to wherever. Kanto? Boring, no mysteries. Johto he explored a bit and knew about well enough; Emen wanted something fresh. Hoenn or Sinnoh might have worked, but he read plenty about them in books and conversations. There was the Unova region, which Emen knew very little of, but then he saw another area that sparked even more interest. While looking over the list of random land masses he could go to, one name that he didn't recognize at all caught his eye. Cheyenne? What the hell was this place and why hadn't he heard of it before? When asking Boris about it, he simply shrugged, saying "Not much 'bout Cheyenne's recorded. It ain't canon." Wondering about what this land could hold, and what the heck his father meant by 'canon', Emen had his location. Material possessions were packed, arrangements were made, and he was off, to begin his grand quest to discover things man was possibly not meant to know.
Personality: He's a nerd. He's out of it. He's socially akward. He's often muttering to himself about some useless detail. Emen's not the best person to interact with other people. The kid's a little shy, and tries to avoid direct confrontation whenever possible. Given a problem to work out alone, he might have it solved in an instant. Given a larger problem and forced to work with a group about it, Emen may not be helpful. He's the kid who will be in the back of the room, trying to say as little as possible. He has the constant fear that he'll mess up at, anything, that he hasn't determined a very high chance of not failing. As a result, he's not that much of a risk taker. You can probably guess he doesn't make too many friends. Getting him out of his metaphorical shell takes coaxing. Being around friends who won't ridicule him for mistakes gives him a little confidence, and helps let out his true personality. Emen can be pretty bright and positive when he's around people he trusts, sharing with them his unique brand of humor, and intelligence. Though at the same time, one may realise he can be kind of an uncaring jerkass at times, not really willing to dabble into things that don't concern him. Not without a VERY good reason anyways. The more he trusts you, the more effort he's willing to put to help you. He has trouble befriending girls his age, or simply talking to them. He never met too many in his life so far, and with certain, urges, he's beginning to notice them a lot more. When abused or taken advantage of, he can throw quite the temper tantrum. Pray he doesn't get his hands on something sharp, or a Pokémon able to shoot lazer beamz. He's not really a violent person, just as violent as any average trainer would be.
If pushed into a Pokémon battle, some of the worst qualities of him appear. Emen can be spiteful, selfish, rude, and more when fighting. To him, the battle's just another game to be won, and doesn't take it too seriously. While he does care for his own Pokemon, the concept of being fair doesn't come to mind if he's on the winning side and beating the enemy left and right. For him, there's no kill like overkill. He might let out an insult or two as the scene drags out, just to see if he can provoke a reaction from his opponent. He'll make sure to enjoy himself, whether it's by winning or trolling the opponent while losing.
He's not a complete bastard, but he's definetly not an angel.
Info: He has a fear of Gyarados that he has trouble overcoming. Emen keeps wondering why some other people aren't scared of them. Look, when you hear about campfire stories of giant sea serpents eating people swimming in a small lake, it's one thing. When you hear about those stories and then actually SEE a Gyarados in the lake you swim in, it's another.
Emen can be quite the survivalist at times, retaining some knowledge of his outdoor activities near the Lake of Rage. At the very least, he won't get lost in the woods, touch a leaf that might be a Victrebel in hiding, or eat the wrong kind of berry. He's no stranger in using a fishing pole either.
Despite his expertise not to get killed by nature for at least several hours, he has a mind of metal, and favors 'smarter', or artificial looking Pokémon. He will make do with any Pokémon available, but he has a few favorites. Several species that he admires fall into Normal, Steel, or Psychic.
He is a diehard fan of tabletop and roleplaying series games, often using it to escape what he saw was a dull life to re-enact something awesome. The idea usually is to pretend you're a psychic, Aura user, Pokemorphs or such, and get a group together of similar individuals, and do hero stuff (usually), and try to take down and defeat a 'Dungeon Master' player who's controlling all but the player characters. Crazy isn't it? What's even crazier is that Emen has played and DM'ed so many sessions that he sometimes confuse reality with several rulebooks, reinforcing his identity as a complete nerd.
He has a plan to take over the world that he will firmly admit to (Maybe not believe in). It consists of;
Step One: Learn everything about Pokémon.
Step Two: ?
Step Three: PROFIT!!!
He has yet to complete step one.
