It was quiet in the cafe, with the very early morning still a time for people to toss and turn with dreams in their heads. Danny, however, hadn't slept the past night and instead spent this early morning with a small cup of hot chocolate and a magazine he had picked up off a near by rack. It was full of gossip about celebrities and other trivial things, but the reason he decided to pick it up was to learn about all the recent trainer news. He wanted to know who exactly he was going to face eventually, so he read an article about the different gym leaders and interviews. It was actually very interesting to read, so much so that he was completely engrossed into the magazine that he didn't notice his Drifloon, Glinda, drinking down some of his hot chocolate. She carefully sipped, making sure not to burn her tongue on the drink as she stared at her trainer.
What the heck was so interesting in that multi-colored book that he had stopped nervously talking to her? She pouted, not enjoying being ignored and continued on slurping down his drink without him noticing. After a few more minuets of silence, Glinda would end up drinking the last of the hot chocolate before she realize it was gone. <Wah?> she said, tiling the cup farther back but no more chocolaty goodness came out. Her eyes immediately locked on Danny, who was still reading. <Dan,> she said in a bit of a hushed tone so she didn't bother the others in the cafe.
<Dannyyy!> she cried quietly when he didn't respond. Her cheeks puffed out in annoyance and she whacked him with her string like arms. "Ow!" Danny yelped, surprised. His eyes went up from the magazine and locked on to the drifloon, who pointed to the empty drink. "You drank all of it?" he asked, surprised. <Yeah, now go get more,> she said, pointing to the line in front of the counter. He was about to argue, but quickly just got up and went back into the line, sighing to himself and wondering how he allowed Glinda to push him around like that.

Amber walked in the cafe and looked around. Her Duskull, curse, followed her by hovering over her shoulder. She had figured it was time to get to know some of her Pokémon and let them out more often. Curse looked around with 'that' look in her eyes. She was looking for someone to prank, someone easy and scared. She looked ahead in the line and floated away from Amber.
Amber felt like some hot chocolate and stood in line behind a boy with blue hair. She wrapped her scarf around her neck and shook a bit. Dang, was it cold outside or what? She had placed her heavy jacket by the door so she wouldn't have to lug it around. She looked ahead in the line, not too many people so it shouldn't be a long wait.
Curse came back to Amber and looked at the boy in front of her. She rubbed her hands together and snickered a bit. <Oh, perfect.> She commented quietly to herself. Curse made herself disappear then she floated in front of Danny and made herself reappear. <Boo!> She said.
Amber was startled herself, she nearly jumped out of her spot inline. She noticed the Duskull and scowled. She yacked the Ghost type back to her and wiggled her finger at her. "Curse, what was that for? I've told you many times don't do that!" She said with a angry look. Curse hovered sadly, though she hid a snicker as Amber turned around to Danny. She rubbed the back of her neck and sighed. "I'm sorry about that, Curse here kinda likes doing that. She didn't startle you, did she?" Amber asked Danny.

Danny was pale. So much so that if he stood next to a white wall he might as well as been invisible. Of course he had been startled by the boo, but it wasn't until his bright yellow eyes locked onto that floating ghostly form that he froze, and his rosy red face slowly turned white. He didn't react as the pokemon was pulled away, or when the girl spoke, and still seemed petrified. It would take him a few more seconds, and the sense that Glinda was sending him a menacing stare from across the room before he said something. "N-n-n-no!" he said in a haste, his eyes deceiving his words. Obviously he had been scared to death, but he didn't want to make the girl feel bad by making it obvious.
Too bad he was making it obvious. He was about to mumble out some sort of apology before Glinda seemed to "magically appear, (really she had just floated over without him noticing) and promptly smacked him over the head. "Ow," he said, holding the spot where she hit him. <Quiet flirting in line Dan Dan!> she snapped, before crossing her arms. <People are just gonna cut you if you leave a space!> She flickered her gaze to the spot where the line had moved on while he had been frozen in fear. "Sorry," he mumbled, color returning to his face slightly. She smacked him again. <Quit apologizing, people are going to walk all over you if you just apologize for every damn thing,> Now she sounded more like a mother than just a bossy ghost pokemon.
"Sor-" She smacked him again before he could finish.

Amber couldn't help but snicker a little bit at the Drifloon smacking poor Danny over the head. Curse just floated there, pointing her hand and laughing. She liked this Drifloon, she took charge and didn't like anyone walk over her. Snickering, she floated over. <Oooh! Nice use of the hand, keke.> She commented to the Drifloon.
Amber turned back to Danny and smiled. "I'm sorry about that. To make up for it, let me get the drinks." She offered, though she didn't even give him a chance to say no. When the two got to the counter Amber laid the money down for both of their drinks. Giving a hot chocolate to Curse she carried the drinks to Danny's table. Setting them down she smiled. "There, hope that's alright with you if I join ya. I mean, its the least I can do in return for that scare Curse caused you." She said, giving a glare at Curse.
Curse happily sipped her drink. She laid it on the table and hovered over to Glinda and snickered. <Keke, as you have heard I'm Curse, keke.> She said happily. Amber followed Curse's intro and smiled. "I'm Amber, again, really sorry about Curse. She's new to the team and its a bit hard to control her at times." She said.

Danny held his now sore head, and opened his mouth to interject about her paying for the drinks, but was cut off when she had already bought them. A feeling of uncertainty over washed him as someone payed for his drinks, but he didn't want to get hit again so he kept quiet. Glinda just put her string like arms on her "hips" and sighed at Danny. Honestly this boy needed to stop being such a puss! He quietly shuffled behind her and said, "I-It's okay. I-I mean it wasn't that big of a deal.." Nervousness was written ALL OVER his face, now being surrounded by two ghost Pokémon. He could feel his sickness coming back already. <Sometimes you just need to smack him around a little to get him to function properly,> the Drifloon said in retalliation to the ghost pokemon's comment. She had originally had day dreams about being chosen by a strong and handsome trainer to take her on a journey, and somehow she ended up getting stuck with this runt. Karma had a weird way of working itself like that.. But still, she didn't mind. Anywhere but that crummy and compact lab would be good for her.
Glinda's eyes flickered from Danny to the oddly colored ghost before saying, <Curse huh?> It sounded like quite the dreadful name. <I'm Glinda,> she said smoothly. Even if Dan Dan had no backbone, somehow he had a wonderful way of naming Pokémon. Normally she would have never liked something so girly looking, but the way it sounded appealed to her so much that she instantly accepted them name without a second thought. Danny tried his best to smile pleasantly at the girl. "It's perfectly alright," he took a moment to remember Amber's name before saying, "I'm Danny. I-it's nice to meet you. And thank you for paying for the drinks!" He still felt awfully terrible for making her pay for his drink.. well.. Glinda's drink.

Curse snickered and nodded. <Nice to met you.> She said, putting her ghostly hand out to shake. She enjoyed having someone, a ghost type, to talk to. Her red body shined in the light as the snow continued to fall outside. She looked over at Danny and Amber and snickered to herself. It almost looked like those two were on a date. <Kekeke...> She thought out loud. <Don't those two look cute?> She asked her new ghost friend.
Amber smiled and waved her hand. "No biggie. Least I could do for Curse's little act there." She said with a glare to her shiny Duskull. She smiled, her black eyes stared past Danny and at the window. The snow was falling, giving the city a night coat of snow, it looked beautiful outside. "Gotta love the winter..." She said, looking outside. Then suddenly, her cheeks almost began blushed as she over heard her Duskull. She turned to give her a glare again. She would have threw her hot chocolate at her but she was a Ghost, it would pass right through her.

Glinda met the handshake, sticking out her rather frail arm and grasping the other pokemon's hand. <Charmed,> she said in a slight British accent. This had been the first pokemon Glinda had actually made friends with. This whole time it had just been her, Dan Dan, and whatever wild pokemon they stumbled upon. To finally have somewhat of a decent conversation with a pokemon was rather nice! Much less with another ghost pokemon. Danny smiled, genuinely this time, seeing Glinda look rather pleased at meeting another ghost pokemon. Even if he was a few seconds away from having a heart attack, it was good to see her happy. His attention was directed to Amber, and then to the window she had been staring out of. "Heh, it really is a neat season. The snow makes everything look so clean and clear," his tone drifted a bit as his mind went back to his childhood, as he had spent days playing in the snow and building snow men with his sister.
Of course he was snapped back to reality at the sudden comment from the shiny Duskull. His face turned red and his eyes instantly went to the table so some of his blue hair would cover his red face. <Pfft> Glinda snickered, enjoying their reactions. <It's the perfect season to get all friendly and cuddly right?> She asked, crossing her arms and putting a small hand over her mouth as she giggled.

Curse snickered and tapped her hands together. Oh, how fun this was gonna be. Curse floated behind Amber and looked at Danny. Snickering, she tugged Amber's hair. "Oww!" Amber exclaimed, flinching and jolting out of her chair causing the hot chocolate to spill on her hand. "Arh!" She grabbed her hand, the hot chocolate was super hot still and burned. She flinched and bit her lip. She glared at Curse and shook her fist. "What was that for?!" She cried out loud enough to have some people's heads turn. Curse snickered happily and disappeared in thin air. Amber turned back to Danny and grimaced. "Stipid Duskull...how my brother ever got something like this for my birthday is beyond me. It acts just like him..." She said in thought. She held her hand and bit her lip. Stupid Duskull.
Curse reappeared by Glinda and snickered. <Kekeke..> She said with a evil smile. She didn't mean to hurt her Trainer in any way but her love life was completely boring. She met no boys on her trip so far so Curse thought it was time to speed things up a bit. She did this in hopes Danny would do something to help her. If he didn't...she was gonna call in Glinda to give him a good whacking.

Danny's face went pale as he watched the ghost float by Amber, but when she knocked over the hot chocolate and yelped in pain, he immediately jumped up and went to her side. "Are you alright?" he asked. Okay, kinda stupid. She was obviously hurt by that steaming hot chocolate. He mentally smacked his forehead for being an idiot and quickly went to get some napkins to stop the drink from spilling off the table and onto the floor. With her trainer gone from sight, the Drifloon rolled her eyes and floated over to his chair, where his backpack was neatly hung on the back. She dug around and eventually found a small first aid kit he always seemed to carry with him. She floated next to Amber and took her hand before addressing the burn. Danny came stumbling back, a large number of napkins in his hand as he attempted to clean up the mess. "T-Thank you Glinda," he said, glancing at the ghost pokemon as she simply said "ahuh" and put a little blue band-aid on the girls hand. <There you go girlie,> she said when she finished. Her gaze wandered to Curse, but she didn't say anything.
It was reasons like this that ghost pokemon got a bad rep. They always liked to cause trouble and mischief wherever they went. Glinda, though a little rough around the edges sometimes, didn't really like to follow that stereotype much. Still, she rather liked Curse, even if she was a bit mischievous. The way these two were interacting now was kinda cute. This was their first time really meeting another trainer, so why not make it memorable?

Amber blushed slightly as Danny rushed over. She lowered her head a bit and her black hair fell in her face. She was clearly embarrassed by what Curse did, and Danny didn’t seem any calmer than she. Curse hovered by Glinda side and snickered to herself. Placing her ghostly hands over her mouth, she whistled when Amber turned and glare at her. Glinda took action and went to get a first aid kit from Danny’s bag. She then did all she could and placed a band-aid on her hand. She lifted her hand and looked at it. “Oh, thanks, Glinda.” Amber said, giving another deathly look at Curse.
Still having blushed cheeks Amber brushed a few strands of hair out of her face. Her eyes held embarrassment and she clasped her hands together. Hurrying to think of something to talk about she started muttering to herself. “Cursed ghost...” She then shook her head and her cheeks returned to normal. Smiling at Danny she spoke. “Hey, how long have you been traveling so far?” In hopes of breaking the awkwardness she gave serious look.

The blue haired boy was surprised she changed the topic so quickly, but she clearly just wanted to move on from the awkwardness that had settled between them. "Ah w-well," he began rather shyly. <Boring,> Glinda said, returning the pack back in Danny's backpack with a puff. She wasn't interested in listening to Dan Dan's stuttered sentences so began talking for him. <All we encountered was a bunch of ragtag pokemon,> her little black eyes rolled around, <nothing worth talking about, right Dan Dan?> Danny blinked before slowly nodding his head. He felt Glinda's gaze now on him, as if she was expecting him to speak now that she was done. "W-what about you?" he began, quickly trying to think of something to say. "How have y-your travels been?" The Drifloon's gaze was only making him more and more nervous, his face slowly turning a slight shade of white again. Maybe her adventure had been much more exciting than his. She probably had a lot more cool pokemon than him, and probably had several stories to tell.

"Been good so far. Oh," Amber ducked down and looked through her bag. Taking out a small case with a ribbon on top she opened it and showed it to Danny. "This is my ribbon from the Baby rank contest leader in the first city." Amber explained. The small ribbon showed that she had one against him. Though, she left out the part it was only by one point that she won.
Curse snickered. However, she wasn't used in battles much so it made her a tad bit sad that she didn't take part in winning that ribbon. She was out there for like one attack and then recalled because of type differences.
Amber leaned her head on her hand and stared out the window. "It's fun journeying through the Cheyenne region." She started. "Meeting new faces, both of Pokemon and people. Seeing the different battle styles of everyone. It makes you wonder, exactly what are you doing here in this region? What do you want to do with your life." She turned back to Danny and smiled. "Me personally wants to go both ways. To be a coordinator and trainer. Kinda like having the best of both sides."
