::swinub:: There was a calm breeze highlighting the otherwise uneventful 'air' about Route 1. Patches of tall grass were littered ironically along the necessary road to the next town. Waru surveyed the area for any wild Pokemon, then released her newly aquired Swinub from her ball once she knew the coast was clear. "I figured you'd like some fresh air..." The babe-like Pokémon issued a slight nod before returning to her apple that was stuck in the Pokeball with her. "Hmm, you need a name. Your eyes look closed all the time. Are you nearsighted?" Waru crouched down and the Swinub looked up, letting out a small squeak. "Nearsighted... it has a nice ring to it." The girl grinned. With another small squeak, the Swinub latched onto an 'ear' on her hat by its teeth. Nearby, the cooing of various bird Pokémon could be heard among the trees. Waru rose, Nearsighted still hanging onto her hat, and approached the foliage. The tall grass felt forebording to the piglet and it held on for dear life. (OOC: Still can't figure out the poke sprite code oh god oh god. o-o edit: Got it. *fail* Also, was working on my PC as you posted. :3 )

OOC: Make your PC and put it in your sig when you get the chance. <3 IC: Near to where Waru and the newly named Nearsighted were was a small pond. Surskit of all shapes, ages and sizes loved to skate and play here because it was just the perfect place for a water Pokemon to live his or her life in total peace and tranquillity. For this show off of a Surskit, life was no different. This place was paradise to her. But she occasionally had to risk her freedom to show her acrobatic splendour to a passing human who knew nothing about her amazing water acrobatics. Skating on the water, leaving trails of white foam parting the still surface of the water behind her, she sent drinking Rattata squealing to the safety of their burrows as she performed a fantastic somersault, travelling through the air like a Wingull before the water bug landed lightly on her feet in front of Waru and her Swinub with a triumphant squeak and a bow. What a perfect jump that had been. Ten out of ten. ::surskit::

The squealing of the Rattatas drew Waru's attention and she and Nearsighted were lucky enough to glimpse the Surskit's last acrobatic move. She couldn't help but give the spider Pokemon a personal round of applause. However, Nearsighted caught a scent of something sweet. Something tasty. Surskits are known to secrete sweet liquid from the tips of their heads. The Swinub has poor eyesight but her tastebuds don't discriminate! The young babe reeled back and readied itself for a fateful leap, right onto the unsuspecting Surskit! "Nearsighted, what are you doi--?!" ::swinub:: Nearsighted used Tackle!

Surskit felt her pride swell at the applause. This is what she wanted! Yes! She lived for this applause. This feeling of being centre stage while everyone clapped for her and only her. Lifting one of her spindly blue legs to bow to the Trainer and her rather adorable little Swinub. >Thank you, thank you! I'm here all week!< Well... she was ehre all the time really. Not that it made a difference. She would leave one day and become a star in a Pokémon circus. She just knew it! Like the instinct to stay away from Spearow, it was second nature to her. Turning her back to return to her lake once again with a raised leg to show her intention to say goodbye, Surskit was abruptly tackled from behind by a rather overbearing weight (at least to the more light Pokémon such as Surskit). Turning around to see her attacker, she was shocked and horrified to see that it was the piglet who had been in her audience. For a moment, she thought he was a rather rabid fan wanting an encore, but when she saw that hungry look in his eyes, her own eyes widened in shock and disturbance as she wriggled in an attempt to get out. >Let me go!< she shrieked, squirming to escape. This piglet was a lot heavier than her first impression would suggest, but she eventually managed to wriggle free of the Swinub's bulk. At this point, Surskit could have easily fled. The lake was only a few yards away, and perhaps it would have been wise considering the Swinub's hungry gaze. But this Surskit was a prideful creature, and she was not about to let this swine harm her pretty little body and get away with it. Pulling the water naturally in her body up to her mouth, she prepared to retaliate against the Swinub. >Tashke thitck!< she exclaimed, the mouthful of water garbling the words as she sent a barrage of bubbles at the Swinub's tiny form. It was a pity the Trainer had to see this, but she had to keep better control of who she brought with her to the performance! Surskit used Bubble. [/B]

The trainer stood dumbfounded, not quite sure how to proceed. It's not like she had to time to mentally prepare for her very first Pokemon battle, but then again... what sort of preparation is there? It didn't help that this opponent was a Water-type. It brought Waru back to that day she plunged into the ocean, on the brink of life and death. The water weakened her, and now, her own Pokemon thanks to its part Ground-type. Waru could have ran. However, was she able to escape drowning that day? No, a winged hero was there for her. It made sure she was safe. She had to be brave-- for Nearsighted. "Nearsighted! Use Bite!" The sound of her trainer's voice seemed to bring the Swinub back to reason. (Of course! My teeth are quite strong... and I'm kinda hungry.) She shook off her soaked fur and made another dive for Surskit, latching her teeth onto the bug's head (while sneaking in a taste of her sweet syrup, of course). ::swinub:: Nearsighted used Bite

OOC: Careful, Edakade. That constitutes as mild godmodding.IC: Oh great. Now the Trainer was joining in on the merciless battering of this star performer? Her bright eyes narrowed to slits. Alright! No more Ms Nice Surskit! It was time to close the curtains on this debacle and exit stage right... or whichever direction the lake was in. However, this was a new move, and the Surskit cried out as the Swinub's powerful jaws latched around one of her legs as she moved so that her fragile head wouldn't be damaged by the bite. Wriggling free once again, breathing heavily in a combination of fear and fury, the prima donna's body became a blur as she shot through the air, eyes bright with anticipation as she rushed fort he Swinub. ::surskit:: Surskit used Quick Attack. (OOC: Must be mild because I don't see it... but I won't argue.)
The Surskit lunged with such finesse. She had displayed such skill throughout this whole performance, if one could call it that, however the trainer was too busy being afraid. Afraid of something so... petty. 'After all, we were the ones who started attacking...'
Before her determined Swinub could do any more damage, Waru grabbed hold of her tightly in her arms. The babe didn't seem pleased about being held back. "Surskit...!" Waru read from the Pokedex entry, "I'm sorry for lashing out at you! You're a very talented Pokemon... You really deserve some recognition."
Nearsighted stopped squirming at the change of tone in her trainer's voice. <Pfff, could you make up your mind? I'm hungry!> Her words translated as squeaks to Waru.
"I don't know if you understand me, but I hope you can forgive me."

( ooc the mild gmodding talis was referring to was you saying your bite landed and that swinub took some syrup just so you know what talis meant xD) Ha! Like she'd fall for such an obvious deception. Eyes still narrowed, the small bug type made no effort to escape. This girl and her piglet had already pretended to be nice before going in for the attack, and now they were trying it again? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. <Nice try!> was the surskits only response, another bubble attack racing towards the indecisive trainer. ::surskit used bubble!::

(OOC: Ohhh wow don't I feel dumb. o-o Sorry.) An "Aah!" escaped Waru as she reacted fast. She rolled out of the way, dodging the attack, the Swinub still in her arms. The Surskit's anger was understandable... however, by now, the trainer's guilt was amassing. "Nearsighted, we have no choice! You'll have to go for another Bite!" The Swinub nodded and jumped out of her arms. <Yeah, as long as you don't do anything crazy again.> The piglet took another dive towards the Surskit, jaws agape. Nearsighted used Bite

The Surskit yelled out as the Bite chomped down on her body. Her legs caught in the Pokemon's grip the uncommon effect of Flinching came in. She was stuck, flinched of fear she couldn't do anything. She tried to wiggle out of the grip and snarled. Great, just great. This wasn't going to end well, was it? The Surskit finally made one last wiggling move before she hoped she fell to the ground. Oh, it was so on.

This Surskit was looking for vengeance now. It was going to be dangerous. Waru was hesitant about using one of her few Potions, but her Swinub had already taken a great deal of damage from the water attack. "Here bud, take this before she knocks you into next week..." The piglet squealed at the slight sting of the Potion's ointment, but quickly felt revitalized. She sidestepped left and right and threw a few practice jabs with her stubby feet. <Hah, just what I needed! ... I'm still hungry, though...> ::swinub:: used Potion on Nearsighted.

<You cheater!>Surskit accused, jumping up and down and fuming. Just when she thought she had a chance of beating the gluttonous Swinub, the Trainer used a sneaky Potion to heal her Pokemon. Surskit, on the other hand, had no Trainer to supply her with a Potion so she was forced to keep fighting with all the pummeling she received earlier. <Fine, I'll do my best with a handicap,>the Surskit sneered, leaping forward. The Pokemon made some unnecessary, showy somersaults before shooting another jet of bubbles at Nearsighted. Used BubbleMood Slightly irritated.

"Aah-!" Waru shielded herself from any stray Bubbles. "You okay, girl?" The Swinub recoiled from the blow, then nodded. <I can take some more beating! Ms. Dancypants better watch out!> As the Surskit tottered idly on the tips of her feet, the Swinub snorted, kicking dirt to and fro. They were at the opposite sides of the spectrum of gracefulness. The trainer issued another command: "Go for another Tackle!" The piget squealed and made for another daring dive at the Surskit. ::swinub:: used Tackle

Surskit Ballad { Surskit } Weakening. Capture/Battle? (You do get a level if you catch it) Hit by Tackle Uses Bubble
The Surskit humphed after the bubble blow didn't do as much as she would've liked. Whatever magical healing item the Swinub had, it was better than any of the native berries that liked growing around here. She should've just went back onto the safety of the lake, knowing that he couldn't reach her there, especially after discovering a little weakness to water. She was simply too prideful to back off, especially now.
Bracing herself for another Tackle attack, she let out a high pitched cry as the attack knocked her down into a pile of icky, dead leaves. With a disgusted scowl, she shakily stood up, never feeling such discouraging feelings before in her life. Sure, all of the times she practiced her skating with no applause, that was extremely frustrating. The glances she would get when she would attempt a move successfully, yet mediocre, would nearly snap her mind into two.
Being attacked over a perfect performance? She would not have any of it! Weakly getting up, she managed to pull off another Bubble attack at the Swinub, but she couldn't imagine lasting too much longer in this match.

The Bubbles knocked off reasonable amount of HP, but the Potion guaranteed that Nearsighted could take another hit or two. However, in the state that the Surskit was in, this battle wouldn't last that long. Even she was starting to lose her finesse. In Waru's bag was a Premier Ball, along with her normal Pokeballs, that was given to her by a kind stranger just before she arrived at Route 1. She reached in and grabbed it. " 'Premier Ball', huh? It sounds like whatever I catch in this, it will be number 1... I wonder if Surskit would like that."Despite all of the trouble her and her insatiable Swinub caused, it wouldn't have felt right to faint such a talented dancer. Besides, Waru happened to like Bug Pokemon. The trainer stretched her arm out. "Stand back Nearsighted, I'm gonna try for our first catch!" She tossed the ball and it engulfed the Surskit in a red light, then watched as it fell and started wobbling... used Premier Ball on Surskit

Surskit, in her dizziness, barely registered that the Trainer had thrown a Pokeball at her until it was too late. Into the depths of the Pokeball went the Surskit, plunging her into darkness as the Pokeball closed shut. Being born in the wild, she did not like the feeling of being captivated. Surskit struggled to break out of the ball's grip, causing the Premier ball to wobble violently. But fatigue made her give up as she stopped struggling, accepting the inevitable. The center of the Ball glowed a faint red, signifying that the capture had been successful. Some time had passed since the new trainer's first catch. The events of the day had done a number on Waru and her Pokemon. They advanced through the route with what seemed like a good distance, yet with no end in sight, it was best to find a safe spot and unwind. Waru had since called her Swinub back to her Pokeball to rest, and the trainer herself was planted on a small hill that trainers often jump over as shortcuts. She was holding the Premier Ball which held her newly caught Surskit, Emmy. She was still beat up from the skirmish earlier, but the trainer lacked an endless supply of Potions. A trip to a Pokemon Center was in the future, but how long, exactly...? Next to the girl was a very jittery Silcoon, a strange behavior for a normally stagnant Pokemon. He was given to Waru by a young bug catcher who explained, "My mom says I have too many of these, and that they're making enough of a mess with their String Shots in my room already...! He's kind of a wuss anyway, so you can have him." She didn't have much of a say in the matter, but on the other hand, a new partner was always nice to have. "Hey, uh... 'Stan.' You feeling okay?" The trainer poked at one of the cocoon Pokemon's sticky points and he uttered some strange noises. She had to call him by the name his previous owner gave him, out of respect of course. Hopefully this awkward team would make it to town soon, for sanity's sake at least. ::silcoon:: Waru's team is taking a break~

You could almost imagine the 'clang!' 'clatter' 'clack!' through the grass, as a lone Bellsprout stood its ground against a ferocious Nidoran female. The little brown yellow green and pink flower Pokémon stood from it's opponent, a gangly stick in its hand as if it was a sword. The little wooden apparatus was almost bigger than it's wielder, as the little Bellsprout stood it's ground against his opponent, the dreaded ninja Didoran female. His master had taught him to be a formidable bushi, and this Bellsprout would be exactly that. As master Treecko had taught him, he would stand his ground. The pale purple poisonbarb Pokémon charged the lone bellsprout samurai after moment's of staring each other down, and the flower Pokemon's iaijutsu was as perfect as a sakura tree in bloom. As the poison pin Pokémon let forth her mighty tackle, he twap-twap-tapped, smacking the stick against her fiercely with a swinging skill known to some bellsprout as ' vine whip'. It was an odd sight, to say the least, and the little bellsprout carried itself as a roaming bushi, or a ronin. It was just missing the lotad style rice hat. Totally a samurai, used vine whip with a stick, hit by tackle.Used Tackle on Bellsprout, hit by Vine whip.

Waru could hear the sounds of a serious samurai battle behind her, characterized by the delicate sounds of sidestepping and slicing. She expected to find a bushido clad in flowing robes, grasping the hilt of his battle-hungry sword, facing off a dastardly ninja. What she actually saw gave her mixed reactions. Her Pokedex read: " Bellsprout's thin and flexible body lets it bend and sway to avoid any attack, however strong it may be. From its mouth, this Pokemon spits a corrosive fluid that melts even iron." "So not only is it a ninja, it's an acid-spewing ninja? Their techniques sure have evolved over the centuries..." Stan the Silcoon puffed out an incoherent noise (who knows what cocoons are thinking?). "Duuude, but Stan! How cool would it be to have a ronin as a partner? Maybe if you help slow that Nidoran down with a String Shot, the Bellsprout might trust us!" The trainer picked up the cocoon Pokemon, his eyes darted back and forth as a show of disapproval, but before he could get a word in, he had been launched into the air straight at the Nidoran! ::silcoon:: Stan, confused, shoots a String Shot at Nidoran female

The battle continued, and a few taps were hit upon the shamisen's belly as the battle tune continued. Thump thump thump thump, the Bellsprout stood its ground against the Nidoran for a moment, until a blast of string hit his pale purple enemy. The stick stood high in a guard position before this, but as the flower Pokemon looked away from his poison pin enemy and to the origin of the string shot, the female Nidoran brought her charge forward, lowering her body in an attempt to tackle him low and knock him off his roots. Even with the immense amount of sticky goop upon her, the Bellsprout's distraction allowed her to send him rolling backwards and make him lose his sword. The Bellsprout glared at the Nidoran female, nodding to it in determination, waving it's vines from under it's leaves, as if saying "Bring it on" with the movement. It focused its energy as it waited, standing stead fast; and using growth. <I shall not be defeated by the likes of you, poison mouse kunoichi!> the bellsprout tweeted in Pokespeak. ::Bellsprout:: Hit by Tackle, Used Growth. ::Nidoranf:: Hit by Stringshot, used Tackle on Bellsprout.
