Flipping short red hair from her eyes, ever so eager to get away from the whining, crying Ranger who'd helped her capture her newest partner, Melissa surveyed the route with a raise of her brow. "Geez," she muttered under her breath, "Ain't exactly impressive, is it?" Though this question appeared to be directed to the air around her, it's intended recipient was revealed a moment later when a feathered head poked out from her hood, the bird stretching and taking flight to look around.
<The yard back home was more impressive,> the bird agreed in distaste after a few flaps of his wings. He settled onto his trainer's shoulder nudging her with his beak in a gesture of affection they'd developed when his wing had been broken, and she'd nursed him back to health. <So, who's the new fellow?> he wondered in a bored tone, having been asleep during it's capture.
In response, Mel pulled out the ball it had been captured with and tossed it, expelling a Sandshrew onto the path in front of them. The creature blinked slightly, raised an eyebrow at Melissa, and then shrugged. <I could really do with a battle,> he said, his tone hinting violence.
Lissa chuckled. "Soon," she promised the eager shrew.

A lone Seedot stomped through the Route, giggling as he stomped up clouds of dust and kicked dirt into the water, marvelling at the water changing colour from crystal clear to muddy brown. Quickly growing bored in the way only a child could, he caught sight of a tree nearby and decided it would be fun to try and climb it to survey the rest of Route One. Climbing up with his little hands, he reached the top after a few moments, and looked over the alcoves, clearings, dirt tracks and rivers that comprised La Premier Route. Oh look. A Trainer! Feeling a sudden urge to show off, he grabbed a long strand of lichen hanging from the tree and swung on it like Tarzan, letting out a gleeful, high pitched equivalent of the Tzrzan yell to draw the Trainer's attention as he swung by her, grinning confidently and adorably as he passed. ::seedot::

What. The fuck.Melissa cocked an eyebrow and stared at the wannabe-Tarzan seed, obviously not as amused as the Pokemon wanted her to be. She actually thought the Seedot was insane, and backed up a few paces in mild disgust as it swung near her. "What is wrong with that thing?" Mel asked her Taillow, who regarded the other with mixed amusement and exasperation.
Quake, however, was only interested in one thing. Without even pausing to ask for Melissa's approval, the Sandshrew rushed forward and leaped into the air, slashing out with his claws as he did so.
Mel was quite surprised, but she didn't object, merely rolled her eyes. "Cy, help him out, would ya?"
<Certainly,> the bird complied, ruffling his wings and then diving toward the Seedot for a Peck.

Seedot Hit by Scratch + Peck Not hurt too badUses Growth.
<Aww. You didn't like that?> He asked with a pitiful frown in his eyes, seeing that he somewhat lacked a mouth. He could talk, yes, but only through a tiny hole, seeing that he didn't have to eat berries like the other Pokemon did. His statement was proven even more when the two Pokemon went for (arguably weak) attacks on him.
Sadly for them, he wasn't all that weak. He won quite a few battles in the past, all with the help of his lucky Bide. However, he lacked any sense of direction in battles, and often did very random acts. Anything to whet his eagerness for fun.
<Oh! Hey! What if I show you a cool trick?> He responded as the Scratch attack scraped his body. That one hadn't exactly hurt, but the level 1 Peck attack did only slightly more, considering it was stabbed and super effective. The Seedot winced, but held in his breath as his body slowly began to grow in size. He used Growth, even if it wouldn't actually help him out in the battle.

Alright, so maybe even Melissa felt a little bad for the seedling when he was upset about her reaction. She wasn't exactly the nicest of people, but she did have some heart. Just... not so much toward other human beings, namely her family. Pokemon, though, they weren't so bad, provided they didn't annoy her as much. "Well, um, it was impressive?" she replied hesitantly. "I'll have to admit I've never seen anything like that before." Of course, there were plenty videos on Fail Blog for people who swung on vines that snapped, but this Pokemon had done it successfully. Which was arguably more impressive than the idiots that went viral.
Her eyes widened slightly in shock - she had grabbed Quake and was holding the squirming Pokemon in her arms to stop him from going after the seed Pokemon yet again - as he literally grew larger before her. This was much more hard to do than a simple swinging test. Hell, she wished she could grow parts of herself. She had an athletic figure, tall but not very curvaceous. Which sucked. She'd love to give herself some added... well, I suppose you've picked up on the gist of it, anyways.
Chuckling, she smiled at him. "How'd you do that?" Cyan touched down on her shoulder, ruffling his beautiful wings and watching the Pokemon with curiosity, not nearly as hostile as his companion, who was still growling and struggling against Mel's grip.

The Seedot tilted it's head. Was the Trainer...comeplementing him? <Oh, well I...> Then he stopped and narrowed his eyes. <Wait a minute...you're just saying that! Aren't you?!> Before he could get an answer his body started glowing a faint white. <Well, I'll show you!> He screamed. He started using Bide, now if they attacked he'd just send it right back at them after he got enough power. He wasn't that stupid of a Seedot, the flattery got them no where!

Mel didn't know much about Pokemon battles, as she was still a beginner, much to her chagrin. But she'd overheard her siblings talking about the move Bide - Annabel hung on to Josh's every word, and Mel was just a sneaky bitch who liked to eavesdrop on conversations. If her brother was right, as much as she'd hate to admit it, Bide took the power of attacks used and doubled it for a hit.
"Don't attack," she insisted to the two Pokemon. Cyan merely nodded dolefully, and she made sure to keep a tight grip on her Sandshrew, seeing as she doubted Quake would listen to the order. He merely wanted to fight, and that just wouldn't do.
That done with, she decided to try and reason with the irritated Pokemon. "I'm not the one who attacked you," she told him in a level tone. "Quake is, well-"
<Fight! Fight! Fight, fight, fight!>
"he's only young, and he's pretty hard to control." She rolled her eyes, holding the Pokemon out in front of her so his flailing claws didn't flay her skin into strips. "I think your moves are impressive, and I'm not in the mood to fight you." And, well, truthfully, she knew that she probably couldn't win. Her Pokemon were low in level.

The Seedot scowled. <How do I know you're telling the truth?> He screamed. The Bide was not going anywhere, no one attacked him really. He glared at the Pokemon and Trainer. <Are you a whimp? BRING IT!> He screamed. The Seedot was really a odd one for sure, it seemed ok in the begining but now, you'd probably just want to run.

Melissa sighed. Clearly, they weren't going to get anywhere with this nutcase of a seed. "Let's go, guys," she told her Pokemon, returning the struggling Quake to his ball before he could struggle free and attack the odd Pokemon. She liked the nicer personality of the seed, but now he was just exasperating her, and she calmly walked away from him. Provided they didn't hit him, he couldn't use his Bide, and that was just fine with her.
But would the nutty thing give chase? If it did, Mel would probably just keep walking. She really didn't have the patience to deal with Pokemon that deserved to be in a Poke-style insane asylum rather than hanging around the route.

The Seedot's screams and taunts were still heard as the Trainer walked away. Forever hunting her as she left him alone. Soon after he got what he wished for, a battle. But sadly lost aganist a Spearow and, well, you get the rest.
A Wurmple was up in the trees. She had a Oren Berry in her hands and she was trying to get down. <Oh dear, oh dear oh dear oh dear!> She said, she was trying to do too many things at once! She had the berry on hand, trying to get her legs out of some goo left by another Wurmple and was trying to get out of the tree. <Anyone? Hello?!> She called out.

Blinking in surprise as she heard the mutterings of the worm, Melissa glanced up at the tree and raised her eyebrows. Really? She seemed to be struggling with her load of an Oran berry, and she also appeared to be stuck. Geesh, someone was down on their luck, weren't they? She considered whether she should help it out or not, then decided that she had nothing better to do, and that the Pokemon would likely be killed and eaten by a less than friendly bird if she opted out of helping.
Unfortunately, her only able companion was the bird sitting atop her shoulder. There was no way Quake was going to do anything but attack whatever was in sight, and so she wasn't going to risk sending him back out. The shocking Pokeball wasn't exactly a nice way to go, but it was better than having to hold and scold him every five seconds.
"Erm, hey?" Mel called, hoping that the worm was a much friendlier specimen than the insane seed had been, "D'you need some help? Cyan could fly up and get you free." Cyan glanced at the worm and nodded. He wouldn't attack it, seeing as Melissa asked him to help, not have for lunch. Plus, Cy wasn't fond of Wurmple, anyways. He preferred Caterpie and Nincada.

<Oh? Are you sure? I'm not too afraid of birds, I suppose.> The Wurmple faced down at the girl and her Taillow, slightly surprised and glad that they had arrived when they did. First order of business then was to drop the berry, no matter how bruised it got. She made certain that it didn't fall on either trainer or Pokémon while she focused on the String Shot attached to her foot.
<It's quite the sticky situation. Those youngster Wurmples can be such pests, leaving their string all over the place.> She huffed, only occasionally looking down at the pair pitifully, hoping that they would rescue her like they said. She needed a good, hard tug to get her out of this branch, and she needed a safe way to get down.

Melissa nodded at her Taillow when the Wurmple agreed to having him help, and Cyan gave a few gentle strokes of his wings to lift himself into the tree. <Hold still,> the blue-feathered bird advised, <I'd hate to cause one such as yourself any harm.> And as sneaky as birds could sometimes be, Cyan was entirely genuine as he blinked dolefully at the worm.
Closing his beak as gently as possible around the female, Cyan gave a hard enough tug to free her from the sticky mess, then flared out his wings so that he didn't go flying backward off the branch. That wouldn't be very good at all. He steadied himself on the branch, then swooped down to the ground below and deposited his load with a friendly chirp of, <There you are!>
Mel smiled. "Here's hoping those young ones don't get you into trouble again. I know how troublesome kids can be." Specifically your kid brother, who was hardly a kid anymore, but would be eternally younger than Lissa herself, and that was good enough. "Here's your berry," she added, setting it beside the worm.

Grabbing the berry the Wurmple looked at the bird that helped her out of her sticky situation. She happily smiled and gave both the bird and the trainer a smile from her eyes. <Thank you winged one and you too Miss.>She was quite happy that she got some help from the bird and the trainer that decided to help her out. This was the first time the Wurmple have not been somewhat attacked by a bird, but helped. She was forever grateful for the assistance of them. <Good luck on your journey and have a nice day.>The Wurmple did not see any reason to stay anymore. They did not seem to want to attack her clearly and they did not seem interested in capturing her so she took her berry and left with the good feeling that the this day would be a bright and happy day. However something else was lurking in the bushes and was clearly staring from within a bush. It made some odd sounds and it also gave of a naughty giggle of some sort. It was odd, really odd. ::Wurmple:: Bids farewell and leaves unless further interaction is done

Melissa smiled at the Wurmple, and Cyan dipped his wing forward in a friendly sort of bow. <Cheerio!> the bird called in a friendly tone, already flapping back up to his favorite perch on his trainer's shoulder. "Thanks," Mel told him, running her fingers through his soft plumage.
Just then, a noise in some nearby bushes distracted them both. Cyan gave an alarm call, and Melissa stepped back slightly in surprise.
Releasing the angry and violent Sandshrew from it's ball, she nodded toward the bushes. "Go check that out," she requested. "Don't attack it, Quake! I mean that!"

Uh oh. The Rattata poked her head out of the bushes. What did she mean, 'dont attack it'? That never ended well. The Rattata jumped out of the bushes in front of the trainer and Pokemon and held out her paws. <Wait!! Don't attack! I mean no harm!> She yelled, placing her paws in front of her like she was defending.
