What a boring and depressive weather winter was. The vegetation is dead except for the evergreens, the land is covered in snow, etc. Winter sucks! The pale boy sighed. At least it was more warmer than the horrible winter in Snowpoint City. Noah started laughing at the memory of that stupid Youngster who came to Snowpoint in only a T-shirt and shorts. The poor guy was sent to hospital since he almost froze to death! The boy shook his head in disbelievment. How can someone be such an idiot? Wearing shorts and a T-shirt in winter. The young male suddenly stopped and facepalmed himself. He's doing the exact same thing... The lad shrugged. He got used to the cold in his hometown and this temperature was nothing compared to it. Ok, it was a little chilly, but that's all. He won't froze to death at all. Noah continued walking forward, towards a big tent. That place was the Ranger Station; if he remembered it correctly, he'll get his first Pokémon here.

She peeked out of the front flap, eyes narrowing at Noah. The kid seemed like the perfect distraction for her crippling boredom.
Doing a cartwheel, the Ranger landed in front of him, striking a silly pose. "HI! Are you here for your first Pokémon?! Of course you are, what a stupid question!" she giggled, smacking herself on the forehead with her open palm. "Well you'll need these things!"
Two items were produced from who knows where and dropped onto the boy. The first was a backpack full of useful items, and the second was an odd-looking pokeball. "That's to catch your starter in!~" she giggled.
Ears suddenly heard something. She turned to face a mound of tall grass not far away. "Shhh, I think there's a Pokémon lurking in there~"

A ranger suddenly landed in front of Noah and striked an odd pose, startling the boy so much that he tripped and fell on his back. He staggered back to his feet, rubbing his sore back, when the girl started talking. "HI! Are you here for your first Pokémon?!" "Um-" But before Noah could answer the girl interrupted him. "Of course you are, what a stupid question! Well you'll need these things!" She gave the boy a backpack full of items and a strange pokeball. "That's to catch your starter in!~"
"Thank you very much. The girl was very sympathetic. She was very hyper and cheerful and gave him a lot of useful things too. He like people like her. "So, how will I get my Pokémon? Do I have to take a test or-" He was interrupted by the ranger again. "Shhh, I think there's a Pokémon lurking in there~" She was right. There was something in the tall grass. A rustling noise could be heard from its direction and it shaked sometimes too, but only slightly, so it was hard to notice at first. Noah looked at the woman standing next to him. "So, how do I catch that thing?"

Let me think now. How DO you catch pokemon again?" It had been quite awhile since she'd assisted on a capture. In fact, she'd only had one or two other captures, and that was back in ranger school. Crap!
"AHAH! You throw the pokeball I gave you! Aim carefully first, and then throw! I think, I think I might be able to scare it out of hiding~" She squealed, voice high-pitched and wild.
With no pokemon of her own to assist, she took off into the bush, waving her arms and letting out an ear-piercing screech. "COME OUT YOU POKEMON!"
Duskull was not impressed. It hovered higher, revealing itself, and shot her an irritated glare. She shrieked.
"OHMYGOSH ITS A GHOST AHH HOLY CRAP GET IT AWAY FROM MEEEEE~" Ranger fell over onto her butt, doing a backwards crab-walk in a fearful attempt to get away from Duskull.

The ranger started thinking. "Uhm.... Let me think now. How DO you catch Pokémon again?" Noah sweat dropped. "That's what I'm asking. Suddenly she let out an ear-piercing squeak. "AHAH! You throw the pokeball I gave you! Aim carefully first, and then throw! I think, I think I might be able to scare it out of hiding~"
The girl ran into the bush and screeched again. "COME OUT YOU Pokémon!" The hiding Pokémon floated out of the grass and gave an annoyed look to the loud human. The girl shrieked in an even louder voice than before. "OHMYGOSH ITS A GHOST AHH HOLY CRAP GET IT AWAY FROM MEEEEE~" The terrified ranger started crawling backwards and stopped next to Noah. He patted the girl's head. "Don't worry, I'll catch it so please, could you stop screaming? My eardrums are aching." Noah used the odd-looking ball on wild ::duskull:: !

She managed to clamor to her feet, and dusted herself off. "While you're at it, why don't you nickname your pokemon! And, yeah. I should probably get back inside."

"Sorry about that~! I'm glad you captured it, it was seriously horrifying!" Noah scratched his head in embarassment. He was not good with girls. Especially with cute ones. "While you're at it, why don't you nickname your Pokémon! And, yeah. I should probably get back inside." With this the girl left the boy and walked inside the tent.
"...Yeah, goodbye." The trainer looked at his hand which was holding his starter. "Hi, buddy. My name's Noah Locker. I'm your trainer and your my Pokémon." Even through the pokeball, Noah could feel the ghost type's glaze. "Now, what should I name you? Maybe the pokedex could help."
The lad started searching in his new backpack for the digital encyclopedia. He found it quite effortlessly and turned it on with a strange 'beep' sound. He pointed it towards the Duskull to check out its data. The pokedex started talking in a raspy, computer-like voice. " Duskull, the Requiem Pokémon. If it- " Noah slammed the device shut. He didn't need anymore info. Requiem Pokémon... Hmm... "I know it's not too creative, but I'll call you Requiem. What do you think?" The Duskull didn't say anything, maybe because it was in the pokeball or for some other reason, but to Noah it meant that the Pokémon liked the name. "Ok, Requiem, let's go!"
