By the time the moon had drifted down into the horizon, Silver and Near had reached the path to Electric City; one of the oldest cities in Cheyenne. Warmth was beginning to spread evenly over the dawn stricken land, coating it in soothing reds, oranges, yellow and even a pinch of sienna. The group travelled with their Pokémon out; some were resting, some were walking. Jake was lying on Luna’s back, while Janeway and Chakotay were talking idly about their old lives compared to what they hoped they’d see in their new ones. John was carrying a sleeping Jerome, but was talking to Racco. Silver was walking with Near, their hands entwined for warmth from the remnants of the cold.
The sky was filled with fluffy white clouds that darkened the earth and turned it grey. While the clouds weren’t hiding much light, they weren’t threatening to send rain flowing down toward them either. It was a peaceful day so far; no trouble, no noise, no... Chances of sudden random explosions that would signal the presence of danger, even if that was highly unlikely to happen... Moving carefully through rows of buildings was a feeling that made the two feel very uneasy; they were used to travelling over grass, weaving in and out of trees, but the buildings...? The buildings were eerie, casting thick, unnatural shadows over the street. They had no idea what was behind them or how big they were, which made it even worse, and to top that, the floor was solid concrete. They were used to moving their ankles around at awkward angles to walk up and down hills, through craters or holes, but this was just... Intimidating. Frightening.
They exchanged a glance which shared their emotions at that point, even though Near’s eyes were clouded with an attempt to conceal them. Today would be a long day, and that was evident by how slowly the sun was rising. Silver paused in midstride, pulling her Guitar from her back before she sat on a bench and began to play. Hopefully something – or someone – would come around soon.
OoC; Has anybody caught the string of song names for the titles yet? "Say It If It's Worth Savin' Me", "Someday, Somehow" and now "Never Gonna Be Alone"? <3
Anybody's allowed here.

As Silver and Near moved in the city they might have noticed a few things... For starters the city was bigger than route one, and with that also much dirtier. But the most important thing they might have noticed about the city was the large amount of guttersnipe pokemon there. One specific Rattata was looking through a dumpster for food when his mouth was filled with very dirty and smelly food. He had no luck finding more food as he heard a trainer approaching. Most pokemon in the city, unlike in the routes, weren't as scared of humans as much. They were usually safe as the trainers came to challenge a gym leader or the contest leader, usually they did not come to battle the pokemon and capture them. The Rattata was no exception. He quickly approached Silver and Near and asked if they had any food. He smelled TERRIBLE though... >Excuse me, do you happen to have any food for me to eat?< He asked. ::Rattata:: Asked if you have food for him. Note: He is a guttersnipe. He is dirty and smells TERRIBLE.

Near was focusing on the soft strumming on the guitar, thinking about training his Pokémon when his throat convulsed. This place reeked! How did the Pokémon stand it? Since Near was a Pokémorph, he had qualities that Silver didn’t, and unfortunately at that time, that included heightened senses. His muscles were tense and he turned, looking at the Rattata, and noticed that it was the Rat Pokémon that was also torturing his senses. However, he said nothing of it, and listened to the Pokémon as it requested food. It was breath was worse than smelling Pokémon dung! But, at the same time, it was horrid to see a Pokémon living in the city like this. It would have been better off in the wild, not here!
“Why are you living in the city?” Near asked patiently as he picked up the small purple Pokémon and placed it on his lap. He didn’t exactly want the Pokémon crawling all over him, but Silver would have his arm if she saw him refusing a Pokémon in need. Reaching into his pocket, it pulled out some Oran Berries and held them in front of the small Pokémon. “You’d be better off in the wild, or with us. Searching in the... Whatever they are,” Near flicked his ebony tail to the bin, unsure of what to call it. He hadn’t been raised in the city; he had lived in a forest, so common city terms were often unknown to him. “For rotten food isn’t good for your health. Your fur will be greasy and you’ll get ticks from that kind of thing.”
Has given the Rattata some Oran Berries. ...And advice to live in the forest instead.

The Rattata was extremely grateful for the food, but he had not noticed that his smell was bothering Near yet. >Thank you so much kind sir.< He said to the trainer as he ate the Oran Berry... He then heard him say that there were better places for him, like with them... or in the wild... He contemplated this for a second before he decided to take the trainer up on his offer... The trainer was nice enough to feed him, he no longer had to search through garbage anymore and that was always a plus... >Uh. I would love to join you guys if you would not mind. I am tired of eating rotten food also... But it is hard surviving here...< He said to the trainer. He was a bit reserved and a bit nervous asking the next question... >Um... would you... um... have a place... for me?< He asked. ::Rattata:: Asked to join you

Watching the Rattata consume the Oran Berry made Near feel a bit of satisfaction; but he didn’t show this to the Rattata, or to Silver in fact. He simply continued as the Rattata ate and thanked him for the food. He loved Silver but sometimes the girl was leading him straight into some problem or another; ones that sometimes he wished he wasn’t a part of. Suddenly the Rat Pokémon seemed to think about something; probably something Near had said, but his stomach was beginning to churn at the close contact that the garbage-dweller had him in. He was starting to feel sick; bile was threatening to rise in his throat.
“Of course we have a place for you.” Near said calmly when the Rattata had finished speaking. If he was going to have it, the first thing it was going to have was a bath! All of the grease in its fur and parasites that the Pokémon probably had were going to make the entire group sick. He passed a glance at his Pokémon – in particular, Luna, who was an expert on herbs. The look secretly told her that she was going to ‘de-worm’ this Pokémon if it killed him. “We help any Pokémon who need it.”
Near has accepted the request to join.

Rattata's eyes shined happily and his tail wagged. <Great! I won't let you down! I'll be the best Pokemon on your team!>the Rattata promised, padding up to near and rubbing his head on the boy's leg. Some of the grime on his fur wiped off onto Near's leg, but the Rattata seemed oblivious to that. Already quite attatched to his new Trainer, Rattata waited, expecting for Near to capture him inside those red and white ball devices.

Resisting the urge to cringe when some of the Rattata’s smell rubbed off onto his trouser leg, Near quickly pulled off a Pokéball from his belt and pushed it against the Rattata’s head to capture it. Conflicting thoughts filled his mind; he would have to bathe it, make sure it wasn’t contaminated with parasites or diseased – well, it was a Rat after all – and then he’d have to decide if he wanted to train it.
He glanced down at his trouser leg and wrinkled his nose, glaring at Jerome with a subliminal message, which the Pokémon seemed to get, even though he had just woken up. The Water type sent a spray of bubbles toward the slime, washing most of it off, and then returning his attention to the Pokéball. He hoped he wouldn’t regret this decision. Perhaps he would sell- No, Silver would kill him if he sold the Rattata to someone else. It was either he kept it with him or he put it in the PC...
Attempted to Capture the Rattata.

As the Pokéball connected with the Rattata's body, he smiled up at this kind Trainer...both of them. Hopefully, this wouldn't be any trouble...and he was going to work hard to be useful to his new Master. In his mind, he owed him everything for allowing him to come with them, off of these dark streets. The body of the Rat Pokémon was quickly absorbed in the red light and was taken quickly into the inside of the Pokéball. The red and white orb dropped to the ground and started bobbing back and forth a few times. After these few bobs, the Pokéball gave off a soft click sound. And with that, the literal street rat was now in rightfully in Near's possession. Capture complete! ::Rattata:: Name: Hok'ee Gender: Male Level: 10 Abilities: Run Away, Guts Attacks: Tackle, Tail Whip, Quick Attack, Focus Energy, Bite
“I name him Hok’ee,” Near murmured as he turned back toward Silver. “Meaning ‘abandoned’.” Recalling the Rattata from the Pokéball, he summoned Jerome over to him, who began to wash the little Rat Pokémon in water to clean off the slime from his fur. Hok’ee seemed to enjoy the attention and the soft water that ran through his purple fur. It seemed to be his first bath in a long time.
When the Rattata had been bathed, he lay beside John and Luna to get warmed up again, while Near crouched beside Silver and rested his head on his... hand-paw. His eyes were closed as he drifted off to sleep; Racco curled up on his lap, while Chakotay and Janeway were sleeping beside each other. It seemed the two were going to get on well. Silver picked at the guitar strings, leaving a nice melody drifting through the air. Perhaps something else would happen...

The world worked in mysterious ways... Whenever there is a happy pokemon, it is usually followed by a gloomy and depressed pokemon next. The next pokemon that popped out of the woods and looked at the two trainers was a Murkrow who became interested in the music. It was a good song to relieve her sadness as the Murkrow had just seen her and her boyfriend get divided into separate moieties. They were the closest, always spending time together and it looked like they would even marry one another, but now they are two separate individuals and no longer attached to one another. Not to say the Murkrow wasn't pensive though. She did dream of getting back together with her boyfriend eventually. Maybe it wouldn't happen, it most likely wouldn't happen... But she did dream about it nonetheless. The Murkrow walked around the town in a very gloomy state until she stopped near the guitar. The music was relaxing, it made her forget about her woes and she enjoyed just sitting there and listening to the song while it was playing. It was so peaceful. ::Murkrow:: Listening to your guitar play. Very gloomy pokemon. Just got dumped by boyfriend

Softly the music played, as the guitar vibrated slightly as Silver plucked at the thin strings delicately. The harmony that music brought was amazing, but at the same time you couldn’t understand it. It was almost heavenly. Silver had heard Guitar, Violin, a bit of Piano when she had first entered the city, but Guitar had been her favourite one of the three. The way it sounded was just amazing... There was no real way to describe it. You could pull so many stings, create so many emotions, and yet you’d never still truly unlock its true potential... She was in the middle of a song when she noticed her one-bird audience and smiled softly at the Murkrow.
But there was something wrong; its expression was filled with peace, but it still looked sad somehow, as though it was having problems. She relaxed slightly, making a space on her lap if it wanted to join her, and gazed thoughtfully at the guitar as she played. “Are you alright? You look upset,” said Silver, angling her fingers to play better. “Do you want to talk about it?”
Silver is offering the Murkrow a 'shoulder to cry on'.

The Murkrow was silent for a while, even though the human had addressed her. She simply looked on at the guitar as the human girl continued to strum them. But then, she suddenly spoke up. <...N-no, I...I don't think so....> she muttered, sniffling a bit. She wasn't trying to be cantankerous or anything...she just really didn't want to discuss it. It was just too soon for her. It only seemed like yesterday when the two of them had been first brought together by such a lively twist of fate.... She was very reluctant to be pensive about the thoughts anymore, now that the human had started talking to her. Sure, it would be just...perfect if the two of them had managed to get together again...but it was...just so near impossible at this point. But she had loved him like nobody she had ever been with ever before...it was all she could do to keep a tear from falling out of her eye. Declines and just continues staring calmly and listening

Hearing no response from the small bird Pokémon made Silver curious as to what was wrong; if it was a serious problem for the Murkrow, but she kept playing on the guitar. If the Murkrow needed time, she’d let her have as much as she needed. For a while, the only sound was that of her guitar, and then the Murkrow finally, but hesitantly, spoke. Her voice was filled with what seemed to Silver to be misery; it was a muttering sound, but vocally it portrayed quite a lot of what she was feeling at that time. Changing the song, Silver began to play “Never Gonna Be Alone” by Nickelback, and lifted her voice as she spoke once more.
“Well if you want to talk about it, it usually makes you feel better. I’ll listen when you’re ready.” She promised with a smile, observing the Dark Flying type. “Would you like something to eat?”
Silver offers some food and still holds the offer to talk when Murkrow is ready.

A Wild Pokemon Has Appeared !Something clicked in the morose murkrow's mind. She needed to blow off steam, and quickly. She could not be in this sad, pensive mood anymore. A distraction was needed. The murkrow looked up at the trainer, "Will you please battle me?" She asked, her voice quaint and quivering. She would no longer think of that jerk who dumped her! She continued to look at the trainer, her eyes hopeful.
wants to battle accept?

Silver nodded when the Murkrow asked for battle; if it wanted to, she’d call out some Pokémon to fight. Standing up, Silver placed her guitar over her back and called John, who arrived at her side immediately. He needed more battle practice anyway. As John moved away from Luna, she planted a lick on his shoulder and lay down again beside Hok’ee, her ears erect and waiting. John carried himself into a battle stance before the Murkrow and nodded in good sportsmanship – meaning ‘no hard feelings to who wins’ and opened his mouth before he ran forward in a bite attack with the Murkrow was ready.
Challenge Accepted! John used Bite!

Honestly battling was probably the best thing for the lugubrious pokemon. She needed something to make her forget about her boyfriend and this was the perfect haven in her opinion. She was happy to see a Growlithe battle her, and interested when the pokemon started off with a bite attack. The attack hit her head on but it did not really hurt her too much. The pokemon must have been in a much lower level than the Murkrow. She simply laughed it off, as best as she could as she was still incredibly saddened by the turn of events in her life. She flew towards the Growlithe and tried to pursue the pokemon with her beak. She wanted to hit it and do some damage on it, this would get her mind off of her situation. The field seemed to have divided into two separate moieties as she was no longer connected with the trainer and it's pokemon. Instead they were enemies now, and she had to treat them as such. ::Murkrow:: Hit by Bite. Not Very Effective. Used Pursuit on Growlithe [OOC: Keep in mind the level difference. I am at least 8 levels above you due to the level range of this route]

John was sent sprawling by the Pursuit move and slammed onto the ground harshly on his side. Wow, the Murkrow was strong! The Puppy Pokémon tried to get up, but his effort was wasted; his paws gave out beneath him and he lay on the ground. Silver rushed out, grabbed John in her arms before Racco charged out onto the battlefield and growled at the sight of John – who was down. He burst into a Tackle attack, aiming to knock that Murkrow out of the sky! How dare she hurt John!? Anger coursed through the Raccoon Pokémon and he leapt, his claws outstretched. If it hit, he would try to pin the Murkrow down, but if it missed, he... Well, he hoped he wouldn’t end up like John right now... -UNABLE TO BATTLE- Name: RACCO Sex: Male Status: Perfect health Moves: Growl and Tackle Level: 4 Has used Growl and TackleOoC; I am aware. I looked up the level differences, but as I read before, a Pokémon who faints gains a level, correct? That was what I was trying to do.

[OOC: Wild battle and member vs member battle are different.] The Murkrow felt really bad when the Pokémon on the field had fainted so quickly from an attack. The morose Murkrow just felt even more lugubrious after seeing a Pokémon fall. She hoped it would get her mind off of her personal life but it did not do that. Luckily for her, she had little to no time to react as another Pokémon was sent out and the Pokémon quickly growled at her and then ran right at her with a tackle. She was hit and pinned down which she felt she deserved for being so mean to the Growlithe and knocking it out. But she was still a Pokémon and her natural instincts kicked in. Although she was pinned down by the Zigzagoon she was still able to move her beak and with it she aimed it right at the stomach of the Zigzagoon. Hopefully this one would be longer so she had more time to get her mind off of the sorrows of her life. (-1 attack) Hit by Growl + Tackle. Used Peck on Zigzagoon. Pinned Down

Racco hissed when a sharp beak poked his abdominal area and he increased his grip on the Murkrow, though satisfaction flowed through him at the successful attack. Even so, the attack... It was strong, he felt his head begin to spin, his ears twitched and he stumbled before he retreated back from the battle. No, he was... He felt dizzy; weak, disorientated... What was happening to him? Was he going to faint, too? The situation perplexed the Zigzagoon and he growled, backing away from the Pokémon with his ears alert in case it tried to do anything. Suddenly he turned and dashed off back toward Near, and a third combatant shifted to take his place.
A Pokéball on Silver’s belt began to glow and shimmer, and suddenly it popped open in a flash of white that blinded even her. Suddenly the air chilled, and at first Silver thought that it was Jerome – but then she noticed him with John a few feet away. She didn’t understand; it wasn’t any of her Pokémon, and it wasn’t Jerome, so then what...? It burst out, hovering over the ground with a cold aura around it. Silver didn’t know how it had got inside her Pokéball, because she had never seen such a thing before. What was it?! It was clearly an Ice Type. As she pulled her Pokédex up, it told her everything she needed to know... Well, even though it was awkward using a strange, electronic device.
“Okay, Soyala,” Silver called, looking at the strange Pokémon once more. She had to give it a name, and Soyala was related to winter – and the... Strange Pokémon was an Ice Type, so it would fit for now. “Use Wrap on Murkrow – immobilise her!” But suddenly the giant Pokémon turned around, their eyes locking for a split second before it finally released an attack... But it was wrong. All wrong! A sharp shard of ice spun toward the trainer, causing a whistling sound as it hurtled toward her. Before she could move, it was already on top of her, and she felt something shove her out of the way just before it sliced a hole in her chest. She crashed to the floor, pain in her arm, but she got up to see Luna and Near blocking her from the Pokémon’s line of fire. Luna had used her Ember attack to melt the move before it could do any real damage... Though it wasn’t the ice she was worried about. Her arm stung like fire!
“You will do as Silver commands, Soyala,” Near growled, baring his Absol-like teeth in warning. “Or Luna will make quick work of you.” It was a bluff; Luna wouldn’t hurt anything if she could avoid it, but it counted on whether the Pokémon would take it as serious. Near’s tail fur bristled with anger and his slate grey eyes narrowed, though there seemed to be... some understanding at the least. However, Soyala refused to enter the battle, and Janeway – Spearow – flew forward with a wary look at the Ice type. It ignored her, and she hovered in the air slightly above the Murkrow with a welcoming smile on her face, and bowed with respect before her eyes sharpened in a Leer and she went into a Peck attack...
::Zigzagoon:: Has backed down. Weak
::Cryogonal:: Used Ice Shard on Silver. Disobeyed her order to use Wrap and to join the fight.
Currently in the battle
::Spearow:: Used Leer and Peck.

[OOC: You can't switch a Pokémon in and attack so I will ignore the two attacks. If your Pokémon didn't faint, the new one that came in can't attack. Ari's Edit; just keep in mind that 'unable to battle' also counts as 'fainting'. As in so weak that it's basically dead, but trainer doesn't want it to actually faint and will never send it back into battle.] A weird turn of events occurred which startled the lugubrious Murkrow but also helped take her mind of her own personal life which did her a lot of good. First the Pokémon she had battled was taken out as it seemed that her attack did more to the Pokémon than she initially anticipated. Then another Pokémon came out, one she had never seen before. This Pokémon though attacked it's trainer instead of attacking her. That was an interesting turn of events but she did not mind it at all. It was what it was. She was intrigued to see what the Pokémon was and why it disobeyed it's owner. Maybe Silver wasn't a good trainer? Then lastly a third Pokémon came out. This one was a Spearow who simply stood there ready to fight but had not yet made a move. The Murkrow smiled as she saw another bird out. This battle soon became one bird against another bird. "I hope you can last longer" She said to the pokemon, not in an insulting manner as she truly meant it as battling helped get her mind off of her personal life. She then ran after the Pokémon in full speed and tried to pursue it and hit it with her beak. "Lets see what you do against this!" She said. She was starting to feel a little bit better... Hit by nothing. Used Pursuit on Spearow
