Zane smirked. Good, he'd call the new one Hermes. The God of Thieves. He picked up Hermes Pokeball and returned Astro to his. They both did a good job. Zane walked along the route, continuing his way towards the next city.
He thought about what he wanted his team to be. He was mostly a Ice and Water type person. He would very much likely to keep him. Hermes, it depended if he showed true power of or not. He continued thinking about this as he walked on.

As Zane walked along, the path began to have less trees and bushes. The foliage began to slowly dissolve into the earth as short grass as the route turned into wide valleys and meadows, where some farmers chose to claim this as grazing land for their cattle. If he kept true to the path, it would've led to a fork in the road. The sign that was right in front of it stated:
<--- This Way ----> That Way
Well, that wasn't the most helpful sign in the world. But there was someone down there, though she was no human, she was somewhat able to communicate with them. The Wild Abra was letting out a low hum with shut eyes, meditating beneath the sign as if in deep thought.

Zane stopped. Oh great, a freaking fork in the road, and the sign didn't help any either. He looked down at the Abra, overing beneath the sign. He bent down and rested on his heels. "Excuse me," He started. "You mind telling me which way the town is?" He pointed at the useless sign above the Abra. "That isn't helping much." he said. He was hoping it would just tell him and let him be on his way, but with his luck probably not.

'A town. A human settlement that populates the land with giant buildings of earth.' The Abra communicated telepathically to the human, her inner voice sounding rather tired and not willing to interact with others. Her body remained still, as if she hadn't reacted to his approach at all.
'This is correct?' She asked, her intent on this line of conversation was not clear. Maybe she wanted to sound smart. It seemed more likely though, that she was practicing her telepathy, which she was not very good at yet. For some reason, she could only talk to certain humans and psychic Pokemon, while she had to talk out loud for Pokemon.
An odd thing, yes, but she knew that she would grow out of it eventually. Her mother went through the same thing, indeed. It was only natural that she had to learn this way.

Zane sighed. The Abra was of no help it seemed. "Yes, a town with people." He said again. Maybe if he had a Pokemon with him the Abra would think differently.
Zane took Hermes ball and let him out. Hermes popped out in a flash of light and stared at the Abra. <Hey look! My boss wants to know which way is the right way? We cool?> He asked, staring at the Abra.

The Abra had closed her eyes yet again, finding it easier to concentrate on her telepathic link when she wasn't trying to make out what was in front of her. A few seconds after the human spoke, however, before she could gather enough concentration to communicate again, a second mind joined the first. A Pokemon, and one who spoke with an odd mannerism, she noted.
Cracking open one eye, she glanced only long enough to identify that it was a Zigzagoon, a rather raccoon-like Pokemon that was common on this route. Satisfied with what she had deduced, her eyes closed yet again.
<Cool?> she thought. <This means neither warm nor very cold, yes? I find it quite cold, on the contrary...> She obviously didn't understand what the other Pokemon was trying to say. Her telepathic link was weakening with exertion, and she fought to hold on to it.

Zane sighed. This was going no where. Time to force some answers out, and if he didn't get any at least Hermes would get some training down. "Lower defense than attack." Zane said.
Hermes nodded. <You got it boss!> He said. He wagged his tail at the Abra, cute or not it was gonna do its job. Then he went into a full body tackle at the Abra.

Given that the Abra had her eyes closed, she did not see the preparations for attack. And she was focusing on her mental link, and thus did not hear the trainer. You got it, boss? What in Arceus' name did that mean? She couldn't pull a definition out of the bag for that one, and in her confusion, she cracked open her eyes a little bit, to survey the two.
And promptly got slammed backward with a Tackle.
<Barbaric!> she accused aloud, quite offended at their rash behavior. It wasn't like she hadn't tried. She was a wild Pokemon, how the hell was she supposed to know what they needed? <Savagely cruel, exceedingly brutal!> Her eyes were open now, ablaze with fury toward the current situation. She had merely been practicing a telepathic link, and she was assaulted. <You fiends!> she continued, in a rage. <Malicious creatures! Demons!>
Eager to get away from the raccoon, she gathered her psychic powers and literally just... disappeared. There was a comical pop as she did so. Though planning to reappear quite far away, she didn't get very far before her energy failed. <Drat!> she snarled.

Hermes snickered. What was this Abra doing? Fleeing? What a whimp! He thought.
Zane rasied an eyebrow. The Abra teleported away, but not too far. He was surely not going to catch this, but use it for training with Hermes. "Again." He said.
Hermes nodded. <Got'cha boss!> He yelled. He shook his little tail at the Abra again, making a cute atempt to lower its defense then went in for a full body Tackle on it.

The Abra was still getting over her shock at their gelid behavior. For really, what gave them the right to be so cold and nefarious? She'd done nothing but give the best aid she could, and now she was being used like some worthless excuse for a punching bag. If she'd been any sort of emotional Pokemon, she might have cried at how saddening this was.
However, she was enraged, not depressed, and her eyes narrowed as she shook her head, having been distracted momentarily by the waving of his tail. <Trying to trick me, are you?> Her anger fueled her psychic abilities, and the link between herself and the Zigzagoon strengthened immensely for a brief moment. <Cunning, deceitful acts of trickery! Well... well I won't stand for it!>
She'd made the mistake of closing her eyes to establish the link, however, and the Zigzagoon slammed into her full force, driving the breath from her lungs momentarily.
After regaining composure, she disappeared and reappeared yet again. <Monster!> she snapped at him.

Zane scowled at the Abra. It wasn't his fault it was a useless Pokemon, all the thing knew was Teleport. Hermes clearly had a advatage over it. "Again." He said.
Hermes nodded and looked around for the Abra as she disappeared again. Then reappearing he wagged his tail at her again. <Want some of this?!> He screeched. Then he bolted at her again in a full body Tackle.

The abra seemed to start smiling as the Zigzagoon became more certain. The telekinetic pokémon yawned before he started talking. <' You really think you can catch me... '> He said while raising an eyebrow (wait, Abra has no eyebrows!?)
The Abra then surrounded himself in a purple aura, before dissapearing in a flash, appearing right above the incoming Zigzagoon. As the abra fell down, it tried to hit the Zigzagoon on the head with a weaker, lamer variation of a slam attack.
Obviously, he had dodged the incoming Tackle attack, but for some reason. The abra felt even more tired than usual. <' Wh-what's this? '> He said, probably not understandable since he yawned while saying it. He had not noticed the tail whip attack because of him focusing on teleporting away.
This abra sure was a lazy one.

<ACK!> Hermes suddenly felt a lot of fat on his back. He was crushed under the Abra's body. <Hey, get off of my fatso!> Hermes yelled as he wiggled out from underneath the Abra.
Zane nodded at Hermes. "Just Tackle." He demandded.
Hermes nodded. <Got'cha boss!> He said, before he charged at the Abra with a full body Tackle.

>Gah!< Abra was thrown quite far back, her ears and tail twitching to display her irritation as she used her Psychic abilities to right herself in the air, seeming rather bruised and battered after taking the Tackles. >You brute,< she said calmly, though there was a hard, unforgiving edge to her voice that suggested she was less than pleased with the Zigzagoon. Well, it was time to abandon useless evasive manoeuvres. She was tired, cold and bruised and she would get nowhere by running away. >Such an indignity...< she said of her own plan as she launched herself through the air, arms and legs flailing wildly as she tried to hit the Zigzagoon. Abra used Struggle.

Hermes jumped back in fear as the Abra started flailing her limbs around. <Whoa whoa whoa! Back up crazy!> Hermes said. He zig zagged around the Abra back to Zane's leg. <Gosh, what the heck is wrong with that thing?> He asked Zane.
Zane scowled. What a worthless Pokemon, maybe it was better off gone. He smirked at the thought. "Attack." Hermes bolted at the Abra in a full body Tackle, and when it was done he knew just what to do.

Abra's struggle had worn out the last of her reserves in energy she had. The tackle from the zigzagoon didn't help matters either, as she was slammed into the ground. With all of the tail whips, she was down for the count. She lifted her arm up like a creepy marionette, before lowering it, drifting into dream land where she didn't have to worry about her own survival. She was alone, defenseless, and the scary trainer could just do anything to her now.

Susumu was just walking around, minding his own business when boom. Trainer and a fainted Pokemon, right there. Taking out a scribbled on notepad, he flipped through it, checking in awful handwriting what his next mission one. Well, first official TD mission as an official member, if you wanted to be technically correct. This was it. "Hey. Catch that thing if you want, but after it, we're battling." He nodded towards the trainer with the Zigzagoon, a bit pleased that things seemed to be going well so far. Who would he use though? Jenna needed the training the most, and if she evolved, it would be awesome. Then there was Bo-Bo, and Yama too. Those guys needed to get their spirits up if they ever stood a chance at the Gym. Hey, he didn't even have to mention he was in TD either. Bonus. He hated talking about that kind of stuff anyways, since it was a bit awkward saying 'oh hey, I'm in this big evil organization'. That was a no. A big one. Fat and juicy. [/font]

Zane turned to find a teen behind him, apparently wanting a battle. Zane didn't really care, he was going to finish the Abra off anyways. He turned his back and pointed at the fainted Abra. "Hermes, finish it." He said coldy. It had no use in the world if it couldn't battle.
Hermes smirked, or this was going to be fun. Hermes growled and jumped at the Arba, making sure his meal was good.
After Hermes was doing his job Zane turned to the teen and nodded. "Fine." Was his reply. Hermes returned to his Trainer's side.

'...ew.' Susumu looked away in disgust as the Zigzagoon finished off the disgruntled figure of an Abra, despite her quiet pleas of protest. She was a weak target, so she was easily finished off. But it hardly seemed necessary, considering that Zigzagoons were mostly scavengers. Not meat eaters. Ethics and logic aside, he painfully shrugged it off. His fingers slipped into his belt, fingering through his selection of Pokemon. He had quite a few, but he decided on Jenna for the time being. She was tough. She was stubborn. And, he thought she stood a chance against such a merciless trainer. Though he had to admit, the Bidoof looked far from intimidating. Her abilities sort of sucked though. Ah, well. He could always switch out Pokemon. The TD mission said to simply beat a trainer, but he could try and be fair. "I guess you want a single battle. At the most, 3 Pokemon each. Sound good?" He asked, sending out Jenna, who growled at the sight of the Zigzagoon. Something about him reeked of flesh, and the sight of the dead Abra in the corner only supported her suspicions.

Dang, Zane should have caught the Abra. He only had two Pokemon on hand. This couldn't end well, that is unless he was able to have his Pokemon last two turns. He could do that, couldn't he? Zane nodded. "That's fine with me." He said, not saying he only had two Pokemon on hand. He threw out Astro and returned Hermes. He needed rest as Astro needed levels. The Staryu came out and stared at the Bidoof. He was battling this thing? Well this is going in his favor already.
