Back in the mountains, Chris began his journey to find the doctor he had heard about. He desperately needed to see him about his condition and if there was any way to cure it. Mightyena remained in his arms, still fast asleep. He also served as a convenient source of warmth.

Mightyena stirred in his arms, opening one eye lazily. Ground below it was moving... Wait, how was it moving if he wasn't walking. Still half asleep, it's legs began to twitch lightly, and its eyes shut again.
Very soon, the path split into two distinct paths. To the right, a frozen lake extends as far as the eye can see. The ice looks solid, and there might be something at the end. To the left, a rocky wall to climb up, back into the mountains.

Taking the information he had learned to heart, Chris proceeded towards the mountains again. He knew that the doctor apparently lived in the mountains, so he'd have to carry on that way. Giving the Mightyena a gentle stroke, he smiled gently as he continued to move.

Mightyena stirred again. <Where am I?> It mumbled sleepily, eyes only half open. It gazed at the frozen wasteland passing swiftly below it, and relished in the warmth that came from the trainer.

"Ah, you're awake" Chris said with a smile. "Well, slightly awake. I'm carrying you right now. You fell asleep after I fed you and I couldn't just leave you at the Pokemon Centre. So, I took you with me. We're going to see a doctor about my condition."

<Ah> The answer seemed to satisfy Mightyena. It snuggled closer to the trainer, thick fur protecting it from the light puffs of snow that constantly fell from the sky. <I can protect you from other wild pokemon, too.> it murmured, drifting off to sleep again.

"Thank you ever so much" Chris smiled, continuing his path up the mountain. "I know you'll help me. If we can make it to the top, would you like to be a member of my family?"

It was already fast asleep. Ears twitched, likely hearing the question, but the Mightyena gave no response. It snored lightly.
Soon enough, a tiny building became barely visible through the unrelenting snowstorm. Perhaps this was the doctor's house...
ooc - You're going to have to PM me with what you'd like the doctor to say as far as his condition goes. I don't know why he has it or how to cure it; only you do. ;3

Seeing the building, Chris gave a large smile and ran to the door. Making sure not to disturb Mightyena, he knocked on the door and awaited an answer.

An elderly man answered the door. He was tall - almost 6'4", tall for a man of his age. He wore a pair of beat up glasses that had probably seen a ton, and a white lab coat that draped around his frail form.
"Yes?" He inspected Chris closely, looking for any injuries.

"Umm, hi" Chris said, a little nervous. "I was told that you lived up here, and I came to ask for some help. You see, I have this...condition. It makes me feel my Pokemon's pain, and vice versa. In other words, I get injured when they do. Could you help me?"

The old man paused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Come in. I have something for you." He opened the door wider, allowing Chris enough room to enter the building.
Inside, it was almost completely bare. Stark white walls, a tidy tile floor, a bed and a desk. The doctor walked quickly to the desk, yanking open a drawer and withdrawing an item.

Chris walked into the house, looking around curiously as he continued to hold Mightyena. His eyes fell on the doctor, wondering what he was taking out of the desk. "Umm, do you know anything about my condition?" he asked curiously.

"I was told by a psychic pokemon that you would come," he murmured, passing over the items. Two differently colored plates, each shimmering with elemental power. "A pokemon that sometimes comes to these mountains. It told me that a man would come looking for me, a man with mysterious wounds. You seem to fit the image I was fitted with."
He paused, shifting nervously. "It told me that you would be collecting plates. And that there's no cure."

Chris just seemed a little stunned by the two plates that he was given. But then his heart sunk when he learned that there was no cure for his condition. Wait, did he just say that a psychic Pokemon told him? Who could that have been? "Thank you" he said, not really sure what else to say. "Umm, can you tell me anything else about my condition? Can it get any worse than it is now?"

The man nodded, shifting his gaze to the floor. "I'm afraid so. The psychic pokemon told me that if it isn't deal with quickly, you won't heal at all, even if your pokemon do. You must collect all of the plates. Perhaps Arceus has a shot at healing you... It's the only way. I've given you the plates I'd found, scouring the mountains every day for new medicines for the people in the valley. And now you must find the others."
He nodded, taking a breath. That was a mouthful.

Scared beyond comprehension, Chris gave the politest nod that he could and thanked the doctor, heading towards the door. He now need to head to that lake he saw earlier, in the hope that another plate was hidden there.
((Umm, which plates were they?))

ooc - EYE WAS GETTING TO THAT XP The ice creaked and groaned under Chris's weight, but held together. A pair of Snorunt were playing a game of hopscotch along the frozen lake, each taking turns and laughing all the way. ::snorunt:: You've received Draco Plate Spooky Plate

((Sorry, I was a little worried about which plates I got.)) Chris smiled and let out Arcane all the way over the edge of the lake. After all, he didn't want to risk the ice caving in underneath him. Throwing the Spooky Plate his way, Arcane immediately caught it in the slot on it's body, changing into a ghost type. Now he was able to move through the ice without any problems. Chris slowly made his way to the Snorunt and asked "Excuse me, have you seen any elemental plates around here? Similar to the one Arcane here has?" The Mightyena was still curled up in his arms, so he couldn't really point.

ooc - you apoligize too much -pats- One of the snorunts, likely a female, cowered behind her male counterpart. The much braver male blinked, scratching his head. <Maybe. I can't remember the last time I went very far in that direction. The ice thins out the farther you go...> he told them, staring intently at Arcane. He'd never seen a pokemon like that before...
