Lisander grinned when he saw that the Zigzagoon was not moving. He had beaten the furry pest! Finally! <Heh, just to show him who's the best... Who is, of course, me.>
Oblivious to all of this, Jae walked over to the Zigzagoon and arched an eyebrow when said Zigzagoon didn't even twitch. The Squirtle had knocked the Zigzagoon out pretty bad, but that was to be expected. After all, both Pokemon had battled recklessly, mostly due to their own stubbornness. She bit her lower lip as she studied the fainted Pokemon, wondering if she should catch it. Zigzagoon weren't known as the best fighters or the strongest Pokemon out of the bunch... But, as a beginning trainer, Jae could see their usefulness.
The Squirtle approached his trainer, still grinning like mad due to his victory. His grin only dimmed slightly when he saw Jae take an empty Pokeball out of her backpack and use it to capture the Zigzagoon. Even so, that wasn't enough to erase the confident grin off his face.
Jae's team was growing. She needed different types of Pokemon - so far she had a Skamory, a Squirtle and this Zigzagoon - not nearly enough to satisfy her. Even so, she decided she had enough time to search for potentially rare Pokemon later. Plus, it was still her first Route. Most Pokemon around here were pretty common, like the Zigzagoon.
Looking around, she studied her surroundings. "Shall we get going, Lisander?"

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=2] Wild Hoothoot | [atrb=width,300]
A Pokemon stood on a branch in the tree. Rustling the leaves in the tree it tried to get a better look at what was below her. Its big eyes staring down at the Trainer below. <Whooo is here?> She asked. The Hoothoot blinked with a blank stare on her face. Her brown feathers looked nice and clean as well as her beckShe flew down from the branch and landed before the Trainer. <Whooo are you?> She asked. She had a sleepy look on her face, for being a night walker Pokemon she was normally sleeping during the day. But a bunch of Spearow were keeping her up before and she couldn't get to sleep again. <Whoo?> She repeated.

[ooc; just one question. what level is the zigzagoon Jae caught?]
Things were quiet for a while. Jae was feeling satisfied because she had managed to catch a Pokemon to add to her team and Lisander was just too happy over having beaten the Zigzagoon to strike a conflict between himself and his trainer. They had only known each other for a little while, but the Squirtle could tell that she didn't particularly like him. It didn't matter. It's not like he liked her or something ridiculous like that. She should be thanking him right now for having won that battle!
However, Jae didn't seem inclined to do so. Instead, she completely ignored Lisander as a small Hoothoot landed in front of her, looking very... Owlish. She couldn't understand the Pokemon, so Lisander was the only one to really hear the Hoothoot's slightly demented speech. He stared at the bird Pokemon for a while, but then shook his head. <I'm Lisander. And this witch here is my trainer (unfortunately), Jae.>
Meanwhile, not finding the Hoothoot interesting enough, Jae took a book from her backpack, sat on the ground and started to read.

You caught a Zigzagoon! Level: 6 Gender: Male Moves: Tackle, Tail whip, Growl Ability: Pickup The Hoothoot's sleepy eyes momentarily widened in surprise as the Squirtle dubbed his Trainer as a "witch". "Well, why are you with her then? Humans are not nice, and from your description, this human sounds evil,>the Hoothoot said, taking the words of the Squirtle too literally. The Owl Pokemon glanced at the Trainer warily, hopping a few paces away for safety. Rumors of humans who enjoy torturing Wild Pokemon have spread throughout this forest, and Hoothoot wasn't going to take a chance and risk her safety.

Jae didn't take her eyes off her book as she continued to read. She wasn't the least bit interested in what the Hoothoot might say or do, simply because she wasn't planning on catching it. However, she didn't know if the Squirtle wanted to fight it. Either way, there was nothing she could lose by stopping for a while now.
Seeing the Hoothoot taking his words literally, Lisander didn't know what to do. He could reassure the Hoothoot and tell her that Jae wasn't that bad, although she could be kind of harsh. It's not like he knew her very well anyway. He had only met her a couple of hours ago. The Squirtle shook his head, attempting to right things. <She's not that bad. I haven't known her for a long while - I just met her today, actually. She seems a bit harsh, but not evil. I just like to call her a witch, that's all.> He didn't know if he had convinced the Hoothoot and was surprised when a shadow fell over him.
"Come on, Lisander, let's go." The golden haired maiden said nothing else as she started to walk away from the two Pokemon. Seeing his trainer turn her back on him, Lisander jumped into action and scrambled after his trainer, briefly giving the Hoothoot a questioningly glance. Did the bird Pokemon want to follow them - well, him? He wasn't sure if the Hoothoot had been convinced about what he had said.

Wild Weedles! { Hoothoot } Left
{ Weedle } Annoyed Female
{ Weedle } Pleading Male
<Ah...good luck.> The Hoothoot stated blandly, knowing that the Squirtle was bound to have a lot of battles in the future. It wasn't something she wanted to deal with, so she simply backed off into the trees, not wanting to disturb the trainer. She liked being free and having control of her life, thank you very much. With a small coo, she fluttered off, making her figure hidden within the shadows of the bushes.
As for the other Pokémon in the route, something was about to go down. Further along the path, invisible traces of silken string blocked the way. Easily broken through by a motion of a hand, or just by walking into them, but it was still a rather creepy surprise. One had to wonder if they had a spider on their back after feeling such a thin webbing on them.
It eventually got thicker and thicker, where two Weedles were having one of the biggest fights of their lives. The female huffed as the male pleaded with her to come back with him, but she wouldn't hear any of it. <You're just a kid! Go away!> Her face was flushed a mad shade of red, while the male looked confused and frightened. As she shot another String Shot at him, he repelled it with a string shot of his own, trying to calm her down in the process.
