Warren yawned sleepily as he waited in the room which the trainer's lounge attendant had assigned him. He was waiting for another opponent to battle, so he could get his Pokémon stronger, and make his own skills as a trainer more sharp. The dark haired young man from Staunchriver rolled his shoulder gently as he waited for his opponent. It was a random thing, but he had confidence in his Pokemon, and as Cre held the Lucky Egg that Warren had bought to [with hope, if it wasn't just a wacky legend] make her grow faster.
He wasn't sure if he was going to have her be the first one to battle, even though she had just been taught a new technique, he was not sure that she'd be the proper fit. Type effectiveness was just as important as attack power and skill- and his enemy might walk in with Pokémon who could demolish his team if he didn't use them wisely.

"Hey!" a voice called out to the trainer standing around, and the ginger youth with slight freckles placed himself in front of his opponent. Simon had no clue as to why he was here - but apparently it would do well for his Pokemon, and get them some levels and experience... so he supposed it would be good. With a grin he extended his hand towards Warr's, a friendly gesture for a good battle... despite he himself only having two Pokemon. He doubted anyone else here did. "I'm Simon. I guess we'll be fighting soon!" optimistic as ever, he awaited for some sort of direction for what to do next. First time being in here, and all.

It'd be a lie to say Warren had any strong expectations towards who he would end up battling here in the lounge, but he definitely didn't expect for the person whom he was battling to react that way. It was really enthusiastic, considering this was a Pokemon battle- but that wasn't a bad thing either he supposed. The icy blue eyed young man tilted his head at the red haired young man who would be his opponent, and smiled friendlily.
"Nice to meet you, Simon. I'm Warren, and yeah, I think we will. Have you had many Pokemon battles before?" the young man rolled his shoulders for a moment, before unzipping his obnoxiously orange hoodie, removing it and standing there for a moment, letting the hoodie drop to the ground. Clearly, a full belt of eight Pokeballs could be seen as the young man stood in his dark blue t-shirt, simple blue jeans, and blue and orange tennis shoes. "If so, how's about we start out with a simple one on one battle? I'll help you get your first footholds of experience in."

Simon stopped and stared, watching at the boy before him began unzipping his hoodie. He was a little taken a back, however just went with the flow. "N-not many," he mumbled, deciding its best not to mention he had zero experience in battles. Though he saw how they were done before, so obviously he wasn't that aloof on the subject. Yet on looking at his opponents full belt of eight, his teeth sunk into his bottom lip as he pondered if he would even stand a chance - at his hip only rested two pokeballs. "Sure, let's see what you got." he said to the offer of a one on one battle, his own hand placing against his belt as he waited to see what Warren would toss out first. He only had two Pokemon - he had to judge strategically.

Warren was there first, and had had a chance to scout out the battle room- noticing the order the beams above them were in, the way the boulder to the right of them was, and all of that. He had the chance of getting tons of strategic knowledge, and yet this guy was offering him the chance to throw out the first Pokemon- Warren chuckled thinking on it. It wasn't the chance, the guy was just not sure what kind of Pokémon Warren might have, so he was at least trying to get a little bit of an edge within this battle. It made the young man wonder, just as the way that this Simon kid's stuttering answer made him wonder on how true it was. Not many could mean anything, but the kids stuttering made it feel like a shield, who knew. Might as well start on a middle ground. Too weak and this kid would roll over Warren's pokemon, too strong and Warren would either beat the heck out of Warren's strong Pokémon and the young man would have to struggle to catch up-. Middle ground was the way to go, and because Cre had been such a loyal Pokémon to him so far, and had been a Pokémon his mother had sent specifically to serve as his 'starter' and to travel with him throughout his travels, he felt the need to make her stronger and more experienced in battle. Without a word, he went to the third Pokeball on the left side of his belt, grabbing it, and looking at the contents, where a little teal and red elephant beamed up at him and he grinned down at her, tossing the Phanpy's Pokeball up in the air, and sending the little elephant down on the ground with a thump. She grinned at Simon somewhat toothily, sticking up her big nose and rolling it, trumpetting for a moment a hello. "Simon, meet Croiteoir Cré! Or Cre as I call her." He rubbed the little elephantine Pokemon's head for a moment, before nodding to Simon. Cre the Phanpy was sent out to battle.

At the opposite end, Simon smirked. In anticipation he waited for what Pokemon would be displayed to him, and his eyes shined slightly in mental notation of what was seen. Hand grasped at his pokedex inside of his inner pocket, and he let it record the data of this creature - Phanpy. "A Phanpy, huh? Nice to meet you, Cre." he greeted, before letting his hand grasp against the first pokeball against his hip belt, the Torkoal - Hiko - inside of it. With a toss upwards, the fire tortoise was released before him, head lifting to view both Phanpy and it's owner, white smoke pulsing outwards.
Hiko (Torkoal) sent out to battle!
"Let's get ready for them, Hiko!"

As Warren stood confidently beside his ground type Pokemon, he was not really sure what what was coming, and so a neutral expression was upon the young man's face as he slipped the now empty pokeball back into its spot upon his belt. Cre grinned toothily towards Simon her nose curled up ready for another trumpet, at least up until the point the young man recorded her data into his Pokedex and threw out his own Pokemon, a sizable and very healthy looking turtle Pokémon. Something Warren had seen before occasionally, but not experienced on his own, this Pokémon was a Torkoal, right? He wasn't sure what type it was as the turtle like coal Pokémon blasted out white smoke from its body, but that was a close enough clue, and a quick scan from his Pokedex only confirmed that. He nodded towards the tortoise Pokémon curtly, before smirking down towards Cre. The Torkoal was a fire type Pokemon, and that meant only one thing. "Nice to meet you, Hiko." the young man nodded, before pointing at the Tortoise with two fingers, nodding to his Phanpy. "Might as well hit them quick and strong, Crecre. Let's get her with a Stone Edge!" The little elephant did more than that, growling at her opponent, before pawing the ground for a moment, and rolling into a ball. Without a moment's notice, the little elephant turned entirely white, rolling rapidly towards the boulder, and running into it. Without pause, a shower of sharp little stones rocketed towards the Torkoal, as Stone Edge finished. With hope, it'd hit. Cre used Growl and Stone Edge on Hiko the Torkoal!

Stone Edge, huh? While he wasn't exactly the most educated trainer, he already had a set strategy for this all. The white smoke would serve as a barrier, causing the tortoise to completely ignore the growl (special ability, white smoke) - due to the fact she was quite unaffected by the skill. Simon clenched his first and stepped into his own battle stance as the boulders began flying. "Hiko, use Withdraw!" the command was sent, and the Pokémon obediently retreated into its shell as the stones began to shower upon its outside, the damage being done but not quite as harmful had it occurred before hand. "Ember!"
The shout signaled a jet of fire that would shoot out from the shell where the turtle's head lay, aiming towards where the boulder was before, quickly covering land to get the little rolling elephant. It would come out from its shell as well, shaking off the attack a bit staggered - obviously hurt from the attack. This was a defensive game, for now... the only game that could be played. Simon gave a worried expression, irritable that his Pokemon was getting badly injured.
Hiko used withdraw (+defense). Hiko is unaffected by growl due to white smoke. Hiko uses ember!

The icy blue eyes watched the stones fly through the air at that tortoise, and cut through that white smoke for a moment, obviously hitting it. He stood upon the palms of his feet for a moment as he watched the charging tortoise, and saw it's blast of fire flying Phanpy's way. He wasn't sure how easily the little elephant could take it, but as she was hit by it and came out of her roll, she looked a little bit singed. So she didn't have a natural defense against fire types, he'd have to take note of that. He nodded to her confidently from across the battlegrounds, as she looked like she was definitely ready to fight despite the stings and scratches done by the likely more powerful tortoise. The young man had no idea why the growl hadn't done anything to it, or if it had and this beast was too good of an attacker to be hurt by it, but he didn't want to take chances either. "Cre, you're doing good sweetie! Get rolling again and this time get into a Defense Roll before hitting Hiko with another Stone's Edge! Let's get her out of this fight quickly!" The little elephantine pokemon trumpeted, rolling up into a ball despite it's stings, and as it tightened itself into a defensive roll, the defense roll, it moved around the slightly crackled boulder, once again glowing with white light before hitting it, sending shards of boulder glowingly skywards, and then rocketing downwards and towards the Torkoal in a rain. As it went on, Warren clinched his hand together. He didn't want to have to replace Cre with Rach, it'd be a big blow to the little elephant's confidence in battle, even despite her normally highly relaxed mood. ::Phanpy:: Cre was hit by Ember, slightly hurt. Used Defense Roll, and used Stone Edge on Hiko the Torkoal.

There was no real way that he would win this, and as the stones came again - it hit Hiko with full force. The tortoise was knocked back, rolling atop its shell - defeated. A small sigh passed the lips of the ginger haired youth, first pokeball lifting and returning the tortoise to it's vessel, a faint look of disappointment on his face. "Forfeiting. You win." he could toss out Burmy, but what could what that even do? It was a weak bug Pokemon going against a strong team of eight - this battle was lost.
A smile was forced on his lips as he took his defeat gracefully.
Hiko fainted! Simon forfeits the match, Warren wins!

Despite grinning for a moment as his Pokemon's volley of stones hit the Torkoal, and grinning for a moment after that as it was knocked back and presumably fainted, but that all washed away when the teenager reacted that way. It really was Simon's first battle, wasn't it? Warren spied another Pokémon at his belt but he was just giving up? Just giving up like that!?! It was just as disappointing for the trainer as it was for his opponent, and the dark haired young man couldn't help but shake his head. "You did good for your first battle, Simon. If you ever want to battle again, or need some help with something, call my Pokegear number, it's 934-453-8888. And- don't lose heart, your Torkoal did great out there, but sheer strength and determination are only part of the game. Type effectiveness and the weaknesses certain types of Pokémon have to others play into things just as much- your Torkoal will do great against bug and grass type Pokémon." and then he was done, this kid probably thought he was crazy or lecturing him, Warren withdrew Cre without another word, leaving the battlefield to get her wounds tended to. [ooc; As per the rules, Hiko the Torkoal gains 1 level from fainting in battle with another player character trainer. Cre gains 1 level for being the Pokémon that dealt the fainting blow, and 1 level from helping out. Thanks to Lucky Egg's effect, Cre's level gain [2 levels] is multiplied by 2 after the battle, so she is now 4 levels higher. ]--- After healing his Pokemon and picking up his hoodie, Warren was once again waiting for a battle within the battle room assigned to him, icy blue eyes noting that they had fixed the boulder while he was out healing his Pokemon, and that they added a few patches of tall grass into it to make it more exciting. He had taken the Lucky Egg from Cre, beginning to believe that it really was a lucky token, because she seemed to be a lot stronger. Instead, it was being held by the little puppy Pokemon he had gained- which he still didn't know the species name of, and hadn't though of a name for yet. He awaited whoever might show up to be his opponent, still feeling the need to make his Pokemon stronger.

Shadow & Firecrackers
Alex was quite excited to be using the Trainer's Lounge for battle. It would be his first time here and it was exciting! They said that the rooms in which the battles were to be held resembled the environment outside for the Pokemon. That was pretty cool in his opinion. He just wondered if they were the same thing or were just cheap replications. That would not be very pleasant in his opinion.
"I wonder who I'll get to fight? I'm still not very strong but at least I'll try to give him or her a run for their money?" said Alex. He had a weird knack of talking to himself for no reason at all. He walked into the room where his first battle would take place and he froze.
"Wait a minute!! I remember that face!" he cried in his mind. Standing there from across the room was a very familiar man; it was Warren Orainge from the Articuno's Vision. "W-What a c-coincidence! Yeah! That's all it is. Besides, he totally doesn't know who I am so it's okay," he thought. While he was thinking, he was performing a colorful array of strange poses and gestures to go along with his thoughts. He didn't realize this but straightened up and walked in. He was very nervous.
"H-Hello there! You must be my first opponent," said Alex with a forced grin. Hopefully, Warren wouldn't remember the sound of his voice after all this time. Even worse would be if he saw Alex's face when his mask broke. He reached into his bag and pulled out a Poké Ball. "W-Would you like to begin?" he asked.

Warren had waited quite a bit before his next opponent showed up, and when the opponent did show up, he wasn't sure even what gender the opponent was. From the clothing, the features, and even the voice of his opponent as he or she greeted him, he really couldn't be sure what gender they were. It could be a really girlish boy or a younger or underdeveloped girl, even a girl who was very boyish. The voice seemed vaguely familiar, but he couldn't quite place it. To the question of if he'd like to begin, Warren rolled his shoulders, tilting his head. This person seemed really timid, he wasn't sure how to respond to that- but it was obvious to him just as before, the person wanted the edge on him. If he threw a Pokemon out first, they could try to muster through their collection of Pokemon to find something that it'd be weak to- an advantage against someone who had a chance to scout the terrain. Without another word, he reached for the last Pokeball at his belt, tossing it lightly into the air, and releasing his mysterious Puppy Pokemon, whom he caught mid air and kneeled forward to place upon the ground gently. He ruffled the fur atop its head, and then looked at this mysterious, familiar yet not familiar opponent. With an almost silly swing backwards and from his kneeling position back to his feet, he looked at Alex, or Taiki as he'd have remembered him had he seen his face- with a smile. "I'm ready whenever you are." he nodded to the puppy again, who yapped at his feet for the moment. "You'll do great here, Setanta. I believe in you, little guy!" and so the little dog happily padded forward, waiting for its opponent. ::506:: 'Setanta' Warren's Mysterious Puppy Pokemon was sent out to battle.

Shadows & Firecrackers
Alex kenw that Pokemon that Warren sent out from the Articuno's Vision. It was the Pokemon that the Pokédexes had no data on. He was such a cute thing but he had to fight. He didn't actually know which Pokémon was in the Poké Ball he was holding but sent it out anyway.
"Here I go!" said Alex. He tossed the Poké Ball in the air and it opened with red light pouring out of it. It gathered on the ground before him and a small Cherubi appeared. She opened her eyes and saw Warren. She immediately smiled and started jumping up and down from excitement at seeing her previous owner. Alex knew this and was happy but also scared. What if Warren recognied that Cherubi and then made the connection that he was the girl on the Articuno's Vision? He didn't let Warren have any time in analyzing the situation and attacked first.
"Amaterasu, use Razor Leaf!" he shouted. Amaterasu was so happy that she didn't even consider this fighting against her "daddy." It was just a fun little party. She drew herself back before leaning forward quickly. Sharp leaves materialized behind her and shot forth at the Puppy.
- Amaterasu used Razor Leaf on Puppy!

The worse Pokémon Taiki could've sent out in the prescience of Warren was Amaterasu, the Cherubi he had hatched and tended diligently before giving her to that mysterious girl as a token of his friendship and a way to figure out who she was later. The dark haired young man's icy blue eyes were locked on that little cherry like pokemon, his mind focusing on it so intently and remembering those events for a moment that he didn't let it click until after the razor leaf was sent forward at his other baby pokemon, that puppy who he had saved and had listened to him so diligently after that. The little puppy wasn't ready for whatever game his friend the Cherry was playing, as soon as she launched, he giggled, not even trying to dodge, onwards and onwards until the leaves hit the puppy full force, sending it rolling back with a whimper. Blood dripped from it in places, and it did something Warren hadn't even expected from the little dog, a malicious growl, before charging forward, making its teeth curl back, and sending a fiery blast in the shape of fangs from it's mouth. As the fire shot forward, it watched it patiently. Used Fire Fang on Amaterasu.

Shadows & Firecrackers
Alex was proud of Amaterasu for that powerful hit but then his grin turned to an expression of fear. That Puppy shot forth an attack that had fiery properties to it. Amaterasu was a Grass-type so there would be no way she'd be able to take that!
"A-Amaterasu! Look out!" he cried. The little Cherubi was too busy being excited that her daddy was here to notice. When she started to feel the heat, she opened her eyes to see a set of fiery teeth latch onto her with such force. Alex's heart couldn't take the little cry she let out out of pain and shock. Amaterasu had teeth marks on her body and she was a little burned when she fell. She didn't get back up.
"A-Amaterasu...?" he uttered. He was so afraid of the situation at the moment. Not only was he fighting the gentleman from the Articuno's Vision but he accidentally pitted his previously owned Pokemon against him. It was like something out of a soap opera. He quickly ran towards his little Amaterasu and picked her up, holding her closely to his chest.
"You win. I can't let her fight. She wasn't ready for this," said Alex. He almost looked like he could cry but he wasn't about to.
- Amaterasu was hit by Fire Fang! It was super-effective!
- Amaterasu fainted!
- Amaterasu gains 1 level(s)!

Setanta didn't understand what he had just done- or the significance of it. He yapped happily as his friend went down in their spar and his attack proved to do more than her razor leaf had, but why wasn't 'daddy' or 'Warren' as some people called him congratulating the puppy for its good job? It could feel itself getting stronger already, but Warren wasn't even focusing on it at the moment. That little cherry seemed to be hurt, did he do that to her? The little puppy tilted his head with an upset expression for a moment. As this went on, as the little five second battle had hit, Warren was in what was based termed shock. Shock to see his little Cherubi in the first place, shocked to see it attack so blindly, and shocked to see his little puppy of a pokemon attack it without even an order, sending a blast of fire at it and seriously hurting it. Without a word, the eight pokeball on his belt, the fourth one on the right to be specific, was grabbed and Warren spoke calmly to the little puppy. "You're a good boy, Setanta." Without a word more, the button was pressed and Setanta was sucked back into his Pokeball. The dark haired young man from Staunchriver huffed, seething at the whole incident, his icy steel of blue eyes now seeming more like a fiery red as his face reddened in anger. He stormed forward towards Taiki, before tilting his head. If this Cherubi was used like that, then there was only one person this could be. "Why use my gift to you like this, miss...?" He didn't sound the slightest bit happy, as he tilted his head. "Put her in a Pokeball so we can get her healed by one of the machines they left in here." his personality from on the boat was gone, but it might've been that he was just frustrated- that was the case but if Alex-Taiki knew that would be another matter entirely. ::506:: Setanta was returned. [ooc; +1 level for fainting a Pokemon, +1 level for doing it on his own, x2, Setanta gains 4 levels. <3 You're horrible for deciding to send Cherubi out, Shiro. XD ]

Alex was so worried. He cradled the small Cherry Pokemon in his arms as if it was his baby. It was still young and barely had any experience in battling but he decided to try and see if she could handle it. She couldn't with her level of inexperience.
"R-Right..." said Alex. That's all he could say. Warren figured it out right away and he would surely be angry at what he did.He reached into his bag with a free hand and returned Amaterasu to her Poké Ball. He then turned to leave the room and search for one of those machines Warren mentioned.

Warren left the room without another word, heading off to heal Setanta and to get some food and drink to calm himself, lest he blow a nerve in his anger at the battle that had just happened, and that Cherubi had been in an incident like that. Perhaps he shouldn't have given her away to the mysterious woman at all. Though on the plus side, the dark haired young man mused- at least he knew her face now. --- After Setanta had been healed, he once again waited in the battle room he had been assigned, looking over it all and nodding silently to himself. This room was not perfect for any kind of battle he might have, but as Fragarach was a water type and could fight either way- he wasn't worried about the surroundings either. The rock face was still in the same place, the tall grass and random trees waiting. With a yawn and a rumble from his now full belly, he waited for the next battle. Hopefully whoever signed up to battle in this room this time wouldn't be someone like the mysterious girl before who had been given his Cherubi on the boat, and didn't think on how he'd feel about fighting his own Pokemon.

Shadows & Firecrackers
Luckily for Alex, the damage done to Amaterasu was not fatal. It was just a rough thing for her to go through at such a level of inexperience. He was glad to have her back in her Poké Ball, safe and sound. While he was still out here, he let out the latest addition to his team; a Snorunt named Himiko.
"Hey, Himiko. Do you know what this is?" he asked. He reached into his bag and pulled out a shimmering stone; it was a Dawn stone. Himiko looked at it with such a glint in her eyes that he knew exactly what she was thinking. "Would you like to evolve?" he asked. Himiko's expression changed when he spoke to her. She seemed determined. She walked forward and placed her little hand on the stone. The Dawn Stone reacted and was absorbed into her glowing form. She changed from a Snorunt into a beautiful and elegant Froslass. He had read somewhere that Snorunt could evolve into something that sounded like it came from a legend. In fact, it did. Froslass sounded like what a woman would become if she became lost and died in a blizzard. Himiko looked at herself with curiosity.
"You certainly look like an amazing Pokémon, Himiko. How about I teach you something new to accommodate as well?" he asked. She held both of her hands in front of her as if she were a princess. She certainly looked like the princess of a faraway kingdom. Alex held up a TM. "This will teach you Ice Beam. That should be a great move to know, wouldn't it?" he asked.
Alex stepped back into the battle room where Warren stood. He knew that Warren figured out who he was. He was sorry that he accidentally chose Amaterasu to fight him and wanted to apologize. He seemed nervous and shy but he walked forward anyway.
"L-Listen, Warren. I'm sorry about using her against you like that. I forgot which Poké Ball I picked up and she came flying out. I was so worried that you would recognize me that I just made her fight. I shouldn't have done that," said Alex. He was on the verge of tears not only from feeling guilty but from the embarrassment of it all; he made a mistake. That alone was enough to shatter his pride of being somewhat of a perfectionist. He bowed apologetically like the Japanese did. Although he was of Asian descent, he was not necessarily from Japan. He, however, had no idea about his roots as he never asked.
- Himiko evolved into a Froslass!
- Himiko learned Ice Beam!
- Alex used 8 Rare Candies on Himiko! Himiko gained 8 level(s)!
