Amber stood in front of the building. She sighed heavily, alright. It was time to go and face the Contest Baby Rank leader, she was ready for this. With most of her Pokémon above lv 10 or at she was good to go, at least she hoped. She finally got up the courage and went in.
Amber pushed the doors open and looked inside. "Hello?" She called out. She walked around a bit more before she stopped at a window. Her first contest leader, this was going to be hard and she knew it. Her Pokémon were a few levels behind but it all came down on how well they battled and the types differences. If she lost she'd just try and try again.

Anthony was more than a little pleased to see his Pokemon back safe and sound, and was mollycoddling them with praises and food when a young woman came in, apparently for a contest. He smiled warmly at her, glad for the opportunity to do what he did best. He was a little rusty, but he was sure he could do well enough against this girl to give her a good challenge. His Voltorb and Nincada sprung forth, waiting for their Trainer's orders as Anthony smiled at the girl. "You can go first. Good luck. I'm sure you'll do great." ::nincada:: ::voltorb:: |

Amber smiled, it was finally time for her first contest battle! "Alright!" She said happily as she threw two Pokeballs into the air. Once the flash of light was gone two Pokemon stood before her. One being her new teammate, Percy the Buizel and Amber's first Pokemon, Fang.
"Fang, head to the Voltorb, use Poison Fang!" She called. Fang's teeth became coated in a faint purple color, filled with poison which didn't affect him thankfully, he charged at the Voltorb and attempted to chomp down on the sphere like Pokemon. While Fang was running Percy came up behind him for cover, hopefully covering himself from view of the Nincada. "Use Water gun!" Percy jumped from behind the protection of Fang and shot the blast of water at the Nincada.

Contest Number Uno  
Anthony liked the way this girl started off! She was ready to fight right away and wasn't afraid to go all-out! He balled his hands into fists and got really hyped! Light took the Poison Fang as best as she could but it was painful. She spun around in a circle but then suddenly stopped and glared at the Poochyena. The Water Gun also hit Flash and it hurt; he was weak to Water-type moves.
"Light, use Charge and then Spark on Fang! Flash, use Sand-Attack and then Leech Life to gain back health! Actually, you both switch targets!!" ordered Anthony. He spoke with such speed that it almost sounded like a song on fast forward. He was bouncing around in place which almost looked like he had to go to the bathroom. Light spun around in place slowly at first but began to rotate faster and faster as electricity began to surge through her body. The static electricity almost sounded like the building was filled with susurrous, mechanical whirring. She then released all of her electricity as she launched herself at Percy like a top as fast as she could. Flash quickly closed in the distance between himself and Fang and hurled a thick cloud of sand towards him. He then rushed in to try to bite down on any body part of the Poochyena he could to start draining health. There was no room for galumphing for either of Anthony's Pokemon because all they've known all their lives was speed.
- Flash was hit by Water Gun! It was super-effective!
- Flash used Sand-Attack and then Leech Life on Fang!
- Light was hit by Poison Fang!
- Light used Charge and then Spark on Percy!

Amber had to think on her feet and fast. If that Spark hit Percy wouldn't last long, then she had an idea. "Quick dodge it!" She called to Percy. He thankfully dodged it just in the nick of time, as the ball kept rolling Amber had another idea. "Use Water Gun on the floor!" She said. Percy tilted his head but followed his orders, he shot a blast of Water on the ground. Amber had hoped that the Voltorb would slip and ram itself into the wall instead of Percy.
Sadly for Fang, the Leech life hurt rather badly. He howled in pain and jumped back only to get sand in his eyes. He closed his eyes and shook his head, now he knew how his sand-attack felt to others. "Fang, glide on the water! Use Ice Fang!" Amber cried. Fang shook his head and hopped on the wet floor, it was slippery and he slid in seconds. How he stayed on all four paws was unknown to him, he tried to slide into the Nincada and bite down on its body with his icy fangs.

 Baby-Rank Leader Anthony !Anthony was surprised at the girl's quick thinking, rivaling even his. However, he had a reputation for being the fastest, as did his Pokémon. He would not stand to let her win in this contest of skill over power.
The Voltorb slowed down a bit as she rolled beneath the Buizel's downward cascade of water, managing to only bump against the wall as she turned to look up at the otter. "Spark on the line of water!" Commanded Anthony, thinking quickly. Liquid was a good conductor of electricity, allowing the spark to be transferred to the sopping-wet Poochyena. A glint in her eye, the red and white orb rolled over to the puddle of water and sparked it, causing it to meld with the electricity. If Anthony's plan worked, the energy would trail over to the dark-colored hound and zap it. Sure he was repeating a move, but it was necessary in order to generate beauty.
It was wise of the Poochyena to use the water to his advantage. Flash was fast, but not fast enough to evade a sliding dog that was so near him. The iced fangs clamped into his hard shell, freezing instantly. The insect could feel the life being sapped from him by so many effective attacks. However, he still had some life in him. Anthony, pretending he had some prescience of the Nincada's weakness, now prepared for the insect to at least go out with a bang. "Harden, then Scratch!" The harden would likely hurt the pooch's teeth and make it harder for him to release the bug. Obeying with gusto, Flash hardened his body. Then, reaching out with his glistening claws, he attempted to rip across the golden hound's dark maw.

Fang's eyes widened, when the Nincada used Harden his teeth were still in its shell. He shook his head to try and shake it off but it wouldn't. And the taste of bug wasn't really nice...
Amber had to think, the Nincada was stuck in Fang's mouth while the Sparky was heading right towards Fang from the water. Then, she got an idea. "Fang, move your head!"
Fang didn't get it but moved, thank goodness he did. Because the Nincada was stuck in his teeth, when he moved it the Nincada took the Spark instead of him, being a half bug and half ground type he acted like a conductor. Fang finally spit the bug out of his mouth and stuck his tongue out. <Wash yourself next time, yuck...> He said. Then, he felt the affects from the leech life, he snarled as his energy was sucked around.
"Percy, SonicBoom on the Nincada! Fang, Poison Fang on the Voltorb!" Amber called out. Percy jumped in the air and swung his tail around, causing a SonicBoom to fly at the Nincada. Fang jumped away and tried to sink his teeth into the Voltorb, his fangs filled with poison he tried to chomp the round pokeball look-a-like.

As his Nincada took the Spark, utterly negating it, Anthony's eyes narrowed. This girl was certainly a clever one, and the instinct was a form of art that would win her points in a public contest. And then the Buizel sent forth a Sonicboom, blasting the Nincada right out of the Poochyena's mouth with a pained shriek, the precision strike enough to take down the last of his energy and leave him lying motionless on the ground. Returning the Ground/Bug Type to his Pokeball wordlessly, he pulled out another Pokeball as the Voltorb dodged the closing fangs of the Poochyena, but then refrained. No. Let the Voltorb finish his job, and then send out another two. "Spin in the water and use Spark!" demanded Anthony, and the Voltorb obeyed, leaping into a pool of water and spinning rapidly, white energy generated by the friction giving way to blue electricity which scattered wildly, sparks flying at the Buizel and the shiny Poochyena alike. ::nincada::
Fainted. Fang and Percy gain half a level.

Fang and Percy were unaware of the incoming Spark, Amber noticed it all too late. Percy and Fang lit up like Christmas trees, Percy instantly fainted from the super effective attack but Fang managed to stay in the game, not for long bu at least to take out the last one.
Amber returned Percy to his Pokeball. "Great job." She said before placing him away. She then pulled out another one, a old friend of hers. "Come on, Stings!" As she threw the Pokeball out, in a matter of seconds a Beedrill floated in the air. Her stingers ready she was itching to battle.
Amber smirked. Fang and Stings made a great pair, even in contest battles. "Alright, use Fury Attack!" She commanded the bee like Pokémon. Fang did nothing, trying to rest himself before the next pair of Pokémon came out. Stings flew in at the Voltorb, she tried jabbing at it repeatedly in a Fury Attack.

Baby Rank Leader Anthony ! Anthony suddenly realized he had not four pokemon, but three, and not tossing out his prized Diglett that turn would have been a mistake. Clenching his teeth, he unleashed Thun, who glared at the two opponents with confidence in his eyes. His brown coat was well groomed, his underground claws ready to tear up the dirt.
Amber sent out a Pokémon of her own to replace the one who had just fainted. Good; it was an even battle, and an intense one at that. As soon as the Beedrill came forward, Anthony knew it would hit hard - and it did; Light gave a buzzing of pain as the claws hit not twice nor thrice, but four times, nearly denting his polished shell. "Magnet Rice, Light, then Sonicboom!" Anthony commanded.
The pokeball-like Pokémon panted with pain, but knew his trainer's quick thinking was not one to be challenged. He gathered his power and concentrated the ions in the air, causing himself to levitate from the force. At a height above the Beedrill, the bicolored sphere aimed downward and launched a series of shock waves down at him.
Thun was ready to play. "Sand Attack and Astonish, Thun." Commanded Anthony. A light seemed to reflect from the diglett's dot of an eye at that moment, and without further ado he plunged into the ground and burrowed straight for the idle shiny poochyena. Popping out of the ground, he both sent up a wave of sand at him and launched himself quickly at the pooch in the same motion. Hopefully the duo of attacks would stun, if not dazzle, their foes.

Stings crossed her stingers together as the Sonicboom hit, she was thrown back in the air but managed to keep herself airborne. She buzzed loudly and waited for Amber's command.
Fang howled in surprise as he was attacked by the Diglett, luckily for him he saw the incoming sand and jumped at the last second. Though, the Astonish caught him off guard, he howled weakly at the sight. <Do you always look like that?> he asked the Diglett.
Amber readied herself. "Alright, Stings! Use Poison Ball!" Stings knew exactly what Amber wanted, she shoot a String Shot into the air, making it roll up and become a ball before letting it drop to the ground. She then shot it repeatedly with Poison Sting, causing it to turn a odd purple. But then, a problem arose. The Voltorb was in the air while the Poison Ball was on the ground. Amber gritted her teeth, time to take a chance. "Fang, hit it!" Fang nodded and jumped above the Diglett. He then took the ball and whacked it with his back feet, sending it towards the Voltorb.

"Hahaha? Poison Ball? Reach Light? What are you doing, making up silly things like that?" Anthony laughed obnoxiously as he placed his hands on both hips, thinking that the limp ball on the ground wouldn't even be able to touch his Voltorb. The thin weave of poisonous string shot gave it a purple taint, but it didn't appear to be a threat of any kind. Then the Poochyena practically falcon kicked it straight up into the air, making his mouth drop as his Voltorb floated in the empty air, not expecting the strike to actually hit her. Electricity cackled from her body in protest, but suddenly it died off when the poison took effect, giving her body an eerie purple glow every turn.
"Pick it up! Faster fast fast fast go left and boom it!" Anthony chanted, stepping back and forth rapidly as he thought of which commands he wanted to use. The floating Voltorb hissed from the damage from both of the attacks, but managed to hang in for one more turn. A miracle of a higher level, maybe. She hissed as her body began to rotate in super fast circles, becoming a blur as a wave of sound shot at the Beedrill making ripples in the air as it approached the bug type.
"Boom on the ground! Booms everywhere! Fantastic fun!" Anthony exclaimed, panting from all of his shouting. Thun got the idea and make the ground rumble, which managed to kick up some of the rocks on the ground in an attempt to hit any non flying type that didn't have immunity to ground type moves.

Stings crossed her stingers once again and the Sonicboom was a more powerful one, it knocked her to the ground. She skidded across the ground and landed hard on the ground. She shook her head and buzzed louldly at the Voltorb.
Fang noticed his partner was down and rushed over to see if he could help when the ground started shaking violently. <Whoooa!> Fang tripped and fell hard on the ground, knocking himself into the Beedrill. The two were hit by the ground Pokemon's attack. Stings came out of it ok, fluttering her wings to get airborne again. She buzzed loudly at the Voltorb and was getting ready to attack. Fang on the other hand wasn't so lucky. He had taken much damage as it was, he laid on the ground howling quietly.
Amber smiled and returned Fang to his Pokeball. "Good job, Fang. Take a nice break." She placed his Pokeball away and grabbed another one to take Fang's place. She threw it into the battlefield and within seconds, a Duskull floated in the air. However, this wasn't a normal Duskull. It was red instead of grey, Curse hovered in the air and howled in a eerie way.
"Stings, use String Shot!" Amber called out. Stings nodded, thinking she was using the same combo again made three small sting balls to shoot with Poison Shot, however, Amber had a different idea in mind. "Throw them and use Fury Attackk!" Stings blinked but did as she was told. She threw the balls in the all and her stingers began glowing. She jabbed each of them, making them fly at the Voltorb in the air. "Curse, use Leer and then Night Shade!" Curse disapeared into the ground and came up by the Diglett. She made a scary face at him, trying to lower his defense. Then, her eyes became a eerie black color and her image lifted into the air with a black coat. Using Night Shade, she was trying to attack the Diglett.

Baby Rank Leader Anthony ! Anthony grinned as he heard her command the bug to use String Shot again. "Get ready to dodge, Flash." He said quickly. The levitating Voltorb nodded and braced himself, readying for what she thought would be a single projectile. However, she then commanded for a Fury Attack. "Quick!" Anthony shouted, realizing that it was a wave of balls rather than just one. However, the command was lost to the floating ball, who was struck by most of the balls even as she attempted to float out of the way. Her body sparked and her eyes dimmed before her spherical body fell gently to the ground. Anthony grimaced before recalling Flash, giving the ball a kiss before clasping it back to his belt.
Thun was surprised at the ghost's sudden disappearance, looking around every which way before suddenly he turned and saw the most awful face he'd ever seen. He burrowed into the ground in fear, managing to just barely dodge the coming Night Shade. Anthony grinned; this brazen girl would get her dues for embarrassing his two other pokemon. "Scratch the Beedrill!" He commanded.
The mole had an affinity for hearing and was able to hear the trainer's order from underground. The mole looked up to see where the Beedrill was, then popped just as quickly back into the hole. The ground piled up in his path as he dug towards the insect. It stopped when he believed he was beneath the bee. Then, all of a sudden, the mole pokemon launched himself out of the hole and attempted to rake at the insect with his shining claws.

Stings watched as the Voltorb fell to the ground. She buzzed happily and punched the air with her stinger. Though she was a quite Pokemon now didn't mean she couldn't battle. She was quite proud of herself as well, coming from a Weedle to beating so many Pokemon. However, because she was watching the Voltorb go down she lowered herself to the ground. That's when the attack came on, she was hit by the Diglett that just seemed to pop out of no where. She was knocked to the ground and landed with a thud. She shook her head and got back in the air carefully. The Diglett was a fast Pokemon, she knew this much. She oughta be more careful next time when dealing with one.
Amber smiled. "Yes! One more down!" She said. She glanced at her two Pokemon. Curse wasn't a good Pokemon now to go up against a Diglett, with only knowing one move that could affect it. It was good to get a feel of how she worked though. "Good job, return." She said, pulling out her Pokeball and recalling the Duskull. She then picked another Pokeball and threw it onto the field. Within a matter of seconds a new Pokemon stood on the field. Dewy, the new Pokemon, was standing on the gorund. He barked happily, thinking he was getting to play when he noticed this wasn't a play ground, this was a battlefield. His face grew pale as he whimpered, he was gonna get beaten by a Pokemon!
"Stings, use String Shot and Fury Attack once more!" Amber cried out. Stings went into action, but did something different. She shot the string at the Diglett's eyes instead. Hoping to get some cover before flying in to jab at the Diglett. Her stingers glowed a faint white as she jabbed at the small Pokemon.

"Agh! Agh! Agh! I can't believe that we have to repeat moves! Thun, why didn't you remind me to buy you those TMs?!" Anthony shouted as he thought about what to do for this next turn in the contest. His striped shirt made him resemble a somewhat hyper tiger that pranced around in the same spot, kicking up dust from his mini speedy tantrum. "Ok, I'm over it." He said smoothly, a spark in his eyes as he rubbed his chin.
<S-Sorry?> Thun responded hesitantly, unable to glance at his trainer with the scary Beedrill diving right towards him. Eyes were glued on what attack it was going to use next, but a thin layer of String Shot caught him by surprise, and even if it was a thin layer, it managed to slow him down somewhat. Then the Fury Attack came, and by the third strike of those nasty daggers, he had dived back under ground for cover, before reappearing a safer distance away.
"A switch? How many Pokemon do you think I have?! Awww, I knew I should've set some house rules. Thun! Why didn't you remind me to do that?!" He shouted, though the Diglett hadn't been out at the very beginning of the fight. The ground type sweatdropped as it tried to pay attention to its opponents. A Seal and a Beedrill? Both pretty threatening, at least to him. His soft brown fur was starting to become messed up from all of the ground travel, and scratches were visible on his body, much like a warrior in a battle.
"Ok, get everyone's attention with your Growl! Come on, everybody!" Anthony started clapping his hands with enthusiasm, while the Diglett began growling in sync with his trainer's claps. Both had rhythm while Thun carried a bit of a melody with his growls and chirps, which was meant to lower the attack of both Dewy and Stings. "Now Thun! Astonish!" No target was made clear, but the Diglett knew that the Beedrill was the one with the most damage, just by looking at it. He dove back underground, digging near the Beedrill's position before reappearing, letting out a frightening cry.

Stings blinked at the argument between the Diglett and his trainer. She rubbed the back of her head, wondering what all of that was about. She then heard the Growl of the Diglett and covered her ears with her stingers. Buzzing around, she didn't notice the Diglett coming at her. The face it made when it attacked, she was stunned. Flinching, she couldn't move.
Amber gritted her teeth. Not only was Anthony's Pokemon fast but so was his mouth... "Dewy, looks like its up to you! Use Iron Tail!" She commanded. Dewy was uncertain this would work. He crawled his way to the Diglett and stared at him. <Uh, sorry!> He cried out. His back tail fin began glowing, he then turned around quickly and lifted his tail up. He then smashed it down, hoping to whack the Diglett.

An Iron Tail from something as puny as that?! Holy crap! Anthony blanched as the dazzling Iron Tail slammed down on Thun, drawing a cry of shock and pain from the mole as he was slammed back into his hole like a carnival attraction. You could practically hear the victory bells ringing for the attacking Seel. But Thun wasn't done yet... was he? "Thun? Thun?!" shrieked Anthony. "Get back here!" The need to knock out at least one of Amber's Pokemon was paramount, and the poor Diglett, whose desire to just sleep was prevalent, couldn't quite give into the darkness just yet. Springing to the surface without even a full order from Anthony, the mole unleashed loud red waves from his mouth, which spread out, concentrated solely on Stings. ::diglett::

Amber covered her eyes, hoping that this wouldn't turn out bad for her. Stings had taken the hit, though she crossed her stingers to make the attack a slight bit weaker. Probably saving her hind stinger. She then flattered out of the sky and dropped to the ground. She was able to stay a few feet above air though.
Amber peeked her head out and sighed heavily. "Oh good, let's go Stings!" She cried out. Dewy yelped and then jumped backwards from the Diglett. He was frightened by by the Diglett and covered his eyes. "Dewy, Iron tail! Stings, Fury Attack!"
Though, it was not meant to be a combo attack somehow it turned into something. Dewy yelped as Stings came up behind him. When she had used Fury Attack she had whacked Dewy by mistake instead of the Diglett. Dewy flew at the Diglett at speed and turned himself. His glowing tail heading towards the Diglett he yelped, hoping this wouldn't hurt him too!

The Diglett watched the Fury Attack hit the Seel, and suddenly doubled up in laughter, giggling inanely as the Seel hopped about, little hiccups escaping his mouth between breaths. Unfortunately, that made him unaware of that very same Seel moving in for the knockout. As the steel type attack slammed into him, he let out a little gasp of pain, then slipped from consciousness with a pained squeak as all awareness faded from his mind. "Thun!" yelled Anthony. "Thun! But it was no use. The Diglett was out cold. The crowd roared at the end of the battle.
