After finishing his first contest battle in a loss with the battle, but an ultimate victory, he was excited to go to the gym now and ultimately begin his training as a trainer. He did superb as a coordinator but now, he needed to turn on his fierce battle mode and defeat this trainer. "Adrian?" he called out as he released his Quilava and Glameow. This would be an interesting battle. "Await my orders." he spoke to both of his Pokémon as they yawned, they didn't completely over level the gym but they had been training so much that this battle should be a walk in the park.

Adrian sat on the floor of her gym just waiting for another opponent. Bird and Worm were beside her, half playing and half mock battling. There was something about this new trainer that came in that seemed different. She could already tell by looking that they were of a much higher level than her Pokémon. Another Powerplayer who probably trained his Pokémon to the brink before coming here. It didn't matter though. He was here to get a badge so he would have to fight he for it. She'd never give up something like that willingly. She stood up, her eyes narrowing at her opponent. "Welcome to my gym."

This was the beginning of his first real battle to becoming a Pokémon master. ”Okay, here we go. Tyr! Flame Wheel and Leer the Wurmple! Hel; Hypnosis on the Natu and Faint Attack the Natu! Go!” he cleared his voice at the end of his command and watched as his Pokémon did what he asked. They all had a close bond because there were only four of them and because of this they all interacted well with one another. Hel the first to pounce sending psychic waves towards the Natu trying to hypnotize and make it fall asleep, after her attempt she disappeared into the shadows and tried to Faint Attack the bird/psychic Pokémon. The Quilava was next as he leered the Wurmple and then began to make his Flame Wheel aimed straight at the bug type.

"Woah! Woah! Woah! I said welcome not lets start the battle already!" Adrian said but it was too late as her two pokemon were struck with the combination attacks and she instantly found herself in a big deficit very early on in the match. "Woah! Not fair... Dirty move, dirty move. I never even got your name!" She said, clearly angry at how the battle just turned like that without her consensus. She wanted a conversation, an introduction at the very least but the trainer just went straight to attacking her... No warning, no nothing. Worm was quickly hit with a mean leer before the Quilava ran forward in a ball of fire and struck her down. She was not very appreciative of that as it burned a lot of her skin and she began to feel a bit of pain from the attack. >You are powerful...< She said before she shot an array of poison stings at the Quilava in retaliation. >But don't think that'd happen again, you caught me off guard. That's all.< She said out loud to the pokemon. Bird wasn't as lucky. She fell asleep instantly from the hypnotic trance of the Glameow and became defenseless when it struck her with a powerful faint attack. Luckily for her, she woke up right after the attack and was able to retaliate now. Oh the miracles of Early Bird, it was such a nice ability as it allowed her to wake up very quickly after falling asleep. >Not cool! Not at all!< She said as she sent a mirage at the Glameow to do damage to the pokemon now. >Take that!< She said. Adrian had just recently lost the quickest match in her life... She must have been going through a funk as this battle wasn't going as well as she had hoped either. ::Natu:: (Weakening) Early Bird Activates Hit by Hypnosis and Faint Attack (SE). It’s not that bad, keep it up. Abram was extremely confident that his team could overcome any sort of gym battle after the intense contest that they were just put in through. ”You can do this. Here we go. Use Ember on the Wurmple! Hel use your Water Pulse on the bird. Go!” Abram commanded his pokemon with power as he waited for Hel & Tyr to do what they needed to do.
Hel began and took the poison sting attack, he cringed after the poison began to seep in, he wasn’t poisoned yet but he was slowly getting there. His immunity towards the poison was slowly diminishing, Tyr then released his onslaught of flames, using ember to just burn the wurmple hopefully for a second time.
The Glameow on the other hand took the Night Shade attack and meowed quite loudly, it had hurt her and she retaliated with her own move. Creating a Water Pulse with her tail she conjured it up and sent it straight for the Natu hoping for it to hit.

Bird was struck again, this time with a big bubble of water that knocked her back but luckily she was able to survive this attack and continue on. She was tiring but she was too stubborn to give in that easily. >No! You will not win this easily! You will not!< She said and she quickly gave a leer to the two pokemon before she flew right at the Glameow with her beak out to poke her. >You can not win! You will not! I did not train this hard to lose this quickly!< She said. Adrian was a bit surprised and a bit worried, it seemed that Bird was getting a bit flustered and she attacked without her trainer's consent. That meant that she was a bit flustered and that was never a good sign. Worm on the other hand was struck again by a ball of fire and she felt herself inflamed some more. But luckily for her, after experiencing the first one she became more resilient to this one. It still hurt, no doubt about that, but it hurt a lot less. >You will pay for hurting me! You will!< She said as she tried to run at the Quilava to attack it... But then the pain started to kick in. And she quickly fell onto the floor, unable to make a move this turn. Adrian began to worry and considered returning Worm. But it was too weak already that returning it would do nothing for a pokemon in it's condition... ::Natu:: (Weakening) Hit by Water Pulse. Used Leer and Peck (Glameow)
::Wurmple:: (Weak) Hit by Ember (SE). Did nothing

The battle would only be considered one sided if the other gave up, nothing in these battles mattered except for your determination to win. Abram trained his pokemon and therefore, they sort of outleveled his opponent’s but that was such a small indicator of the match, anything could still happen. ”Faint Attack again Hel! Use Quick Attack Tyr!” Abram’s voice was very firm and decisive as he told his pokemon their next move for battle. However, they still both needed to deal with the moves that Adrian’s little devils decided to use.
Hel was the first, she was quick and feisty but she couldn’t dodge the Bird’s double attacks. The leer had hit first dropping the cat pokemon’s defense considerably, followed by the peck all the normal pokemon could do was let it happen and use the moves to anger her and make her hit harder. Instantly, she disappeared into the shadows and within a few moments reappearing closer to the Natu hoping that her Faint Attack would be successful.
The fire pokemon on the other hand had such an easier time, the Wurmple was just standing their not doing anything. He started by moving his feet quickly gaining enough momentum for his Quick Attack, once it was fast enough he narrowed in on the Wurmple hoping this would be it for the bug.

Adrian sighed as she saw the Faint Attack come after Bird had a feeling that she would be knocked silly. Luckily for her, Bird had something up her sleeves as she quickly teleported out of the way and prevented herself from suffering damage from the Faint Attack. "Great job Bird!" Adrian said to her Natu who simply survived another turn, although it wasn't looking too great right now. Worm on the other hand noticed and incredibly speedy fire pokemon coming after her and she quickly heard her command from Adrian also to help herself out. "Defensive Eat! Slow it down before it can attack you!" She said and Worm threw out a huge amount of web at Quilava to escape the attack. They survived at least one more round, that was good enough for Adrian as it gave them one more round to defeat their enemies. It wasn't looking good but another round lived is another round they had to defeat their opponent. "Alright guys! Great job! Lets survive a few more and tire them out!" She said. ::Natu:: Used Teleport to dodge Faint Attack
::Wurmple:: Used String Shot to dodge Quick Attack

Abram was very ecstatic that his first real battle (not coordinator, mind you) was with Adrian. She seemed very tenacious when it came to her battling and wouldn’t give up her badge easily. This sort of battling gave Abram a burning sensation; he wanted to win this so badly. ”You guys got this. Hel, Use Fake Out on the Natu! Tyr. You can do this; Use a second flame wheel on the wurmple. Go.” Abram was a bit overconfident in this battle but he knew that he would be able to succeed.
The normal cat pokemon meowed quietly before her eyes scanned for the damned bird pokemon. Once she spotted the psychic-type, Hel quickly used her fake out attack attempting to make the Natu flinch.
Tyr’s body was engulfed in flames as he began to spin quickly, using his flame wheel to burn the webs, the Quilava rushed towards the Wurmple trying to land another hit on the bug.

Gym Leader Adrian ! Adrian gritted her teeth. There was no way she'd be able to pull the same tricks in this battle, so she knew that the time for her first two Pokémon was surely up this turn. "Try to endure it!" She commanded, knowing that the stronger opponents would be faster than them if they tried to dodge.
As expected, the two attacks hit hard and fast, leaving her two fighters knocked out on the ground. Smoke danced above the Wurmple's body. With a sigh, she returned the duo.
"That was just a warm up, mind you." She said, trying to seem confident despite this embarrassing first round. "Go, Cat and Rat!" She said, calling out her second pair - a Meowth and Rattata who looked pretty sly.
"Cat, Scratch the quilava. And Rat, bite the Glameow." Cat bared his fangs in a grin, then zipped forward, raising his gleaming claws to slash across the fire Pokémon. Meanwhile, Rat seemed a bit tentative toward the idea of biting one of its own predators, but he knew disobeying Adrian would bring consequences. He snuck forward, then pounced and attempted to sink his buckteeth into the cat's hind leg. Fainted. Neither Quilava nor Glameow gain any levels.

Both of Abram’s Pokémon still had at least half of their health left, he cringed and clenched his arms almost as if he was trying to decide how this part of the battle would go. ”I have faith in you two! Dodge both of their moves quickly.” The coordinator/trainer hoped that his Qulava and Glameow would be able to pull this off, they both quickly leapt out of the way but only Tyr was able to dodge the move. Hel, on the other hand was bitten, the poor cat shrieked in agony as she was hurt by the dumb rattata.”Goodjob! Now. Use Hypnosis on the Meowth! Now Water Pulse and Double-Edge the Rattata quickly!” they both nodded as Glameow began, her eyes turned a bright auburn in color as she tried to hypnotize the Meowth putting her into a deep slumber, the two next moves were quick. The fire Pokémon used his double egde running in quickly his sight set on the Rattata. Glameow attacked next using her water pulse trying to douse the poor rat in water.

"Tch." The Gym Leader huffed as she shoved back a giant lock of dark black hair, staring nervously at the field at the cleverly chosen attacks. Sleep to take out Cat, while finishing off Rat. It was a good strategy, and it didn't help that her Pokemon were severely out leveled. Still, she had to try and show her support for her Pokemon, or else this new guy didn't deserve a badge. "Dodge it Cat." She commanded, but the Meowth was already lured in by the Glameow's soft expression. Soon he was on the floor, curled up into a ball as he purred softly to himself.
'Worthless!' Rat thought as he nearly wet himself seeing the Quilava charge after him. The Glameow wasn't that far behind, but he was struck furiously by the Double Edge first. Somehow, he managed to hold own as he was doused with water. His legs trembled from weakness; feeling freezing as the air and water mixed together, making him one very unfezant Rattata.
"Bite the Quilava!" Adrian commanded, knowing it had to have taken some recoil from the double edge. Rat panted from exhaustion, but chased after the fire type for a desperate Bite against its leg.

This seemed very one-sided, but the only reason it was like this was because Abram was both a contest battler and a trainer, he would go to the contest battle and try his best and then try his go at the gym leader, it seemed tedious but it was working so far. ”Here we go. Hel! Take the bite attack.” he spoke to his glameow as she quickly ran in the way of the bite attack, it was her final move as she laid on the floor tired of battling and over exhausted. ”Goodjob Hel.” Abe spoke very softly as he returned his beloved feline and released another one of his close pokemon, Siren appeared in a magical splash, the milotic floated above the battle area letting out a small siren call alluring all attention to her. She began to move in the air making formations with her long slender body, she was a performer. ”Silly Siren.” her trainer shook his head in amusement, even in a gym battle she was showing off her creativity and elegance.
”Here we go. The Meowth is sleeping. Dragonbreath and Ember. Go.” the battle was already halfway done there was really no point in trying to set up the battle for their advantage, they would win, it was inevitable. The Milotic started the onslaught of flames as she released her dragonbreath straight towards the Rattata. The blue flames began to twist with Quilava’s ember both blue and red flames twisting and turning its way towards the rat pokemon.

Gym Leader Adrian [atrb=border,0,true] { Cat } Level: 11 Gender: Male Attacks: Scratch, Growl, Bite, Fake Out Asleep | { Rat } Level: 11 Gender: Male Attacks: Tackle, Tail Whip, Quick Attack, Focus Energy, Bite Hit by Ember and Dragon Breath Fainted. |
+1 level to glameow for fainting.
As the Glameow went down from the Bite attack, Rat sniffled with victory as he took a few uneasy steps backwards. He didn't think any of them would be taken down, but it appeared as if he did a good job. He turned back to grin at Adrian, demanding praise for his efforts. It was ok to do that, since Abram took his time releasing his Milotic onto the field, making an elegant call to bring everyone's attention to her.
Adrian and Rat were fascinated seeing such a beautiful Pokemon up close, but the Gym Leader knew not to underestimate it. Beauty could be quite deadly; that much she knew. The Dragon Breath and Ember were merciless towards Rat and easily took him down. She regretfully returned the Rattata into its sphere, and took a glance at the sleeping Meowth.
Well damn. He wasn't waking up any time soon, was he? She could only tap her foot impatiently as she waited for her opponent to make some kind of move. If only Cat could use a Fake Out, then it would be easier on them.

Abram was overly excited at what was about to happen, this meowth was the only thing in the way for the coordinator/trainer to receive his gym badge and to ultimately be finished with the first route would be nice. He spent so much time just preparing that he was so over-prepared that his Quilava and Milotic really wouldn’t get any real levels from these battles. ”The cat is sleeping! Let’s do this. Milotic! Use Water Pulse! Tyr, Use Double-Edge! Go.” he hoped that this would be the final attack, but in pokemon battling one could never be too sure.
Tyr was the first to start his attack, a speedy bullet the fire pokemon rushed in quickly and tried to use double edge on the Meowth taking recoil damage. Milotic was next, releasing a very high-pitched noise the small water sphere began to grow at her mouth, slowly in size it began to grew until it was about the size of three basketballs. The water pokemon shot it at the Meowth hoping to finish it off.

Gym Leader Adrian ! Adrian bit her lip as the attacks came, knowing that her Meowth would only manage to survive by a thread, if at all. Unfortunately, luck was not on her side; the cat failed to wake up that turn and was ravaged by the powerful Double Edge and Water Pulse. He promptly fainted without so much of a sound, lying limp in the leftover puddle.
Keeping a calm composure, Adrian held out a pokeball and recalled her Meowth. "Congratulations - you've won. Your Pokémon are very impressive." She said, just a hint of venom in her voice. Without another word, she tossed a glistening gym badge towards Abram, putting a little umph into it so that it would sting if it hit him. Along with that, a small pouch of PD was flung towards him as well.
Fainted.
Abram has won the battle. All Pokémon owned by him gain 1 level. Abram gains +5000 PD [added].
