Nevoa guessed that it would be a double battle and only subconsciously confirmed it when Sierra started her "picking of the team mate"... Then again it could be who she would face alone... Fate confirmed her first guess though as she watched Sierra we do her picking when she landed on Soren. However, same results.
Her and Kai then? She could live with that.... maybe... If that Poliwag watched where those bubbles were flying sure.
Walking her short self to stand by her soon to be partner, she held out a hand. "Name is Nevoa, might as well introduce ourselves if we'll be working together..."
She'd wait for the girl to accept or deny the handshake before putting her hand down. "What pokemon do you have?" Might as well see what her partner had up her sleeve right? ♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪

The trainer had mixed feelings about the double battle. Though he felt more comfortable with it, he now had to cooperate with someone else. Sierra seemed to be taking care of that, though, with a rather... odd method. Soren stared at the girl blankly as she started to sing the catchy curious song. He would steel himself every time the finger stopped on him. He didn't know who he would prefer to be with, but this girl... he had been rather uncourteous toward her -- he hadn't needed to if he had successfully exited the park. A feeling of dread ran through him when her finger ended on him. Didn't the song go any further? Was she just playing with him now? It did not seem to be the case.
Soren put on the best calm face he could as he came a bit closer to his 'teammate', though far enough so he didn't feel as... short. Why was this girl taller than him? Only by a couple of inches, but this was just ridiculous! She closer he got to her, the more apparent the difference of height was. At any case, he gave her a slight bow of his head. If he had learned anything in the war, it was that teams should be able to work together.
"Sorry," he said, before looking at her again. He extended a hand at her before introducing himself. "Soren."
Seath looked at Ripple, still a bit uneasy. <It depends on my trainer. If he wants me to battle for him, I'd do it with pride. I'd just... rather not.> The pokemon looked up at her trainer. It looks like he was trying to appease to Sierra in his own, awkward way.

Kai blinked at Nevoa with some curiousity. She extended her hand caustiously, keeping a light grip as they shook hands. “Kai, I’m a fairly new trainer. Only have four Pokémon,” She was quiet, nervous about being judged by the other female trainer. “However one doesn’t listen all too well, and the other a friend had asked me to train. How many Pokémon are we going to use in the battle?” Kai dug her shoe into the ground, feeling awkward. “That was a nice song by the way.”
Ripple gave a sympathetic smile. <I’m sure it’ll be fine Seath,> He tried to sound as understanding as possible, but he didn’t think he’d be able to settle the Pokémon’s nerves.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n ; Sierra was startled when the man came closer, even more surprised to see that he was shorter than her. Perhaps she'd missed that aspect of him before, when he passed by her. He held out his hand toward her, and her reaction was to raise her own. She stared down at his, a tad befuddled, before lowering her hand to meet his. It was rugged, firm, as if it were a soldier's hand. The girl gave a small grin and squeezed the hand, shaking it politely.
Looking up at his face, she introduced herself in return. "I'm Sierra." She realized she'd been holding his hand for a little too long, and unlatched hers from his. After a moment, she offered a smile. "Well, let's do this!" She said excitedly."Let's show 'em, Seryl!" She called, ushering her Cranidos out in front of her to take his place in the battlefield. The prospect of having an actual trainer battle excited him - he'd mostly battled against other pokemon, who hardly knew how to strategize.

Nevoa smiled at Kai when the handshake was meet, good, that's out of the way. "It's cool, I'm fairly new too. I have seven Pokémon though."
At the girl's question though she was lost. How many Pokémon were they using? "I'm guessing one each...?" She didn't sound so sure though. Her face however lit up at the Kai's comment on her song. "Really?! You liked it! Thanks ~<3" A squeal of excitement practically escaped her lips but she help it in, no need to look like an idiot right? Turning her head at Sierra's voice, her brown eyes locked on the Cranidos's form. "Well time to pick your poison.... I'll go with... Tacet... Yeah." Pulling a pokeball off her belt, Nevoa tossed it into the air causing it to open with a flash of red light. On the ground appeared Mawile who was facing towards Nev. The back of the Pokémon looked much like a large, second mouth which might look a bit... intimidating.♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪

Soren nodded, acknowledging the fact that he had heard her. Taking out his pokedex, he quickly scanned the Pokémon presently on the field and prepared to also record what the last of the girl -- the one with the poliwag -- was going to choose. A steel pokemon, was it? He hadn't seen many of those, but they looked quite interesting. He almost wondered if there were steel birds out there, sipping through the sky with their metallic wings. He quickly dismissed that thought, though. Steel is too heavy in general. It wouldn't make much sense, would it?
He turned to look at his Pokémon. Seath... did he want to use her? She did not feel like battling, he knew, and since he was going to give her her freedom soon, and would have no authority toward her, there would be no point. No point in making her even feel the loyalty she had for him. Her eyes met his.
"Seath, return," he told her. The Pokémon told Ripple a quick good bye before walked back docilely, something Soren wished she would have done ages ago. He opened the pouch at his waist and found her pokeball and returned the winged wolf into the metallic prison. As he placed that one back, he picked out another one. He had debated between his Pokémon but had finally decided on Nayj. According to the pokedex, steel types were quite formidable to anything but fire types. Nayj was the only one that knew any fire attacks. He would actually have preferred being the last one to show his pokemon, but since his teammate had revealed hers first, it was only courtesy for him to be third. Especially in low-level battles. Respect and manners were important in Pokémon battles.
Taking Nayj's pokeball, he allowed her out, the blue cloudy-feathered bird hopping out. She flew in little circles and was about to land on Soren's head, her favorite resting spot, but the trainer held her in his arms instead. No swablu on his head in public. The Pokémon did not seem to mind that much, but would have definitely preferred the comfort of a head to nestle in. She did look around, though, to see what was going on. There were quite a few Pokémon out, and even more surprisingly, many humans out. She had never seen her trainer so... social before.

Kai overlooked all the other Pokémon, starting with Sierra’s small dinosaur. Her gaze shifted to the cloud puff of a Pokémon, Soren’s little Swablu, with mild interest. Her eyes finally stopped on Nevoa’s, with great interest. There was something about it that seemed vaguely familiar… Dismissing the thought, she fiddled through her bag for a Pokémon. Her hand ran across a special pokeball, and she grabbed it with an eagerness. “Time to keep a promise,” She muttered under her breath as she tossed the pokeball in the air.
As the red glow faded, a small cat like Pokémon appeared. The Sciet’s orange fur stood out the most in the night’s hours. Its eye surveyed its surrounding with some interest and disappointment. That is, until it noticed the Mawile. At the site of the Mawile the Sciet, Amir, became enthusiastic, bounding over to the Pokémon and pawing at its horns. He was looking for loose or weak horns which he might be able to lift off the Mawile.
Ripple frowned when he did not get to go into the battle. He plopped down at Kai’s foot, planning on watching the battle. Upon seeing Amir, Ripple’s frown turned upside down, creating a grin that spread from what would be his Poliwag cheeks, if Poliwag’s had cheeks.
“Uhmm…Amir? Amir, you should probably stop that,” Kai said stooping to her Pokémon’s level. “Syl would not be pleased if he found out you clawed off another Mawile’s horn, especially when you already have one,” She was lying through her teeth, but she had been hoping the Pokémon would not notice.
At the mention of Syl’s name, Amir turned his attention away from the Mawile and stopped pawing at its horns. He looked towards Kai with a growing curiousity. Where is his trainer? Why was he with this girl instead?
Having caught the Pokémon’s attention, Kai smiled. “Lets show him how strong you can be, okay?”

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n ; Sierra watched, bright-eyed, at all the new pokemon that she was seeing. The last one, standing in front of Kai, was one that she couldn't put a name to. Luckily for her, she had her pokedex, which she looked down at as it identified the pokemon. Sciet, it was. Well, she hadn't heard of such a pokemon - but that was even better! She had special knowledge now.
Pressing the machine back into her purse, she looked up and noticed that her opponents and partner were all ready to start. Giving a grin, she issued her orders: "Seryl, Focus Energy and Headbutt on .." She thought for a moment, looking at her opponents' pokemon to try and figure out what types they were. Without another moments hesitation, she identified her victim: "Amir." He seemed to be the less hardy of either, making him a good target.
Seryl obliged, taking a few moments to concentrate energy into his muscles and skull before taking aim and ducking down. Soon he began to sprint at the strange one-eyed creature, his spiked head heading straight at him.

Nevoa dug her pokedex out of her bag once more, pointing it at the two unknown pokemon. However when she pointed it at Sciet... Why was it pawing at Tacet? Giving it a black stare, she didn't know what to do. Tacet on the other hand took care of the situation on her own.
The Mawile, though mute, really knew how to put a stop to things. Shifting just right, the steel type positioned her horns just enough to the side that the next paw swipe would be crushed under the horn's jaws. Too bad it was just then that it stopped. If she could of growled, she would of. Instead she chose to bare her teeth at the... thing.
It would be at this time that Sierra attacked, luckily it was aimed at Amir since Tacet wasn't paying attention at all. "Tacet, pay attention. Now use fake tears!"
Nevoa commanded. Tacet nodded before taking a step turning towards the opponents, tears filling her eyes. She glanced toward the headbutt and started bawling, making it appear she was sad that her friend was being attacked. The meanies. ♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪

Soren quickly recorded the pokedex entry of the weird Pokémon that appeared on the field as well. All four Pokémon had been revealed and it was time to see who had the superior skill. His teammate had gone for the feline-like Pokémon with her Pokémon and Soren decided to support her. The mawile had started to cry, but if Soren knew anything it was that everything was permitted in battles and tears did not hold any sympathy for him.
"Ignore, Distract, Surprise." The string of commands had been given. The Swablu was still wondering how she was going to do this with so many Pokémon on the field. The command took a little bit to process, and by then, the fake tears had taken affect. She suddenly felt bad, though was unsure for what reason. Why was she feeling sad? Why was the mawile crying?
Quickly, she turned away but the damage had been done. Nevertheless, she let out a cute little growl of her own, cutely flying around as she did, hoping to distract the opposing Pokémon a bit. Without a warning, she then screeched horribly, letting out a startling sound, followed by a quick beat of wing to propel her to the cat Pokémon. Flying as fast as she could, she tried to surprise it and allow the Cranidos' attack to hit.

“Quick dodge Amir!” Kai called, but it may have been too late. She had been more focused on getting her Pokémon to stop pawing at her partner to realize her opponents had already sent in their Pokémon for the attack. She could only hope that the Mawile’s fake tears were enough to temporarily slow them down.
And they seemed to be. Amir was able to just barely bounce out of the way of Seryl’s attack, landing straight into the Swablu’s astonish however. The attack stung him, but being a ghost type of attack it was not as strong as it could have been. He pounced at the air, sliding to a halt a few feet away from the Mawile.
“Use Ember on the Swablu!” Kai projected her voice, the spirit of the battle taking over her normally reserved self. She clenched her fists at her sides to avoid being portrayed as one of those trainers that gives commands by pointing and talking with their hands too often.
Amir felt a sudden heat rise to his throat as he ran closer to the bird Pokémon. His small cat like mouth opened, spitting out embers of a fire, hot enough to burn a small shrub. Amir used Ember on Swablu!

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n ; Seryl skidded forward even as his Headbutt missed its mark, slowing to a stop a few feet away from his opponents. Looking back, he noticed the tears emitted by the Mawile. These tears, however, had a special quality to them - they caused him a horrible feeling of guilt and anguish. This caused him to pause for a few wasted seconds.
"Leer plus headbutt!" Commanded Sierra, eyes locked onto her intended target - Amir. Seryl gave a roar and proceeded to shoot a glare in the Mawile's direction, though it was a tad hard considering that he'd nearly shed a tear in response to hers. After directing the fearsome gaze at her, the dinosaur bent and once again launched his diamond-hard body at the Sciet. Hopefully this time he wouldn't be able to dodge it so fortunately.

Nevoa noticed that Soren and Sierra (Team SS) seemed to be focusing more on Kai's pokemon. This could be a good and a bad thing. While her pokemon cried and did her thing, she as the trainer tried to think of the best pokemon to direct her attacks at first. Her brown eyes watched the quick motions happening on the battle field and then spotted, and heard it. Kai was sending her pokemon to attack the Swablu. That would be who she'd attack next then. If they wanted to double team then they, Kai and she, would too."Tacet, your focus is the Swablu unless otherwise directed." Aka, when an attack is called always attack the bird unless further direction is given. "Alright, now use sucker punch." Brown eyes lit with determination, she watched at her pokemon wiped the fake tears with her arm before charging at the bird pokemon, arm titled back, ready to give the good ol' one two one. All of a sudden, Soren found his Pokémon being double teamed. Immediately, he ordered a retreat, taking advantage of the aerial superiority he posessed. "Up," he commanded, and the swablu beat her wings to follow through. She managed to dodge the ember, though it did almost singe a couple of her downy feathers, but there was no escaping the sucker punch. Her chest throbbed from the pain, but she did not allow herself to falter.
Tactics had to change. Soren watched as the cranidos attacked Amir. The ember had slowed the Pokémon down a bit and it would have been a good opportunity to attack as well, but with Nayj now high in the sky, the logical move would be to stay there and take advantage of the distance. His Pokémon would be safer, there. Unfortunately, there was also the Cranidos to watch out for. He did not want to cast any friendly fire with this next attack.
"Attack... now!" Soren commanded, extending a hand out in a sweeping motion. He wanted to time it perfectly to allow Seryl to get away. The momentum of the dinosaur was great enough that hit or miss, it was going to travel for a bit before stopping completely. That would leave it far enough so the heat wave Nayj sent out would hopefully be too weak to do any damage.
The swablu's mouth opened and the air around her warmed. She had waited for the signal before unleashing the wave of hot air toward the Pokémon on the ground, aiming to hit at least the mawile full on. The wave became larger and larger as it traveled down, the air shimmering slightly to indicate the path of her attack.

Before Kai could even get a word in, Seryl's headbutt impacted with Amir. The collision sent the small cat like pokemon flying literally across the battlefield with a distressed mew. Amir gathered himself with a growl.
Kai could see the little Swablu planning something big. As it collected the energy and heat to perform the massive heat wave. "Amir get out of the way!" She called hoping it was in time.
The headbutt had put Amir on the edge of the heat wave's radius. If Amir had been more attached to Kai and listened to her better, he would've immediately proceeded to dodge the attack. However this was not the case. Who is this trainer? Why is she ordering me around? His thoughts distracted him leaving only mere seconds to dodge the worst of the attack. The heat tickled the fur of his tail painfully.
Kai grew nervous. It was clear that Amir was the weakest on the battlefield; everyone seemed to realize this. All the attacks were being pushed to Amir, and only recently having obtained the small pokemon he did not exactly obey very well. "Amir, use Leer and Quick Attack on the Swablu!"
Amir didn't question the decision this time. He wanted payback for the Swablu hurting his tail. He fiercely obeyed, using Leer and proceeding to launch himself at the small bird pokemon.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra was glad no one targetted Seryl; he would've probably been out by now if that had happened. The Cranidos stood in his place, eyes on the look out in case a pokemon would try to sneak up on him. Sierra didn't think for too long before ordering, "Headbutt on Amir." The pokemon looked like he was about to faint, and from there it would be a simple two vs. one battle against the Mawile.
The Cranidos ducked his head, then launched his stiff, rocky body towards the cat-like pokemon in haste. ::cranidos:: Seryl|Male|Lv 7 Hit by nothing. Used Headbutt on Amir.
