With his Komatana and Meowth by his side, he sauntered up to the registration desk with a cocky smirk on his face.
"Yeah, I think you've heard correctly," he said to no one in particular. A mother covered her child's eyes as he did a series of thrusts and vibrations that would have been illegal in 8 countries. "I'm here to challenge that pathetic gym leader. Where is she, darling?"
The receptionist shrugged, pointing down a long hallway that opened into the arena. Syl licked his lips. He could taste victory.
He burst into the arena like a wildfire, Cyle and Kam hanging off either leg, and shouted: "COME AT ME BRO!"

Gym Leader Adrian { Cat } Level 11 Fake Out on Meowth
{ Rat } Level 11 Focus Energy + Bite on Kam
"Fake Out and Focus Energy." The commands came out of one spot-- lovely red lips that emerged from the shadows of the arena. Her eyes were locked onto the two opponents that were on stand by in her area, which meant only one thing; battle. Her eyes narrowed a little in comprehension as she recognized Syl as being one of the top Pokémon trainers in the region. Starting over, was he? He had good choice in Pokemon, she thought as her eyes glanced over at the Meowth.
"Welcome, I'm Adrian. First Gym Leader, and the first one to crush the hopes of 10 year old kids." She smiled sarcastically, placing a hand on her hips in a feminine pose. She knew who Syl was, of course, but if he was expecting Haru then he had another thing coming.
Cat was the first one to make the strike, being like a ninja as his claws made a jab at his fellow Meowth. He grinned coyly, noticing the female's shiny and attractive fur. It was a shame, harming such a pretty thing. Rat meanwhile was prepping himself up while Cat was being the distraction. He huffed as soon as he finished bulking himself up, and eyes focused on the steel type, he charged at him with a Bite attack.

She let out a quick, shrill mew. Sure, the male was attractive, but she wasn't exactly in the market for romance.
Kam had a slightly easier time shaking off his blow, steel armor serving as a buffer. Eyes narrowed, both combatants waited for an order.
Syl was quick on the draw. "Charm and Aerial Ace. As for you Kam, Leer and Brick Break."
Cyle was far faster than Kam, but due to the effects of Fake Out, was left gazing into the eyes of Cat.
Kam wasted no time, either. First stopping to Leer at Rat, he then executed a vicious punching move.

Gym Leader Adrian { Cat } Level 11 (Defense -1) Technician Activates Growl on both opponents Scratch on Meowth
{ Rat } Level 11 (Defense -1) Hit by Brick Break SUPER EFFECTIVE. Tail Whip + Bite on Kam
So she had managed to thwart the Meowth from attacking? That was nice, though from what it turns out, that metal wearing Pokemon was the greater threat. The Bite attack hardly had an effect on it, and to make things worse, it knew Brick Break. That was the shield breaking move that could only make problems for her normal type duo. Bird would've been the better option, but as a Gym Leader, she was prohibited from switching Pokemon. What a bother. She could only watch at Rat was smacked upside the noggin from the higher leveled Pokemon, knowing that already he was growing weak.
"Fine, fine. Be like that." She sighed, crossing her arms across her breast as she thought of the situation she was in. Time to try and save Rat, if possible. "Cat, Growl at the pair." In double battles, Growl worked on both opponents. Even now, her Meowth looked distracted from the leer as his own defense went down. Hissing out a sharp retort to both of his enemies, knowing very darn well that it was possible for them to hear him, he let out an enspirited Scratch at the female's side. Better that he strike her before she gets him, no?
"Rat, Tail Whip the duo. Then get 'Kam' with Bite." She ordered, used to this double battle business by now. The Rattata was weaker, but nodded as he thrashed his tail about at both Kam and Cyle. Thinking he had an advantage now, he rushed ahead at the steal type with another Bite attack prepared.

One word repeated indefinitely in Syl's brain. For all his big talk, this sure was turning out to be a rocky start. "And here I was going to go easy on you, darling," he said through gritted teeth, observing the conditions of his pokemon closely.
Cyle hissed viciously, silvery hair standing on end as Cat neared her. Claws tore into her flesh, leaving tiny ruby stains on her immaculate fur. She reared back, ambling away from her attacker.
Kam braved the attack head-on, allowing Rat to clamp down on his leg. He regarded the normal-type with a scoff - lowered defenses or not, his steel armor was more than enough padding for him.
"Let's try those attacks again, loves," Syl's voice rang out loud and clear, echoing off the walls of the gym.
Speedy Cyle's face twisted into a sultry grin as she sauntered over to Cat. Her feminine Charm was meant to lower attack, but she could never be sure how great it would work. Drawing closer and closer, she suddenly launched herself into the air, coming down fast with her claws extended. Aerial Ace was her signature move.
Kam was next, leering dangerously at Rat and then charging for a second Brick Break.

Cat tensed up as the second Meowth approached him, oozing grace and flirtatious intentions. She was almost... flirting with him. Her charm was irresistible and willing or unwilling, Cat relaxed his guard. Just in time for her to leap into the air and slam down on him, drawing a howl from the feline as her claws gouged into his chest, dealing critical damage and significant internal damage. Meanwhile, Rat had been frozen in place by the Leer, legs quivering as he tried to move aside. But it was much too late, and the punch smashed into his face, drawing a squeal of pain from the rat and a gasp of shock from Adrian as her little Rat rolled to a stop. She had to retaliate before her dear Rat reached his zenith of pain and needed to be recalled. Biting her lip as he got shakily to his feet, Adrian relayed her orders. "Both of you. Bite that Meowth." Obeying, the pair rushed forwards, teeth gnashing as they aimed for Syl's feline without hesitation. Hit by Aerial Ace. Frantically she used Aerial Ace, slashing in the direction of Rat.
"Back her up! Leer and Brick Break!" Syl screeched at Kamen, who had been watching his partner's anguish from the sidelines. He smirked, rushing forward and tapping Cat on the back.

::meowth:: weakening
::rattata:: seriously weak "Rat," the gym leader shouted as the Rattat was struck by the aerial ace, sending him flying into the air, only to fall to the ground with a thud. "Get up please," Adrian begged. She needed to make sure that she could make this match last longer that the others. She had been swamped recently and because of it her pokemon were getting tired, weaker. It would soon get to the gym inspectors that she wasn't fit to be a gym leader and they would close the gym down. Adrian gave a sigh of relief when she noticed the purple rat getting up from the gound, but only to gasp in shock when she noticed that the rather odd pokemon was using leer and brick break on Cat. She gasped and looked to her pokemon who were weakening more and more with every attack. "Cat, use scratch on that red thing. Rat, use bite on that Meowth."

Her keen eyes had seen the repeat attack coming a mile away, and she leaped out of the way just in time.
Kam didn't bother with such tactics. Bravely he stood, taking the hit and showing no weakness. Despite the image he maintained, underneath it all his body ached, joints were sore. The battle was dragging on a bit too long for his tastes.
"Again, loves," Syl's voice called out over the chaos, clear and steadfast. Trainer folded his arms across his chest, observing the battle sternly. It seemed to be going well, he thought. But what did he know, he'd only fought about a million battles.
For once, Kam was first to react. He rushed towards Rat and punched furiously, Brick Break as reliable as it was powerful. He would not be beaten.
Cyle let out a mew, feminine wiles aiming to Charm Cat once more. Satisfied, she lunged with Aerial Ace. What a display.

Gym Leader Adrian
{ Cat + Rat } Fainted. 1 level for both Cyle and Kam (Following the NPC Trainer Rules).
{ Bird } Level 13 Leer on Cyle + Kam Night Shade on Kam
{ Worm } Level 13 Tackle on Cyle
The combination of attacks from the higher leveled Pokemon was enough to take out her first two Pokemon. The pitiful sight of her Cat and Rat duo battered and beaten, while Syl's Pokemon in mediocre health just made her mad. Chances were, his current team could probably make a good hit on Bird and Worm before he even had to change Pokemon. Just how strong were his Pokemon?! She returned her team with a scowl, not used to facing such tough opponents. "Well done, now it's time for round two!" She cried as she released both a prim Natu and a naive Wurmple onto the field. They both looked weak, but they had high levels.
"Time to be a little more serious, huh guys?" She asked, lips curled up to a twisted smile. The pair let out simultaneous cries, showing their eagerness to battle. So this was it; the second round was about to begin. The Meowth was the weaker of Syl's Pokemon, so tag teaming it seemed to be the better strategy. "Leer both Pokemon. Worm, tackle the Meowth." Right as Bird executed its attack, there was the chance that Worm's Tackle would do more damage than normal, assuming it hit. The little Wurmple scuttled across the floor, aiming its body against the feline's chest.
"Night Shade the steel one." Since Bird obviously didn't know the steel type's name, this would have to do. The Natu's eyes glowed a mysterious color before shooting off an eerie black light. This could at least get around his defenses, though it depended more on Bird's level.

Kam was dazed. Steel-type glanced around, trying to make sense of what happened to him. His defenses had been lowered, and now a mind fuck like that? What was his opponent trying to pull? He lowered himself to the ground, trying to regain his center. Eyes closed, he waited patiently for Syl's voice. He didn't glance at Cyle, who was faring worse than he. "Cyle, Shadow Claw! Kam, Faint Attack and Torment!" Syl was forced to think on his feet. He knew none of Kam's usual attacks would be particularly effective, so Torment was his best option for preventing the obnoxious bird Pokémon from spamming Night Shade. Syl was so focused on Kam that he failed to notice the crumpled heap of Meowth on the cold marble floor. When he finally glanced over, he drew in a sharp breath. "Oh Cyle," he murmured. Recalling the little Meowth was no easy task for him - he wanted her to keep fighting, and flirted with the idea of using a Revive. In the end, it's exactly what he did. Jumping the fence and sprinting onto the battlefield, he shoved the item down the kitten's throat. Gym Leader Adrian
{ Bird } Level 13 --TORMENT On Night Shade-- Hit by Faint Attack Super Effective Peck on Cyle Weakening
{ Worm } Level 13 String Shot on Kam Tackle on Kam
"Revives, huh? Well, anything goes if you have the cash." Adrian didn't seem too pleased at the Meowth's revival, but it had to be at half health. Was it enough to beat her own two Pokemon? Due to the level advantage, it was very possible. She didn't want to waste her moves, and had planned on weakening the steel type with Night Shade. By some cruel twist of fate, it just had to use Torment on Bird, before using a super effective attack on her.
<Foul! Foul! Foul creature!> The Natu hissed, clearly, entranced by the Torment's powers. She acted on an impulse and charged at the Meowth, greatly annoying her trainer as she tried to swipe a Peck attack at the cat's hip. That only left Adrian with Worm, who was calmly waiting for an order.
"String Shot and Tackle that...thing." She glared at the steel type, knowing that Bird was already having a hard time due to that Faint Attack. She wouldn't last much longer against an opponent that was this strong. Worm humbly nodded, letting out a loose string shot at the steel type to make it harder for it to attack. Then, with her trap set, she crawled forward for a Tackle attack against his armored body.

He didn't pay attention to the cries of Cyle and Kam; he knew Cyle would be good for a few more rounds, and Kam was definitely on the weak side. He had no clue how long they'd last, but the battle had to be nearly over by now. Or at least he hoped.
Natu seemed to be giving him the most trouble, so that's where the focus of his attacks would be. "Shadow Claw and Faint Attack!"
Cyle was slowed, both by her injuries and the lingering effects of string shot. Kam was first to act this time, disappearing from the battlefield only to appear behind Natu in an attempt to take him by surprise.
Feline flashed Natu a cheeky grin before lunging, shadow energy radiating from her claws.

{ Bird } Level 13 --TORMENT On Night Shade-- Hit by Faint Attack and Shadow Claw Super Effective Fainted. Meowth and Steel Thingie Gain .5 levels

Huh, so that was how it was going to be. Now that her poor Natu was being ganged up on by this guy's two powerhouses, she stood no chance of winning at this point. Still, she had a duty as a Gym Leader to fight through it until the very end. People didn't just come here to win, they came here to train. At the very least, she'd fufill her role without being a sore loser. Easier thinking it than acting it, huh?
"Back, Bird." She recalled the Natu back into her Pokeball, seeing that it was impossible for the battered bird to fight any longer. Now it was just up to her and Worm, yay. She wasn't sure what she should do about this little one, really. Even the Wurmple was starting to show her lack of nerves, nearly cowering at the two Pokemon.
"Tackle the Meowth, I suppose." Adrian shrugged. Mentally she gave up, but she had to painfully follow through with this. Worm gasped at the command, gulped it down as if it was some kind of nasty vodka, then charged at the feline.

{ Worm } Level 13 (Defense -1) Hit by Faint Attack Not very effective Weakening Tackle on Steel Thingie
Huh. So the cat went down after all, did it? She was sure that after that Potion, it would be able to survive a few more hits. Ah well, she had her dignity as a Gym Leader saved by defeating at least one of her opponent's Pokemon. Now it was down to that tired, but strong steel type, and her dear Worm. The sweetie was strong enough to evolve, but evolving her meant moving away from her prey and predator theme.
"Endure it, I know you can." Adrian's eyes narrowed at the dark type move. Bugs had resistance, so even with the level disadvantage, Worm would be in the clear. Luckily for her, it wasn't a critical hit. Worm was still standing, but looking tired. <I-I can't compare.> She whimpered, wondering how she should manage this situation.
"Poison Sting won't work, just go for the tackle." Well, it was the only way to win. She had to try that much, right? Worm gulped before she ran ahead at Kam, aiming at his legs since she was too short to hit anything else.

The Wurmple watched the Steel-type Pokémon closely. Though...perhaps a little too closely for her own good. The Steel Pokémon's jarring Leer attack got to her, and she winced slightly. She was already badly damaged...how much more of this abuse could she take? Hopefully the answer to that question would come later rather than sooner as the strange-looking Pokémon came rushing in her direction. And its comment about squishing bugs didn't exactly help her self-esteem. Instead of doing something to defend herself against the incoming Scratch, she cowered, afraid of what the larger Pokémon might do to her. Upon being slashed by her claw, she cried out in pain, sliding backwards along the ground. But all wasn't lost for Adrian quite yet. No, the Bug-type Pokémon was slowly able to get back up yet again. Quite impressive for a Pokémon of such small stature. But one way or another, Adrian knew the battle was coming to its close. There was no way Worm could survive another attack. "We're going to need to be a bit more innovative if we hope to be victorious." she said thoughtfully. "Let's try to stop its movement. I want you to use String Shot on that Pokémon's legs." The Worm Pokémon nodded and lifted herself into the air, sending out a thick, sticky substance from her mouth with String Shot. The string headed straight for the Steel-type's legs, in an attempt to completely stop the Pokémo's movements by wrapped it around the legs. If this worked out, they might still have a chance.... ::Wurmple:: Hit by Leer and String Shot! Used String Shot on Steel-Thing Very Weak [DEF: -2]

"You can't miss out on experience," he told the feline as she awoke and stretched her tired limbs. She was faring better than Kam now, at least. In a moment of weakness, trainer tossed the Pawniard a hyper potion. When the Pokémon looked confused, Syl sighed and was forced to use it on him.

Gym Leader Adrian ::wurmple:: { Worm } Level 13 Female (Defense -2) Very Weak String Shot on Cyle Tackle on Kam
"I don't know about that. How many times did that pathetic Meowth go down?" Adrian snorted at the feline, who was revived again with some kind of item. Nothing she could really do about that, except take advantage of the lack of damage given to Worm this turn. "How are you holding up, Worm?" She asked, pushing back some heavy strands of dark black hair from her eyes.
<Not so good. My energy is going on low.> She reported with a cringe, but she could pull off one more move. It wouldn't take both of them down, but she could try and weaken one of them a little. Without Bird at her side, she wasn't nearly as confident as she usually was.
"Keep that Meowth distracted with a little yarn, why don't you." She huffed, clearly hinting at a string shot. Worm looked confused for that moment, forming a ball of string in her mouth until she shot the sticky ball at Cyle. Then, without a command from her trainer, she went for a Tackle on Kam.
